Excellent Service
A big hunt had been in action for some years to hunt down a book published in 1945, written by my mother's cousin (An Australian War Correspondent in China and London prior to and the beginnings of Communism in China, the Japanese Invasion and during WWII. The book has not been republished in many a year. WOB has been been my No1 source to occasionally check in the hope of a second hand book appearing. Miracles happen?it was there, I couldn't believe my eyes. Bought instantly, delivered within 2/3 days. Well packed as always and hardback in very good/excellent condition. Thank you WOB. You always come up with the goods. My mind is at peace now and I will be delving into the book to learn a lot of the history prior to and beginning of Communism in China.
Excellent service
I usually buy large print books from a large
varied selection, for my mum, from this site, as they are difficult to find in charity shops. She is always delighted with them.
Recently I also bought several autobiographies for my dad as he was stuck in bed after a long stint in hospital, he is now back to thoroughly enjoying reading again, which is nice to see, so I will buy more for him.
I volunteer in a charity bookshop who actually send books to Wob, but in the last week I have also bought 4 books for myself as well, as I wanted a particular book and couldn't wait for it to eventually wend its way to our shop! Looking forward to reading it on holiday
Full marks for prompt delivery, books have always been clean and in good condition, prices are fairly competitive especially as it's free delivery with no minimum spend, which is worth a bit in itself.
The only thing I don't like is, your name! World of books was much nicer and very apt!

Best pre-loved book options!
I am a huge fan of World of Books. I came across them when searching for a book on eBay, and since then I use their website directly. I have been buying all of my books here for the past year, both for myself and as gifts. Every time I need/want a new book, I first search in World of Books and they almost usually have it! Their website is very easy to navigate and they have so many options. I have never had any problems with them, and books always arrive on time (maximum a week after purchase). Obviously you are buying a second-hand product, so what you receive is not new, but I am generally very happy with the condition of all of the books.
World of Books is a great option if you are trying to be more eco-friendly and are keen on a more circular economy. They buy from local charities, donate and recycle any books they can't sell, and keep millions of books from ending up in landfills. And it's good for your pocket too. I couldn't be happier for discovering them!
Superb Service
I am a retired special education teacher with a love of reading. I live in Chesterfield, on the edge of the Peak District and am at my happiest sitting in the shelter of a drystone wallI, with a flask of tea, with a new book to read. I have bought books and DVDs from WOB and have found their service second to none. Apart from their ability to redistribute these items, giving them a second (or third) life, which is something we should all embrace, but the variety and choice is fantastic. And as they are so affordable, it has allowed me to investigate unfamiliar genres and authors, without the fear of wasting money.
Just started on Robert Macfarland's "Landmarks", which is so far enchanting, and have finished Roger Deakin's "Waterlogged", which is a book I came upon by chance, on WOB and is a fascinating essay exploring the English love of open water. This, along with my continued exploration of 20th century British poetry, has me down as a now regular customer, and enthusiastic acolyte of WOB.
In love with this website!
I stumble upon world of books about 6 months ago looking for a second-hand book provider. I love books and reading and my local second-hand bookshops shut between 4 or 5 in the evening, which is usually when I finish work myself, so in a way it has been a godsend. The books arrive on time (sometimes one order may arrive in different deliveries depending on how many books you ordered in one go), they have near enough everything and their stock is updated regularly. You're allowed up to 100 books on your wishlist too.
Most of the books on my bookshelf are from world of books.
They're a reliable and trustworthy website too (which is what I always want to know when I first buy from a new website). Their customer service is great and they have responded to past e-mails quite quickly and resolved any issues I had. They re-sell preloved books, which is great because it's environmentally friendly so it's a win win all round. Books are being re-used and not dumped, which means less trees are being cut down and I save money on books!
The ONLY downsides are they don't have EVERY book ever- but does any bookshop? And some books don't include a blurb or review. But that's not a huge deal.
'Colossus' by B.Jack Copeland & Others (Codebreaking, World War II.)
This is a review of the paperback edition, published March 2010.
The setting for this book is the Government Code & Cypher School, better known as Bletchley Park. 'Colossus' describes Bletchley's success against a more advanced and more secure German cypher machine than Enigma, which Bletchley codenamed 'Tunny'. The production of this book was only made possible after British Intelligence declassified a crucial 500 page wartime report in June 2000.
