I have been dealing with Western Dental in Compton for 3 months now, trying to get my dentures replaced that I have had for over 25 years.
I have been to 3 appointments set up by the Compton office, and the 3 times that I have came no work has been done. The last time I came in for my appointment I was told that they needed a approval from Medical in order for me to get treatment. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get a approval. The last appointment was July 13th or 14, 2023.
After 2 weeks had past. I received a phone call for me to come in for my appointment. This time I asked did you get the approval. I was put on hold a few times, and was then told someone would call me back. No one did, so I called back and spoke with the same person. He told me my approval was still pending. To call back in another week.
I then called medical and they told me my approval was pending, because they received incomplete paperwork. I called back to the dental office and was told it had been sent, and to wait about another 2 weeks for them to receive it and then give the approval.
I waited 2 weeks, then called medical and they told me they had just received in the DC054 on August 24th. So to wait a week for the dental office to received it back.
I called a week later, to dental office and was told my approval was denied. I asked why they said they didn't know. I was put on hold a few times. I just hung up and called medical back. They told me it was denied because the paperwork received was illegible. When the form was sent back the paper was bent so they could not read everything that was written. I asked why wasn't I told that 2 weeks ago when I had called. They said because it was just showing it was received and it was sent to the appropriate department for approval.
I then called Western Dental back and asked for a supervisor or manager. I spoke with Alejandra on August 1, 2023 and explained what had happened. I asked could she resend the DC054 electronically so that I could get my dentures. She told me she was very busy and if she could get to it by the end of the day she would. If not she would do it on Saturday. I told her I would call back on Saturday to check. I called Aug. 2th, and was put on hold for a very long time, so I just hung up.
Today Aug 6, 2023, I called medical they informed me that had not received anything back. The last paperwork they received was Aug. 24th. I then call Western Dental back in Compton and asked for Alejandra. I was asked for my name and was then told they didn't know if she was in. I was put on hold for a very long time and no one ever came back to the phone. I called back again and asked for Alejandra, and was put on hold and she never came to the phone.
I am at a lost of what to do. Alejandra is well aware of everything that has happened from the beginning, but doesn't seem to care at all. In the meantime I can't chew my food because my dentures are broken at the bottom, which I also explained to her. I am loosing weight and very weak. I am under the doctors care because I have a lot of medical conditions. I don't know what to do. I even asked medical if I could change to another office they informed me that Western dental in Compton would have to wait for approval then I could request to be seen by another office and start all over again. Desired outcome: I would like a readable copy to be resubmitted to medical immediately! If at all possible to be schedule to another western dental where they actually do their job, professional and not rude.
