Acai Berry Acai Berry Fraud

Consumers Warned of Web-Based Açai Scams, 23/4/2009
"There are no magical berries from the Brazilian rainforest that cure obesity—only painfully real credit card charges and empty weight loss promises, " said Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. "

Aggressive Acai berry pitches on the Internet entice countless consumers into free trials promising weight loss, energy and detoxification. These claims are based on folklore, traditional remedies and outright fabrications—unproven by real scientific evidence. In reality, consumers lose more money than weight after free trials transition into inescapable charges. We will investigate these allegedly misleading or deceptive nutrition and health claims and take action under our consumer protection statutes—as we have done with other food products."

"These diet 'bloggers' are just a mirage, " Schardt said. "Their weight loss is courtesy of Photoshop, not açai." Other açai companies with F ratings from the BBB include Pure Acai Berry Pro (Advanced Wellness Research), AcaiBurn, Acai Berry Maxx (FX Supplements), and SFL Nutrition.

I was not told on this website of automatic enrollment of and for future mailings and charges to my credit card. I understood my card would be charged $4.95 for the trial offer and if I liked it, I had the option to order more. My card was charged $4.95, $64.00, $83.95, and $88.90 before I could get these charges stopped. This offer is a rip off as is the company. I will never accept any more offers of any kind on the internet, period.

i placed a trial order from this company very long time ago, like say 4 months. i never received my order and i tried to even call them, they will always put me on unending hold each time i tried to call, and never returned my call. i had already forgotten everything abt them, just recently i received a bill of 133.95 dollars from the comapny, i tried to call them a gain, it took me three days trial to get to talk to someone in the office, i was trying to explain things he hung phone on me so rude. i called back after some hrs talk to another one that threatened me of submitting my name to collection agency. does that happen, unbeleivable. Together let us right complain against this company, they cant be rippin customers so easy and go free.

I ordered a free trial and all I had to pay is shipping charges. I did not order any more. The company shipped the free trial bottle and charged me for it. They shipped a second bottle and stated it was a mistake but charged my account for both in the amount of $174.73. I do not want anymore shipped nor will I pay for anymore.

I ordered this product that was advertised on AOL as a 10-day trial sample for $1.95 shipping. Three days later I received the sample. Two days later I received another shipment which must have been shipped the next day after the trial sample. They will not accept the product being returned for credit; my credit card company has denied their charge of $89.95 to my credit card as it was unauthorized. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! IT'S BETTER TO BE A LITTLE LARGER THAN TO BE RIPPED OFF!

I have never authorized you to use my credit card. I don't know how you got my number but I want it stopped immediately. I have already contacted my bank and told them to investigate this situation. Please quit sending me Acai Berry Breeze and stop charging my checking account. If this doesn't stop Attorney Graham& Graham will be contacting you. Thank-You Mrs. Dorothy Wyatt

Company waits 7 months after free trial to send me a letter stating they never received unused product back and are now trying to collect money from me. I cancelled trial within 14 days and sent back unused product. I kept receipts for several months. But when I hadn't heard anything from them, I assumed everything was taken care of. I no longer have any receipts or any proof I sent it back. It's convenient the company waits that long to contact you.

I signed up to try the trial of this product which was 1 bottle of 60 capsules for 4.95 and it asked me at that time if I would like to pay for an ongoing supply and I clearly stated no and only signed up for the trial one time bottle. I received the bottle about a week later without a receipt and started taking as directed and after several days it had mad me feel very ill and I could not sleep well so I had to discontinue the product and throw it away. Today, 9-10-09, I recieved another bottle of product, again without a receipt and called my bank and have found out that my account has been charged without my authorization for 88.90. I will be changing my account as of today and I will be getting a refund of this money...this is fraud and I will not stand for it...I normally do not ever shop on line but when Dr. Oz had his name on this product and articles on their website, I thought it would be a safe thing to do...I was wrong and once again proven that I should not ever trust the internet nor anyone involved with it.

Took them two weeks just to get it to me, and the free trial was over by that date. Checked the package; it wasn't even shipped until a week after I ordered it. Called them to cancel the order and they said I wasn't in the system! No idea what to do now, moved all my checking money into my savings so hopefully they can't pull it, but I could still get screwed royally, which is crap because I don't have a job right now. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Acai Berry Scam Artist

Call them to cancel..they say read the small print..well I did..their small print says Customer may return product within 30 days of purchase date for refund minus ship and handling. FWM wouldn't acknowledge their own small print. They wouldn't give me a RMA number saying that I didn't call during 14 day trial period. WRONG...I called my bank and they reviewed FWM's website and read the small print saying. Refund within 30 days of purchase date. Wells Fargo rep intiated a three way call with FWM. Well Fargo rep read small print to Acai Berry Rep. After asking 5 plus times...Acai Berry/ FWM rep gave in and I have sent product back with RMA number. This company doesn't read their own small print...Wells Fargo and I did.

