Received a letter today about my "property's home warranty" with the phone number ending in 8653 to call
Received a letter today about my "property's home warranty" with the phone number ending in 8653 to call. LOL If it wasn't so wrong that the postal service allows this to continue it would be funny. Too many people "caught" by this. Instead of a return address, it has "Personal And Confidertial Open Immediately" that smacks of a government notice (but no one with a basic education would have capitilized the "a" for "And"). This is a textbook example of "let's frighten people to think this is mandatory and sell them coverage on appliances." that is not only deceptive but sleaze salesmanship. A quick Google search shows a long list of FTC complaints, too. SHAME!
I called Aegis today to cancel my warranty, I spoke with Rob, who was totally awesome
I called Aegis today to cancel my warranty, I spoke with Rob, who was totally awesome. Rob and I shared some personal experiences during my cancellation call. Rob asked why was I cancelling and I told him I found another warranty company whose premiums were much cheaper than what I was paying Aegis. Rob took his time and asked me legitimate questions concerning my cancellation and how he could be of help so that I would not lose out on the hundreds of dollars that I have already invested into Aegis's warranty plan. Rob was able to offer me the same exact coverages that i initially had at a lower monthly payment and was able to extend my payment plan. Rob was in tune to my hardship, he showed empathy, was genuinely concerned and truly looked into any and all options for me to keep my warranty. Before writing this review I looked at the previous comments whether true or false, and they have made me even more grateful that I got the chance to speak with Rob today, he was and still is a blessing that was on the other end of the phone. When you think about Customer Service and what it means to you, for me, Rob is the poster board of Customer Service, he went way above and beyond for my customer satisfaction and has helped to ease a burden that I foreseen into the near future. I truly thank Rob for all that he has done for me today, I just made a long distance friend in Rob and I pray that him and his daughter has a prosperous lifetime journey together for all greatness and that he stays humble and blessed as he has blessed me today. THANK YOU ROB:)
I received a "final notice" with immediate response requested
I received a "final notice" with immediate response requested. The notice includes urgent and threatening language about how my policy is about to or has expired. The notice provides very little, if any, information about who the notice is from and the letter does not provide a return address. Examples of the language included in the letter. It includes a deadline for when to respond by. "Home warranty.. may be expired or has already expired" "Please call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU" "Our records indicate that you HAVE NOT CONTACTED us yet to get your home warranty up to date" "Without a home warranty in place, you are at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs" "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage after 5 days." "EXTREMELY URGENT & TIME SENSITIVE - IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" The letter includes enough personal information about my bank, address, or mortgage lender to seem legitimate. At first I bought into this notice and thought I may indeed have lapsing coverage, but the address provided is a rental address vs. the address of the home that I own. In fine print at the bottom of the notice it states "Not all consumers have previous coverage." I called the phone number provided and the agent could not confirm or deny if I had an existing policy (I don't) because he worked in a different department. I spoke with a supervisor (or someone pretending to be) and he also could not confirm or deny my coverage. The folks I spoke with were attempting to sell me coverage, despite my current residence being a rental where I am not liable for repairs. All conversations about my "expired or expiring" policy turned back to a sales pitch or an explanation of the coverage they provide. I cannot say for certain that this is a scam, but they are using extremely predatory marketing practices. The agents were slippery and would not answer my direct questions. They became rude and condescending when I continued to ask to speak to someone who could inform me on my current policy status. This is marketing masquerading as a legitimate and urgent notice. Beware if you receive a similar notice.

Home warranty services
I have been a customer of Aegis home warranty for over 2 years. In March 2023 I experienced problems with my Rheem air conditioner (AC). I called in my service request and after three visits from the company selected by Aegis I was informed my unit repair was more than the covered amount of $2000. I was offered and accepted the difference in price, about...

