Good afternoon, and Happy New Year. I am praying that my New Year will get better. I am a 1 year resident at Costa Vizcaya Apartments. 12020 N. Gessner Rd. Houston, Texas 77064. I live in a one bedroom on the 3rd floor and although it is very spacious for me, it does not feel like home. I am very afraid and I do not feel safe here any more. I was not here 2 months when I witnessed a group of young boys speeding throughout the apartment complex, speeding in excess of 70 mph or more. At one point almost hitting a little girl. I believe this was addressed, but it has gotten worse. Over the last 3 months I have witnessed over 30 cars with windows busted out from being burglarized. There is a homeless guy that lives in the gym at night. Packages are getting stolen from the neighborhood kids, or by the homeless woman that pushes her cart through the apartment complex because she has EASY access. The neighboring property put up a fence to separate themselves from all the lack of respect that is being served on behalf of Wilhoit properties. As I am writing this email I just talked to another resident whose car was broken into last night. My neighbor had to replace her whole vehicle and pay $1000 deductible, and rent was still expected. Still no response from Wilhout. Our complex has one full time employee that is very active in helping. But, there is only ONE of her. NOW, the lease I signed stated that I would get card access to gates that will be closed, I have never received ANY SUCH cards and asked neighbors if they do not have any knowledge of such cards. Gated access was one of the MAIN reasons I chose to live here. Yes, crime happens everywhere but with the presence of SECURITY AND THE PROMISED GATED ACCESS, the residences of Costa Vizcaya will feel safer. My lease is up in February and I am feeling stuck, and that is something that I will not allow myself to be. I have called both property management numbers to no avail. Just to clarify, the numbers are [protected], and [protected]. Something needs to be done, there are two important factors about the lease I signed. One is the liability clause, and second the fact that I should have access cards that allow me to leave and enter the gates that should be closed. BU, the malfunctioning gates that are both wide open free to the public to come and steal anything they want, including cars. See all pics below, and feel free to call me at [protected]. IF I am working and paying rent on time then I need to feel safe, You can pay a licensed security guard and give us ACCESS cards to the gates and fix them. IT is on lease! I am at home because I just had to pay to get my car fixed and plus I missed work today, that'a a big loss for me.

Please see all that is attached, including an email who gave me permission to send with this as well. You will also see the videos of the guys that broke into my car, my police report and the damage that was done. ALSO, the clause on my lease about the access card to a fence that stays malfunctioned, that I never got. Lastly, just pics of open gates and the apartment complex upkeep.

They never answer the phone and when I tried to send an email they blocked me.

Claimed loss: Had to pay for window. ($120.00) And miss a whole 8 hours at work.