Acai Berry refund and cancel

I received one trial shipment of this product, I could not talk to them because there was no info on the web site to allow me to do that nor on my confirmation I received. I had to wait until I received the bill from my credit card company. I was charged 87.13 on 2-27-09. I called and tried to cancel and get the refund but I was told I had gone too long. I was unable to get ahold of them until I received my bill with the phone number on it. Then I received my next bill with another charge on March 12, 09 of 83.18 plus charges of .83, 2.00, .02, 1.98 .02 and 9.95. on march 16 as I was checking my credit card billing online I had been charged another 9.95. Last night the 16th I spend a lot of time trying to get an answer and being put on hold for a very long time and getting nowhere with this company. This product made me sick and caused stomach cramps and I was very miserable made more so by the extreme charges and the fact that I cannot get this resolved. I am going to dispute this with my credit card company and also file a complaint with the B.B.B. I hope you can help get results and stop this madness from this company.

I had the exact same thing happen, however not only did i have charges from this company, I had charges from "naturalacaidetox" as well, and the kicker is, i never ordered anything from them. I called both the companies (which phone numbers were the exact same except the last digit..funny how that works) and the first said that they were not affiliated, even though they both had the same introduction message. The first company put in a complaint to the refunds dept. and cancelled my membership. I called the second company and the lady said that they could see that my account had been cancelled, and that a complaint had already been put in from the refunds dept. So i waited to see if any money would be refunded. A week later, i did get 83.18 credited to my account, however there was still 87.13, 1.95, and 2.00 that had not been returned. So i called, yet again, and they told me that they were not affiliated with any other company. I asked to talk to a supervisor, whose name was Andy, who was very rude, and said that it was my fault that i had these charges, however after much arguing, she supposedly put in another complaint to the refunds department, and i'm still waiting (almost one full week later) to see if any money has been refunded.

The ad talked of someone from my town. I realized later that the name doesnt exit in our very, very small town. Also, if I had been thinking, I would have realized that the person claimed to be outside in February in her bare feet. We had over a foot of snow here in November. I believe that this company misrepresents itself.

Acai Berry Company refuses to cancel order.

I have tried to cancel my order for the products Colon Cleanse and Acai Berry through the above company and they continue to send the Acai Berry and have charged my credit card AFTER my request to cancel the order. They claim I never called because I could not produce "an authorization number"; however, "somehow", they successfully stopped sending me the Colon Cleanse.

How desparate and UNETHICAL must this company be to continue to charge credit cards for 80-something dollars a pop! I would like some action!

I am one of the people this bogus company have stolen $87.13 from. I have cancelled the free trail product, received a cancellation number and still keep getting charged on my credit card. I have called several customer service reps and they all claim that they have no record of the cancellation number that was given to me from this company. THIS IS BOGUS AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED! I have to cancel this card first thing in the morning as well as report this nonsense to the Better Business Bureau. (The two cancellation numbers are bogus as well: CFo7109 and 1355116).

I also am having the same prble. Once I realized they were going to keep sending me orders and charging me I called to cancel. The person I spoke with said she would send my information to the refund department, but didn't have direct access to them. When I asked to speak to someone in charge she said that would be the owner and they could not give out that information. I then asked to speak to her manager and she said there wasn't one. I then asked again and lo and behold there is a managerm but they were on vacation. They have charged my cards 4 times in the month of June and nothing has shown up at my house. I am now contacting the better business bureau.

Yes, it is a scam! They have to continue scamming people to pay off their class action lawsuits and their lawsuits from the Attorney Generals office and so forth.
You can get your money back by filing fraudulent charges with your Credit Card Company. Close the account for your safety. They will continue to charge it without your consent. Now and even in the future. They also sell your Ccard information to other Telemarketers. Get your money back! Don't fall for their bogus "You should have read the fine lines!" That's just as bogus as their bogus company!

