just for u
I jumped through the hoops to join 'Just for U', as that is the ONLY WAY we can get the best price. Although fairly computer literate (had my own bookkeeping business for years) I understood all I had to do was email the special deal to myself and show them - or print it off. Not so. The cashier said no, it needs to be on my cell phone. Here's the thing. Being almost 70 and not wanting to pay monthly cell charges since we don't really need a cellophane, we renew a smartened every winter for winter travel and get a new number each year. So... having the preferred price printed out, having an email with the preferred price DOES NOT GET ME THE PREFERRED PRICE. What the heck? I'm very disappointed in Albertans and wonder if they'd take blood. Why do we seniors who carefully watch how we spend our money have to do everything with a cellophane? And why must we buy FIVE of an item to get a good price? It seems to me to be very discriminatory to seniors and/or those with low incomes. Seems like the rich get richer while the poorer ones have to pay a higher price. Why? Because we either can't afford to buy 5 of any one item and/or we cannot use that many orange juice, or whatever.
gift card program
Since Albertsons bought Safeway and took over their Gift card / gas rewards program my local Albersons store has done nothing but botched up the program. Their cash registers rarely upload your phone number, and the gas rewards don't register. Today I was supposed to get $10 off a gift card I loaded on my app, and the discount didn't come up. The cashier Maya had no clue how it works or why it didn't come off. They proceeded to call one of the managers Tim who spent 10 minutes trying to convince me that I didn't know how to use the app, or that I must have done everything wrong. Very rude, never once tried to help, just blame me for everything. I was finally able to get another manager who processed a $10 store gift card. I have been a Vons/Safeway customer for the last 20 years and that never happened in their store.
not being able to buy gift cards using a debit card
Albertsons 4301 212th St SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043 has a new policy that gifts cards may only be purchased using cash. I was told that I could not purchase a gift card using my debit card.
I get that there is fraud, but this is a horrible policy. I could understand not allowing people to purchase cards with a check or credit card, but a debit card is just like cash. Additionally no other store in this entire area has such a ridiculous policy.
I put back the entire cart of items I was going to purchase along with the gift card and went to Fred Meyer where they happily accepted my Debit cad for my entire purchase.
I hope the owner/manager of this store rethinks this policy before he looses a lot of regular customers for the holiday season
It's likely that if they are making this a policy, there have been several incidents to warrant it. I'm sure they're aware that this will result in a loss of profits. Unfortunately many P.O.S. systems can't properly distinguish between credit and debit cards.
just for you problem at store # 1221, chandler, az
As I do every week I looked up my just for u offerings, hit the add to list on the items I was interested in. Then I printed it out and went shopping at store #1221. I was overcharged o the item I purchased and was told to go to the customer service booth for a refund. When I got there I told the lady that has been there a long time( her name may have been Pam) she looked at my just for you list and said this is just my list, that I have to down load that on my phone to work and that my list was just for my reference? I asked her why did the other items on my list ring the just for u price correct if my list wasn't loaded? She had no answer which was surprising as long as she has been there and did not understand the just for u program. She called up Nora and I explained my issue and the incorrect price I was charged. The items in question were the Pick Sweet Harvest Frozen vegetables (limit 4) for 49 cents each. I was charged $1.67 each. Nora told me that the special was for select types, I showed her my printed list and it DID NOT MENTION SELECT TYPES. It just says 10-oz. limit 4. Then she said it was the ones that were on sale for $1.49 that qualify for the 49 cent price. The items I purchased were 10 OZ. Pict Sweet Simple Harvest Frozen Vegetables, corn and cauliflower that they said did not qualify? My printed list DID NOT say SELECT TYPES. Ironically the regular retail on all these types was $2.29? Why wasn't my 4 items honored? What originally upset me was when I was initially told that "MY LIST" was just my list, not a loaded . It had to be in my phone. In the end I asked Nora if she could make a management decision and honor what your just for you copy and price read and she said NO she can't over ride a price? ?What do you do with a rain check if you can't over ride a price? There was another blond lady that was also involved at the end and was just totally cut and dried on the decision. I am in awe of lack of customer service today as well as an employee that has been in the location so long (Pam)not being up to date on your new important Just for U program?
