This company is a scam
This company is a scam. They charged me way too much for their services. Their estimate was way higher than what other companies were offering. I think they just make up prices to rip people off. Be careful if you decide to use them!
My girl called these guys to help with electrical stuff
My girl called these guys to help with electrical stuff... they charged her $350 for a DIAGNOSTIC FEE, $319 for an EMERGENCY DISPATCH FEE (TWICE!) coz they didn't fix it the first time, and kept trying to sell her other stuff to fix different things in her house costing $200+ each thing. They weren't clear, didn't help when she asked if they could waive her fee, and her final bill was over $1,000+ for fixing a light switch and a breaker switch, and then just told her that her only issue was too many space heaters plugged into the wrong areas. This is ripping people off and taking advantage of them in a crisis, and I'm super bummed. Will NEVER tell anyone to use this company.
Don't use this company
Don't use this company. They charged me $411 for the service call and their Level 1 diagnostic fee. They told me about their diagnostic fee upfront and asked if it ever got reduced. They didn't give me an option to replace affected breakers, but they gave me options for total breaker and total breaker box solutions ranging from $5K to $7K. They told me to file a claim with my homeowners insurance and said they offer 18 months financing to help with payments while insurance claim is being settled. The technician offered to write a letter on my behalf to help get the claim approved. I spoke with a service manager asking for a partial refund as I felt $411 for 45 minutes and no actual work done was excessive. I gave them a chance to make it right, but they chose not to give me a refund citing I was told about the diagnostic fee upfront. When you have two breakers not working, you trust your service professional. These folks are not ethical! I wrote a review on their website and they took it down. I've posted a second time, so we shall see if that too gets taken down.
These guys are crazy!
These guys are crazy! Watch out! I had these dudes come to my crib in *** to do a lil job of switchin' out six outlets with GFCI, addin' four breakers to the box, and fixin' the polarity that some other electrician messed up years ago. I got a few different bids from other companies, and the highest one was $2,123.00. But these fools told me they were gonna charge me $15,000.00! And they even offered to re-wire my whole *** sq Ft house for a whopping total of just over $24,000.00! The average cost of wiring a brand new house (the whole thing, an average size of *** sq Ft) is like $9,000.00 (you can look that up if you want). Obviously, I told them to kick rocks and not do the work. But I'm worried about all the old folks who don't know any better and can't research this scam. How many of them have already been ripped off or will be in the future? How many will feel like they gotta dip into their life savings to pay these crazy prices? Somebody needs to stop this mess ASAP. And on top of all that, they charge a $65.00 service fee just to come inside and check things out. BEWARE!
I called WireOne and they scheduled an appt
I called WireOne and they scheduled an appt. for me quickly, but they didn't fix the problem the same day like they said they would. The electrician diagnosed the problem and ordered supplies, but it took them two weeks to finish the job. They shut off the power late afternoon and we were without heat or lights for two hours. I asked for a discount, but they said no. WireOne increased the deposit without telling me. They are inexperienced, shady, and overpriced. Don't hire them.
I had Wire One install a wall mounted heater for $1,100
I had Wire One install a wall mounted heater for $1,100. The first technician didn't install an adjustable thermostat, so a second technician came and said it would cost $867 to run a 220 wire and install a new electrical box with a thermostat. After starting the job, the second technician realized it was a simpler job that only required a small electrical junction box and no 220 volt wire. The electrician didn't have a thermostat, so I offered to buy one for $21 at Menards, but he insisted on buying it himself. I called Wire One and spoke with Jayden, the operations manager, and explained that I was overcharged. I paid $865.60 for a 10-minute job that should have cost much less. I asked for a partial refund, but Jayden declined and wouldn't let me speak with his supervisor. When I asked for the owner's name, Jayden was rude and refused to give me the contact information. I later found out the owner's name is Jake Wheeler. I want a refund for the overcharged and misleading services.
I gotta say, I had a switch installed for my garbage disposal (just the switch and outlet, not the disposal itself) by WireOne and I gotta agree
I gotta say, I had a switch installed for my garbage disposal (just the switch and outlet, not the disposal itself) by WireOne and I gotta agree with the other folks on ComplaintsBoard.com. They told us we had to pay $69 upfront, which would go towards the work they did (otherwise we'd have to pay a lot more for them to come to our house). They said this fee covered the electrician coming to our house and making sure they had all the supplies they needed for the job. I gotta give them props for sending us a pic of the employee who was gonna come to our house and for the employee calling to ask if they could come earlier since they finished their last job early. The guy who came was really nice and we talked about what we wanted quoted. The quotes came out to over $3k and didn't even include a "home safety inspection". But get this, they didn't even have the parts they needed! They said they needed another employee to help and made it sound like it was gonna be a really tough job. But when the other employee/s came, it only took them an hour to finish the job. Like other folks on ComplaintsBoard.com have said, they claim to be transparent with their costs and what work needs to be done, but I gotta disagree! They're a total ripoff! After some friends told us that the price seemed way too high, we did some research and found out that what they did should've only cost between $300-$500 (remember, we already had the disposal, just not the switch). But we ended up paying over $1000! Watch out, they might seem "upfront/transparent" but they're using shady practices to trick you into using their company. And what's with the idea that more projects means lower cost? Plus, we were dealing with the Derecho in our area, so local companies were prioritizing emergency needs (which makes sense). We weren't technically an emergency, we just wanted the project done before we did the repairs from the storm. I really think this company needs to change the way they bill and estimate before they get even more complaints and go out of business.