Acai Berry refund

on march 24th i placed my order via internet for my 15 day risk free trial, i recieved the product about 8 days later, only leaving 7 days of the trial. on april 14th i noticed a charge on my credit card for $87.13 so i called and found that it was for the acai berry detox pills. i requested them to cancel any subscription for i did not feel that the product was doing what it said and requested a refund. they told me no! i was not satisfied with their answer. i pulled up the original website that i ordered the product on (www.acaiberrydetox.com/offer/lp7) and did some research. after reentering my information and clicking on submit order it took me to the check out page where low and behold their was a statement for a 30 day money back guarantee. oh, you bet, I called them back...talked to a supervisor again and she kept telling that i did not comply with the terms and conditions. i kept telling her that no where in the 30 day money back guarantee does it state that there are any terms and conditions that i must comply with. after about 45 minutes she pulled up the website that i ordered from read those terms and conditions, read the 30 day money back guarnatee, got back on the phone with me and said that she was escalating the sitiuation and requesting a refund for the $87.13 and to call back in three days to confirm that the refund has been processed. Even though this has consumed an hour or so of my day the satisifaction of sucess over a company that has several different websites for you to order this product from and is ultimately out there just to screw us out of our hard earned money on a product that does not work is well worth it. DO YOUR RESEARCH, SAVE THE ORIGINAL WEBSITE YOU ORDER PRODUCT FROM, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MAY FIND FOR YOUR DEFENSE!

placed order for product acai berry detox on 6/23/09, received product 6/27/09 - per advertisement 15 day trail period - how can a company start your trial period from the order date when you haven't even received the product to begin trying it. This is truly taking advantage of the consumer and this company need to be shut down! Tried to cancel order and account had already been charged before the 15 days ended.

I too fell for the scam, thinking I was receiving a 30 day free trial of Natura cleanse and Acai berry Detox, I called after 9 days because of the charge on my debit card. I told them to get that charge off my account. There was a 10 day grace period to cancel and they said they would give me another month of free product for my inconvenience and remove the charge. They didn't tell me that I would be charged if I didn't cancel again after 10 days, nowhere on the website did it say you had to call and cancel your subscription to not be charged the full amount. Again my call was 9 days later and they said they would cancel and not charge me. I ended up being charged $87.13 and another $49.95 for the bottle of acai berry detox, when they told me they would only charge $1.95 shipping for one bottle and $2.95 for the other. The website said the way they made money was by giving away one free month and people were so satisfied they became regular customers, it really sold me thinking if they were willing to give away one month to get your business I had nothing to lose. I spent over an hour on the phone and was only allowed to talk to two people; I couldn't get above the supervisor. They said they would credit my account $20.00. I doubt I will see it and am calling my bank tomorrow.

I just did the Free Trial and was upset as my confirmation had a different name than the
Extreme Acai Fat Burn. The product listed on my confirmation was a Detox Pill. I called the company and was told that the Detox product was the same. I informed them that it is fraud as they have two different products on their website with two different purposes yet he was telling me they are the same. He informed me that my account was cancelled and gave me a cancellation number. I am not confident that this is true so I am calling my bank and getting a new debit card with a different number. I am going to contact the writer of the article who recommended this product and website and let him/her know to research prior to writing about companies as the article had the link listed in it.

My case has a bit different ending. I also made the purchase of "Free Trial" only paying for $.99 shipping. I was VERY skeptical right after I purchased the product, so I started researching about this company. It turns out there was a tiny little paragraph at the bottom of the website saying it will be subscribed $83.90 if I don't cancel my trial within 12 days after shipping. I immediately called this company, [protected], on the same day and canceled my account. They automatically open up an account/subcsription if you make the "free trial" purchase. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. I am still worried they might charge my credit after 12 days. I confirmed 2 separate times to make sure my account was in fact closed. This is too good to be true. Losing weight shouldn't be this easy. It takes bloody time and lots of sweat to see the result. Popping pills with your regular diet cannot be the ultimate solution to your problem. That's what I learned.

This may help in getting your refund. I also was caught in the trap that it took 12 days to
receive the product, but had only 14 days to get my money back. The woman on the phone
said that I had not cancelled within the 14 days so I was stuck. I then said "what about the
30 day money back guarantee? It says this right on your website" She then immediately
gave me a return authorization number and said they would give my money back. This
just happened, so I will check my credit card and let you know if my money was refunded.
It is at least worth a try-she did give me the return auth number.