From 1942 Hitler and the German High Command in Berlin relied increasingly on Tunny to protect their communications with Army Group Commands across Europe. And Colossus? This was the world's first large scale electronic computer built in 1943, whose function was central to Bletchley's attack on Tunny. The name was apt; it weighed approximately a ton, was the size of a small room, and by the end of the war in Europe in May 1945 ten more of these Colossi had been built.
This book is a veritable goldmine of information, with the thoughts of 31 contributors distilled into 26 chapters, and for those wishing to dig deeper there are also 12 technical appendices. I was pleased to see that the contribution of the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS) and the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) to Bletchley's war effort has been duly recognised in this book.
Misleading Advertising and Tedious Return Policy: My Unpleasant Experience with Wob Canada
I recently had an extremely unpleasant experience with Wob (wob.com), an online retailer that sells used books. As a fervent book lover, I decided to purchase a used book for my friend's Christmas gift. I placed my order through wobcanada on Amazon.ca, and the book was listed as being in "good condition" with a photo of the book to confirm this.
However, when the book arrived, my friend was shocked to discover that it was a tattered old rag with no dust cover, contrary to the photo in the listing. When I contacted Wob to complain about this, their response was that the book's description clearly stated that there would be no dust cover. Upon going back to the description, I found that this was indeed true. In the small print, it stated "no dust cover".
I found it unfair that the book had been advertised with a photo of it including a dust cover, which was, in fact, a stock photo that Amazon uses, according to Wob. Personally, I found this to be misleading and false advertising on their part, and it left me feeling quite frustrated and disappointed with the whole experience.
To make matters worse, when I tried to return the book due to its terrible condition, I discovered that I would have to return it to... the UK! This was despite the fact that I had bought the book through wobCANADA on the CANADIAN Amazon. The return procedure, furthermore, would have required me to pay for shipping myself, making it a pricey, and unreasonable process.
In my opinion, Wob is definitively not worth the trouble or expense. They seem to get away with selling worn out, low-quality items for much more than they are worth, and their return policy makes it nearly impossible to get any satisfaction or resolution to your concerns. If you are looking to buy used books, I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere - you could end up shelling out three times the price for sheer rubbish!
Beware of worldofbooks.com (Wob) - A Review of Their Poor Services
If you're looking to buy books online, you might want to steer clear of Wob (also known as worldofbooks.com). This company has received a lot of negative reviews, and unfortunately, my own experience wasn't any better.
First of all, they took my money for a book that I never received. They lied about where it was coming from and then ignored my attempts to contact them about the situation. I even gave them a chance to make it right, but they refused to help me and wouldn't issue a refund. Instead, I had to go through the stressful process of trying to get my money back through eBay refunds.
What's even more frustrating is that this seems to be a common problem with Wob. Many other customers have had similar issues with delayed shipments, poor book quality, and unresponsiveness from the company. Some people have reported receiving books that were in terrible condition, despite being listed as "good" or "excellent."
Now, I know that mistakes can happen, but when they do, a good company will step up and make it right. Wob clearly isn't interested in doing that. It seems like they're more interested in getting as many customers as possible and making a quick profit, even if it means ripping people off and not delivering on their promises.
In the end, I learned my lesson. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I'll be doing my book shopping elsewhere from now on, and I recommend you do the same. Don't waste your time and money on a company that clearly doesn't care about its customers' satisfaction.
Misleading listing and inadequate response from seller on abebooks purchase: my review of worldofbooks
I recently made a purchase on abebooks through worldofbooks, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the condition of the used book that I received. The listing indicated that the book was in excellent condition, with intact pages and no notes or highlighting. However, upon receiving the book, I discovered that it had extensive highlighting throughout and some occasional handwritten notes in the margins. I feel that this was quite misleading given the listing, and I was understandably disappointed.
When I reached out to the seller for a refund, they requested that I provide photos documenting the issues, which I did. However, the response I received was less than satisfactory. They offered to refund me only 40% of the purchase price, which to me felt inadequate given the book's true condition. I felt as though I had already spent enough time trying to resolve the issue, and I ultimately decided to move on.
Despite my personal experience, I felt it was important to leave a review for others to consider before making a purchase from this bookseller. In my opinion, it's essential to be aware that the condition of the books they sell may not always match what's in the listing. Furthermore, it seems as though the seller may try to drag things out and offer smaller refunds rather than fully addressing the issue, which is certainly a violation of abebooks' policy.
