WhyNotLeaseIt scam!

My husband and I purchased two items at Kmart and we where given the option to have 1, 000 in credit. We purchased two items that where 160 and one for 199. Kmart told use that the payments would come out every month and at the end of the five months we would be paid off. Right away instead of taking out two payments why not lease it was taking out three. They where paid each month and continued taking out money in august two months after they said the contracted was to end. Now they say I have to pay the full price of the item or return them and Kmart wont deal with it. They say it was a lease which is stupid because we where sold the extended warrenties on items which we would not have purchased if we where ever told we did not own the items out right at the end of the term. They breached the contract in the begging by taking extra payments that where not stated on the contract and when I asked them to send a list of the payments they received they wouldn't. The lady said if I paid for the items in full they wouldn't charge anymore and I told her to send that in writing to which she refused. I think they need to be sued. I will be talking to an attorney and Kmart. This is not ok. I have a reciept that says when the payments end and it appears that I will own the item at the end.

WhyNotLeaseIt Returned a pool to kmart

These folks are scammers! beware! i purchased a pool that had a hole in the liner so i returned the pool maybe 5days after to kmart and i thought everything was fine. Kmart contacted whynotlease it while i was there to let them know and to provide them with a return receipt number and i also spoke to whynotlease it on the phone while waiting. Two days after i returned the pool my card was charged $16.65. I called whynot lease and they said that they where waiting on paperwork from kmart and i needed to contact them. I called kmart and spoke with a manager and she had no clue what i was talking about and they never have done anything but call for returns. I called whynotlease it back and they gave me the run around. I even faxed them a copy on my returned receipt every time i get an email about them debiting my account. So today 8-3-18 my account was debited 3 times for $16.65. Im so upset. Im now going to dispute these charges. I thought leasing was a good idea... Please save your money and do layaway

WhyNotLeaseIt washer and dryer

This is the worst thing I have done in my life. Leasing a Washer and Dryer from WhyNotLease It. Customer no service! I called today to ask to move my payment to another day, and they said I couldnt do that, and that I had another payment on the 3rd and on the 17th, which would be my last payment. I asked well cant just pay all of those on the 22nd then pay the washer and dryer off the next month. They tell me no, they have to get the payments, before they can do the lump sum (payoff). That is a bunch of BULL CRAP! I also told them that the payment for tomorrow will not got through, due to an unexpected bill that I had to pay. I asked to move it, so I can get the money in the bank to cover it, and was told no. So now its going to make me have to pay 36 dollars overdraft fee, for something they could changed. I will never ever lease from this place again, and I will make sure that anyone I know will not either.

WhyNotLeaseIt washer and dryer

I went into Sears.com and decided to purchase a washer and dryer through the leasing program. I went to checkout and the site took me to why not lease it. I filled everyout and was Approved. Made the first required payment. Then it was supposed to direct me back to sears.com and it never did. So I called the leasing he said it was sears issue. I called sears they said it was leasing. So I called back and I was told that this happens all the time. We will cancel out your contract and refund your money. Then you can go into store and do it if you like. I said give me the refund and send me a confirmation email. They said ok and I could see the canceled agreement online.
So later I looked and didn't see anything nor got an email. I called back and talked to a manager they said we won't give you a refund you need to work that out with sears to return the product. I informed them I don't have the product nor did I get a delivery date or an order number. He said well sorry the other person told you wrong info and it takes 3-5 days for sears system to see my order. I called sears they said sorry we can't help. I am ripped off $195 and have nothing for it. One other thing is the first person who said I would get a refund wanted my checking account info. I asked why he said cus we would have to send you a mail check. I said I used my card and you can refund me that way. He was hesitant and said oh ok. This company is horrible. No one from sears will help and no one from why not lease it. I encourage all not to use this company they are ripp off people.

WhyNotLeaseIt lease dishwasher

I set up payments on a dishwasher 8 months ago and was told it would be 5 payments. I needed the dishwasher because I had bought my house and the dishwasher it had in it was no good. I couldn't get approved for a sears card, but they said I was approved for 1500$ in a payment plan. I was so desperate, I didn't question it. I've payed 800$ on a 400$ dishwasher and if nothing else comes from this. I would just like to make people more aware or stop this kind of practice all together.

