I have been using internet from my airtel sim on my computer over an year or so. On 9th may, Rs.55 (approx.) was deducted from my account.
When I contacted customer care, they told me i was using airtel live even without any such settings!
Now my question is when i am connecting with dial up connecting, how can i choose between airtel live or mobile office?
I was already doing this over an year and this deduction suddenly happens on 9th may.
Is there any way that I get my money back else i m left with option to switch operator...

I had faltered a Bill Payment for my number in Bangalore intentionally as Customer Care failed to change my address requesting as many times as possible following all possible IVRS, walk-in to store etc. I thought of stopping the payments and get things done. I still owe Bharti my Bill and as an User - I will be paying it - but are there ways correct?
The collections department for Bharthi hinders into its customer's privacy and analyze the calling details and call up your family, near and dear ones and protray as the courier service. I had earlier spend lot of my energy in understanding this and in fact to all my surprises even Legal team of Airtel is aware of it... They have a lame attitude and just say that there's not any compliance which they are not following.
Is this right? the collection team just talk in a very abusive language - not sure how to deal this - but I guess this moves forward. Please feel free to comment and I will be more than willing to contribute...
I gotta call today again and in the same model and with almost similar language... I have attached an email for reference with names and numbers masked...

I would be in position to confirm the due-payments only after your reponse and assurances on the address change and query resolution. Please help me in taking this forward. I would like to retain the number and use it even in coming times. The disconnect to service is understandable on the non-payments of bills.
I appreciate your time for the telephonic discussions yesterday and allowing me for putting forward my concerns to you. I have requested you earlier through this email and assured you that I would be making the payments; but needed an assurance from you on the conflict item which has been long due.
As per my request for not giving me a call, Mr. Ram; an Airtel authority kept calling me and also been arrogant over the discussions. He kept insisting on a negative tone that Payments has to be made today, else he would approach my cousin who stays in Bangalore. Even my request and affirmation to him that I have had an on-going email communication with you; he failed to recognise it and said that I am trying to fool him.
Please note that the he has procured the address of my cousin/aunt in a falsified way by portraying as a Courier guy with undelivered courier. He procured the address from my brother (who's number was picked from my calling list [hindering my privacy]). I have marked my brother in this communication as CC. He did Blackmailed me saying that he is standing outside the gate of my aunt and he would approach my aunt who stays in Nandi Enclave if I do not make a payment by evening.
I would want you to let you know that Mr. XYZ123, my attorney for law; marked on this email will take the discussion forward with you and would like to understand that whether all consumers are treated, blackmailed in the similar fashion; whilst I have been reachable on my alternate number and email. My immediate concern is the safety of my family and friends who has been approached through my references.
I would like to get the payment done only after the resolution has been identified and proper legal action as permitted by Law is done.

1. A person uses my private calling numbers (people whom I have called in last 3 months ) and reach out friends and relatives seeking false story and trying to defame on the grounds of non-payment bill is highly unacceptable.
2. I have been with the service for more than half decade when Airtel was mere the entry level brand in the market; and expected very high level of professional behavior while resolving the conflict on the item
3. Folks from collection called up my family with false identification of "courier folks" and seeking details when you have had alternate mode of connectivity available.
While I have been missing on the payments in past one year is because of your portal does not allow the change of address when it comes to change the address in city; I have atleast made this statement loud and clear upteenth times that I have got myself relocated to Hyderabad. The loyalty was so high that, I kept the number in Roaming to retain the number and service. I hope you should have realized it by now.
I have earlier written to people on the limitations of portal address not to be changed and expected a response/notifications. Also, the capabilty to make a payment has never been a challenge as my bills have always been around 5k-7k as an average and had been a continous payment throught out.
Mr. Ram (probably name changed) of telephone number +[protected]; had a real bad tone and lacked basic etiquettes to speak to the customer. I would sincerely appreciate if he does the due dillegence and respect an individual before talking to the person.
Please suggest me the next step; and if required I am ready to address the concern in the required legal forums and would like to bring the discrepancy in services from both sides.
I would like to confirm the payment of bill by 07-Nov-09 and response to this email will determine the mode.

I hope this is not one of those "Good Cop" Email and to neutralize what's happening. At the outset, looks like even you are accepting the fact that this is a very standard practice of "getting things done". Is Airtel authorized to share personal information from calling list and share with Third Parties. I do not remember signing anything with Airtel.