Because of this experience, I would recommend that others avoid this seller and opt for a more reliable option. While I can't speak for every purchase made through worldofbooks, I do believe that it's important to minimize your risk and trust your instincts when it comes to buying used books online.
Misleading product description and poor customer service from Wob.com seller
As a customer of Wob (wob.com), I was disappointed to receive a book that was not in the condition described by the seller. Despite the item being listed as "very good condition", the book was actually in poor quality. Naturally, I felt as though I had been misled and taken advantage of.
After contacting the seller and requesting a refund, I was incredibly disappointed by their response. Firstly, they demanded pictures of the book as if to imply that I was being deceitful about its condition. This was particularly frustrating given that I had already been let down by their inaccurate description of the item.
After submitting the requested images, I was left in the dark for some time. When I reached out to the seller again, they informed me that they were planning to send me a replacement copy. However, given my experience up to that point, I had no faith in their ability to provide a satisfactory product. I therefore declined the offer of a replacement and requested my money back.
Unfortunately, the seller simply ignored my request for a refund and stopped responding to my emails. I believe that this is not acceptable conduct for any seller, and it certainly did not leave me with a positive impression of Wob (wob.com).
In future, I would advise potential customers of this site to be cautious when dealing with sellers, particularly if they are not able to provide clear and accurate descriptions of the items they are selling. It is essential that customers are able to trust the sellers they are dealing with, and in this instance, that was not the case.
I would still like to receive a refund for my purchase, and I hope that the appropriate measures can be taken to ensure that this matter is resolved as soon as possible.
Disappointing Customer Service: My Experience with Wob.com for Second-Hand Books
As a first-time user of Wob (wob.com), I was initially thrilled to find a website that offered second-hand books that my 7-year-old was interested in, which couldn't be found new. However, my experience with their customer service has been disappointing overall, and I am unlikely to use the website again.
I placed an order for 3 books at the beginning of November, and while I was notified that one was being sent, I received notifications over the course of a few days that the other two were damaged. The customer representative provided me with the option to select replacements or receive a refund. While I went back and forth with the customer rep, I eventually chose 3 books that were to be of the same value as the two I couldn't receive.
However, two weeks later, I received 2 different books which I hadn't requested. I then reached out to customer service and was informed that they only do one-for-one replacements. Therefore, as the books sent were of lesser value than the ones I'd requested and paid for, a refund was out of the question.
This entire process took almost 6 weeks, with only one book that I had actually asked for. I feel that if this policy was made clearer at any point, I would have immediately requested a refund and not wasted my time selecting replacements.
While customer service attempted to rectify the situation, the entire experience left me feeling disappointed. I believe their messaging around replacements and refunds needs improvement, and as a result, I cannot recommend Wob (wob.com) to others.
WorldOfBooks.com.au Review: Poor Quality Product and Terrible Customer Service During COVID-19 Lockdown
During the COVID-19 lockdown, I went online to search for a birthday gift for my friend. After browsing through the available options, I decided to purchase a book from WorldOfBooks.com.au, an Australian website that I thought was based in Australia. However, I was disappointed to learn that they are actually based in the UK, which was not made clear at the time of purchase. This resulted in a four-week wait for the book to be shipped and delivered.
To my dismay, I found that the book was not properly protected in the packaging and had suffered significant damage during shipping. The hard cover spine was damaged, and the paper dust cover had stains and damages on not just one but all sides! It was unbelievable! Considering that I thought I had purchased a new book, it was shocking to discover that it was actually a secondhand book. The website listed the condition of the book as "very good," which, as it turned out, did not align with what most others would consider to be very good.
The poor condition of the book made it un-giftable. I would've been too embarrassed to give it to my friend unless I removed the dust cover and explained that it was damaged during packaging.
When I reached out to their customer service team, my experience was just as dreadful. They were unresponsive, unhelpful, and failed to address my concerns. Their only solution was to ask me to ship the book back to them to avail a full refund, which did not seem like a cost-effective option due to the shipping cost and time involved.
In conclusion, I'd advise anyone looking to purchase a book online to steer clear of WorldOfBooks.com.au, as it was an absolute joke to deal with them.
