It's a scam. . . Do not purchase with this club! I went through training there and they teach you how to sell ''air''. The managers teaching us referred to this product as ''air'' and showed us how to sell ''air'' to clients! They sell a discount program. Members of unlimited vacation club receive 25% off hotel rooms, but if you go through expedia or any online travel service, you'll find cheaper rates than they can get you. The cost of this membership to stay at secrets, zoetry, now, dreams or any other am resorts is $50, 000 for a 50 year membership! If you continue to say ''no'' to the price, they will drop the price all the way down to $5, 000 for a 10 year membership! The more you say ''no'' the lower the price gets. It's all about the commissions to be made and their paychecks.
Am resorts / unlimited vacation club is a new company, just a few years old and it's the worst company i have ever worked for. I have been in the vacation industry for many, many years and i do own a vacation club membership, as well as a timeshare, but never would i buy anything from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. It's companies like this one who give vacation clubs and timeshares a bad name.
Many people complain about how timeshares and / or vacation clubs rip you off and don't work, but if you know how to use them properly, they definitely work. My husband and i, along with our family, have vacationed all over the place, including going to different countries, and i can honestly say that we would have never been able to go and stay in 2 or 3 bedroom suites if we didn't have our timeshare or vacation club membership. It's been great being able to travel and stay in luxury, but with am resorts / unlimited vacation club, to pay even $5, 000 upfront just for a 25% discount is crazy. They also use rci, the same exchange company we use, but to exchange my time to go someplace different, we pay $200. 00 and unlimited vacation club charges $549. 00 to make the exact same exchange! They rip you off in every which way they can and have no problem doing so. They don't have the consumers best interest in mind, only how much money the company will make.
The resorts that am resorts / unlimited vacation clubs have are absolutely beautiful, but to pay that kind of money to get only a 25% discount is ridiculous. If you do decide to join the club and find you have a problem, forget about it, you're on your own.
For the first time in my many years of being in the vacation industry, i had some problems with discrimination and defamation of character and i tried to resolve these problems by trying to contact the ceo of am resorts / unlimited vacation club, alejandro zozaya gorostiza, and after numerous emails and calls, i received no response at all from her. I also emailed numerous times with absolutely no response to the executive vice president, gonzalo del peon, the vice president of sales and marketing, collette baruth, and the senior director of sales, matthew mullen. These people in this company didn't even have the courtesy to respond to any of my emails just to see what was happening at the unlimited vacation club. It has been 2 weeks with no response from anyone. If they can't respond back to the people who make them money, do you really think they will respond back to you if you need some help? No, no and no!
There are so many timeshare and vacation clubs out there that have what am resorts / unlimited vacation club does not have like integrity, professionalism, compassion, and honesty. Do your research about the company before you ever give any company your hard earned money. If you go on a presentation and they say '' this offer is good for today only'' they are lying. You can go back anytime and receive the exact same package they offered you. They do that because they want to earn your business that day and for no other reason. This applies to both timeshares and vacation clubs. Even if they have you sign a paper stating you can not come back the next day, or any other day, and receive any of the first visit incentives, you can. Those papers are all bogus! They try and tell you it's a legal document and it is not.
So my advice to all of you is to stay clear from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. They are filled with empty promises and all they want is your money for purchasing ''air'' so they get a paycheck that week. Trust me, i worked there, but only for a few days. I quit after i saw how they were scamming the consumers.
Best of luck to everyone and happy vacationing:)

Hi, I just agreed to pay 15, 000 DLLs with monthly payments after reading this I read the contract and its not what I agreed they told me I would get 65% off every time I stayed at any AMResort and on the contract only says 25% they also told me I would get 14 days free on any AMResort and 2 weeks with RCI for 199 a week up to 12 persons! They told me I would get that as soon as I made my 4, 500 DLL deposit It was a lie ! They don't let you read the contract they applied pressure so you sign... A total scam ! I need to cancel asap bit could find anything on the contract on how to do it ... Has anyone cancel this membership?
Sunlovers, how did you cancel? I just send an email to the addresses on the package I bought it last Friday 4/4/2015 ... Did they refund your money?