I thought I was ordering the 30 day trial only being charged the shipping but now I have found another $87.13 charge which I never authorized. I am calling my bank to stop any charges and request a refund since this was done w/out my permission. Someone did call me a couple of weeks ago and all they said was they were "confirming" my order. When I said specifically that I was only authorizing the trial order and shipping charges of $3.95, they just kind of mumbled something weird and said ok. I believe they are using that excuse as an "authorization" for them to charge on the account. This is a total scam and not at all what they presented it to be. I should have googled the problems with ordering from these sites before I trusted this on line scam! Has anyone found any good resolution to getting a refund?

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. The same thing happened to me. I am going through the horrible process of getting my money back. This company is not able to be trusted. I was charged once than refunded when I cancelled my account and was on the phone for an hour arguing to get my money back. Long be hold there was another transaction on my account. My account was cancelled on the 7/16 and the 2nd transaction was placed 7/20. My very first $0.99 was made by EBODYCLEANSE, than my second and third transaction for $86.47 was made by B-LABS CREAM. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Tried the product and it made me feel dizzy and had anxiety the whole day, as well as my mom who tried my trial product. THIS IS ONE SHADY COMPANY!

Acai Berry Unapproved credit card charge

This company likes to charge your account when all you signed up for was the trial product. They charged my account twice without asking me if I wanted more of the product or not. When I paid for the trial product it was noted that that was only for the trial porduct not that you were signing up to get the product every month. As far as I'm concern the product really does not work. They also then sign you up for Lifstylefit.com without you knowing about it and they charge you $29.95 a month for what.
If I could find out what state they are in I would contact the Better Business Bureau and advise them of what this company is doing. As far as I'm concern this is fraud.

HI all,

I have been fighting with this company since march/april and have been told that my credit card was refunded and it hasnt been..has anyone had any luck in obtaining a refund from them? I was charged for the trial (which I hadnt had for a good 3dys) and the normal month all in the same month..when I spoke to the card fraud division I was told that it was my fault and that I willingly gave this company my card information and that there wasnt anything they could do..this lady agrued with me because I didnt agree that this was legit nor fair..

I have 69 emails to this company with no resolution in sight..any suggestions would be appreciated...I am so frustrated with this..

I have two others companies I am dealing with with the same mode of a free trial and then they charged me out the wazoo. I was able to track them down and contact the BBB of FL and am hoping to get some charges reveresed but I have sinced closed that debit card and believe it or not it was my bank that caught it and called me on it. My Dr said not to take it as it raised my BP to far up. Rhoby in Louisiana

Jan,
You've been scammed. As much as you don't want to do it, your only safe bet is to close the credit card. You have to file fraudulent charges with your credit card company. Their fraudulent dept. should reverse the charges. Leave that card open, just watch them suck it dry..they could care less if you were living on the streets.
Watch the video on this website at the top right corner. You'll see who you're dealing with.

Most Credit Card Companies and Banks are aware of the Scam and have reversed charges.

It's your money. Close the card and start another account.

What a kettle of smelly fish! I now have two charges each $60 and an additional $90 and a monthly charge appearing for $10. I have called several numbers on websites and they say they have cancelled my membership/monthly shipments. This is such a scam. The number listed on my bank statement next to the charge is the cell phone of some guy who hadn't a clue why his cell number was on my bank statement...sigh

I have just received my credit card and they did the same thing to me. They advertised just $4.99 for S/H to receive your free bottle of ACAI pills. Now they charged $4.99 and $79.96 for this FREE bottle and have already charges another $80.00 something for the next one that I didn't order because "It's on the way". Is there anyone out there who can HELP me? I can't afford this to happen to me. I am a widow on a fixed income. I need every dime I get and still have to use my credit card for grocery sometimes. PLEASE I NEED HELP !

Acai Berry Scam

I called the customer service to cancel my Fit Factory account over 4 months ago, yet have continued to receive the product and not be charged. Then, this month, I got a bottle and noticed I was charged $92.00. I called the number that came with the bottle after calling Fit Factory. They (Fit Factory) said that they were no longer associated with Acai Berry Power 500. The paper that came with the bottle had a different number, but no company name. I called the number twice so far and have been given the run around when I asked for a supervisor. He/she was apparantly in a meeting that has been going on for like 4 hours... I finally told the representative, in a raised voice, that I didn't understand why it was so hard to be put on the line with someone in charge and I would send the pills back, but that the money was the only money I have to live on until I get paid on Friday, and that I needed groceries and for the money to be put back. She tried to tell me they wouldn't refund it. I then told her she could let the supervisor know I would be getting a lawyer. DON'T ORDER THIS PRODCUT, IT IS A SCAM!

