I had two websites hosted on Wix. We moved one to a self-hosted WordPress server for additional functionality. The site that was moved had been accidentally upgraded to the Ascend plan and cancelled the same day. We were charged 2x for the same website: twice for the Ascend plan and 1x for Business unlimited. (There is no record of approving the Business Unlimited plan other than the invoices even though everything else with Wix has automated email confirmations.) We opened a ticket to cancel "the subscription" and only one of the two charges for the Ascend plan was refunded.
Unfortunately our billing and IT departments did not catch the errors as we did have one active Wix site. We continued to be charged for the Business Unlimited plan for 2 years as an "Unassigned subscription". I noticed it when I went into the account to update the payment method. I contacted Wix support who refused to refund the unauthorized charges and said they can't produce evidence of the purchase authorization because they don't keep records 3 years old. I am so furious that I will go to significantly more expense to file a BBB complaint and migrate the existing site to Squarespace where we host our other site out of principle bc of their unethical business practices and poor customer service.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of the charges for "unassigned subscription" that were billed for a service that I never received and have no record of ever purchasing/authorizinig.