You can't sue them due to "lack of evidence". You can't track back the numbers from where you got a call. They even resort to deleting compliants from their customer care systems. I'm myself a hapless victim that moved to Vodafone after trying to get a compliant resolved for over an year. When writing to the Appelate authority did not help, I decided not to pay my bill. However, I continued to write to Airtel about this every week. Within a month of the due date some one called my cousin posing as a courier and asked for my number, some one came home asking for the bill and some one called my Dad and threatned him!

I am nitin garg customer id [protected], I have launched a complaint of set top box not working on 17/4/11 (Complaint no 7042567) for set top box not working. Got a visit of engineer on same day and I was told that airtel is short of set top box and dont know much time it will take to replace.
On 22nd I got a message from airtel that my problem is resolved. But my set top box was still not working, so I tried soo many times to launch complaint and then on 23rd relaunched the complained with no 7279802 and same day enginner visited and replace the set top box, but error code 14 was comming due to which I am not able to watch the tv.

I have callled him 5 times on 30th april (1:39 pm, 2:12 pm, 5:42 pm 5:45 pm) , 2 times on 1st may (2:59 pm, 3:05 pm) 2nd may (10:04 am, 3:51 pm, 7:40 pm, 7:43 pm, 7:47 pm, 7:50 pm, 7:59 pm, 8:15 pm, 8:25 pm) , 3rd may (9;25 am) , 6 th may (7:50 pm).
Got a call from 011-[protected] on 26th april (12:50 pm) , 2nd may 5:25 pm, 4th may (9:17 am, 5:44 pm) , 7th may 11:38 am and always told about my problem that it is not been resolved till today.
On 3rd may even got a call from 044 - 45921600and told them the same thing.
At last after such a long followup my box was working after 21 days. So I am really thankfull to airtel for the above services extent to me.

Am using Airtel post paid connection for more than 3 years, earlier i used pre-paid connection & then converted the same in to post paid connection.
Today morning while speaking a call the networks is disconnected automatically & afterwards the contacts in the SIM are not readable and showing that the contacts are not ready.am unable to view my contacts which all are very very important to me.
Related this issue i have approached customer care, local Airtel show room & their customer care, but i didn't got the proper response & solution.

I went to Ross in Kingsport tennessee yesterday and when trying to check out the other cashier in the customer serv box was not doinh anything. She finally turned around and waived at a woman she knew and told her to come over there and she would get her. Well assuming on my part she was going to help assist the rest of us I went to Ms. Marshalls line only to be told "i will not check you out you can go back to the other line" Ok i tossed a shirt on the counter which was five feet from her. She then accused me of trying to hit her, lol. I advised her that was not so and If that were my intentions I was not that bad of a shot. She then told me we would take it outside. CAn you all believe this? I told her ok come on I was not gonna put up with her ###. She wouldnt come out from behind the counter. She threantened me! The manager heard her and came up front when she was yelling at me. After telling the manager she lied and said that she did not say that. Everyone in the store heard the woman and really got mad because she was lieing and the other cusotmers told her she was a liar. I called the Dist. Manager Tim White, well he is as big a joke as she was because he lied to me, said he reviewed the tapes and he had not he was out of town! Wow this must be the requirement for a job there you have to be a liar. As with anything not everyone wil agreee with anything. Mr white never called me back i had to call his sorry [censored] back. Then he takes up for the beligerent, uneducated, rude and obnoxious employee he has ! Wow I have to keep reminding my self and this is America, huh, right) I did not do anything to deserve this and am intending on filing a lawsuit this is ridiculous. I go to a store to shop and am threatened by a store employee? The worst part is that the district manager is just as sorry as she is! He had not even seen the tapes and he was out of town so how could he have seen them but he said he did. I adivsed him there was no way he had seen those tapes and to stop his lieing. he did not disagree with this. I will never ever spend a dime there again! not ever! cheating business of airtel thru their very efficient thief executives
Airtel Company now starts cheating to their Customer specially pre-paid by automatically deducting there prepaid balance frequently, a banch of efficient thief executives are there & they don't care to here the problem of customer. I am a pre-paid customer of Airtel during last one decade bearing no.[protected], previously it was a post paid connection, but there has been various fishy charges reflected in my postpaid bill then I switch over to pre-paid connection during last six years.
During last 3 months i noticed that my pre-paid balances are automatically deducted time to time, though I was in use of hello-tune it has been changed Rs. 30.00 per month but some times it has been charged twice in a month. I have made complaint regarding this, but the executives of Airtel Customer care are very irresponsible they don’t care the problem of customer. Yesterday(03.05.11 ) around 12.09pm I’ve received two sms followed by one after another from so called Highly Efficient Airtel Customer care dept. are as follows
1) ” your Hello Tune has been changed to Geeta Slok absolutely free. To search your favorite song SMSto 578785(Free)”
2) “You have been charged Rs. 60.00 for 90 days for Hellotune Service to deactivate this service dial [protected].toll free…”
I am surprised as I’ve not made any request to change my Hello tune at all. Hence I called up Customer care regarding this they previously try to convince me that the request was coming from my side when I ask them to play the voice recording of myself regarding the above request then they transfer the call to their Senior executive, he told me yes it is actually automatically changed due to a fix programme. I request him to get back my old Hello Tune & refund back of Rs. 60.00. he told it is not possible to return old Hello Tune the amount of Rs. 60.00 will refund back if I deactivate the Hello Tune. I repeatedly enquire about that is it possible to refund Rs. 60.00 after deactivation of Hello Tune that person repeatedly assure me yes it is the only way to refund back the amount & with in 20 min I’ll receive the SMS of the same. Hence I became agree above deactivation. I’ve recd deactivation sms at 2.34pm another two sms bearing request no.[protected] at.2.40pm & [protected] at 2.45pm on 03.05.11. From yesterday till now at 1.55pm I ve made at least ten to fifteen calls regarding refunding of Rs. 60.00. which they deducted wrongly…today they openly told me the amount is not refundable ….
I don’t understand what is going on it is openly snatching of money there is no scope to trust to any body the Representative of a RENOUNED COMPANY LIKE AIRTEL. The situation is, They made the mistake from their end but they denied their wrongly act, they force us to act accordingly that they are needed. After this they wave the all responsibility to customer’s shoulder. The person like me who are attached in a working world they have not enough time to look after what is going on wheather the pre-paid balance deducted or not. Yesterday accidentally I’ve noticed & then knocked to the customer care…now till date after receiving their way of response I’m vary much worried about their activity..I am sorry & dare to say that “they are nothing but SOFISTICATED THIEF PAID BY AIRTEL CO.