I received a letter in the mail with "IMPORTANT" stamped on the outside of the envelope in big bold letters. Inside was a pink letter marked AWG Home Warranty Division. They had my address and name on it too. More big bold letters said "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" and "URGENT & TIME SENSITIVE - IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED." The letter said "This letter is to inform you that the property's home warranty at [my address] may be expiring or may have already expired," and "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage..." etc., etc. All this even though I have never in life owned a home warranty. They wanted $350 to over $7,000 for warranties on appliances. The letter had a "property code" of *** which I did not recognize. They sent me this unsolicited mail with inflammatory language referring to a warranty I never had. They tried to make it sound like I would be in trouble if I didn't buy what they were selling.
Add me to the chorus of consumers complaining about this company's marketing practices. I received a mailer today with no return address marked "personal and confidential." It contained a pink mailer advising me that my home warranty "may be expiring or may have already expired." It urged me to respond by Aug. 23. First of all, my policy does not expire until January. I want to stop receiving mailers from this company.
Aegis Home Warranty Group/AWG keeps sending me pink advertisements that try to trick a person into thinking they have actually done business with them and now the warranty is about to expire. I have called them before to ask them to stop sending me this misleading junk mail, but I whoever answered the phone did not even ask for my address, the person just said whatever, and kept talking to someone in the background about an Amazon order they were expecting. I want Aegis Home Warranty Group/AWG to remove my information from their database and the database of their associates right now.

I filing this on behalf of my mother ***
I filing this on behalf of my mother ***. She mistakenly ordered a Home warranty policy thinking it was for home owners insurance. I asked to have it cancelled and I was told it was on 12/28. I was emailed a transaction Id with info about the refund however the money never showed up on my mom's credit card account. I called numerous times since then and have been told by Aegis that they believe the refund was sent and not rejected but it still has not shown up on my mom's statement. I can't imagine Visa not being able to track or reject a payment so I still believe the issue with the refund lies with Aegis and hoping they will resolve.

I have started receiving PINK LETTERS from AWG (AEGIS WARRANTY). I do not want your business and want the PINK LETTERS to stop. PINK LETTERS are coming to 2 different addresses that are owned by me. The company AWG (AEGIS WARRANTY) is a SCAM. The information in the PINK LETTERS is NOT even TRUE. PLEASE stay OUT of my PRIVATE LIFE! All PINK LETTERS delivered to my addresses after this message (5/11) will be handed to my lawyer.
We received a pink letter in an envelope with no return address. The envelope noted "Personal and Confidential Open Immediately" and clearly misleading and attempting to heighten unnecessary attention. The letter cited our address and advised for an "Immediate Response Requested" because our property's home warranty at our address "may be expiring or may have already expired". We have NEVER done business with AWG. And never have had a home warranty policy with any company. The letter is written to misguide a homeowner into believing something is expiring and renewal is necessary. A toll free number is noted, but the company's identifying logo or address is mysteriously missing. The letter contains "Notice Date June 14" and in bold letters "Please Respond By: July 5" and a sentence placed on the letter designed to stand out that says: "We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage after 5 days". We received the mail piece today, July 8.
No one will return our calls, we pay for a home warranty every month, we have no air conditioning and no one will help

I received a letter on 06/23 from this which looked literately like pay to the order shows it could be a check to me. After opening this. Them realizing it wasn't a check enclosed and began reading it. This letter from this company claiming my home warranty was about to expire. I have no warranty on my property at all and if I decide to get one it will not be this misleading company like this. I called the number on the letter talk to a profound idiot after I stated that I took the letter a threatening and you're not to send another. Trying to bully me on the phone as she was demanding info this AWG sent me. I feel that it a scam type company and after reviewing the info on ComplaintsBoard.com its time to shut them down for there behavior.