I used WireOne for the second time on October 15, and it fixed our issue
I used WireOne for the second time on October 15, and it fixed our issue. But on October 28, they billed our account without proper notification, causing two decline notices on my account. They charged my checking account for $300.00 without prior notice. Later, I received an email saying their technician messed up our payment on the 15th, so they processed it on the 28th. They processed it as a credit card when it was a debit card. I work for a top bank and know Visa Billing processes. WireOne disregarded Visa Billing Regulations by not notifying me of the billing over 10 days later. When I called to speak with someone in their billing department, I found out that it was the owner's wife who processed this payment. The billing representative was heated and yelled at me and asked inappropriate questions. After speaking with a different manager, they offered me a $50 credit on a future service, but that was all. I told them to bill it and remove my personal account information from their system. I will not be doing any further business with this company due to the terrible customer service.
I called WireOne to check out my dishwasher electrical line that stopped working
I called WireOne to check out my dishwasher electrical line that stopped working. They told me it would be $69, and the price could go up depending on the work needed. The technician was friendly and did a safety inspection of the house. He said we had $12,000 in safety issues that needed fixing. He tried to pressure my wife into doing all these additional things. He spent several minutes shaming her about our breaker panel being in a spare bedroom in the basement. Before they did any work, he said the price would be $518. They spent an hour and a half and didn't fix the problem. They said it would be another $1500 to run a new line. He got lucky and jiggled a line somewhere, and we temporarily had power to the dishwasher again. He said there would be no guarantee or warranty with it. I'm okay paying a fee for someone to research a problem, but not okay with spending $518 for someone to lecture my wife about all the issues we have going on at our house. He was mainly interested in up-selling their safety inspection items and not helping us figure out what we called them for in the first place. He tried pressuring my wife to proceed with the items on the list without talking to me. He agreed to lower the price by taking off some items to cheapen the price if she signed right then and there. This is shady! Their "keep it safe" inspection is a scam to pressure and guilt you into overpriced services under the guise of safety. Our house was built in the 70s, and codes change over time. But when I call you to fix an electrical line, and you charge me $518 to not fix it and then try to guilt my wife into $12,000 of additional repairs, you're going to get a 1-star review.

The dude who worked on my house didn't have the right breaker to replace my old one
The dude who worked on my house didn't have the right breaker to replace my old one. I paid up front for the job and the $69 fee for him to come out. He said he'd come back when he had the part. A few days later, his assistant called me up and said they had the part and set a date to come back. I took off work and then they called me up later that day and said they had an emergency and had to reschedule. I took off work again and then right before they were supposed to come out, they said they didn't have the part after all. They said they'd call me when they got it, but I said no thanks. Then a couple weeks later, I got another bill for $69 for the trip charge and $29 for some vague parts fee. They said I still owed them money and when I asked to talk to a manager, they said no one was around and they'd call me back when they felt like it.
Had this company come out to my house on 9/25 to give me a quote for hooking up my hot tub
Had this company come out to my house on 9/25 to give me a quote for hooking up my hot tub. They charged me $69 for the quote, but when they gave me the price to hook it up, it was crazy high - $1,754! I had just installed a new geothermal heating and cooling system, so my old outdoor A/C unit was removed, and that's where the hot tub was, so the existing electrical connection could be used. The tech even confirmed that the old *** connection is what he would use. No wire back to the breaker panel, no new breaker since the one in the panel for the *** unit was big enough. He just needed to install a *** quick disconnect at the junction box that was already there and then connect it to the conduit that was already connected to the hot tub and ready to be wired into the *** circuit. So we're looking at $150 of materials and about an hour of labor at the most. I've owned a ton of rental properties and have done a lot of renovation projects. This should have been $300 or so. When the tech presented me with a quote for $1,754, I thought it was a joke. Seriously, he was a nice guy, so I thought he was pulling my leg. I also asked them to look at a generator hook up, and the price was equally high. Anyway, this company's way of doing business is to charge you the $69 fee, which they credit back to the work if they get it. But before they come out, you have no idea how unreasonable their price is going to be. I expected a fair quote for the work and for the $69 I paid for the quote. I'm not sure if they ever do any work or just collect $69 to overprice it by like 5X. If the price was fair and I just decided not to do the work, that was one thing, but this is price gouging and taking advantage of people. I simply want the $69 refunded, and if they resolve this, I won't make a public complaint or review.