Many businesses across the country are using the same selling model for their acai products: They lure customers in with celebrity endorsements and free trial offers, and then lock them in by making it extremely difficult to cancel the automatic delivery of more acai products every month.

The endorsements are also misleading, according to the bureau, and some celebrity lawyers have already gone after these online companies.

"Consumers should be aware that Oprah Winfrey is not associated with nor does she endorse any acai berry product or online solicitation of such products. Attorneys for Harpo are pursuing any companies that claim such an affiliation, " said Don Halcombe, spokesman for Harpo Productions, Winfrey's production company.

Consumers can check www.bbb.org to get a "reliability report" on particular companies before purchasing an online product.

"These companies are simply abusing general acai berry endorsements from well-known, trusted celebrities by using it as a tacit endorsement of their company and products specifically.

Consumers trust Oprah and unfortunately, if they are tricked into believing that she is putting her stamp of approval on a product then they are definitely more likely to purchase it.

"FREE TRIAL OFFERs" FOR ACAI BERRY ARE NOT FREE!
In fact they will cost you more than 4 TIMES AS MUCH as it should cost per bottle. These scammers will charge your credit card at least $80 per bottle each month. That more than twice as much as quality freeze-dried acai berry should cost. And to make it worse, they send you crappy drum dried Acai Berry, which cost about 1/2 as much to produce. So you end up paying at least 4 times more per bottle than you should.

YOU WILL BE SIGNED UP FOR A SUBSCRIPTION
Yes, they say they just charge you for shipping. If that were so, it wouldn't be bad. But in reality, they just want your credit card number and will bill you every month for a subscription you didn't sign up for. They bury the fine print in their terms and conditions.

YOU WILL SPEND HOURS TRYING TO CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION
There will either be noone to contact to return the crappy product, or they will say you have to call their customer service number to get return authorization. When you do, you are put on hold and shuffled between different people until you give up. Don't believe me? Before you purchase, call or email them and say you did not sign up for a subscription and please stop sending the product. You will get the runaround

THEY WILL SHIP YOU A CRAPPY, NEARLY WORTHLESS NO NAME BRAND OF ACAI BERRY SUPPLEMENT
They don't expect you to be happy with the product. They don't care, so they make even more money by shipping you crap. Acai Berry supplements must be freeze dried, or else they lose most of the nutrients and antioxidents. These scammers use cheap, heat processed Acai that cost 1/2 as much. Read more about choosing a quality supplement

THEY OFTEN BUNDLE OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE SUBSCRIPTION TO CHARGE YOU EVEN MORE
It's really obscene what some of these scammers do. We've listed a common offer below, where they bundle additional offers if you do not deselect the checkbox (it's checked by default). Some are hitting people with $150 a month in charges.

THIS INFORMATION IS POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expanding, for the second time, its nationwide alert to consumers about tainted weight loss products containing undeclared, active pharmaceutical ingredients.

The FDA has identified additional weight loss products (Herbal Xenicol, Slimbionic, and Xsvelten) and new undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients (fenproporex, fluoxetine, furosemide, and cetilistat).

"These tainted weight loss products pose a great risk to public health because they contain undeclared ingredients and, in some cases, contain prescription drugs in amounts that greatly exceed maximum recommended dosages, " said Janet Woodcock, M.D., director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. "Consumers have no way of knowing that these products contain dangerous drugs that could cause serious consequences to their health."

On Dec. 22, 2008, the FDA warned consumers not to purchase or consume 28 different products marketed for weight loss. On Jan. 8, 2009, the FDA expanded the list of tainted weight loss products to include 41 additional tainted products. The FDA will continue to update this list as warranted.

The products listed above, some of which are marketed as dietary supplements, are promoted and sold on various Web sites and in some retail stores and beauty salons. Some of the products claim to be "natural" or to contain only "herbal" ingredients, but actually contain potentially harmful ingredients not listed on the products' labels or in promotional advertisements. These products have not been approved by the FDA, are illegal, and include the following undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients:

fenproporex – a controlled substance not approved for marketing in the United States;
fluoxetine – an antidepressant available by prescription only;
bumetanide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only;
furosemide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only;
rimonabant – a drug not approved for marketing in the United States;
cetilistat – an experimental obesity drug not approved for marketing in the United States;
phenytoin – an anti-seizure medication available by prescription only; and
phenolphthalein – a solution used in chemical experiments and a suspected cancer-causing agent that is not approved for marketing in the United States.
The FDA has inspected a number of companies associated with the sale of these illegal products and is currently seeking product recalls. Based on the FDA's inspections and the companies' inadequate responses to recall requests, the FDA may take additional enforcement steps, such as issuing warning letters or initiating seizures, injunctions, or criminal charges.

