Taking more funds than what was owed
I was a customer and my payments were supposed to be $1300 total but you they continued to take out funds which came up to $2500. I called them and you finally stopped taking money and closed my account and only returned $400 to me so I disputed it because y’all owe me way more money than $400. The bank temporarily gave me $500 credit after my dispute but reversed it in January 2023 giving them $500 back! I was only supposed to pay $1300 for the PS5 I got and you guys robbed me of $1200! So why should I still be paying because the balance has been paid many times over.
Desired outcome: To get refunded what they owe me.
Lease program
I leased two LG Pedestals back in Dec of 2021; two days later I am returned them became they were not the right size. I am still making payments on it as of today 5/2022. I called Tempoe after returning the items and submitted proof of my return but I am still being charged for it. Needless to say, I have called several times since then requesting them to stop taking money out of my account and requesting a refund; neither of which has happened!
Desired outcome: I would like this company to stop charging me and refund my money!!!
Service, bedframe, mattress.
I would give this -1000 stars if I could. My significant other and I purchased/leased from here and it is a complete nightmare. They charge fees without telling you do not give an overall receipt of your bill. To take autopay off you have to write a letter to the company. The bedframe etc. That we leased is the most horrible quality I have ever had. Amazon has better quality! complete waste of money and scam. They charged my account over $150 in fees that we do not know about. The portal is so basic and just tells you what bill is next that is all.

Making to many payments
I have two accounts with tempoe, 8C2D921, CCRG7CG I've been paying on them since 2019 I recently called them to see why I'm still paying on them and figured out that I'm only paying about 15 dollars a month on both accounts and they are pocketing the rest. My compliant is that it should have been paid by now. I would like a refund of the money I paid after the purchase prices which was $550 and $350 dollars.

Sears purchased mattress and bed frame
In September 2020, I purchased a mattress financed by this company Tempoe or Why not lease it or there are several names, through a lease to own program set up by Sears. The original purchase was $648.82, my payments were around $120/ month. My understanding was that I would have this account paid off in 6 months or less. However at this point I have paid them WAY more than the original amount I agreed to pay: $1250 & they are still charging my bank account monthly. They also claim I still owe them $350 to end the lease. There is just no excuse for this.
I have suspiciously been unable to access any information about my account with them, despite providing my SSN, until today when I discovered their app and re-registered. I told customer service but they did nothing and when I called them they claimed that they could not locate my account.
This company already has a warning on BBB website for complaints about deceptive business practices. They need to be stopped! I was completely fooled because the purchase originated from Sears & I believed they were a reputable company that would not be involved in this kind of scam.

Washing machine
Leased a washing machine from Sears outlet made the required payments when the option came to purchase I did is received a Thank you email for purchase couple months later a payment was taken out after a heated argument they insisted that I make a payment of 182 and it would be mine don't forget I already purchased it received a Thank you notice email after that I got about a dozen phone call a day from God knows how many different numbers but always under Why Not Lease it or Tempoe I would answer and know one would respond next I see that a payment of 136.99 was taken out of my account by Tempoe and then Why Not lease it sends me an email saying I owe 347.00 back pay I was forced to be charged by my bank to put a stop payment on Tempoe but was told that if they try to collect under another name or routing number it would go through I don't have the e tea money to pay for various stop payments so I'm forced to close my bank account they owe me so I much money the washing machine was only supposed to be roughly 700 but in dealing with this over a year I have paid three times the amount and they refuse to give me my money back I have told them many times to pick up the machine and there was always an excuse as to why they could not and told me that's was a different company they have dozens of customer service numbers everyone seems to be a supervisor please do not deal with these company's they are scammers and they will definitely take your money

I have been paying on my merchandise now for over 2 years and when i called to get the payoff they said it would be $845.00. My total purchase was only 554. This is crazy and not right. I think they are robbing people and taking on interest when it should have been calculated in the payment that was given to us.
Microwave stove
I bought a miocrowave stove combo from sears hometown store in Marysville, Wa. I went through Whynotlease it, My equipment was scheduled for delivery on Sept 23rd, they rescheduled my delivery to Oct 12th, and cancelled that order(recheduling to Nov 12th), stating they were waiting on the range/stove, but the microwave was in the warehouse. I went ahead and paid off my lease on Oct 16, after I was assured that my products would, in fact, be delivered to my house on NOV 12th, even went so far as to make me go thru a Covid checklist, before the delivery. Sure enough, NOV 10th, came around, and they rescheduled my delivery to Dec 12th, stating they were waiting on the range to be delivered! On Dec 10th, I received a voicemail from the delivery office, stating that SAMSUNG had discontinued my microwave and cancelling the order. When I called back, I was then informed it would be at least another 9 months before I would receive my stove. The decision was made to cancel that order as well. I asked for a refund. Multiple times. I have been told "A ticket has been placed" and someone would be in contact within 24-48 hours, no one has contacted me. No calls. No emails. and no refund! I want my money back! I paid for applianced that were NEVER DELIVERED. NEVER USED. NEVER EVEN SEEN!