refund of charges debited
I have mobile connection no. [protected]. Today all of asudden the account has been debited by Rs.15/ &6o/ stating charges for hello tunes. Immediate on receipt of message I asked them to deactivate and refund the debited amount. Hello tune services deactivated but not refunding the amount so debited. They explained me over phone that it had been activated at my request which is not acceptable logically as if at all I would require this services, why should I ask them to deactivate immediately on receipt of message for activation.
Kindly arrange to get me the refund for Rs.75/ immediately.
In the past also on one occasion it happened and they refunded me afterwards.

Balance of Rs. 25/ is still held up by the company. Such an conservative aptitude breaks the feelings of the users . It does not allow them to appreciate your style before the others.

I am using Airtel prepaid sim since 2 and Half years. My mobile number is [protected].I recharged my phone in 24/4/2011 for RS 50 in morning after some times i check my balance it will be zero amound i called the custmer care exicutive and that exicutive not give me a proper explanation and then I called again the custmer care exicutive she told me that i download some application through mobile office i am activated my GPRS plan in middle of april using RS98 rechage and that will discus with the exicutive. She told me that the call will pass to the TEAM LEADER after sime time the phone in hold some times later they cut my phone.some time later i called the customer care again again and not getting the call.I think they will my block my call. I have been barred from making outgoing calls with the justification that my id proof has not been submitted to airtel office
I had been contacted by a person who introduced herself as an agent working with airtel (Vazhuthacaud office) and put forth the new offer from airtel, whereby I was getting a sim, complimented to the corporate sim that I am currently using, for the payment of rupees 100. I had gone forth with the offer and had submitted my proof details to polite. [protected]@gmail.com which I was told was the mail id of the franchise. I had submitted my proof to this id since I could'nt meet the customer service executive in person. I received the sim via courier service from the same group polite. Associates. I want to check with airtel if this franchise is authentic and if so, why I had been barred of rightful service for the past 3 days for which I had made 2 to 3 calls to the customer care. If there is no autheticity in these franchises then why is airtel promoting the sale of sim through these franchises which is causing such pain to the customers who are barred of their rightful service.