The FDA advises consumers who have used any products containing these ingredients to stop taking them and consult their health care professional immediately. The FDA also encourages consumers to seek guidance from a health care professional before purchasing weight loss products.

The health risks posed by these products can be very serious and include high blood pressure, seizures, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), palpitations, heart attack, and stroke. Sibutramine, a controlled substance, was found in many of these products at levels much higher than the maximum daily dosage for Meridia, the only FDA-approved drug product containing sibutramine. These higher levels of sibutramine can increase the incidence and severity of these health risks. Fenproporex, another controlled substance, can cause arrhythmia and possible sudden death.

Health care professionals and consumers should report serious adverse events (side effects) or product quality problems to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail, fax or phone.

Online: www.fda.gov/MedWatch/report.htm
Regular Mail: use postage-paid FDA form 3500 available at: www.fda.gov/MedWatch/getforms.htm and mail to MedWatch, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD [protected]
Fax: 800- FDA-0178
Phone: 800- FDA-1088

When I called to speak to as supervisor they said "they are all in a meeting" on Fri. night at 9:45pm. When I tried to cancel my order by phone they said I was not in the system...yet they had the informatio to charge my credit card!

This was such a scam...a horrible nightmare! I did the free trial...was not impressed...received the new bottle that came with a paper to call and cancel at any time! What crap! I started receiving bottles and bottles of cleanser and teas and receiving weight loss news letters in my e mail, coupons and now I belong to an auto rewards program that I didn't sign up for. The next month when my bank statement came I wanted to pass out. Over $1000.00 had been withdrawn from my bank account. The number on the paper that I had was not working. When calling numbers on statement everyone was in a meeting, it didn't matter what time I called. Finally, I told them I would hold, that I had all day and night to sit on hold until someone, anyone came out of that meeting. I was on hold for almost an hour! The gentleman told me that when I agreed to the "free trial" and put in my debit number and "read" the fine print five miles down the terms and conditions I agreed for them to share my info with other companies to start charging and sending "STUFF". All in all that day I was on the phone for over 8 hrs trying to get my money back. Most said I could get a 50% refund...are you kidding me? They wanted me to pay the shipping back to them. I went to my bank...this is how I got my money back! I had to call all the places back, state that it was an unauthorized purchase and that my bank would place a charge back on their withdraw if they didn't create the refund themselves. Companies don't like for this to happen due to it causes the rate at which they are charged for their with draw draw from our accounts. The more charge backs a company has the higher the rate goes. The woman at the bank let me know this process takes two days max to happen not the 30-60 days they would tell me. I was ready for them. I soon started to see the deposits flying in my account. The ones that were not there in 2 days were a charge back from my bank. It took me from start to finish 5 days, hours on the phone, a lot of aggravation-----all for a FREE TRIAL! I thought I was safe...it was Oprah's website for goodness sake! It will never happen to me again. By the way...I sent nothing back!

Acai Berry Charges

I was ordering Acai Berry 3 bottles for $29.95, while ordering you have to press continue and they made it look like the same page so I contiued to press next and they ended up charging me $239 to my credit card. I called as soon as I saw the final page to tell them this wasn't correct, I was told that the manager would call me back. I ofcourse did not receive the call and called them back and was told that the item had been mailed already. I had to get a return item number from them and mail items back and wait for them to credit back to my card. I would not order from this company for any reason!

Acai Berry Charges not Authorized From The Company

I ordered a free trial for 4.95 from this company and received my pills in the mail. that's when I found out that would not be my only charge from them. The credit card I used to buy the trial was charged for 89.00 the next month without my me knowing. Disputed the charges with my credit card company. Next month credit card statement came and once again I was charged a 89.00 fee from them. Never received anything in the mail but sure did get the charges. Once again I disputed the charges with my credit card company and they took it off. Leaving me to close out that account number and get a new one because of the charges.
My question is, can this be fraud as this company is charging fees to my account without me knowing about it. On The charge it states the charged was processed without the card being present.
Credit Card Company's need to get tougher on charges to your card by asking security questions when purchasing online and stores need to start asking for some kind of identification when you are paying with credit card. To me this will stop all this fraud somewhat and make it difficult to charge to someone else's card.
There needs to be some kind of action taken against these people. For charging all this people nonsense fees, imagine the thousands of people out there who paid these fees for something they did not receive and the company is making money off of these pills and from celebrities that did not honor this company in the first place

The company assures me that they will stop any further shipments but it keeps on coming and dedections from my credit card. I am now force to close out my bank account to stop further deductions. The product does not work! I am in debt of almost $300. Do not believe in the money back guarantee. Do not believe in a trial period. Just don't believe in this product especially from Natrascience.

