product complaint - wee760h0ds 30 inch slide-in smoothtop electric range
Purchased Whirlpool WEE760H0DS Smoothtop Electric Range in July 2015. Number of people in household: 2 Age: 65 Called Whirlpool Customer Service to advise them about the Control Panel stainless steel trim (see photo) deteriorating. The trim appears to be some type of plastic material with stainless steel paint or finish applied. The range and specifically the control panel has only been cleaned with soap and water or Weiman SS cleaner & polish. I called Whirlpool Customer Service Department and requested a "No Charge Replacement". The Customer Service Rep was very friendly and helpful. However my "No Charge" replacement request was denied. Whirlpool Customer Service advised this was a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered by warranty. You only have 30 days to report cosmetic issues. Replacement for this panel is $224.50 and Whirlpool offered a price reduction to replace for $187.39. This purchase was over $1700. I am extremely disappointed with the appearance of this panel. The electric range is very nice and exactly what I wanted and needed for the space in my open kitchen area. However this flaw is very noticeable and deters me from buying any other Whirlpool product. Many of my friends and family have seen this flaw and of the same opinion. I have researched and found other individuals have complained about the same type of issue regarding this product and Whirlpool range WEE730H0DS. There appears to be a problem with this panel trim. Whirlpool has replaced the old panel part number (W10547072) with a new part number (W10728516) but Customer Service could not tell me whether the new part perhaps fixed the issue. I hesitate to buy another panel unless this cosmetic issue has been resolved because it could happen again. I am requesting this issue be reviewed beyond Customer Service Department and advise. front load washer
Bought front load washer from Lowe's. Washer will not spin clothes. Wads everything in a ball no matter the load or type of clothes. Will not balance. Bangs. I have to stop the machine a minimum of 3 times at spin cycle to rebalance the load hoping to get it to spin. Had a service call scheduled. The repair person called and said that she has to take clothes out and wring by hand with her washer then it will spin. She was trying to save me a service call fee as she said does not sound like anything is wrong. If this is normal then this washing machine is junk. I will not recommend to anyone.

I have had 13 ovens yes 13 ovens replaced in the space of 2 years all had faults of not working the engine comes and tells me it needs replacing from ovens not working at all to handles keep breaking to self cleaning not working to 2 ovens not switching off when on now this one under 28 days old the oven will not do what you want it to do I'm fed up sick and tired I asked them to break away from them on my 10th oven they offered me silly money that I cant even buy an oven for yet they keep upgrading me the last enginer can on tue yet I've called them about 15 times to speak to a manager and no one has called me back it's now 4 days I dont have a ove to cook with and 2 kids in the house this is discussing I was once lefted without an oven for 3 weeks cause no one would contact me they think I'm mad all different enginers come so I dont pay them to say my.oven is broken clearly all ovens need a bin

I purchased a dishwasher from The Home Depot on 04/2016. On 05/22/19 I had it serviced by Centerpoint Energy because it would not wash on any cycle. The serviceman replaced the circuit board. It still did not wash. He then called Whirlpool and the company told him to replace the motor assembly. I was without a dishwasher for approximately 2 weeks. I have a family of four and this was extremely inconvenient. On 05/30/19 this part was replaced. The dishwasher worked until 07/12/19 when it began to leak. I am unable once again to use this dishwasher. I am very disappointed in this product. This washer is only 3 years old. My previous Maytag worked fine for 12 years. I am wondering if I can have a replacement as I consider this to be more than the usual amount of repair problems. The dishwasher is also rusting where the heat escapes through the vent. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer for years. I also recently purchased a new refrigerator from your company. As you can see if I did not have a repair plan this repair would have been over $500.00 due to the circuit board also having been replaced. Thank you for your time. Product was purchased 2/12/18, 3 days after I had to call for service because it was noisy.
Diamond factory service in Chicago came out & zip tied a drain hose so it would not hit the back panel.
Again there was a noise, Diamond factory service came out again & zip tied a capacitor that had fallen loose.
Machine then started wrapping clothes around the agitator, Diamond factory service ordered a transmission. 10 days later, nothing was heard back.
At that time the machine quit washing completely!
Whirlpool service said they would come out in 9 days, but would not acknowledge that the machine stopped, there is more than the transmission issue at this point.
The machine is 16 months old, I do not have any faith that this will be resolved, as Diamond service is the only company serving the 60610 zip code area. I would like this unit replaced, as it has obviously been faulty from the initial purchase.