I purchased a home warranty from Aegis for a three year contract that begin 6/15. I had finance agreement with them for $3249 that I paid off in 15 months. When I was still paying the agreement during the 15 months I had no issue with them getting me service but Now that my warranty agreement is a year away from expiring they don't even call me back. My warranty is a "Premier Warranty" that covers appliances, major systems, plumbing and my automatic garage door. In December , my heating /ac system was not working, Aegis sent out of serviceman who called in the issue to Aegis who did not covered it. It was my thermostat not working and it needed replacement and it cost me $323.00. I had already paid Aegis over $1250 for the warranty. This repair costs me 6 times the service fee plus the service fee. Just this month July 11th my AC fan went out, I could not Aegis to return my call to get someone out to check it so I called the AC person that they sent before and he came July 12th. I paid $241.00 for that repair (unit fan not working). I could not wait on them because its Texas and hot and I am nearly 80 years old. As mentioned before my garage doors were also supposed to be covered under the warranty i purchased. In June my garage door needed repair, the company said that it was not covered. At the time of my signing the agreement in 2018 there was no exclusions listed for the garage door, it costs me $900.00 total because I had to split the repair so I could afford it. Instead of costing me $60.00 it costs me 15 times that amount. I paid a hefty amount for the "Premier PLan", i expected more for my money and less lies. I feel Aegis should reimburse me for the so called non covered repairs or explained to be why the Premier PLan is different and more valuable than their other plans if it does not cover what I paid extra for. I am out $1450.00 and should be reimbursed for that amount. Also I don't see an explanation in the contract I signed where the "Premier Plan" does not cover what they denied. I paid extra for the garage to be covered.
My wife and I received the attached notice unrequested. We attempted to discover where this company obtained the information cited in this notice. We were not able to obtain that information because the people we talked to refused to provide how they obtained the information.
I have had a home warranty with this company since 1-8-2019, and I pay $213 a month
I have had a home warranty with this company since 1-8-2019, and I pay $213 a month. My contract number is ***. In May, I had an issue with my microwave so I called the warranty company. I paid a $65.00 service fee to a company that did not come out. I called Aegis back and *** gave me another business to use. I called and had to pay them an $89 service fee for them to tell me there was nothing they could do. So I have been paying $213 a month and I paid $154 in service fees. This is just a microwave and by now I could have just purchased a new one. I cannot get any sort of resolution. I have never called them before but after this experience I do not trust that if I had another issue they would be able to take care of it.

I am writing on behalf of my 90 year old mother. Last August, she received the "pink letter" others have mentioned from AWG Home Warranty Division, with the header "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" and "URGENT AND TIME SENSITIVE - IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED". The letter stated that her current home warranty had expired or was about to expire and that she was a risk of having liability. She has some cognitive challenges following a mini-stroke, and she believed she was at risk of losing her home insurance for fire, flood, etc. She signed up for this home warranty and between 8/21 and 5/19 has paid $2,237.20 in premiums, debited from her account monthly ($215.80/mo after the first $295 payment). It was only when I was reviewing her bank accounts recently (as her power of attorney) that I noticed these charges. I also looked at other home warranty providers that will provide the same level of coverage for about a quarter of the cost. Thank you for your assistance - *** PS - I have provided my mother's name and address. The phone number and e-mail address are mine.

On or about the week of May 11 my 92 year old mother and I called in a claim for her Amana refrigerator (only the bottom drawers of the fridge and freezer worked but neither keep food cold and freezes). The repairman arrived on May 19th but only stayed 3 minutes, and on his way out of the door said the compressor overheated, he reconnected the fan and it should be fine and to monitor it over night. The next morning there was not change, just as we thought it would be as no repairs, tools or thorough diagnosis of the refrigerator was conducted within 3 minute appointment. We called the claims dept. the next day and expressed our dissatisfaction with the so-called service professional and was told to wait an additional 2 days for another service person to come out and appropriately evaluate the appliance. It is now 3 WEEKS LATER AND NOT ONE PHONE CALL or appointment has been made. We have called 4 times about this and we keep getting promises of service. My mother has been charged $118.40 per month since 2019. Now her refrigerator side has not stopped working and food has been disposed of while waiting on repairs this warranty did not provide according to the policy.

I am filing this complaint on behalf of my 81 year old mother ***, account who has been taken advantaged of by this companies practices. My mother was led to believe by advertisement sent to her that this was a renewal of her existing home warranty service. This was actually a completely different company that after signing up now auto debits from my mothers account over 100 dollars a month! Now her account and fixed income is being hit by her existing warranty and this warranty. When she realized this agreement was by mistake she attempted to cancel by phone and was repeatedly harassed. She was told in order to move forward she would have to sell her home first! It was insane the way they were speaking to my mother and treating her. I got involved and forced them to explain how my mother could cancel. They instructed us to fill out a form in a back of a booklet and IT CLEARLY STATED CANCELLATION. Despite us following these instructions they still CHARGED MY Mothers BANK ACCOUNT AGAIN. This is absolutely ridiculous. Don't trust these people they are scammers, thief's, liars, and take serious advantage of seniors by confusing them and then harassing them when they try and leave. The liar told us to mail it to *** because he told us it would be "faster" , even though the form had ***. We called to ensure they received the cancellation and was AGAIN harassed about canceling. He rudely told us it was canceled and promised to send a confirmation but never did. WE DEMAND a cancellation AND for my mother to be REFUNDED HER MONEY BACK debited from her account in May, clearly AFTER THE CANCELLATION.

SHAME!