Kenmore refrigerator
Became a participate of the why not lease program September 2019 with a Kenmore refridgerator which cost plus tax close to $1500, we make payment twice a month in the amount approximately $153 each payment. Since inception we have paid out over $3600 and the original lease agreement has been met about 7 months ago. We live in New Jersey and have been told we can not purchase this item because NJ is not in there purchase agreement. Despite this we have been told that this option would be available to us. We would like to keep the item But renting this for 300$ per month seems crazy after we have "basically paid for it more than twice. In this economy and circumstance can't anything thing be done .
Leased living room set - my refund
I attempted to lease a product with Sears who has Whynotleaseit as the vendor for the lease payments. I purchased this item online on 5/20 - lease # 6FF6TVk for a couch set in the amount of $1, 000 and was approved immediately. I was told that my would be delivered on 6/12 and on 6/11 I would receive a call regarding my delivery time. On 6/11 I called why not lease in the evening and spoke with a rep named Allie to inform I had not received a call from anyone yet regarding my delivery and needed to know if my delivery date was still 6/12. She confirmed that it was and I asked who would the furniture would be delivered by and she told me she did not have that information and that I would receive a call even though it was late evening. I took the day off expecting a delivery and at 12 pm on 6/12 I still had not heard from anyone so I called them again and spoke with a rep named Olga. I explained that I had not heard from anyone and I needed delivery information. She told me I needed to call Sears. I called Sears and they told me I needed to call why not lease it. I called back and fortunate for me I received Olga again and told her what Sears said. She attempted to help me- she gave me numbers to call and also called several departments and sears to get information for me because she did not have the information on my delivery. She was extremely nice and expressed her frustration with me that she did not or could find the information for my delivery. After being on the phone with her for over an hour trying to get answers. She gave me additional numbers to try and I also sent messages online to their customer service which till this day they have not responded to any of the messages. I finally had a tracking number from my online account which just stated it was a freight delivery without the freight company name. After doing my own research online I was able to get information on the furniture store who would be shipping the furniture. I called and left them a voicemail and within 30 minutes I received a note from them saying they couldn't help me. Within a couple of minutes of receiving this information from them I received a Sears email stating they had to cancel my shipment due to Covid 19. I called Why not lease it back and spoke with Allie to state that I received an email from Sears stating my account was cancelled and I would not be receiving the furniture. They told me they would be issuing a refund and I should receive it within 7-10 days. The 7-10 days passed so I called back again and spoke with a gentleman who stated we did not process the refund because you was supposed to call us with the order cancellation number that Sears sent you. I told him when I spoke with the rep 2 weeks ago she never asked for any such thing and now he's telling me something completely different and that I told the rep that Sears sent me a cancelation email and why didn't she tell me this at that time two weeks ago. So I gave him the cancellation numbers and he then said it will be another 7/10 days. 7/10 days has passed again and I still have not received my refund. I called them back on 7/9 and was told by Allie well we did it and I don't know what happened. I requested to speak with a manager and was told well we have to send them a written notice and it can take 3-5 days to hear back from them. Allie then stated I have to submit it again and it only takes (5 days for you to receive your refund) and I told her you told me last time it was 7/10 days now you're telling me something else. So now again it's been five days and I have not received my refund yet. This company is horrible. They give you the run around - wrong information just to get you off the phone. I want my money back for the down payments for the furniture that I did not. Also they took two payments from me stating that it is automatic even though I did not have the furniture. They said that was there policy and that is how the lease works. You pay even if you do not have the furniture. There customer service people are not educated with how to handle situations or to provide you information. The phone quality is horrible and makes it even more frustrating to deal with them on the phone. I just want my money back - im tired of all the back and forth and the lies. Sears should not be dealing with a company such as this caliber. It's ridiculous and yet I still do not have my refund back from over a month ago.
Cannot get the store to help with a product that we purchased and we need fixed

This is the second time we have used this program and we fill like the store manager should be a little more helpfull. All we need is the copy of receipt and the store employee said store manager can lok up a copy in just a few minutes but she is not willing to do so have tried to call lease number but keep getting put on hold.
Unfulfilled order
I ordered a few Christmas gifts December 10th. I was approved and they took $60 down payment despite advertisement from Sears stating $30 down payment if ordered online. False advertising!
They didn't notify Sears of the lease agreement. I contacted Sears and whynotleaseit several times trying to get one of them to contact the other to get the order fixed. They refused.
Whynotleaseit changed their story several times claiming I had to give them between 24 and 72 hours for Sears to fix it. This is my third lease and my wife has done a lease before also. We never had to wait. It's always been instant. Sears has no order # or knowledge of the order.
I am submitting the $60 charge as fraud to my bank!
I have pretty much the same problem as some of you. I started this lease/purchase 12/02/2018 a $600 television, I have now paid over$2500! I setup the purchase payout in April, they didn't do it. I also sis it 2 more times and nothing. I have set many email off their site and all but 2 were deleted, calling is a joke they blame Kmart and Kmart blames them. this is the worse company I have ever dealt with. I am in contact with my lawyers who will be handling this now. This is not fair for companies to practice this kind of business. I could have had a better deal from a loan shark!
Service
I missed one payment that had not been paid and checked my account they claimed I missed several. Took an UNAUTHORIZED extra 90 over 4 weeks and refused refund. I have called to schedule the payment everytime I have answered them no one is on the other line or have been disconnected and wont hear back from them for several weeks. I asked for a refund because I did not authorize the payment to be taken and she said "well since you wouldnt fix it we had to take it some way what do you expect"