Warning: Terrible Experience with Wob.com - Stay Far Away
I recently ordered two music CDs from Wob.com and unfortunately my experience has not been a positive one. While they offer free shipping, I have yet to receive either of my items. I only received a PayPal payment acknowledgement for one of the CDs and only one of my purchases is listed under my account, despite receiving "order shipped" emails for both. Unfortunately, there is no tracking information available anywhere and when I reached out to their support team on February 8th, I received an auto-response indicating that they were on a short break for the Christmas period and would only respond on December 28th. This was obviously very concerning since it was already February and I was left wondering if I had just been scammed.
After leaving a negative review, I did receive a response which provided two tracking numbers, but unfortunately, both packages seem to be lost in transit. Despite my concerns and frustrations, WorldOfBooks' response was simply to tell me to sit and wait. When I emailed their actual contact address I received a delayed response, which makes me wonder if the company is running a scam and is trying to avoid negative publicity.
In the end, I never received my CDs and had to threaten to file a dispute with PayPal to finally receive a refund. My recommendation is to stay away from Wob.com and save yourself the hassle and frustration.
Great Selection and Quality Books from Wob.com: A Review
I came across Wob.com after stumbling upon a booktok video featuring an unboxing of books purchased from the site. Upon seeing that they shipped to my country, I decided to take a chance and order some books myself. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a great selection of books that I was interested in, and at reasonable prices.
In total, I ordered four books, three of which were described as being in "very good" condition and one as "like new". I was pleased to find that the books I received were indeed in excellent condition, given their descriptions. I even managed to get my hands on an old Gypsy Lady book from 1977 or 1978, which had been a long-time search of mine. The book certainly showed signs of its age with some cracking on the spine but I don't mind, as I was just happy to finally have that edition.
Additionally, I ordered two Hulk Hogan books, which were near perfect, with only a slight curve on the hardback. Lastly, the book by The Rock was described as "like new", but arrived slightly diagonal, though it was something I could easily fix. All in all, I was quite pleased with the quality of the books I received.
The shipping cost of 2 pounds per book, and my order arrived within 15 working days, which I was also happy with given the long wait times from some other book sellers. However, it was a shame to hear that some of my friends were unable to order from the site, as they no longer ship to Serbia. Hopefully, they will resume shipping to my country soon.
In summary, my experience with WOB was certainly positive, and I would not hesitate to order from them again.
Disappointing Experience with Wob on Abebooks: Book Not as Described, Refund Delayed
I recently had an experience with purchasing a used book from Wob on Abebooks.com. I was excited to receive the book, which was listed as in "excellent condition" with "no notes or highlighting" and a "undamaged spine." Unfortunately, when the book arrived, it was in far worse condition than described.
The book was so badly warped that it was impossible for it to lay flat on a table, let alone stand up on its own. I was disappointed that I had received a product that was so far from the advertised condition, and felt that I was entitled to a refund under Abebooks policy.
I followed the necessary procedures for a return and refund, which included taking photographs of the condition of the book and sending it back to the seller. Throughout this process, I received a series of emails from Wob requesting additional information, which made me feel that they were stalling for time.
Finally, a support person agreed that the book was not in the condition advertised and offered for me to choose another book from their store. I declined this offer, as I had already sent the book back and requested a refund of the cost of the book and my shipping costs.
Although I was told I would receive a refund, I have yet to see it appear in my account. Despite my attempts to follow up with both Wob and Abebooks support, ten days have gone by without resolution. I hope to update my review in the future with a positive outcome, but unfortunately I cannot recommend Wob based on my experience.
WorldOfBooks on AbeBooks Review: Nightmare Customer Service Experience
I recently purchased a book from WorldOfBooks on AbeBooks, and unfortunately, my experience with their service has been nothing short of a nightmare. Although the book was inexpensive, the shipping fee was surprisingly expensive. However, this wasn't my biggest concern.
After placing my order on March 23rd, the estimated time of arrival was listed as May 3rd, which seemed like an unnecessarily long wait. When the package hadn't arrived by May 10th, I contacted WorldOfBooks support to inquire about the tracking information. Unfortunately, I was told that there was no tracking service available, which seemed odd considering the year is 2019 and virtually every other site offers this as a bare minimum level of service. I was then instructed to search through the local post office agencies to see if it had gotten lost- which was frustrating to say the least.