non payment of bill
I went to custmer relation office of airtel at leela bhawan patiala to pay bill of my mobile no.[protected] for april, 2011 at about 6.00pm, but they refused to accept the cash as they were sitting idle and accepted rs.2000/- from some cusomer but not from me. Airtel should not appoint any such agent who give bad name to airtel

disconnection of service
The company has very poor after sales service. The minimum wait time on the toll free number provided is at least 12 to 13 minutes before anyone responds. To add insult to this if they are unable to solve the problem they never answer the calls made from the registered mobile phone with the company. On top of this theuy will send a sms saying that your complaint has been solved without acyually bothering to do so. The company does not respond to any emails either. Its a shame that the company being an indian firm is actually behaving in a very shameful manner. This in a time when other indian companies are trying to compete with multinationals.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
airtel prepaid to postpaid conversion
I am holding airtel prepaid sim card. I received a call from airtel agents suggesting for prepaid to postpaid conversion. I got convinced and a guy named jeetu pavale (+[protected]) came for collecting necessary document on april 07, 2011. I was assured that the whole process wud take max 7 days. I was charged rs.300 / - for the conversion and received the receipt (Receipt no. 106449) and a welcome kit (Sim card inside). But till now it is not activated. I have been calling the airtel representative who came for collecting the documents since long and that fellow is not at all picking up my calls. Pissed off calling hundred time daily to the airtel representatives and on the top of it they assured me tht the complaint has been registered and I would be getting call from the responsible person in 24 hrs. Also provided me with the request no. [protected]. Its been a week but didnt receive any calls from them!
This agent is seriously spoiling the name n image of airtel.
My question is - is there any way through which I can check if my documents have been submitted with airtel or not.
I m afraid that by doing this kind of act they are just making fool of general public.

I got it resolved after visiting airtel galary many times.
Iam holding Airtel prepaid sim card. Applied for prepaid to postpaid conversion a month ago. Submitted the proofs and verfication is also done. They charged Rs.100/- for the conversion.
But till now it is not activated. They have given new sim card and when i install it in phone, it is showing as 'unregistered sim'. Pissed off calling hundred time daily to the Airtel representatives.
Airtel is known for such mischief...Change your connection to BSNL and you will save money as well as have less headache.
inflated bill
My name is dixit mehra, I activated my airtel 3g a month back, which btw does not work well, the reason that I got the 3g services activated in the 1st place was to watch live matches, but that also doesnt work. Also I have activated rs599 plan for unlimited internet usage through blackberry edge and my average monthly bill rs 2000-rs 3000.
For the whole month I used the internet as I normally do, now guess how much my bill is this month? Rs 10, 380/-, out of which my internet usage is rs8500. I have not downloaded any movie, or video or any other extra stuff. Its not even possible to get such a bill amount. On the other side, my father activated his 3g services on vodafone the same time, and he uses it much more than I do, you know how das get excited with new technology, he also used it as a modem while his home wireless was on, and guess how his bill was... Only rs 1800.
Airtel people are just robbing the customers, and btw I ve been a loyal customer past 15 years. Thats the service they provide to their loyal customers.

one month back airtel executive approach me for internet connection name yogender khanna and describe about the plan in which first fifteen days you get the plan 749+ tax after fifteen days it will converted into 449+tax. after fifteen days i contact he said your connection is converted in that plan. but now i came to know from airtel people tht your bill is 943. so think this is cheating to me. now airtel people are harrasing me to pay that amount.

Airtel Broadband Coustumer service is absoulutly bad after waiting for a longtime in IVRS i get connected and the executive asks me the phone number again, this not the first time i am being asked the number, everytime i call i have to enter the landline number and i get connected to the executive what is the whole point to get landline conformation and saying tecnical problem we cant get ur landline number. When i ask why is that every time you say technical problem Airtel executive says please speak in professional words. I lost my cool and gave him peace of heat. I had enough of you dogs service. I would like to complant that this airtel broadband internet is extremly slow and my complant always lands up in calls from technical people from airtel and no one comes to check. I am pissed off. 6 months back when a technical person came to check and told the modem is old model. Later no one came to check whats the statues. again i had to call to follow up and its the same thing happening again.
Even if this time the same thing continues I will be taking this very seriously.

Airtell customer service sucks, big time, first of all there is no network. When ever I call up the hotline number... The agent puts me on hold for 10 mins and then disconnects my call... And then I call again... And repeat my situation... I had requested for a port from airtel to vodafone.. Airtel disconnected my line completly... The same thing happened to me, today. First of all, i was using free facebook scheme(which is free for 4 telecom cos);and i have lg simple phone. First of all, the free facebook cut 0.10rs(i had been using it free for 10 days). Then after i turned it off for 10 min. Just for query, i checked my balance, Rs 55 rs was cut.What the hell.Instantly, i contacted Customer service and registered a complaint.They have told that they will answer by august17.In the last 3 years, 400-500 rs have been cut for no reason.This time, nothing constructive happens, i will use MNP.
