brown toasted bread was not fresh and very oily, looked like yesterday's leftover that just got warmed.
We were given bread that was not fresh and very oily. Looked like yesterday's leftovers. Eggs were oily all over and had to be changed. We were asked to order something different to which we did not as we had waited for more than 30minutes to get the first order delivered. The wimpy referred herein is the one at Diamond Pavilion Mall in Kimberley Northern Cape.
smoking section and bathrooms
I have complained before in writing and face to face with the managers at Wimpy Lydenburg, but nothing is done to fix these things.
The smoking sections door does not close properly and all that secondhand smoke spills into the restaurant. Or the waiters do not close it. It is disgusting. They also do not put the extraction fan on because customers complain it is too cold for them.
Also the bathrooms are always in a mess and smells.
There hasn't been a proper towel holder or blower for years. You cannot tell me this expense cannot be covered. It is unsanitary. These should be top priority for a restaurant.

Today 28.02.2018 I bought a Grated chees, bacon and tomato omelette at Wimpy Rudan in Rustenburg.
First of all this portion will not even feed my 9 year old daughter, the portion is so small, I am very disappointed in this.
Second - on the menu they say grated cheese, well on my order I Received a 1 slice of processed cheese with 2 rashers of bacon an 1/10 of tomatoes?
How do you explain this as this "meal" costs R58.90...?
This is why I avoid going to Wimpy, the standards have dropped so much that I thought ok, today we will give them a change.
This is really not acceptable in any matter, I should have gone to Burger King or McDonalds and I would have got a bigger portion of food and better value for my money.
Wimpy will NOT see me again.

I ordered a chicken schnitzel and to my horror when it arrived, it was burnt, the person serving had a pathetic attitude, we drove from far to eat at this place as it is the closest to us that is Halaal, the manager only apologized in a very unprofessional manner. There was hair in the mushroom sauce given with the schnitzel, the calamari my husband had ordered was soggy, the chicken had no taste, the kiddies burgers ordered were ok I guess as they ate it but the baby's toasted chicken and mayo was sloppy and falling apart in the plate that even he didnt eat it. This was a terrible experience, absolutely pathetic and we had to pay R300.00 for CRAP.

On the 24th Feb. 2018 between 3.00 and 4.00pm, my wife and I decided to have a meal at Wimpy (Durban International Airport). The service we received was absolutely not professional what so ever. The waitress was totally devoid
of her duties to provide great service, she did not write down our order, hence
my wife ordered well-done eggs it came half done, my tea was served on a broken saucer the chips were cold, and all she does is a smile.The manager was great, he had to make my wife, s order himself.Not impressed

rotten food
Today at Wimpy Highveld in Centurion, I went for lunch with my colleagues at the office. Ordered our meals and drinks. I had ordered the hash stack burger. Received my burger and chips. I had eaten my chips as I picked up my burger, the cheese slices in the burger with green and moldy. I had taken photographic evidence of the food. The manager still wanted to charge me for the burger but refused then it was removed from the bill. Please send staff for training to check for rotten food. I am aware the owner of the Engine garage owns the Wimpy but please this is not right.
refuse to replace chips for healthier side
For the past 3years I have repeatedly asked Wimpy Ceres Western Cape store why I cannot have my chips replaced or removed on my meal order. I want to eat healthier, but this Wimpy store refuses whilst the Wimpy in Worcester (town 60km from Ceres) simply removes a chips portion from a meal & bill without hassle. I really like going to Wimpy, but I feel like this particular Wimpy store does not support healthy living.

We visited the Wimpy at Pretoriuskop in the Kruger National Park towards the end of December 2017. The restaurant was relatively quiet. We ordered two packets of takeaway chips and a milkshake. We waited 40 mins for our order! When we eventually received our order, the flavour of the milkshake was wrong and they had to rectify the matter. It is unacceptable to wait so long for just chips, especially if it was not even peak time.
take away toasted cheese & tomato sandwich
I wanted a take away toasted brown bread cheese & tomato sandwich so duly placed my order at the counter to a very indifferent staff member, around 15.45pm in the Boardwalk Mall. The price she asked for was R36.50 when clearly on the menu it stated R31.50! I queried the price so she said I was getting chips which I had definitely not asked for!
We sorted it out but when I came to eat this sandwich 5mins later, not only was it THE soggiest sandwich I have ever tried to eat but it was made with white bread when I several times said brown bread.
Even more enfuriating is finding plastic utensils in my, thankfully paper bag!
Where is Wimpys environmental conscience? At least ask customers whether they really need them, when using hands is easier & friendlier on the planet!
Hopefully someone will take note...

