Myself and young family and partner in a wheel chair were due to stay at he Novotel Le Havre.

The hotel room offered smelled very heavily of tobacco smoke and mold. The previous guests were heavy smokers illegally smoking in the 5 floor hotel room.
The hotel was full on a busy Saturday Summer day and the hotel could not offer another room. The hotel would not help in finding another Accor group hotel either.
The staff were very unhelpful and one was rude. One member of staff offered to spray air freshner which would have made the situation worse.
We were forced to drive another hour to Rouen to another Accor hotel after we had to organise another room through the central booking agent.
We paid £110 for the Le Havre hotel. They would not refund us.
We had to pay another Euro270 and spent about Euro50 in fuel driving to the hotel in Rouen. So approximatley a futher £250 expense on top of the £110 paid for Le Havre.
We booked through Hotels.com however, Le Havre Novotel has ignored the complaint totally.
Desired outcome: Compensation for original booking of £110 and a further £250 expense incurred making our own arrangements to find accommodation. Apology too for sub standard customer service and rude staff member.