Acai Berry One Big Con

I subscribed for a free trial of the Acaicia Berry pills to try and help me to loose weight.

I understood that from the advert I would have 2 weeks to try the product before being charged.

The money for the product has been taken out of my Credit card account, along with a further payment by the same company for web use, which my bank seems to think is an on going charge for each month.

I have been charged for a product that was sent to me with no postage on and as I was not prepared to pay the £18.00 Shipping charge, it was returned to the local postal station.

I have spent time trying to find a number to contact the formentioned company but to no avail.

Acai Berry Stole my money

Those "free" 14-day trial offers for "super food" diet supplements claiming celebrity endorsements may be too good to be true, according to the Better Business Bureau.

The bureau released a statement this January warning consumers to be wary of online sales offering acai berry-related weight loss products, saying the marketing of these products is often misleading. The bureau said it has received "thousands" of complaints from consumers about online sales of acai berry products.

In a scheme called "negative option" advertising, dozens of companies nationwide offer "free" trials of acai diet products, claiming endorsements from Oprah Winfrey, Rachael Ray and others, but then charge month after month unless the consumer cancels the order, according to the bureau.

"BBB [the Better Business Bureau] can't speak to the restorative or weight-loss properties of acai-based products, but we are taking companies to task for their misleading sales and marketing practices, " bureau spokesman Steve Cox said in a statement.

"Many businesses across the country are using the same selling model for their acai products: They lure customers in with claimed celebrity endorsements and free trial offers, and then lock them in by making it extremely difficult to cancel the automatic delivery of more acai products every month, " he said in the release.

The endorsements are also misleading, according to the bureau, and some lawyers representing those celebrities have already gone after these online companies.

Rachael Ray has also complained to companies that falsely claim she has endorsed their products.

Consumers can check www.bbb.org to get a "reliability report" on particular companies before purchasing an online product.

"These companies are simply abusing general acai berry endorsements from well-known, trusted celebrities by using it as a tacit endorsement of their company and products specifically, " added the bureau's Cox.

These products have not been approved by the FDA, are illegal, and include the following undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients:

fenproporex – a controlled substance not approved for marketing in the United States;
fluoxetine – an antidepressant available by prescription only;
bumetanide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only;
furosemide – a potent diuretic available by prescription only;
rimonabant – a drug not approved for marketing in the United States;
cetilistat – an experimental obesity drug not approved for marketing in the United States;
phenytoin – an anti-seizure medication available by prescription only; and
phenolphthalein – a solution used in chemical experiments and a suspected cancer-causing agent that is not approved for marketing in the United States.

Just an hour ago I ordered a trail bottle of Ultra Acai Berry tablets. I was only supposed to pay only $4.95 for shipping. I gave them my credit card number and waited for my receit to appear. When it did appear I discovered that instead of the $4.95 charge there was a charge of $13.95. They had said that I had asked for express shipping. Of course that is a total lie, I never even thought about express shipping. Please be aware of these people, this is not their first complaint.

I was invited to try a sample bottle of the product and paid $1 for it. Since then i kept receiving bottles and being charged for them without my authorization. Since i don't live in the us i receive the product to my daughter's address in nyc and i don't see it all the time. Only when i get to the us. I can want to return all the bottles in my possession since this product has no effect whatsoever. It's a real scam!

I ordered the trail offer for $4.95 which was for shipping & handling today I received an electronic receipt for $79.22 which was charged to my account without my knowledge. When I called they claim that you have to cancel your membership within 15 days or be charged since when does ordering a product online automatically enroll you in a club of sorts. I called and told them to refund my money at which tome they stated they could not. When I thretened to call the Better Business Bureau they change there song and said they would immediately refund my money and canel my membership. Don't order with these people this is a "BIG SCAM!"