I am unable to use this oven, it emits and vents heat into my house, causing area to become overly warm, AC unit cant keep up with heat oven puts out. Called customer svc, local appliance company came to inspect and while on tele phone with Dusti from tech support he was told oven door getting up to 165deg was within ul standards? Unit is operating as designed? this is unacceptable, furthermore I am stuck with a sub standard product as Home Depot will not take it back. Will you stand by your good name and take it back? so dangerous, fire and burn hazard. SOOO disappointed.
maytag dryer
I am 60 and this is the worst customer service I have ever seen! My dryer was delivered May 1st, and after getting minor shocks and intermittent drying for 6 weeks it stopped working. After waiting 2 weeks, a service person could not fix it. After talking with 5 people at Whirlpool I am finally getting a new dryer, but that will be another 2 weeks before it is delivered. And the only reason I am even getting the new dryer is because it is a safety risk. Between making calls and waiting for service people I have about 8 hours invested in this dryer that only worked for 6 weeks. One month without my new dryer is unacceptable! I know getting faulty product sometimes happens, but how you treat your customers after there is an issue defines you as a company!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2019. The unit stopped freezing approximately 7 weeks ago and barely keeps cool in the lower unit.
I called customer service and over the past 4 weeks, the service contractor for Whirlpool, Dan Marc appliances has visited my home twice and failed to fix the unit.
I contacted Whirlpool customer service and requested a different vendor to do the repair, but was eventually told there wasn't anyone else.
They RE contacted Dan Marc, and after two weeks have failed to properly order the parts.
AFTER NEARLY TWO MONTHS I STILL DO NOT HAVE A WORKING REFRIGERATOR.
NOR DO I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO DO THE REPAIR.

fridge side by side counter depth ice maker in door
my ice maker stopped working, had repairman come and replaced maker but still did not work. They ordered a new ice maker, came out to install. The repairman said the ice maker was not the problem it was the wiring. So he worked on the wires front / bottom part of fridge. Still did not work, then a third tech came out and saw the job done on the wires, was not right and fixed them again. The ice maker work for a week, but the dispenser stopped working. They ordered a board panel and put that on the back, with no result. Now they say the whole door with ice maker in it needs to be replace, it's a wire problem.? The wires that runs up the side of the door, inside. Well the cost for that was going to be $1450.00, I only paid $1200 for the fridge to start with? The rest of the fridge works fine. Why does one door cost so much to replace? I think this is wrong ? My bought the fridge less the 4 years ago. Replacing a part that cost more than I paid for the whole fridge is not fair. So, if I have to buy a new fridge it will be another brand and no in door ice maker. Thanks for reading this, it's sad because I thought I had purchased a good product. Hello, where can I put pressure on the South African Whirlpool service centre? Ideally I want my complaint escalated to the highest possible authority. I am also publishing my complaint on social media and the local press consumer services.
My eye level microwave oven (AKZM848 IX) has been giving problems since installation aout 6 years ago, with the control board blown three times, and the latest a reportedly issue with the magnetron.
The dubious quality of your products aside, my real complaint is about the fact that the oven is still not repaired after more than two months of submitting a ticket (SAC111124) ANP PAYING FOR IT! I've had the run-around from the service centre with excuses about parts and technicians and so forth. The bottom line is I want my unit repaired now please. I know South Africa is a third world country, but I paid for first world technology, and I expect the service to match.
I expect a reply as soon as possible.

January 2018- 6 months after initially purchasing the washing machine we received our first F01 E01 error code indicating that the ACU computer unit was fried. It took a week for someone to come and replace the computer unit that only wound up fried 3 weeks later. During the time it took the repair companies to get here- I spent $100 at the laundry mat when I shouldn't have had to because I HAVE A WASHING MACHINE IN MY HOUSE.
April 2018- After 3 consecutive F01 E01 error codes Whirlpool finally replaced our machine with a new one.
March 2019- F01 E01 error code again. Certified repair company came and replaced the ACU unit on the new machine.
June 2019- F01 E01 error code again. It will take a week for the certified company to get out here to open my machine and repair the fried ACU. I have wet clothes trapped in my machine for a week.
Called Whirlpool customer service and they were extremely unhelpful. I called the Solution Center and spoke with 2 different people who refuse to help me get the process started on a buy back to get this machine out of my house. I am truly frustrated and disappointed. The whole reason I purchased a washing machine was to avoid going to the laundry mat and to avoid having these errors again and again. After my experiences with Whirlpool, I will never again be buying one of their products. Additionally, I am searching high and low for a means to contact the corporate offices and talk to someone who can help me.
Clearly the ACU's that are being placed in these washing machines are defective if my machines are going down like this. Whirlpool is refusing to acknowledge that their machines are defective.