WhyNotLeaseIt leasing program - sears why not lease it

I have read the complaints on this site and wish I had seen them before I made the HUGE mistake of leasing from Sears with Why Not Lease It. Our purchase was in April 2018 - One part of our purchase was returned using Sears website as advised by Sears. It is now July and we are still waiting for the credit of the returned item. I have been following up regularly and that in itself is a HUGE task. Call the number listed on Sears site talk to rep and they say you have to contact our home delivery team - contact home delivery team and they say you have to contact Why Not Lease It - Have had numerous promises from both Sears home delivery team and promises from Why Not Lease It for 3 months now and still no credit on the lease amount of returned item $64.99. Every time someone says to me - Rest assured I am having this taken care of and I will follow it through to the end. Then NOTHING. I have actually filed a complaint with my states Attorney Generals office. Now on top of everything else they are taking unauthorized payments and when the card on file does not authorize the amount they are trying to take, I get a $20 fee from them. So not only are they taking a payment that isn't supposed to be taken but then another $20 fee on their system and it happens like every two days.
Payment tried on 7-6-18 should not have been until 7-13-18 based on their payment schedule on their web site on my account. Now another $20 fee. See attached pics. So now not only am I fighting about unauthorized payments and getting charged an extra 20 each time but I still haven't received credit for returned merchandise.

I'm very sorry to have to say this but don't hold your breath on getting it resolved. I have everything documented. All the chats, all the emails, phone conversations and still nothing. My last call to them I had to explain to their CSR which recorded phone call they should listen to. Date and time. They just don't or won't get it. Oh yeah- they did offer to credit my account the $64.99 IF I would pay off the account at over $1000.00.

Have you had any luck yet? I actually received a note from them FINALLY that they are postponing any payments until they get a resolution on our complaint. I suggest you to file complaint with your Attorney General and keep all documentation. Send the notes via their message window on their site under message then outbox the send note. Screen print all contact tries and keep following up there. They don't usually answer but screen print and keep as proof. You called

6-30-2018 Lease # MO-4971-G9KWJWP-20182204044782

So today my lease expired which was great news, so I thought. When I went into Sears in Springfield, Mo, the associate talked me into a lease with Why Not Lease It. I had the cash to pay for tools my husband needed. At first I was a little apprehensive about purchasing through a lease because of the extra cost. When the associate told me the lease would only be for five payments and I would own the merchandise at the end of those five payments with nothing further to pay, I figured what the heck, I might as well do it because she also told me that it would report on my credit( an attractive offer as I am rebuilding and thought it couldn't hurt to have a little more depth). Let's be clear, I have done other lease purchases in where I've paid the lease term and acquired ownership. I had no reason to think this would be any different. I was dead wrong. According to Why Not Lease It, ownership would never occur as long as I was leasing and it would continue to renew at the original payment every five months unless I paid extra to purchase the items. If they wouldn't have lied at Sears, I would have never agreed to such terms. The associate also messed up and had to run it 4 times before getting it right. While I don't entirely blame Why Not Lease It, someone has to take accountability as they are partnered with Sears. I don't care if it's Sears or Why Not Lease but someone needs to cover the remainder of the buyout because at this point I refuse to continue to be responsible for misinformation. On principle alone, I'm contacting an attorney. While this is obviously not a loan, there are truth in advertising laws and truth in lending laws that would still be applicable. Or, someone can do the right thing and take care of this without having to go through these extremes.

The resolution, either Why Not Lease It takes the loss, or they get into contact with Sears to take care of the balance. I've also sent this same complaint to Sears and will also file complaints with the BBB and other agencies aimed at ensuring fair trade.

WhyNotLeaseIt unethical behavior

Sears rep talks me into this lease program telling me its a loan. IT IS NOT A LOAN! Lease means lease. . .even if the stupid rep says otherwise. But that is not the worst of it.

So I have noticed that my payments do not count, that they will charge me 41 dollars forever, and I am merely leasing the item, not paying it off. Luckily, I only borrowed 200. I have been paying 41 dollars each month to "lease" the item. At the end of my 5 month lease, I would still have to buy out over 150 to "own" the item. So I will pay well over 360+ for a 200 dollar "loan." That's loan shark math. . .

So I go to "buyout" the item online and avoid paying an extra 160+ money on this and the website refuses to let me. You see, I owe a payment this week and they can't let me buy out before I make the next month's payment (which will not count towards my debt). So I am privileged to pay an extra 41 dollars to wait a few days to buy my item to "prevent me from being overcharged" as the website states. Now they hope I will forget to buyout until it is too close to the next payment. . .