Acai Berry Unauthorized Credit Card Charges

I purchased an FREE TRIAL bottle of Natures Acai berry as advertised. I received my pills and they charged me $ 1.99 for shipping charges. 2-3 weeks later, my credit card was hit with charges in the amounts of $ 29.95, $79.96, $ 85.77 and $2.95 over a 2 week period of time. I called their customer service number and the rep explained when i ordered the pills that "fine print" states that i enrolled myself in memberships programs and that is what the UNAUTHORIZED charges were for. I am very angry especially when NBC and Oprah endorsed the product. I had to wait an hour to speak to a supervisor when i called to complain and then he aruged with me about refunding the $ but stated that he cancelled my memberships THAT I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE OR ENROLL MYSELF IN. I had to cancel my credit card and have my credit card company dispute the charges. This is just like stealing someone's credit card out of their wallet and using it unauthorized! I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM NATURES ACAI BERRY. ! They are scam artists!

Natures Acai Berry Supplement was to be charged at $2.95 for shipping and handling as a trial. On the credit card it was listed at 79.95 on my American Express and listed as miscellaneous food.
It was also supposed to be all natural ingredients and with no mention of caffeine. It has 200 mg of it. I am extremely sensitive to it.

I also was a victim of Natures Acai Berry scam...$79.96 was withdrawn from my credit card for an additional purchase I did not make...I have a heart condition which prevents me from taking caffeine...I would not have purchased the trial bottle had I known caffeine was an ingredient...I was charged $4.99 for shipping which was the correct amount

This company advertised on its web site a free sample of the supplement Acai Berry for paying just the shipping. It does not state that you will be signing up for additional services at additional charges. However, within 15 days additional charges are posted against your credit card.
DO NOT BUY PRODUCT!

YOU ORDER A PRODUCT WITH A 15 DAY FREE TRIAL AND YOU DON'T RECEIVE IT FOR 7 DAYS. SO YOU ONLY HAVE 7 DAYS TO TRY IT THEN THEY CHARGE YOU. IN A FREE TRAIL YOU SHOULD GET IT IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME SO AT LEAST YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO TEST IT.

AMMENDMENT! I recently submitted a complaint that indicated no where were the terms disclosed. I went back several times & finally found it at the bottom (just above the last paragraph). You have to click on "Terms of Offer". Please do this BEFORE you purchase to see you agree to those terms.

Acai Berry Fraudualant charges

I ordered the free trial and it didn't work. When I ordered I had to sign up for the auto-ship to get the free trial, with option to cancel at any time. I called and canceled my auto-ship program within 2 weeks of receiving the product. I was charged on my account $79.90 even after canceling. When I called to have this removed they informed me that the charge was for the the free trial! Thats a scam! How can they advertise a free trial and then charge you for it!?

And heres the number I got thru on for anyone having trouble:

I want the amount credited back to my credit card account!

Acai Berry Unauthorized charges

I ordered the Nature's Acai Berry Supplement and was excited when I got it in the mail on Saturday. I waited to take it on Sunday because I had a late start. So on Monday, I followed the directions and tooks the pill 20 minutes before I ate breakfast. The only thing I had with this pill was water so my stomach was empty. So about 10:30 a.m. I ate my breakfast and about an hour or so, I started feeling nauseous and my stomach started hurting. I was really queasy after 12 that afternoon. So I called the Post cereal company's toll free line and made a complaint with them thinking that it was the cereal that got me sick. Anyway, it was time for lunch, so as stated on the bottle to take it 20 minutes before lunch. That's what I did. So I ate lunch about 4:20 or so, and about an hour later, the same thing happened. I was in pain so bad I was in bed by 5:30. I couldn't sleep, it felt like I was having an anxiety attack, I had a funny taste in my mouth. I just threw the bottle of pills, and the cereal away because I didn't know what was going on. I'm tired of being dupped into these rip off products that only want my money. Today, I feel a little better than before, but now I am cranky, I am very snappy with people, I don't want to be bothered. It's like I'm coming down from a caffeinne high, I still have a funny taste in my mouth. I'm hungry, but can't seem to eat anything. I'm really disappointed because Oprah and Rachael Ray, and Dr. Oz are standing behind this products. I should have know something was up when I realized how much caffeinne was in these pills. NEVER Again!

Just because those so called" IMPORTANT PEOPLE" stand behind these products doesn't mean they are legit! They are probably getting a big kick back from them. If the Aci Berry is so great why is Oprah still so large? That should have sent up a flare. And as far as Rachel losing weight she has money to afford a trainer and a diet cook. SO BIG DEAL that's why the saying goes don't believe anything you hear and half of what you see. This country has become greedy, thieving predators and until the people take a stand a say enough is enough it will go on. Just because someone sticks their face on TV everyday does not make them any more honest or better than anyone else. Trust in the Lord and he will guide you the right way NOT OPRAH!