(I still have my print out)
Thank You,
John Becker

bag price
Why are we being charged 25 cents a bag here at Albertsons here in Chino California..being elderly and living on social security doesn't leave a lot of money for extras..10 cents is gouging the public already..originally they were getting rid of plastic due to the environment..so we know that was a scam..I am going to make a public announcement to local and state government about the scam you so proudly approve of..I will start a boycott
thanksgiving holiday dinner
I called the Albertsons in Albuquerque, N.M. to see if they sold just a baked whole turkey and they said they didn't have any only in the dinner. I make my own stuffing and asked if I could substitute the stuffing for mash potatoes and was told yes, so I ordered the plain mash potatoes. When I went to pick up my dinner the sales person was giving me a hard time about the substitution and that it was only offered like it was in the newspaper ad. It was written on the ticket and after a short conversation, she agreed. I took the box and went to pay for it. When I got home they had given me expired loaded mash potatoes, the rolls were soggy. I had to go out and buy mash potatoes and rolls. The turkey was a big disappointment, it was very salty and didn't taste good. For $57.00 I feel let down because I have always ordered my Thanksgiving dinners from you for the past 7 years.
The dinners in the past always had a nice Butterball turkey, 2 large tubs of mash potatoes and stuffing and King's Hawaiian rolls.
It ruined my families and mine Thanksgiving. I will not ever order a Holiday dinner again.
cashier
My mother in law and I were checking out with the cashier named Dan at the store on George Dieter and Montwood in El Paso Texas. Not only did the cashier give my mother in law attitude but he was very rude. He also turned around to another cashier and made faces and a rude comment about my mother in law. This is extremely unprofessional and we will no longer be going to your store or recommending your store to any one. My mother in law always spends a lot of money at your store. Your stores need to let their cashiers have training in being professionals with customers and the way that they interact with customers.
store manager
A great store with one glaring fault:
Mike, the store manager, who works day shifts during the week. He is a small, weak, pompous and rude the little man who falsely accused me of theft not two minutes after I entered the store and was about to ask him for help in locating men's hair products, simply because I was carrying a book bag. Astoundingly, the heated exchange that followed almost resulted in him confiscating and stealing my book bag and keeping it at the store. Even more surprising is the fact that I had been in the store four hours earlier, book bag slung around my shoulder, and personally did business with him at the Money Gram counter. Then, to top it off, he told me never to return to the store. Ha! Fat chance. I'll visit the store whenever I damn well please. After all, their produce is excellent. :-)
I have since filed a formal complaint with corporate, although I doubt anything will result of it. However, I am glad I pointed out his rude behavior to corporate because I know it will be filed somewhere in the back of his personnel packet.
african employees that are infecting the grocery bags and entire store, with std virus germs. 07/2017-12/2017
I was shopping at Albertsons, La Mesa, 12/01/17, around 4-5pmdt, Friday.
As I checked, the clerk had put up a closed sign, so do was the last person thru, a black lady walked over, to bag my groceries. I had warned her the first time saw her on duty as a Checker, to not bother me, at all.
She did, and after leaving the store, I have discovered that my bag is infected with STD virus, on purpose. HIV aids or STEVEN Johnson syndrome.
Please provide your accredited medical documentation proving that the individual who assisted you and your items carry this virus.
Why would you believe that?
unfair treatment
i was on 3010 e 57th approximately at 12.30 pm. Aisle 10 . My card was being rejected by the machine twice for some reason. I have $912 in my card and when I explained it could be the machine and asked her to try it manually or swipe it, she was completely rude and embarrassed me in front of other customers as i liked like a fool in there by her response. She told me I can only bring another card. I don't understand why I have to do that while I have on on hand? I took this very seriously because I am sure she did this because of how I look! You can check my credit and see if i am telling the truth! I am a business owner and never have I went in a store doubting if my card will go through! This is rude and unfair for anyone!
Precooked turkey dinner
To:
Albertsons Management 11/24/2017
From;

To Whom it may concern,
I purchased the turkey dinner package for Thanksgiving. The deal was $49.95 for
turkey, gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
I am going to assist you in doing a better job with the dinner and your customers.
1. Be sure the customer knows in advance that the turkey will need to be heated for at least 2-3 hours and possibly thawed before hand. There was NO mention of that at all when I ordered the meal. I was under the impression that I would be picking up a freshly cooked meal. So much for thinking I would be saving time and work by going this route.