I am in total shock at the treatment I received from the owner of wimpy in Featherbrook Village, Ruimsig. I got in the Wimpy and a waitress came up to my table 30 seconds later asking for my order. I asked for a glass of lemon water and took out my laptop to start working (as per usual). A few minutes later the owner, Gavin, came to my table with a condescending attitude, confronted me abruptly and said that a few of his staff members are saying I never order food I always come to his store for the Internet and water. He called his manager and another waitress to attest to this. When I asked him which staff member are saying this, he proclaimed that it's all his staff members who are saying. I called one lady who had served me in the past to disagree with this statement as I was sure she would remember me from a few weeks back, but even she agreed to this statement. I was so shocked by this and told Gavin that his staff is being dishonest and that the last time I worked at the Wimpy I had a full size breakfast. He walked away and said he wants to be happy just as much as I want to be happy... Fuming with Anger, I called my banker and requested all my bank statements to prove that this is all lies, and indeed I found a transaction I had made to this particular Wimpy on the 5th December 2017. Immediately, I called the waitress who denied this and showed her, and told her never to lie like that again. I asked for the owner (Gavin) so that I could show him the bank statement and ask him to retract his abrupt assumptions and accusations, instead the Manager came to me and said Gavin is unavailable. I waited for an hour and asked one of the waitresses to call him again, he was now apparently in a "meeting". He kept me waiting for more that an hour. I was shocked by the fact that he was not bothered to come out of his office to address me promotly, in the sane manner he came lashing to my table to throw accusations at me. I'm completely appalled by this Wimpy owner (Gavin), on how he treated me and how he spoke to me, he basically non-verbally called me a lier... He eventually came over and when I told him I didn't appreciate how he was abrupt towards me, he stood up and said I am more than welcome to leave and that there's a million Wimpy's to choose from. He came back with a piece of paper and said I can call the head office if I want to (again, an indication of little regard for me as the customer). I'm appalled by this man's behavior and cannot believe that an excellent franchise like Wimpy would have owners who do not care about their customer's satisfaction. I will never go to this Wimpy again.

We went for a brunch at your Wimpy nearest to Makro Amanzimtoti. We had your burger special, burger with hasbrown, breakfast with stake and a mince bowl breakfast.

I am not familiar with rules and regulations concerning how a customer should be treated when they are ill but I must say surely some sort of consideration should be placed.. I travelled 2 hours and needed to stop urgently at the ladysmith whimpy as I was light headed and nauseous, in the blistering heat of a summers day I sat down to eat and ordered a milkshake to refresh myslef and hopefully cure the fatigue I was having.. to my utter dismay when I placed my head on the table for less then 30 seconds I was told I'm not allowed to do so... when I queried under wat circumstances am I not allowed to do so I didn't get much satisfaction or concern for my well being.. absolutely pathetic services.

My wife and I had breakfast at your Sandton City outlet on New Year's day and it was Chaos to say the least.
I am also in the hospitality and catering industry and I am all too aware of the difficulties of absent staff on public holidays and my heart goes out to the 3 waitrons on duty in what must be a 100 plus seater outlet? Apparently there were 8 rostered to work but 5 didn't pitch. They really tried their best to keep up but there were several people complaining all around us about waiting times and food being cold etc. I was a bit more patient and even though our food was late - it was delicious and hot. BUT - I had to clear my own table of the previous patrons dishes, the waitress used a dry cloth with no chemicals to clean the dried food off the surface (HACCP minimum), we asked for a baby seat - we asked more than once actually and the one we received was disgusting! I am an Executive Housekeeper of a 5 star hotel and so I am all too aware of the dangers of bacteria, body fluids and old food. This baby chair had PLENTY of all these. I have included pictures for your perusal.
I only saw the manager once - he was not cleaning tables nor interacting with guests nor assisting his poor stressed serving staff. Is it not his / her job to check on things such as cleaning of baby chairs or to lend a hand when short staffed? The only time he helped was to move tables when a large group of 8 arrived - but this is probably due to the fact that they were tourists and would spend a lot of money. Other than that - he was nowhere. An African American couple adjacent to us, complained to the waiter about the length of time it took for their iced coffees but there was no visit nor apology from the manager. A couple arrived next to us but walked out due to not being served.
Also - it was Monday so we specifically went to Wimpy to have the 2 for 1 breakfast but we were told it was not available on Public Holidays. This is unacceptable! A Monday is a Monday. PERIOD! You probably have a sneaky disclaimer on your adverts but it's always in small print! Very poor show guys!

