degree assessment for immigration
Hi,
Last year I wanted my education assessed for Immigration purpose. I got the marksheet transcripts prepared from University and sent to WES as requested by them. Those documents were in university sealed envelopes as requested by WES but WES wants to make sure that the documents are original. So they have sent the email to my university.
This is where the gap is, the university is not replying and WES is using outdated ways like emails and posts that get lost all the time. I feel WES is scamming people by charging a lot of fees but is not doing enough to verify the documents. They could call up the universities and ask them to verify the documents. I even suggested it to them but I got a Thanks for your patience reply back.
The immigration process is time sensitive and if I can not even get my degree verified by a body that is assigned to do it and I have to keep calling the university and university keeps saying they have not received any correspondence then WES is just wasting everyone's time. I feel like I have wasted so much time and money and they should change their outdated processes if they need to verify the documents sent to them in university sealed envelope.
This is really frustrating and I feel scammed and harassed by WES right now . Please advice

Confusion on upgrade
I read on a wes blog that when upgrading, wes will add your previous evaluation to the current one. However, I contacted wes customer service and they requested that I submit my waec again. Before, I planned on sending only my high school transcript because my waec evaluation (ref # 3529642) was done in 2018. My current upgrade reference number is 3962368
Moreover, the customer service does not even reply all my questions in the enquiry or they reply to an entirely different question that was not in my enquiry. Please, why is this so?
Why would the same organization say two different things. Please I am confused. I need to know what to do so as not to spend money for what is not needed
transcript evaluation
I am Aparajito Sen and my reference number is 3939377. Recently I received and email saying that the statement of marks was not sent form the official institution directly. The statement of marks, certificates were all provided in a sealed envelope certified by administrative officials of the university. The envelope even had the official address of the university in it. This is how official transcripts are provided in University of Calcutta. It will be kind of you to accept the documents which is provided as those are official documents for evaluation and if you can't then I want a refund of money.

I am from India. I had sent my documents in January 2019 and which were directly sent from the Institute as asked by WES as they applied new rules applicable from 1st Dec 2018. The documents were very much sent from the main University campus based in Pune, India and the only thing is my institute/ college is in Delhi.
Without giving me any proper reason/ proof they directly accused me that I myself sent those documents. I live in Delhi and the package / courier was sent from Pune. They at least must apply some common sense that if I live in Delhi and my college was in Delhi but the University to which the institute/ college is affiliated is based in Pune, then why would I go to Pune to sent the courier. I could have done that sitting in Delhi itself ? I mean why would I waste my money and travel to Pune which is around 1000 miles from Delhi to sent the package if I were to send it myself ?
This is mental harassment. A lot of money and time is wasted just because they don't think that the institute themselves have sent it. How can they say that ? Have they confirmed and verified from the University/ institute that they sent it or not ?
No. They simply passed their judgement based on their assumption.

Me and my husband submitted our degrees from india to be verified. Till niw, the file is on hold. After 3 months, when nothing moved, I called and requested wes to resend the emails as the universities said they haven't received anything from wes. Now, when the responses has been sent to wes, still the file is on hold. After number of follow ups, earlier I was told that no response is received but on emphasizing a lot that response has been sent, they checked the account and told that response is not as per guidelines so we have not accepted it and resent the mails to universities to respond again.
I am unable to understand, if they are charhing heftily for verification, what are they actually doing other than jusy sending email that too on candidate's followups.
5 months are over and wes is not ready to do anything. Very very disappointing expereince,!

My credit card is charged for a service that is not rendered. I kindly ask WES to refund me fully since I am not responsible for the service that is changed. You changed your service since 01 December 2018 and I requested for the verification before that date. If I knew that I must contact the university to submit my transcript on my behalf I would not have contact WES to serve me. Kindly refund fully to my credit card.
policy regarding submission of waec/neco scratch card
Dear All,
I wish to draw your attention to the above policy regarding submission of scratch cards to support your verification process.
These scratch cards cost around 4 CAD to obtain locally in Nigeria, therefore it seems unfair that applicants would have to incure around 70 CAD just to supply you with an unscratched card when they could simply supply you the pin by email to speed up the process.
The requirement to send this by post still carries significant risks with the burden solely on the applicant should the courier not safely deliver the requested scratch cards.
I encourage you to review this policy on the grounds that;
(a) It is unfair to the applicants due to its disproportionate cost that delivers no significant value.
(b) it places the burden of safe delivery solely on the applicant and can be costly
(c) Implementing an electronic approach could help to speed up your process.