2. As for quality where do I start? Does any body bother to taste the recipes? The gravy did not taste like turkey gravy and had some odd taste to it and was very salty.
3. The mashed potatoes were partially frozen and they had the odd taste as well. Their consistency was too thin and to be honest not good at all. How someone can mess up simple mashed potatoes is beyond me. Here's an idea, use potatoes, butter, a little milk and some salt and pepper. That way they will taste like potatoes.
4. The dressing was very dry and almost like crumbled up stale cornbread. Maybe gravy would have helped but not the stuff that came with the meal.
5. The cranberries were not bad if you like ice cream topping. Hey they were the only thing I didn't have to cook. I don't know if Albertson's does their own preparation or if they use the lowest bidder or the local prison to cook it.
6. Let's talk turkey. The breast was like the Mojave desert and the seasoning on the skin was not good. I got comments like "why does the skin look weird"?The dark meat was ok as long there was no skin on it.
To sum it all up it was shockingly bad. It all went straight to the trash No yummy leftovers to send home. No turkey sandwich later on. I apologized to my family and guests and headed for Del Taco. Quality control is everything and " that's good enough" does not work if you want satisfied customers. The cooks should taste something once in awhile to assure good flavor. Maybe hire someone's old granny or aunt to taste the food. Who approves the recipes? Is it someone who is afraid to say "this tastes terrible" for fear of losing his or her job?
I dare you to serve the board of directors this meal. And no fair fixing it up.
Just use it off the shelf like I did.
SERIOUSLY, someone who knows what they are doing needs to rethink recipes
and instruct the Albertsons employees regarding the info they need to give a customer regarding the prep required and the time it takes.
I'm not just some guy who had a bad day. You SERIOUSLY have a problem with this meal. Right now I would NOT recommend it to anyone. Good news travels fast but bad news travels even faster.
Sincerely,
Gary Holmes
pharmacists
Yesterday (11/28/17) I sent my husband into town (35 miles round trip) to speak to the pharmacists at the Gig Harbor WA, Borgen Blvd branch. I have severe flu. The Delsym DM w/dextromethorphan HBr and guaifenesin I have been trying to use for relief has been making me very ill, not working, and causing me to vomit with diarrhea. He spoke to the pharmacists there who told him that I should use the Mucinex (FastMAx-severe congestion & cough) that this was stronger and would be better for me for relief. He purchased this and brought this home. THIS IS THE VERY SAME THING (although the mucinex has phenylephrine HCI for nasal decongestant which I do not need)! SAME INGREDIENTS! Why would your trained and skilled pharmacists recommend the very same thing (branded differently) that was causing me to vomit and have severe diarrhea in the first place? I am a health writer and researcher and published author, I am so very disappointed in these folks for not listening, not knowing the products and not caring about their customers. Had I not been in the field I am in, I would have taken this medication and would have remained very ill from the side effects of this medication! SHAME ON YOUR PHARMACISTS! I will be spreading the news of your professionals to all my contacts and then some. Now, one of us must drive back and return the unopened Musinex bottle...for a 74 mile plus journey. Thanks!
usda choice cross rib roast or steak
The picture in the advertisement in the weekly add was not accurate and depicted a higher quality cut of meat than what was being sold. This is false advertising. When this was brought to the managers attention he told me it was just a stock photo and didn't represent what was actually being sold.
Montana law provides broad protections from false advertising and is outlined in Montana Code § [protected] and § [protected]:
In accordance to this code, it is unlawful to use any unfair or deceptive practice in advertising.
Montana law states there is a general ban on "unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices". False advertising, fraudulent sales practices, efforts to deceive consumers, and attempts to undercut free and fair competition are outlawed.
cashier behavior
I was at the Albertsons in Eagle, ID buying a baguette and the cashier, while waiting for the computer to process a transaction from the customer in front of me, he was rolling and throwing my baguette around the belt, damaging it, and then proceeded to throw it to the end of the belt and let it slide forward in his hand, as a sexual penis inuendo, with a smirky grin at me. It made me completely uncomfortable and it was unwanted sexual conduct from an employee to a customer. It was inappropriate in a work environment. He is the cashier to the left of the speedy checkouts line, looked like he was in his twenties. It was uncomfortable, unwanted, and inapropriate behavior by an employee to a customer.
advertising special
Albertsons ran a large color ad for Thanksgiving. Ribeye Roast, $4.77 a pound, offer good through November 23rd.
