We live in Ohio and own a semi
We live in Ohio and own a semi. While my husband was out on the road, he bought 2 new Yokohama steer tires in late November because of a blowout. Our truck started wobbling while we were out west, so my husband took it to a service center to have a tire specialist inspect it. The specialist said that one of the tires had a broken belt and was defective, even though the tires were practically new with less than 15,000 miles on them. My husband contacted Yokohama and provided proof of purchase. They asked him to take the tire to one of their dealers near us in Ohio and leave it there for their District Manager to inspect. In April, my husband left the tire with the dealer.
In June, I contacted Corporate because we hadn't heard anything about our tire since we left it with the dealer in April. Towards the end of June, my husband found an email from the District Manager that was sent the day after I spoke with Corporate. The email stated that he had inspected our tire and determined that the broken belt was not covered by the warranty because it seemed to be caused by my husband hitting something. As a goodwill gesture, he offered a $200 credit towards a new purchase. My husband immediately called the manager and asked for the photos he mentioned, as he hadn't hit anything and the tire had no damage when we dropped it off. The tire still had the barcode sticker on it from our purchase. My husband also mentioned that we had our own photos of the tires and the identifying DOT number. The manager admitted that he didn't have any photos because he hadn't actually inspected our tire, despite what he had stated in his email. He said he had relied on what the dealer had told him and promised to inspect our tire the next day. He assured my husband that he would call him after the inspection.
My husband forwarded me the email where the manager claimed to have inspected our tire. I immediately called Corporate again to complain about the manager lying to us and offering a $200 credit in an email. I told them that the manager had admitted to my husband that he hadn't inspected the tire and that he would do so the next day. The person I spoke to at Corporate assured me that he would escalate the issue to higher management. Three days went by, and we still hadn't heard anything from the District Manager about the tire inspection, so I called Corporate again to let them know. Shortly after my call, my husband received a call from the District Manager, who said that he hadn't inspected our tire because the dealer no longer had it. The tire was gone, and no one knew where it went. The manager blamed the dealer and threw them under the bus, even though he was the one who had been dishonest and negligent in the first place.
Consumer Affairs gives this company a 2.5-star rating, with more 1-star reviews complaining about their Warranty Customer Service denying customers' tire warranty claims than they have 5-star reviews.

I recently purchased 4 brand new Yokohama tires
I recently purchased 4 brand new Yokohama tires. However, upon installation, one of the tires was not properly balanced and couldn't be fixed. I contacted Yokohama about the issue, and they informed me that the place where I bought the tires, ***, is not an authorized seller. Surprisingly, even though Yokohama manufactured the tires, they refused to take any responsibility for the defects or poor quality of the tires.
I bought a Yokohama Avid Ascend GT tire, size 195, 65r, 15, but it turned out to be defective
I bought a Yokohama Avid Ascend GT tire, size 195, 65r, 15, but it turned out to be defective. Unfortunately, there are no Yokohama dealers nearby who can offer a warranty replacement. I called some dealers that are several hundred miles away, and they informed me that the warranty process will take *** months or even longer to finish! All I want is a replacement tire for my defective Yokohama tire.
I bought 4 Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+ tires from Discount Tire Direct on 9/5/22
I bought 4 Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+ tires from Discount Tire Direct on 9/5/22. They were supposed to give me a $70 rebate, so I sent in the form on 9/8/22. It's been a while now, and I haven't heard anything from them. I've sent them a bunch of emails, but they haven't responded. Their website says it takes up to 10 weeks to process the rebate, but it's been way longer than that. I don't have any other option but to complain to the ComplaintsBoard.com. I've included all the necessary documents to back up what I'm saying.

