AbeBooks.co.uk: The Reliable Solution for Hard-to-Find Books!
AbeBooks.co.uk is the real deal, folks! They helped me get my hands on a book that I couldn't find anywhere else. I'm based in the UK, and this book was only available in New Zealand. But Abe Books came through for me and found it! I was so happy when I finally got my hands on it. And the best part? No problems at all! Abe Books is a reliable and helpful company that really knows how to get the job done. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a hard-to-find book. Thanks, Abe Books!
AbeBooks.co.uk Review: My Go-To Place for Rare Books and More!
I've been using AbeBooks.co.uk for years now and I gotta say, I love this company. They're my go-to place for books and I've never been disappointed. I did have a couple of hiccups with their American base, where they sent me the wrong books, but I've never had any problems with the English one.
What I love most about AbeBooks.co.uk is that they have books that I can't find anywhere else. I mean, where else am I gonna find books that the shops have deemed out of date? It's like they have a secret stash of books that nobody else knows about.
I'm not getting paid to write this or anything, I just wanted to share my good experience with AbeBooks.co.uk. They've never let me down and I'll continue to use them for all my book needs.
Unreliable Sellers and Poor Customer Service: My Frustrating Experience with AbeBooks.co.uk
I recently had an experience with AbeBooks.co.uk that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had purchased a few books and paid for both the books and shipping, but to my dismay, almost every seller cancelled my order and tried to add extra money for shipping, even though I had already paid for it.
It's possible that these sellers were simply trying to scam me, or perhaps the website has some sellers who discriminate against certain buyers. I tried to reach out to AbeBooks to complain about the situation, but unfortunately, I never received a reply.
Overall, I would caution others against using this site. It's not worth the hassle and frustration of dealing with unreliable sellers and poor customer service.
Discover Rare Books with Abebooks.co.uk: A Reliable and Helpful Resource for Out-of-Print Books
Abebooks.co.uk is the absolute best place to find those hard-to-find books that you've been searching for. The site is chock-full of books that are no longer in print, and they're all available for purchase from independent booksellers located all over the world. I've been able to find all kinds of books that I couldn't find anywhere else, and I've been absolutely thrilled with my purchases.
The booksellers on Abebooks.co.uk are all incredibly helpful, and I've always received my books quickly and in the exact condition that was described in the listings. It's so nice to be able to trust that the books you're buying are going to be exactly what you're looking for, and that they'll arrive in a timely manner.
One thing to keep in mind when ordering from Abebooks.co.uk is that you're ordering from an individual seller, so it's important to check their rating and reviews before placing your order. However, I've never had any problems with any of my orders over the years, and I've always been completely satisfied with my purchases.
Overall, I would highly recommend Abebooks.co.uk to anyone who is looking for out-of-print books. It's the perfect place to find those books that you've been searching for, and the booksellers are all incredibly helpful and reliable. So if you're in the market for some hard-to-find books, be sure to check out Abebooks.co.uk!
Mixed Experience with Abebooks.co.uk: Be Careful When Ordering!
I've been using Abebooks.co.uk for a while now and I've got to say, it's been a mixed bag. Most of the books I've ordered have been just fine, but there have been a few that have been a bit of a letdown. One book I received had a hole in the back cover and six pages were completely blank. I tried to find the seller on the site, but they seem to have disappeared. Maybe they changed their name or something, who knows?
More recently, I ordered a book that was described as 'new' but when it arrived, the dust jacket was all tatty and there were black marks all over it, as well as on the inside cover and the outer edge of the closed pages. Not exactly what I was expecting, to be honest.
I can't help but wonder if the absence of a seller review function on the site is part of the problem. Maybe it encourages sellers with poor standards to keep on doing what they're doing, knowing that they won't be held accountable. It's a shame, really, because there are some really good sellers on the site who are let down by the poor behaviour of others.
Overall, I'd say that Abebooks.co.uk is worth using, but you do need to be a bit careful. Make sure you read the descriptions carefully and don't be afraid to ask the seller questions if you're not sure about something. And if you do have a problem, don't hesitate to contact customer service. They're usually pretty helpful and will do what they can to sort things out for you.
AbeBooks.co.uk Review: A Solid Choice for Book Buyers, Despite Some Flaws
Yo, so I gotta say, I've been using AbeBooks.co.uk for a while now and it's been pretty solid. Sure, there's some negative reviews out there, but honestly, those are usually just people complaining about a specific bookseller. Like, come on, don't blame the whole website for one bad experience with one seller.
Most of the time, my orders have been super professional and quick. And when things do go wrong, AbeBooks has been pretty good about enforcing refunds as long as you can give them tracking info for the return. The only downside is that sometimes the descriptions aren't totally accurate when you're dealing with those big warehouse-sellers instead of a cozy little second-hand bookshop.