The worst part is the Sears rep talked me into this instead just a normal Sears purchase. Don't use "WhyNotLeaseIt." They will try any method possible to over charge you and keep the item themselves.

WhyNotLeaseIt sears holdings

Barbara and Catherine Watkins
13 Pine Point Road
Brandenburg, KY 40108

RE: Ticket # [protected]

I am writing regarding a case of fraud, which occurred within Sears purchasing with WhyNotLeaseIt credit on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. I had taken my mother, Barbara, into Sears store at the Jefferson Mall on Outer Loop in Louisville, KY to purchase a washer and dryer combination and a vacuum. A very pleasant floor person, Richard (?) employee number 2113, was kind enough to help my mother with her purchase, check her purchase over, then recheck the purchase over with her to ensure she understood what items had been purchased and delivery date of June 11, 2018.

As I was driving Barbara home (we traveled an hour to get to the closest mall), she received an automated message stating she needed to call Sears back regarding delivery of product. When we arrived home, Barbara called back to Sears to hear that her washer, dryer, and vacuum were all out of stock, and delivery was set for July 11, 2018. Barbara called customer service and was told again that the earliest delivery was July 11, 2018. The next day, Barbara placed a call to [protected], where she left a detailed message regarding the order and the lack of Monday delivery date. The message stated she would receive a return call. The call has not occurred after 24 hours.

It is now June 8, 2018, so another call was placed to [protected], Executive Customer Service, where Madison reiterated the same information for a July 11, 2018 delivery date on all products. Barbara asked Madison "Is Sears Holding in such bad financial shape that they have to pay their suppliers once a month before receiving delivery of product?" In which Madison replied nothing but reiterated the product would not be delivered until July 11, 2018.

Not satisfied with the answer given by Executive Customer Service, Barbara made another call the office of Eddie Lampert at a different telephone number of [protected]. A voicemail with the same message stating she would receive a return call.

AT this point, I must state this has been a fraudulent transaction. My mother, Barbara was sold goods and delivery services, and they are not being rendered by Sears as promised.

I have moved my family to Fort Knox, Kentucky for work, and we have been without a washer, dryer, and vacuum since our arrival May 25, 2018. We have dealt with Sears Holdings in Colorado and Nevada but have never had such blatant fraud produced by your company. I have been trying to be patient but have reached my limit. We are writing, as per your company's wishes, before we file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The Kentucky Attorney General, and Federal Trade Commission are next after the writing of this letter.
I can be reached at [protected] or [protected].

Sincerely,

Catherine and Barbara Watkins

WhyNotLeaseIt fraudulent account set up in my name

Tempoe LLC purposely makes it so easy to set up an account and gain credit fraudelantly. Someone created an account in my name (misspelling it) and they did it with no ID, didnt run my credit, didnt use any references, didnt have my address or phone number. They used an address that I had not lived at for over 5 years! How was that possible? It is easy to provide atleast an ID Card and proof of address. But, no, that would make less business for Tempoe LLC.

They took out credit in my name in NOV 2016 and I never knew about it until May 2018, when it got sent for collection and ended up on my credit score accounts. I cannot believe that they will extend items like furniture, electronics, clothing etc., without getting proof of identity. This company should have a massive lawsuit. It happens all of the time and it is because the company does not care that someone is creating accts fraudelantly and then they sell it to a collections company and still get there money. The only person who loses is whoever has their identity stolen.

WhyNotLeaseIt miscommunication

We went to Sears to purchase exercise equipment. We purchased an elliptical and treadmill on the "lease to own" program (as quoted by the salesperson). They, we found out, were not trained to convey the actual payments we will make "after" the 5 month rental agreement, which we found out after the fact. They stated that the program was pay for 5 months, same as cash. After looking at the agreement, it was noticed that it wasn't how the payment program was. Now that our 5 months is coming up, we will be paying an additional "large sum" to purchase our equipment. We would have never went this payment route if we knew the absorbent amount that would have to be paid to own the equipment. A large sum was initially paid and then $270 per month afterwards times 5 months; always paid by our credit card the first of each month. I also went online to our account to email questions regarding the lease terms and never received a response. Very dissatisfied and want resolution to this issue.