Upon asking for the postal office location to look for my package, I did not receive an answer. Any helpful information that they could have provided to resolve this issue would have been appreciated, but none was given. With each slow email reply, my frustration grew.
Eventually, customer support offered me either a refund or a new copy of the book. However, I explained that I would only consider the refund since I was skeptical about losing a second package due to their lack of tracking service or any proof of shipping. I was willing to compromise but did not want to risk losing out twice.
Despite agreeing to the refund and being told that it was processed and complete, my credit card balance remained unchanged. I reached out to them again, and they responded saying that the refund was made five days prior. However, I still haven't received it. With no signs of my refund and a lack of updates from customer service, I feel that I am at a loss.
It's disappointing that an otherwise reputable book-selling website can't provide basic levels of service to their customers. I would expect at least a tracking number or information about the postal office used to ship the package. At this point, I doubt that I'll ever get the book or my money back, which is a frustrating and disappointing experience for me. I do not recommend buying from WorldOfBooks and will not be using their service again myself.

Disappointing Experience with WoB: Delayed Delivery, Unexpected Fees, and Poor Customer Service
I have had a few experiences with WoB, and unfortunately, my most recent one left me feeling quite disappointed. I placed an order in mid-October 2021 and, to my surprise, I have yet to receive all of the books I ordered. I observed nothing on the website that indicated I would be responsible for paying import fees, which came as a surprise. The books I ordered were halted by customs in NL and required an invoice from WoB to release. After reaching out to customer service, Paul stated that an invoice could only be provided once the books were delivered. If customs was returning them to the UK, they still needed the invoice, which seemed like an impossible situation. In this situation, I received no assistance from WoB's customer service team. My order value was 64 pounds, which had already been charged to my credit card, so why was it impossible to provide an invoice?
Moreover, of the 13 books that I had ordered, I had only received eight. It dawned on me that one of the books, "Help Mum" by Bernadino Evaristo, had initially cost 1.99 pounds, but I paid 2.39 pounds for it. This was particularly concerning as it seemed like I was overcharged.
Overall, it was an extremely unpleasant and frustrating experience dealing with WoB. As a customer, I felt unsupported and neglected, particularly by their customer service team. Unfortunately, I will not be placing any more orders with WoB in the future, and I have opted out of their subscription service. I hope they improve their communication and customer service to prevent others from experiencing these issues in the future.
Disappointed with Book Quality from Wob.com: Importance of Attention to Detail in Product Descriptions
Recently, I purchased a book from Wob.com to gift to a friend for the upcoming holiday season. Unfortunately, I found that the book was not of gift-worthy quality. Upon receipt, I noticed bubbling in one corner of the book cover and pages that did not sit flat. It appeared as though the book had suffered light water damage. Additionally, a large Wob sticker was applied to the back cover, covering up an unsightly pricing label.
Despite the fact that the book I ordered was a newer title, I felt that describing the item as new was quite hopeful. As a result, I decided to re-order the gift from a different book supplier. Meanwhile, I've decided to keep the book to read for myself as I found it a pity to throw it away.
It's worth noting, as a long-time user of Wob, I've always been satisfied with their services. However, in the future, it would be advantageous for Wob to pay closer attention to detail when describing the condition of their products. Although it's admirable for companies to practice recycling, doing so at the expense of harming the customer's delightful experience is neither sustainable nor reasonable.
In summary, I had a negative experience with Wob for the first time, albeit I was disappointed with the overall quality of the product I received. Nevertheless, the lesson learned is that it's important to prioritize attention to detail when describing the condition of items sold to customers. Despite this one bad experience, I still value Wob's services and anticipate them meeting the expectations set by the company's reputation.
Wob (wob.com) Review: Disappointing Service and Lack of Communication
My experience with Wob (wob.com) was quite disappointing. I was trying to purchase a book for my father and proceeded with the payment. Unfortunately, that was the last I heard from them. After about a week and a half, I contacted them to inquire about the status of the order, only to find out that they had to cancel it because the book was out of stock. It was truly frustrating that they didn't have the decency to inform me about this beforehand. To add insult to injury, I was told that it would take 3-5 days for the refund to be processed.
Despite their apology for the inconvenience caused, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the whole experience. While they do offer items at slightly cheaper prices, I realized that it's not worth it if you end up not receiving your order and have to reorder elsewhere. Initially, I wasn't planning to write a review about it, but when I received an invitation from Wob to do so, I thought that I should share my below-average experience with others so that they can make an informed decision.
