I bought a car from Toyota in ***. I finished paying for the car, but Toyota came and took it away without permission. The finance company says I paid for the car completely, and I am the rightful owner. However, the dealership won't give me the car back or refund my money.

I attempted to return the car, but the dealership claimed it was in good condition. I haven't been able to drive this car for more than two weeks because it has been in the shop since March 30, 2022. I am still making monthly payments and paying for insurance, but now the car is at *** and requires a new engine. It has been eight months of misery, and the dealership has shown no concern.

When I got the car, the engine light was on, and they didn't have a key, so I couldn't drive it until the paperwork was finished. Additionally, the car needs a new muffler. The salespeople promised to fix the engine light and motor mounts, but they haven't done either. Recently, the car started leaking antifreeze, and I have a warranty that should cover the repairs and provide a rental car. I've taken my car to the Toyota service center multiple times, but instead of actually fixing the engine light issue, they just turn off the light. They never have a loaner car available, so I'm always stuck dealing with the problem myself, even though I have a warranty and the engine light was already on when I bought the car. The car hasn't been serviced since 2018, and they even added a fake report on Carfax in January 2022. They claimed they couldn't change the oil or do anything without a key because they had to make one for me.

I was goin back and forward with ***- internet sales. Then Guy sales manager. I was promised the car. Got the paperwork of costs in email. They said they just needed a driver's license , and to run my credit just once to make sure i was in good standings. I told *** and *** I did not want it ran. I have been goin through divorce keepin up a good score. Then takin jeep off as trade would help. They said it would just be one time. I agreed on it to get the car for her. I had received several emails about my credit change. I looked up and it was hit 3 times not one. Then again o got email where it got hit 2 more. I called them and texted. I did not give you guys permission to run it more than 1 time. Neither will reply to my calls or texts. I told them to call those places and get those hits removed. They know im goin through a lot and tryin to keep good credit to buy a home next year as well. I have got to response at all. I did not give them permission to do so. So i want them to get them off my report. I will go through phone messages as well.but not sure i saved. Not knowin i would have a issue this bad. This is totally disrespectful. While setting up the App, we were told it would take a few hours to link, which was a bold-faced lie. However, I tried the next day to set it up, even called Toyota, only to find that my vehicle did not have the function. We've made several trips to the dealership, only to be given the runaround and absolutely no return call from the salesman or manager. This is truly disrespectful. This is the 4th car I've purchased from the location through name changes and all the lies they give. Now, I'm finally fed up and need a resolution to this. It's very unfair to be lied to and messed over out of money continuously from these people. Toyota cars are great and should not be represented in this manner. I vow not to give this location another dime. However, this should be resolved. I live in Chicago, where crimes and carjacking are on the rise. The sole purpose of getting this particular car was the automatic starter. I had a white one picked for less money and a lower car note. I'm furious and very disappointed and to the point of wanting to return the vehicle. Again, this place, through name changes, has lied, messed me out of money, and stolen from me. I purchased a Camry last year and was told if we completed a survey, we would get a gas card. We completed it and never got it. I called continually regarding my gap payment from a purchased Corolla, only to be lied to about the dealership name change and them no longer having a record. My son wants to purchase a Camry in the next few weeks, but it will not be from here. I'll be sending him to the Oaklawn location. Again, I love Toyota cars. My dad always told me to purchase Toyota. I've never had any other make. As for River Oaks, I'm done and completely disappointed.

I went in on Friday November 26 to refinance my vehicle to get a lower interest rate and lower monthly payments. My salesman told me I owed almost $20,000 on my vehicle and my interest rate was 14%. So, I thought refinancing would be a big help. But when I checked the paperwork and my current lending bank's paperwork, I found out I only owed $17,704 on my vehicle and my interest rate was only 9%. I called the dealership on Monday, November 29th to let them know I didn't want to refinance anymore because they gave me false information. The finance manager said the paperwork was already processed and couldn't be changed. They even tried to convince me to trade in my car because I would owe more with the refinance than the $17,704 I originally owed. They also said I had 66 months left on my car note when I actually had 56 months left! I called the new bank and they said the deal wasn't processed yet because it takes time, so the dealership could have canceled it if they wanted to. I tried talking to my salesman and left voicemails for the finance manager, but he never called me back. Now, I owe over $25,000 on my vehicle when I originally owed only $17,704 because of the false information from the dealership. I am so angry and disappointed that the finance manager had nothing more to say than "oops, we made a mistake." They processed it already and won't do anything about it. So now, I'm stuck owing almost another $10,000 on a car that I only owed $17,704 on!