This company is not the best ive delt with, I have had nermerous issues with them taking moving from my bank account, I authorized the payment, but then they would pull other amounts from my account also, I have 5 children I dont have an assload of money in the bank, just enough to pay my bills, so when they take more it puts my bank in the negative and I get a fee there too. So I went in and changed my info so it comes out of a different account, cant overdraw that account and they are still taking money out of my account, changing my infor should mean I am no longer authorizing u to touch that account! But they did anyways. I want out from under this lease, sucks to have paid so much just to let them have it back, but im not paying another penny. I've told my bank to stop payment through them. The whole company
This has to be the worst company I have ever encountered. I purchased a tv through them and later got an email from k-mart that the product I ordered was not available and they were changing it to a refurbished model. For the kind of money I wanted a brand new set so I cancelled the order. I called why not lease it that day to cancel and was told 3 business days for a refund. 3 days later nothing so I called again and again and again. I spoke with supposed supervisors and was promised it would handled that day still nothing 2 weeks later still trying to get it cancelled before they charge my card again. I use this company in the past like 8 years ago and did not have any issues needless to say I will not be using or recommending ever again
Washer and dryer
Hi, I am also interested in a class action suit. Through Sears I was talked into a lease for a washer and dryer that I had planned to buy outright. I was told that it would be 11 addition payments on top of the payment I made in store that day back in April of 2018. The gentle explained the 30, 60, and 90 day buy out, but never mentioned the 5 period. I was told at the end of my 11 payments the washer and dryer would be paid in full. My purchase cost was to be a little over $1300.00 and in total I have paid them $2871.40. When I first realized this and called them in the beginning of September 2019, the first man I spoke to just kept apologizing and when I said again I want money refunded to me in a very humorous manor he told me that he could tell me that it would not happen. I have called and spoke with at least 5 different people since then. I also went into the Sears and the manager there contacted them on my behalf. I was offer to be done with the lease and be waved the $512.00 that they said I still owed. I told them I planned on filing a complaint with the BBB and things started to change. I was offer a 5 payment refund. My payments were $102 and change before they then sent me to there customer experience department that you can only leave a message at and hope that they get back to you within 24 hours like they state. It has been a month. After calling again last night and telling them I am going to look into this more the woman went from releasing 5 to 6 payments back to my account immediately. When I told her that a lawyer friend (non-practicing) said to file a complaint and call the media I was told that she could no longer work with me unless I provide said friends name and contact information. I never said I had legal representation. It is to point now that yes I want my money back, but more so it is not right that they keep getting away with this. Everywhere I look people are saying the same thing about this company, that also goes by Tempoe. Please feel free to contact me and put me down for any legal action
Over charging
I haven't checked my credit card statement in a while for details. I recently saw a $179.81 charge for why not lease it, I was supposed to be done payments 3/2019, this was August now. I immediately canceled my card, called why not lease it just to be on hold forever. I'm calling Capitol one later. I get an email from why not lease it saying I have a payment coming up, UM, NO THE F*^% I DONT! I'm not giving them another dime. Stay away, and shame on Sears for misleading. It's no wonder they are closing stores left and right.
Actually both Sears and Why Not Lease it are totally at fault, they are both also guilty and in violation of the Federal Truth in Lending Act or TILA for short. Any company that leases or loans merchandise to their customers must disclose all interest payments and loan details in full. Sears is in violation because they allow Sears Employees to execute these agreements when they barely understand the agreements themselves and they often don't disclose all the information to the customers pertaining to those agreements. Why not lease it is in violation because they are supposed to have an employee on-site to go over the full terms of the lease, they don't. My suggestion to you is to file a complaint with your states attorney generals office as well as your local congressperson. Their practices are basically loan sharking at it's finest.

This company is a rip off I ordered a table and chair set from Kmart. Then I see this company wants to charge $200 more than it's worth. Canceled the same day which was on July 30th still fighting to get my $120 back And it is now August 7th. I asked to talk to a supervisor every time they are on the phone so they put me on hold for 10 minutes and I end up not talking to one buyer beware

Since day one it's but nothing but problems. Customer service and the way they don't explain payments. Then one payment left and they sent it off to collection agency. Now instead of owing $200 we now owe $1000. I am not happy with this company and will never recommend or use them again. should have done my homework and just went and paid cash for a stove. Im leasing one and now i regret ever getting into this agreement. I will be paying probably almost triple the amount that its really worth. Unbelievable as too why they would even have a program like this is you are just wasting money on leasing and never owning it until you pay it off. Unbelievable never again and i will never recommend anyone to do this program ever.i wish there was a way to sue them.