Overall, Wob's service left a lot to be desired, and I wouldn't recommend them. While it's true that mistakes can happen, the lack of communication and the delay in the refund process were unacceptable. I hope that my review can help others avoid a similar disappointing experience.

Beware of Wob (wob.com): Poor Condition Product and Awful Customer Service
I recently had a disappointing experience with Wob (wob.com), an online retailer of books and DVDs. I purchased a second-hand DVD box set that was described as being in "Very Good Condition," but upon receiving the item, it was clear that the condition was far from what was advertised. The box had sellotape holding it together, and all three DVD cases were broken, with torn and punctured sleeves. In my opinion, this was indicative of a "Poor Condition" product, not one that could be described as "Very Good Condition."
I reached out to World of Books to express my concerns, but regrettably, I have yet to receive a response, despite the fact that they have read my email, as I received a read receipt. To make matters worse, I attempted to contact the company several times via phone, but was left ringing for ten minutes with no one answering my call.
I feel that it's important to warn potential customers that this company has an alarming record of poor after-sales service and customer relations, in addition to selling faulty items. In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend Wob (wob.com) as a trustworthy online retailer. I strongly advise you to be very careful if you might consider purchasing from them, as many other reviewers have experienced similar issues which can be viewed on several platforms. Based on my experience and that of many others, I would suggest avoiding this platform entirely. Their reputation is positively awful, and it's not just here, it's everywhere!
Terrible Experience with Wob: No Response, No Refund, No Customer Service
My experience with Wob (wob.com) was extremely disappointing. I had to change my order but when I emailed them, I received no reply. I then followed up 9 more times over a week and still no response. I even left multiple voicemails after calling countless times, but all in vain. I also reached out to them on Facebook but again received no response. I must say that at this point, I was left wondering if anyone works there.
I had to take the matter into my own hands and sent the package back to them unopened. However, to my surprise, the day after I shipped it back, I received an email from them saying that my order had been processed and was ready to be shipped. I informed them via email that it was too late and the package was already on its way back to them.
The most infuriating part of their emails was the repeated phrase "please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated customer service team". At this point, I was still waiting for a response to my emails, for someone to notify me about my order, and for my money to be refunded.
It is frustrating that they seem to reply promptly on their social media platforms but fail to address emails and voicemails. I am still waiting for a response from them and waiting for my refund. If anyone from Wob is reading this, I implore you to please prioritize your customer service and communication channels.
Deceitful and Terrible Customer Service: A Review of Wob Online Retailer
I recently had an unfortunate experience with Wob, an online retailer that claims to sell quality products. I had purchased a book that was advertised as being in "Very Good" condition, but upon receipt, I realized that the pages were falling out of the book, with no attachment to the spine. Additionally, the cover was beaten up and somewhat folded, making it clear that it should not have been listed as being in "Very Good" condition.
Naturally, I reached out to Wob to try and resolve the issue. They initially offered me a refund if I shipped the book back, despite me providing pictures of the pages separated from the book. This made me suspicious, as it seemed like they were trying to scam another customer with the same unsaleable book.
After some back-and-forth, they eventually agreed to refund me 25% of the purchase price. I reluctantly accepted, given that it seemed like returning the book would have been too much of a hassle, and I didn't want them to try and scam someone else with the same book.
What really rubbed me the wrong way was their request that I remove the return request in order to receive the refund "correctly". This is a clear attempt at scamming, and I'm not willing to abandon my protections as a customer just to get a refund.
Overall, I would strongly advise anyone to avoid Wob. They are deceitful in their product descriptions, have terrible customer service, and send out worthless products. It's simply not worth the risk.
WorldofBooks Review: Lack of Communication & Basic Customer Service Practices
As someone who loves to read books, I found myself browsing through the website of WorldofBooks (Wob.com) to find that perfect read. I did manage to find a book I liked and decided to make the purchase. Unfortunately, unlike other online retailers I have used in the past, WorldofBooks didn't confirm that my book was shipped. I had to take the initiative to contact them and find out for myself.
Their response was beyond unfortunate - I was told to have patience as my book had not been shipped with a tracking option, something which made me question why an international shipment would not be tracked. It was frustrating to be left in uncertainty for so long, and to have to wait over two months before deciding to reach out to them again.