WhyNotLeaseIt kenmore washing machine

I went to Sears Outlet in Morrow to purchase a washing machine, but after looking at the prices the sales rep indicated of a great sales program called "why Not Lease IT". It was explained as a lease to own with minimal down payment and if you do not want it anymore you can return it. Well I ended up signing for the program and leased a Kenmore washing machine. I kept the washing machine and made payments on time for 2 1/2 months. My husband found us a cash washing machine and I called WhyNotLeaseIt and spoke to a rep who told me to return the washing machine to the Sears store. I returned the washing machine on 04/29/18 and spoke with management who kept saying that "they wasn't able to refund me the amount I paid but they would take the washing machine back. They never gave me paperwork but they received the washing machine. I called WhyNotLeaseIt and then they begin to deny that they told me to take the washing machine back to Sears and stated that I would need to fufill the commitment of the 5 month lease. I advised of the definition of a lease and that Sears received the appliance. My husband goes to Sears Outlet today to talk to manager, the assistant manager informs him that they would have to deliver the washing machine back to our home and WhyNotLeaseIt would need to pick it up. My husband stated that he wouldn't take the washing machine back. Sears stated that it isn't their appliance anymore and it belongs to us! I am so frustrated ! I'm contacting a lawyer for my options!

WhyNotLeaseIt brakes rotors calipers

I took my 1998 Audi a six which has 79, 000 miles on it into Sears to get tires they recommended brakes calipers rotors I told him to order the parts they told me about a leasing program that I was more than likely to be approved for I was approved I use the credit towards getting the stuff did to my vehicle in the process of them ordering the parts in getting my car return back to me they were unable to get the rotors so they refurbish the rotors and put them back on my car instead of calling me and telling me that they could not get the parts I feel it was very unfair I have a case going on with Sears corporate office I've also contacted the department where I got the parts installed the manager Henry told me that I could return the airport and they would refund me my money but then I still would be without the parts they took off my car and it wouldn't be movable now I have received a duplicate statement on my credit stating that $2015 is owed and I've had a case going on since six days after I receive service

WhyNotLeaseIt sears whynotleaseit program

Last spring I did my second lease on a new riding lawn mower. Being that the first lease I had went very good & no issues I decided to do it for the lawn mower. I set everything up just as I did the first time through my bank account using my debit card. Well as of today 03/07/18 I called to check my balance due or to see if my account was paid in full & mind you I was paying $143 & some change bi-weekly & was informed that my account was turned over to collections & referred to that debt collectors number. After numerous calls I find out through them that they took about 6 payments up until june of 2017 & for whatever reason said they couldn't process payments from my account which is a total lie. I have the same debit card & checking out & not one notification from whynotleaseit that anything was wrong or any problems on my account. The collection agency wanted $2600 plus dollars which is a heck of a lot more than initial cost of the sale of the lawn mower!' bad way to do business! Never again!

WhyNotLeaseIt it is an illegal scam!

I visited my local sears appliance store in october 2017 after my refrigerator broke down. I have 3 children and caring for a mother with severe dimentia. Money is tight to say the least. It was columbus day weekend and to my pleasure there was a big sale going on. I proudly puchases a refrigerator on the lease purchase program offered to me. The salesman, louis frantz, never mentioned that there would be an "end of lease buyout offer". He simply assured me that I can pay for my refrigerator in 5 monthly payments, the first that would be paid on that day. I signed up and was very excited. I promised to come back in february after my last payment to purchase another appliance as this was so easy for my tight budget. Now tha ive kept my promise, made all of my payments - I went online today checj everything was paid in full. When I logged into the account it shows future payments to infinity of $268 a month. I called and thought it was some type of mistake. I was then informed (buy a very fresh fiancing company) that I am locked into lease my refrigerator forever! They told me that it is against the law to purchase through a lease program! I marched right back into the sears store where it was puchased. Of course "loius" wasnt working today but the other manager suggested I call to haggle a buyout price. I called again and was quoted $938 with a 29.9% interest rate! I am out of my mind. L asked them to come pick the item back up immediately. I will live out of a cooler! They told me that would take at least 30 days! Sears did nothing to back me up or help me. They are fraudulently advertising their items as "lease it. Love it. Own it". I have to now close out my bank account because all of the complaints I just researched online warned that this company will never stop take ng money from my account! Stay away from sears! No wonder they were bought out by k-mart! I am calling this into our area news station so they can do a special report on this scam and the public will be aware!

It sounds as if there was a little confusion over the lease agreement and what the term "lease" actually referred to. Was the terms placed in writing?

You are either lying or just plain stupid. You really thought 5 payments and you owned a refrigerator? Did you bother to do the math? And no, they wont take the payments out forever, you just need to call them to buy it out. Its even on your receipt! And of course it is high interest! Its for people with bad credit or no credit!
