I was prescribed a Zynex Unit by my podiatrist in January after having issues with neuropathy in both feet. The unit was said to be 40x more powerful than TENs unit. I received a call the following day from the local rep and then the company in Colorado to order the unit. I asked about precertifiaction from insurance as I've run into issues in the past but they said its covered under BSBC and for some reason its not its only $25 a month. I told them I was only interested in the unit if it was covered because I already purchased a Tens unit out of pocket. As there records will show this began a series of phone calls to their customer service line about the performance of the unit. A couple of calls in I was told you can't use the 40x times more powerful on feet because they are too bony and the electrodes they sent were too big for ankles and feet. I continued to call back in to question what was going on with insurance and they assured me it was still being reviewed. I followed up again and they said the doctor had not sent the proper medical records so they resent. I spoke with BSBC and they said they had all the info and no longer cover ZYnex since 2022 and that the reason everything appeared to be pending because they were sending rental fees for over $400 a month. They sent BSBC a final bill for $1995 and told them I owe them $150 in rent or $250 to buy for a unit I cannot use as prescribed from the beginning. This is a classi "bait and switch" sales tactic to run the "the clock" so you're in a psotion to buy their unit.
Desired outcome: I would like to return the unit and not pay anything but would pay 1 to 2 months to be done with this.