Luckily, they apologized and offered a replacement title, which I accepted. However, I was still disappointed that they didn't take the initiative to confirm whether the replacement title was on its way or not. In fact, I ended up having to contact them again just to ask for a refund.
Honestly, the whole experience left me feeling like buying a book should not be this hard, especially since other companies offer excellent customer service. It's understandable that there might be external factors causing delays, but some basic customer service practices such as confirming shipment and providing an option for tracked shipments were not met - this is something that's expected from any business, and especially so from an online retailer.
Thankfully, Ebay's money-back guarantee meant that I was able to get my refund quite promptly. But for the poor handling of my order, I can't help but feel that my trust in WorldofBooks has been lost.
Disappointed with Wob's Book Condition & Description Accuracy
I recently had a disappointing experience shopping on the Wob website. As an avid collector of Agatha Christie’s work, I was excited to find three facsimile editions that I had yet to add to my collection. The website described these books as being in “very good” condition–a crucial factor for me when adding to my set.
Unfortunately, the books I received did not live up to these expectations at all. The first book I received was an ex-library copy from England, which was not mentioned in the description. The pages were yellowed and stamped, and the spine was not in alignment to the point where it was difficult to read the text.
The second book had a price sticker stuck on the front cover that could not be removed without damaging the dust jacket. Additionally, one of the corners of the book had been torn off, which was not mentioned in the product details.
The third book, while appearing to be in good condition, also had a tear on the belly band that wasn’t noted in the description.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the condition of these books, especially considering the fact that I had paid a high price for them. I do not believe that Wob’s product descriptions and photos accurately reflect the condition of their inventory. As a result, I won’t be shopping with them again in the future.
Unprofessional and Frustrating: My Disappointing Experience with WorldOfBooks
I recently had an experience with the online book retailer, WorldOfBooks, that left me feeling frustrated and let down. Although I must take some responsibility for the initial mistake, as I had not submitted my full address when purchasing the books, I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that the books had been dispatched without a complete address, and therefore there was no way to stop the delivery.
After receiving the confirmation that my package had been shipped, I immediately contacted WorldOfBooks to explain my error and request a cancellation. However, I was informed that they could not stop the delivery as the information was already with the courier service. I cannot help but feel let down that no one in the company could assist me further in resolving the situation.
Once the argument began, I expressed my deep concern that I was now out of pocket for a sum of $70 with no guarantee that I would ever receive the package. I was repeatedly told by customer service that they could not track the package and that a refund could only be issued if and when the package was received back by their warehouse. This seemed like a completely unsatisfactory resolution to me, considering that I had yet to receive any communication from the courier service.
When I was advised to contact the Australian postal service for further tracking information, I complied, but again, no useful information was communicated by the service. It is now January, and I am still without my package, and without a refund that was promised to me, leaving me feeling thoroughly let down by the entire process.
Overall, my experience with WorldOfBooks was unprofessional, frustrating, and has left me feeling that I cannot trust them as a retailer. While I recognize that I contributed to the initial issue, I believe that the response from customer service has been lacking and has resulted in a situation that could and should have been resolved in a more satisfactory and timely manner. I am deeply disappointed with this experience and do not recommend using this retailer.
Poor Customer Service and Lack of Communication: My Disappointing Experience with WOB.com
I recently had an experience with Wob (wob.com) that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I had ordered three books in early March and after waiting for the stated eight days, the books had not arrived. I reached out to WOB's customer service and was told to wait an additional 48 hours. However, even after this extended wait time, my order remained undelivered.
I contacted WOB again and after several back-and-forth emails, I was able to arrange a replacement order. One of the books I had ordered eventually arrived, but it was in poor condition - with writing in it and bent corners. Despite this, I was still missing two other books from my original order, and once again, when I inquired about their whereabouts, I did not receive any clear answers. Instead, I was simply provided with a tracking number that did not actually allow me to track my shipment.
Frustrated with the lack of communication and resolution from WOB's customer service team, I requested a phone number to discuss the situation further and also requested a refund. Unfortunately, neither of these requests were acknowledged or addressed. I continued to receive tracking numbers that were unhelpful since I never actually received the missing books.
In the end, I was left with no choice but to give up on receiving the missing books or any form of resolution from WOB's customer service team. As someone who values good customer service and clear communication, this was a disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend WOB to others based on my own negative experience.