I want to support Francis Dike's comments. WES process regarding WEAC verification from Nigeria is ridiculous and not adding any value to the ECAs requirement by IRCC.
WAEC verification should be canceled or done by accepting ePIN from the applicants.

With so much disappointment, I wish to inform you that WES has been a worst experience for me and its still ongoing. i need some help here
My WES account had 2 degree assessments -
Bachelor from Indira Gandhi National Open University
Post graduation and Masters from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
On 12th October 2018, my Bachelor degree was accepted and the Masters were sent for secondary verification by the university on 2nd November. It took around 6-7 weeks to get the status changed to "In progress" on December 14th 2018.
On 26th December, they sent my bachelors degree back to my school and that means another 6-7 weeks and still unsure what will happen after that.
My bachelor degrees were accepted before and suddenly they want a reverification.
Not sure, why was this not initiated on 2nd November itself along with other degree verification. This is a time consuming process and I hope WES realizes the value of the candidates lost time at the first place already to be adding more time to complete the process. Had this been initiated all together on 2nd November, this all would have been completed by now.
I have been awaiting my ECA since the last 3 months and request your intervention to understand my case and take appropriate steps in resolving this conflict.
verification of my credentials
Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. I have paid $220 usd to get my mater's degree evaluated, which is from malaysia, they said 7 days but it took them 20+ days.
My report is not clear to me, it says "us equivalency one year of graduate study" wht the heck does it mean? Can anyone explain this? I searched entire google but I cannot find the answer. Is it master? Bachelor? High school or what?
I called them several time, their customer service people are worst creature, they dont f* know about anything, they just buy more f* time from students for the animals they work for. They have no idea who is working on what. I believe its an outsourced people whose job is to keep people away from wes. They don't even office in us (per my knowledge) where you can visit and discuss your issue. You literally talking to nobody.
I don't understand, why no one from the us department is taking action on such horrible service. Waste of money, time, efforts and f* result in the end without explanation.

With deep sorrow, I wish to inform you that WES has been a traumatic experience for me so far and to add to my misery this isn't over yet.
My WES account had three degree assessment -
Bachelor from Mumbai university
Post graduation and Masters from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
On 3rd October, my postgraduation degree was accepted and the other two were sent for secondary verification by the university. All the degrees were then accepted on 27th November and my account moved to "evaluating your report" with the due date of 17th December. Out of the blue, I was notified yesterday that now my post graduation degree has been sent for verification 6 days before my report due date. My issue isn't with with the secondary verification alone, but also as to when it is being initiated.
Firstly, my post graduation degree is a subset of my master degree which has been verified by the university. The completion of two years in a three year course awards post graduation and the later awards masters. So logically speaking my masters degree markheet has all the marks of my post graduation degree as well.
Secondly, why was this not initiated on 3rd October itself along with other degree verification. This is a time consuming process and I hope WES realizes the value of the candidates lost time at the first place already to be adding more time to complete the process. Had this been initiated all together on 3rd October, this all would have been completed by now.
I have been awaiting my ECA since the last four months (since 19th Aug). I humbly request your intervention to understand my case and take appropriate steps in resolving this conflict.

I have opened an account with WES in may 2018.my reference code is 3621008. The evaluation is pending for past 5months. I have done my becholor and master degree from Delhi University India. Wes has accepted my master degree documents but have raised the varification on my bachelor's degree. University varification fee is paid and they have responded also but still it shows waiting for varification in WES status.
When I try to call or send mails to WES, they ask me to have patience. This is happening for past 4-5 months and I am not getting any solution from their end.
Due to high security reason they did not provide me any information on department, from which they asked for varification, but after 3 month of wait I wrote mails to Dean of Delhi university and since then I have been doing what is required from my end.
The staff in WES US and Canada is not helpful and they do not provide and solution.
I have paid fee but in return apart from wait time am not getting anything