On November 22nd I went to Albertsons to purchase my Thanksgiving Day meal items, including the Ribeye roast. They were out! The butcher told me to get a rain check with the cashier. The cashier told me no rain checks, "the ad says while supplies last". What crappy service. I looked at the ad, while supplies last on refer to the Signature farms turkey.
Poor planning at best, bait and switch at worst.
Shame on you Albertsons for misleading the public.
signature kitchens 100% pure pumpkin
I bought the Signature Kitchens 100% pure pumpkin a while ago and used it today to bake with. The problem was with opening the can. I have a perfectly good opener but it wouldn't fully open, no matter what I did. I think the problem lies in the height of the lip. Another can I bought looks to be equally problematic. Whatever the case, I feel lucky I didn't end up in the emergency room from trying to dig open part of the lid so I could use the product. To say the least it was frustrating! I thought you should know about this issue.
trash cart
I visited the Burleson, TX Albertsons yesterday. As I entered the store an employee was emptying the large trash can outside the entry door. He had a shopping cart full of other full trash bags.
This is very unsanitary, are these carts simply used for trash service then put back into cart population.
Is this protocol at all Albertsons locations? A dedicated rubber made trash can clearly marked as trash would be the solution. Carts should not be used for anything other than patron shopping.
customer service
Jessica the front end manager of lake havasu is a very rude and inconsiderate person. On November 13, 2017 I had to ask for customer service too dairy twice. There was a disable person stuck in dairy the store scooter quit working. I asked a bag boy for help also and she was rude to him and told him to go bag instead of helping I watched her for ten minutes and she was rude to all of the employees up front as well as to some customers.
covina, california store director
I went to this Albertsons on Sunday, 11/5/17 to purchase 50 pcs of the New York strip steaks that are currently on sale for $3.99/lb (reg $13.99). I requested that they butterfly it (making it 100 pcs). The gentleman who took my order said that they ran out but he will have my order for me tomorrow. I gave him my name, number and said I'll pick it up before 8p tomorrow, Monday 11/6. I went back to the store on Monday shortly before 8 to pick up the order & was told a younger gentleman that my order was for Tues not Monday. So I left and called the store the same night and spoke to Mike. Mike said it must be a miscommunication between myself & the person who took my order and there's nothing he can do except call back tomorrow to talk to the store Direct Jim. I called Jim this morning to let him know the situation. He stated that his staff tried calling me all day on Monday to try to get a hold of me but there were no calls or miscalls on my cell phone. Then he proceed to ask me if I own a restaurant and state he doesn't & can't sell such large quantities to a single customer because he is loosing so much money on the promotional item and on top of that he doesn't have the time to butterfly the steaks for me because his store is TOO BUSY! I'm not sure how this person became the store director with that kind of attitude and demeanor towards his customer. Your company must be lacking talent to have such person in charge of this location. Very disappointed and will definately NEVER shop here again.
lack of staff. poor attitudes. rude management. nobody cares.
I live right across the street from your store on Collins Ave in the City of Orange CA. I must say that if you were not right across the street i would never come back. Every time i visit your store there is a long line of people waiting to be helped. This store is massively understaffed and the staff that is there seems like they hate every minute of it. When you make comments about the poor service they agree with you and say they are sorry. The other day i stood at the Deli counter waiting for help for nearly 25 minutes because you only staffed one person. This was between 5 and 5:30 PM which is your busy time of day and they only staff one person? I watched one customer walk out leaving a full cart of groceries. I saw another complaining that this store does this every day. I then went to check out to notice the store only staffed 2 people to work checkout. Myself along with many others stood under your "3's a crowd" sign while waiting in a line of 10+ people. every single time i visit this store there is nobody working! i have never once stood in a line with fewer than 3 people and they never send anyone to open a new check stand because they are too cheap to hire staff. I now drive further to shop at stater brothers where they value my time enough to hire staff to help. This store on Collins is downright awful. the management is rude and they knowledge the service is poor.