Yokohama Tire Corporation gave us a $50 rebate when we purchased their tires
Yokohama Tire Corporation gave us a $50 rebate when we purchased their tires. However, instead of sending us a rebate check, they signed us up for a prepaid credit card. The catch is that this card only lasts for 6 months. If you don't use the $50 within that time, it disappears into thin air. They admitted that they no longer send checks and prefer these time-limited rebates to bypass the laws against gift cards having expiration dates. It's a cost-saving measure for them, as they rely on many people forgetting to use the cards. This behavior is completely unethical.
One of the big reasons I decided to get Yokohama tires was because of their rebate deal
One of the big reasons I decided to get Yokohama tires was because of their rebate deal. I bought a set of Avid Ascend GT tires from Amazon on 4/4 and applied for a rebate. My first claim with id UQYMYRNQGW got rejected because I didn't give them the final invoice or proof of delivery. So, I gathered up some documents (proof that the tires were delivered to my place and an email from Amazon customer support) and made a second claim with id UNHR5LVZCM. But that one got rejected too, which makes me wonder if this whole thing is some kind of scam. I really like Japanese companies, but this has been a terrible experience.
I purchased Yokohama Avid Ascend LX tires on 9/1/22 from my local tire dealer and applied for a $70 Yokohama rebate.
I purchased Yokohama Avid Ascend LX tires on 9/1/22 from my local tire dealer and applied for a $70 Yokohama Labor Day Rebate at yokohamatirerebates.com. They accepted my submission and issued a tracking number. Despite checking my rebate status repeatedly, which indicates processing and advises a 10-week wait, it's been 14 weeks with no update. The tracking page's 'Contact Us' section lists a Claim ID to Department # YK 22-6979. I inquired about my rebate around 12/6 or 12/7/22 but haven't received any confirmation or response. I'm seeking to resolve this and obtain my $70 rebate.
I purchased a vehicle in February for postal delivery work
I purchased a vehicle in February , which came with Yokohama Tires. I use it for mail delivery and it has over 23,000 miles. The front tires are deteriorating. With 16 years at the Post Office, I've never seen such wear on tires. Although Subaru's warranty compensated me partially, it wasn't sufficient. I believe Yokohama should replace them. After contacting customer service, they only offered a 15% discount on their tires. I've decided not to purchase Yokohama again and will equip my car with Hankook Tires, matching those on my van. I expect Yokohama to provide at least two new tires of my choice. The car's primary use is for mail delivery, and I didn't select these tires. Residing 90 miles from the nearest service center in Bossier City, Louisiana, I'm concerned about potential tire failure before replacements are fitted. I'm looking to the ComplaintsBoard.com for a swift resolution. Thank you.

On 03/07/2022, while I was driving to work, my driver's side front tire blew out and pulled me towards the left side of the emergency lane from the center lane on the freeway. Thankfully, no injuries or accidents occurred, but my truck suffered significant damage. I had just gotten 4 new tires installed on 01/27/2022. On that same day, I took the damaged tire along with the rim to the shop where I purchased it. They inspected it but couldn't determine the cause of the failure, except that it wasn't my fault. To their credit, they replaced the tire and rim at their own expense and sent the damaged tire to Yokohama. Shortly after, I was contacted to file a claim. I provided all the necessary documents, including the repair cost, the wages I lost for that day, and the towing cost, which added up to $2300. However, Yokohama claimed that the tire failure was due to incorrect tire pressure and overloading. I find this hard to believe because all my tires had the correct pressure, and it was the front tire that failed, not the back tire that would bear the load. Interestingly, the exact replacement tire I received has had no issues so far, even though it's the same as the one that failed. Yokohama offered me twice the amount of $250 as compensation, but that wouldn't cover any of my losses. In my opinion, Yokohama does not stand behind their products.
On July 5th, my wife had what we thought was a blowout on her vehicle
On July 5th, my wife had what we thought was a blowout on her vehicle. When I got there, I noticed the tire still had air in it and was fully inflated. What happened was the tire's tread completely peeled off, like an orange peel. I took pictures of the tire and the damage to the vehicle before I changed it. I contacted Yokohama to start a claim and was given the runaround, with everyone passing the buck off to someone else. Finally, I got in touch with the right person who helped me start my claim. After a month of going back and forth, retrieving information for them, I received an email telling me my claim was denied due to a patch on the tire from a nail that punctured it previously. The customer service was poor, and obviously, the tires aren't much better. Now, I have to file a claim on my insurance to fix the damage to my vehicle, and I also had to purchase another tire without any consideration from Yokohama. I wouldn't recommend buying Yokohama tires for anyone else because I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I experienced with such a large name brand. Me, all my friends, and family agree never to purchase Yokohama tires ever and wouldn't recommend anyone else. Once I voiced my complaint to others, I found out that other people have had problems with Yokohama tires and their service department. I hope this message saves someone time and money by not dealing with Yokohama tires.
On 6/26 I sent a letter to Yokohama, it got to them on 6/29
On 6/26 I sent a letter to Yokohama, it got to them on 6/29. The *** tracking number is ***. I sent some emails on 7/3 and 7/9, but they didn't reply. Here's a part of the letter I sent. I didn't include any pictures or copies of invoices here. On Apr 26, 2016 I bought four *** from ***e. They came with a 60,000 miles warranty. On June 5, I was driving at 70 mph on a highway when one of the tires, with less than 30,000 miles on it, had a violent tread separation. Luckily, I managed to control the car and stop safely. The next day, I had to replace the tire for $73.34. At the same time, a ***e technician checked the other three tires and didn't find any damage that would justify giving me a discount on multiple tire replacement. The violent separation also messed up the wheel guard assembly. I looked online and it seems like a replacement would cost around $100 (I'm not sure of the exact model). On June 14, another tire had a violent tread separation. So I ended up replacing all the tires for $655.67. Just like before, the separation messed up the wheel guard assembly, estimated at $100, and also damaged the rear bumper cover. I found an aftermarket rear bumper cover for $426. If you include the cost of labor, I think the faulty engineering / manufacturing of your tires will end up costing me over $2,500. But what's more important is that the faulty engineering / manufacturing of your tires put my family in danger.