I do gotta dock 'em one star though for being part of a global monopoly. Like, c'mon guys, give some other sites a chance too. If you're looking for an alternative, maybe check out Biblio first. But overall, I'd say AbeBooks is a pretty solid choice for all your book-buying needs.
AbeBooks.co.uk Review: Dishonest Descriptions and Terrible Customer Service - Stay Away!
I gotta say, I wouldn't recommend AbeBooks.co.uk to anyone out there. If you're looking for a book, you might wanna try your luck somewhere else. This company just can't be trusted!
First of all, their descriptions are just plain dishonest. I mean, come on! "Excellent" should mean a book that's in great condition, not some old ex-library copy with a cover that's falling apart and a spine that's all damaged. And don't even get me started on "very good" - that should never mean pages that are ripped and a book that's been worn down to the bone. If a book is an ex-library copy, they should just say so in the description, so that we as buyers can make an informed decision.
And if that wasn't bad enough, their customer service is just plain terrible. They hardly ever reply promptly, and sometimes they don't even reply at all! And when they do, they just don't seem to understand the problem that's been described to them. It's like they're not even trying!
And don't even get me started on their promised refunds. They say they'll give you your money back, but sometimes they just don't follow through until you complain even more. And when they do finally give you your refund, they can't even get it right! I mean, seriously, how hard can it be? I'm still waiting for a response on that one.
And if you're thinking about buying from World of Books or Greener Books, you might wanna think again. They're not much better than AbeBooks.co.uk, trust me.
So unless you wanna waste your time and money and get yourself into a real mess, I'd say stay away from this company. There are plenty of other good booksellers out there, but AbeBooks.co.uk is just a big rip-off!
Disappointing Experience with AbeBooks UK: Book Arrived Damaged and Seller Lied About Replacement Policy
AbeBooks UK is a company that I have been a fan of since 2016. However, my recent experience with them has left me feeling disappointed. I received a new and expensive book that had a long, thick gluey streak down the front cover. To make matters worse, part of the envelope was adhering to it too. I have never seen anything like it before. The gluey flap of the cardboard envelope had been tucked inside, adhering to the book, instead of being glued to the outside of the envelope. I was not happy with this and asked for a replacement. The seller gave me a refund instead. I was not looking for a refund, I wanted quality and service.
To make matters worse, the seller lied to me about their replacement policy. I received two different versions from two different staff members. I expected AbeBooks UK to take action and ask the seller how they could send one of their customers a book in that state. The book was wrecked at the point of dispatch. However, AbeBooks UK supported the bookseller instead of me. They offered me a discount and an apology, but I did not want either. I believe that regardless of any replacement policy, the damage was so severe that I should have received a replacement.
AbeBooks UK exposed me to this bad seller, and I feel like they threw me under the bus for the seller. I can no longer trust them to vet their sellers and will have to do it myself. It is disappointing to see a good company heading downwards. I urge anyone considering using AbeBooks UK to look at the images of my book and be appalled.
ABEBooks UK Buyback Programme Review: Poor Customer Service and Payment Issues
I sent my books to ABEBooks UK buyback programme and followed their instructions to the letter. After a few days, I received an email confirming that my books had been received and checked in. So far, so good. The email also stated that I would receive the original quoted price for all my books and that payment would be issued via my PayPal account within 1-2 business days. However, when this did not happen, I contacted their online customer service. Unfortunately, the UK site does not have a customer service telephone number, so I was unable to speak with anyone directly.
After waiting more than 48 hours for a response, I was contacted by one of their customer service representatives. However, the response time was longer than the promised 48 hours. The CSR gave me an incomplete update and informed me that payment is typically issued in 2-5 business days, not 1-2. He also questioned where I had heard it was 1-2. I was a little taken aback by this, but I sent a copy of the original email I had received from ABEbuyback UK. Although I was glad someone had contacted me, I still had not received any word about the status of my payment. By day 6, we were beyond the corrected time frame of 2-5 business days, and I was becoming increasingly frustrated.
Now, on day 11, I still have not received payment. When I checked my account online, it incorrectly stated that payment had been issued. When I tried to find out more information, the CSR informed me that my payment had been issued to the wrong email address, and that I had given them the wrong email address. This puzzled me, as I had received their original email to the correct address. Despite my attempts to sort this out, I have not received any response from ABE Books. It seems that they have decided not to resolve this issue, and their customer service representatives do not appear to care about their customers.
I am greatly disappointed and would not recommend doing business with ABE Books. I have now asked them to return my books, but I am not sure if I will hear back from them. As someone who was made redundant over four years ago, every bit of money matters to me now. Although ?29.13 may not seem like a lot to them, it is important to me. I will do whatever I can to get my money or my books back, but I am not sure what recourse I have.