I am a cliente after a longs night driving I stop by klaver wimpy and was highly dissuctsetd after back in the truck opening my take away parcel founding that all the food fell out and that because of putting the breakfast in round disk plates and putting it upside down and from when did wimpys dagwood only got one pattie and two pieces of bread I am very dissapointed in this servecs and this wil be the last that wimpy will see me I hope to year from you

I had an issue with wimpy sparks road in Durban about over a month ago, I contacted the store old them about my patties not being cooked, this issue went o for few weeks, I got a called from wimpy headoffice, they advised that I should go into the store and collect four complimentary burgers. I agreed. the owner fameeda contacted me that Friday and advised that wimpy headoffice said that they must hold on to the complimentary burgers till Monday, fameeda told me that she will call me on that Monday, which she did not, this matter is gone over a month ago. I have been sending numerous emails to the store and wimpy headoffice and no one seems interested in my case. I would like a full refund of my four burgers purchased immediately, dont want the complimentary burgers anymore because no one had the decency to contact me

unhygienic food preparation
Good Day
I was accompanied by 4 friends to the Wimpy in Murchies Arcade, West Street, Durban for breakfast today (20/12/2017). After nearly consuming most of the meals ordered, my colleague found what we believed to be a tuft/weave of hair in her meal. We immediately brought it to the attention of the manager (Patience) who whisked away her plate and returned to provide an explanation that the offending item was merely 'stuff' that was found in mushrooms. I requested that I get an oppurtunity to photograph the offending item to which I was given the run around and then told by Phindile that I will not be allowed to do so. I then spoke to MDU who was the alleged owner who chose to speak directly to my colleague who found the item on her plate and advised that the offending item was disposed of and that it was from the mushrooms that they purchase. There was nothing that he could further do as his staff had dispensed with the offending items in the garbage.
I was deprived of the oppurtunity to provide any photographic proof of the incident and it made me suspicious of the explanation provided as to substantiation that the offending item was the residue from the mushrooms.
The entire managements behavior was unsavory to say the least and it disappoints me to note their lack of accountability for the unhygienic food preparation.
I expected nothing more than the acknowledgement of the fact.
double payment
I have been struggling with your Cape Town International Airport Landside Wimpy for more than 3 weeks now regarding a double payment. My last email had stated that I wanted it resolved bt end of today, this was on Friday (2 days ago), and it is now going for 17h00.
My family and I ate lunch at stated Wimpy on 30/11/2017, and struggled to pay. First 2 times the ABSA card was rejected but the third time the Nedbank card allowed payment. When arriving home we received an sms that indicated that the one ABSA payment had also gone through.
I am requesting that 1x R458.30 be paid back to me by end of day Wednesday 20/12/2017 as this problem seems impossible for Riaaz Khan to solve despite several attempts from my side to resolve it. Several emails and 2 phone calls later he has yet to do anything.
Below I have attached all my correspondace with him as well as proof of double payments.

Morning..
We are now at wimpy 1 stop Colesberg.
When we arrived at wimpy we were shown to our table friendly but thats were thegood service stoped.
We had to ask for services... that we already waited 15min for a waiter...
In waiting for our food al lady ask us to leave because they are busy and need the table.
Waitingit approximately 35min for food and had to ask where is our drinks...
We complained and ask the manager each time. Firstly for the waiter secondly for our food. And then where is the drinks.
When we asked about a comprise he just walk away pulling up his shoulders. Now he is avoiding our table.

My wife and I had the most terrible experience at the above mentioned Wimpy branch this afternoon. We entered the restaurant and was not even escorted to our table. A waitress by the name of Phumi came to our table with a long face. My wife asked her if she is tired because she approached us with a long face and did not even smile or answer her. She turned around and asked her colleague to assist us. I went to the front and complaint to the Manager about her attitude. The Manager just said that she is a problem and that they received numerous complaints about her. So I asked her what are they doing about it, but she just shrugged her shoulders. This is most pathetic service ever. My wife and I left the restaurant to go to another. Please can someone do something about this, because if you don't, you will be out of business sooner than you think.

Today we went to have breakfast at Wimpy Louis Trichardt. We waited for almost an hr to get a waitress and it was not even busy. We decided to call a pregnant waitress who came to asssit us, when Jeofrey came to ask if we fine we told him we were waiting for someone to assist us.
Regardless of waiting for an hr we were calm and still waited a further 20min for her to take our order. When she came we ordered a drink and waited for 45 min for that drink.
The pregnant lady apologized and we were still very ok. Jeofrey comes and gives us an attitude, he belittled is so much it was annoying again we never said anything I just told him he should never be rude to us when we being extremely polite regardless of the pathetic poor service we received.
We paid and still gave the 10% tip but that guy was so rude it was pathetic