Our washer has many rust places on the top, around the dispensers and especially under the rim. I did a chat with a Whirlpool representative yesterday, June 22nd, and was told that the washer was purchased in 2014 and was out of warranty. We purchased the house in Feb. 2015 and moved into it in July 2015. Within 2 years rust began to show up on the top around the dispensers and especially under the rim. My husband cleaned the areas as best he could and applied appliance paint to them. He has done that more than once to no avail. It is so bad now that the rust from the edges and under the rim are falling off in pieces into the tub and getting on our clothes. The Whirlpool representative arranged for a repairman to come tomorrow but we will have to pay for the new parts required plus labor. We need to be reimbursed for the costs since the metal on this expensive washer is inferior.
22 sf bottom freezer refrigerator
Horrible droning noise, terrible support from Whirlpool. I tried to return it as soon as it was plugged in due to noise, but home depot said I had to deal with Whirlpool who mandated a service tech be scheduled to evaluate. 3 days later, the tech said the damper was "a little noisy" and could order another but said it would probably be about the same noise. WP does not put DB noise level ratings on their fridges unfortunately and the tech did not take a DB level, but I did and it is 60 DB (LOUD). Even without the damper on. Completely unacceptable for my spouse who gets headaches and nausea from the noise. WP offered no solutions, were contentious and said I was stuck it. A model that makes my wife avoid the kitcen and have headahces. After hours of back and forth from Home Depot and Whirlpool it is amazing how they are putting off the issue on the other and refuse to take back a product that makes my wife ill. Shame on you

Whirlpool ceramic range Model YWFE521SOHSO - the timer on this product is a safety hazard. When using the timer for the oven, it only beeps ONE time and shuts itself off. If you happen to be out of the kitchen and miss it, you risk burning whatever you are baking, and a possible fire if left too long. The timer is also very quiet and easy to miss even if you are in the next room. So basically, you get one chance to catch the timer for the oven.
The timer works fine if you are using the ceramic cook-top. It will continue to beep until you turn it off.
Whirlpool needs to correct this issue as it is an extreme fire hazard. I have missed the timer beep on the oven many times and am concerned that a fire could be the result for either myself or others who have purchased this product.
Our local technician replaced the clock mechanism to see if the original was faulty, but there was no change in the operation of the timer, so this is a definite design flaw.

Inside lights began flickering after 1 year and Whirlpool would only cover parts so you have to pay all labor costs, never again buy whirlpool with the poor backing of this problem. Whirlpool needs to step up and have better warranties and cover labor costs to get this premature problem resolved, as it is now we will have to live with this whirlpool failure!

18.2 cu ft refrigerator with top freezer
I purchased the above refrigerator at Lowes in February of 2017. Along with the frig I bought a whirlpool dishwasher, stove and microwave. I bought it at Lowe's. I also purchased the extended warranty for 5 years on the 3 appliances. I have been having issues with the frig since the end of April and the problem still isn't solved. I have made several phone calls and received different info each time. At first I was not told of the rental frig or the food reimbursement. I have spent hours on hold on the phone and have to take off several hours from work to be home for service calls that are not doing any good. The one lady asked for a buyout for me and they turned it down. The 2nd company told me it was an internal problem and they need to send out a "Sealed System Repair Service Company" which they are not doing. They are sending out another refrigeration company that is not going to be able to do anything the other two couldn't. So now I have to lose more food and take off more time from work for nothing. It has been a nightmare to deal with and I am at my wits end. I have done everything I am supposed to do in good faith and all I get is the run around. This is not good for the Whirlpool name because everyone I work with knows what is happening and they can hear me on the phone for the last 7 weeks. Can you please help me get this resolved?

This is a very poor way to handle calls:
1) when and if you call back - i probably will not have any of the information in front of me that i need to discuss the topic
2) i maybe busy at that moment and not able to answer...I could be in a meeting, driving, etc...Then i got to start the process all over again
3) i want to discuss the issue today not tomorrow...I got a problem product...I want it working.
4) the hours of call center on my product brochure (which was made in 12/2018) apparently is not accurate...You close down at 5:00 pm est not 6:00 pm as the brochure.
5) this forces us to just bring the product back to the store and complain about the service you don't provide. (it is going back to costco!).
