I have been a customer of Aegis home warranty for over 2 years. In March 2023 I experienced problems with my Rheem air conditioner (AC). I called in my service request and after three visits from the company selected by Aegis I was informed my unit repair was more than the covered amount of $2000. I was offered and accepted the difference in price, about $1900 and I made the repair I was told I needed. I paid $1300 for freon and coil cleaning. In April 2024 this year my AC stopped working again! I called and put in another service work order for my AC again. It took 2 months and 4 visits of failed service repairs by the same company for me to find my own AC company. I called Rheem and they informed me my unit should have been deemed "un-repairable". Once I notified Aegis of Rheem's technician diagnosis I was informed they would not replace nor pay for the repair. I was told by Aegis that Fortegra made their decision. I was sent a check for a little over $400! I was told by Aegis they deducted all 4 of the technician visits. I submitted proof of the repairs I made which I was told by their technician. Not only did the technician fail to repair my AC but in his last 2 visits he did not touch the AC. Now I'm out of $6000 but I only received $400.00. My yearly fees were more than the repair!. y advice to anyone considering a home warranty from this company to RUN! Do not waste your money nor time with this agency.
Claimed loss: I had to pay $6090.00 for a new AC unit.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive the price of the air conditioner I was forced to pay! $6,090.00 or my full $2,000 I paid into this company.