I completed 3 degrees in the UK at top Universities--an MSc, PhD, and PGCE--and hired WES to perform the costly course-by-course analysis needed for my State Dept of Education to recognize my overseas credentials. After paying for original transcripts to be sent to WES from the Universities, I realized that a major portion of the PGCE was provided by a cooperating school other than the one who awarded me the degree. I immediately contacted WES who advised me to add them as a credential. I did this on September 5, 2018; I received several emails from WES after that stating that this had been forwarded to the correct department (always forwarding to someone else). On September 20th, the credential was added yet the report was sent out WITHOUT evaluating the credential on September 21, 2018.
I contacted them once again (this became a weekly event over the course of two months) notifying them that the report had left the school assessment section of the PGCE blank and simply stated that the course was the equivalent of 'one year US Graduate studies.' Graduate studies in what? Basketweaving? Nowhere on the report did they evaluate the year long observed teaching, courses, training, or grades nor did they state anywhere that this was an accredited teacher training program. For weeks following, I have called, filled out numerous 'Contact Us' forms, and followed all their instructions to have this report amended and a correct one sent out to my State Department of Education.
As of today, November 1, 2018, I have just received notice that the Director of Evaluation has determined they are, in fact, NOT correcting their mistakes, do not believe an error was made, and have mislead me for months now that a new amended report was being generated. The Customer Service Supervisor, Andrew, who promised me he was personally handling my case even refused to take my calls today rather handed me off to another CSR, Mike, who did nothing.
Not only am I out several HUNDRED dollars in costs and fees for a useless report but this has now cost me certification in my State, a job, income, months of stress/wasted time, and now MORE money in hiring a different more competent service to do this over along with reordering new transcripts for all 3 degrees.
I want a full refund of the $204 I paid for a Course-By-Course analysis, which was not completed in full or in terms of what they advertised would be provided. Additionally, I want to be reimbursed for the $75.12 fees I incurred for official transcripts to be sent to them and now to another service to correct their mistakes. Total cost to me $279.12 not including time/stress.
I have additionally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and Consumer Affairs.

I sent my university and post grades transcript as per WES requirement. The evaluation took 22 working days and I received an update they need statement of marks from my institute my post grads. My institute provide two documents at the end of the course Diploma Certificate and Final Mark sheet (consolidate marks of all semester in one page). I spoke to their executive and confirmed they have received my two documents but they require statement of marks or I can provide consent from my institute that they don't give statement of marks as it's not in their policy. I sent the consent to WES received from my institute with sealed and stamped. After two months of mishap they notified me, they have received partial information and they require statement of marks though in the consent it's clearly mentioned it's not in institute policy. The funny thing is they accepted my Diploma certificate but rejected my statement of marks I don't understand on what basis they accepted my certificate but not mark sheet? I don't think they have a protocol in place to evaluate documents.

credential evaluation
I have been given a report for my masters "marksheet" that it's "not legible". I have many other copies of this marksheet from my university and I have opened couple of these envelopes and they are perfectly legible to me. I don't understand what's this "not legible" is all about. I have no time left to send them another one as I need a report from wes for applying for pr. I am also frustrated because there is no dispute redressal option and your customer service is as rude as it could get and absolutely not helpful. I need to see a scanned copy of this "not legible" document to see whether it's really not legible. I may be otherwise forced to use legal options to see if this copy is really legible or not. Again, this has been a really frustrating experience for me and I did not expect the wes to be so unprofessional and unhelpful. I expect some sort of professionalism and most of all transparency if am paying for a professional service from you which is absolutely lacking.

I received a mail from WES that they need a confirmation from my institution before my evaluation can be completed, the email sent to me, name of the institution there is Tai Solarin University. Please the name of the institution I attended which I sent the transcript is Tai Solarin college of education. Is the three years program institution not the university.
Also, I sent a copy of the letter printed after payment that is requesting the institution to address the transcript directly to WES. Which the school have done . Since August 27th, 2018 . They mailed WES transcript copy which I believe by now the office must have received. wasted 3 months/ no response from customer care
I had sent my documents to WES for evaluation on 23.05.2018 and they had received by 26.05.2018. It took them so long to issue a report on 07 August 2018. My WES reference no. is 3644243. I called them multiple times and also marked mail to them, but they never had any response. All this while I always asked them" please confirm how you have sent communication to my university for verification of documents", is that by post or email. But they always responded that the verification is pending with your university. Also, I wrote to my university that if there was any confirmation pending at their end. My university confirmed me that they have not received any verification for me, neither by post nor email. It took WES more than 2 months to issue a letter and they never responded appropriately to my questions. It was more of mental torture. They never informed me how have they communicated with my university, they never shared any POD details of courier(if sent by post) neither they shared the date (incase email has been sent). Even after repeated reminders, the answer was very casual, which was updated on our WES profile. I believe, WES evaluation is biased as one of my colleague who has done MBA from my university only is allotted with masters and to me they have allotted a double bachelors. Just because I inquired with them, so many times about the status of evaluation. They have given e bachelors. I want to know the reason why my Masters were given bachelors and other person for my institute is awarded with masters. Also, an explanation why WES didn't respond appropriately to my inquiry. Just because you are an evaluating body, you will harass people like this. One of the worst organisations I have ever dealt with. Very unprofessional. Also, I would like to tell they have evaluated my husband degree in the month of July, and till date we have not received it. Highly casual attitude.