Merci d'avance
Fierro (above) has made completely untrue accusations! A verification officer goes through every page of your Club contract to make sure you understand EXACTLY what your membership entails. And the 25% lie? That's the guarantee that if after making a reservation you happen upon a retailer with a lower price (sometimes as a last minute distress sale) the Club will refund the difference and STILL give 25% discount off the lowest price!
To all of those with "problems" I can help sort out your misconceptions. The UVC is a great and honest organization. Send me your genuine "complaint" and I'll help you resolve it. Most of the complaints on this board are untrue. garrymo123@yahoo.com
what do you mean by genuine "complaint"? They tried to swindle us and that is it the reality! Now we've lost a day of holidays and 150 euros; Thank you so much UVC and his swindlers' band. Sorry for my bad english but i'm french
Can you calmly explain "how" "they" tried to swindle you? and how you lost 150 euros?
UVC TOLD YOU TO MIND YOUR OWN BEESWAX.
i am now really calm ... how i lost 150 euros ... because of the change wich was different and because we paid by visa card . they tried to swindle me because the sender Mister PROYER Severic Pascal told us that for the price of a room with 25 % less we have a suite and the access to the prefered club. that was the reasons we accept to to sign the contract . In reality all that was lies.
If UVC is as you say a great and honest organization they must not have swindler in their team. those kinds of people does not allow trust in the organization witch pay them
sorry for witch... I want to say which
We are into our second year of being a club member and so far do not feel like they haven't delivered on what was promised other than the room categories. Be very careful you know at what level you are buying. We actually upgraded our membership this past March while in the Dominican, but since then we have been contacted by what I assume is a scam. They were able to get our personal email and personal cell numbers and know that we own at Secrets Maroma. This was very disturbing to me. I immediately contacted UVC and they have informed their legal department. My second most recent gripe is that we recently booked a stay at Dreams Riveria Cancun and are taking our 17 year old daughter. When I contacted UVC about adding her to our room as we are using reward nights I was told it would be an additional $79 or $93night for the preferred club. Since we always book in the preferred club I just assumed it would be the $93 then after I actually booked our stay and called UVC to add her I was told it would be $81/night. I thought sweet. BONUS! Then I just got a call today that I was quoted wrong on all three phone calls and it will. actually be $99/night. WHAT! You decide to increase it after I have booked my stay and she is 17 so considered an adult yet we can't stay in the adult only section of the resort. I really feel they should honor the price quoted at the time of the booking. Also, as of yet we have never been able to receive room upgrade which is supposedly part of our package as well. We will see what happens this trip. I'm not holding my breath.
Apparently we purchased within weeks of you and have had the same bad experience. They have repeatedly lied and every time I phone them I continue to get the same attitude, even to the point that their employee yelled at me on the phone and told me that the benefits I was to receive were the exact ones i signed for in our contract. After looking at contract, they were correct, but only because they had conveniently changed the verbage in the contract to something different from what we were told in the sales presentation. We were also told that we could visit our home resort anytime we wanted for "free" and the only thing that we would be charged for was approximately $82 per night per person for the food, because after all, it was an all-inclusive resort. That if it wasn't for that, then we would be able to stay there for free.
When I did try and book a vacation, just like some of the other complaints, It was a mere 25% off discount. If you take into consideration your large down payment and ensuing monthly payments after that, you would have been able to receive the same package (sometimes for even less), by just paying for your vacation outright. I CANNOT BE ANY CLEARER, THERE IS NO DISCOUNT HERE AT ALL.
I also tried booking a vacation through RCI and was told that this particular vacation club in not like all the others, in that you can log-on directly to RCI and transfer your weeks to be used within their system but for some unknown reason AM Resorts does not operate that way. That's because your weeks only costs $219 to book a reservation through RCI and that's it. Am Resorts charges several fees to deposit your weeks withing the RCI reservation system and then you still have to pay RCI an additional $219 to book through them. AM Resorts/UVC will not allow you to do it on your own because they want to make sure that they get their additional fees. It is one big scam! The comments on this site that are positive were obviously placed there by AM Resorts themselves. In reality, you pay your deposit, your monthly payments until your contract has been paid in full and then addtional fees just to book an actual vacation. When you add them all up, you have actually paid anywhere from $2500-$3000 for your actual vacation. That's what I paid cash for several months after we bought this plan just so I could have a place to stay in Paris last summer. Why did I not use my newly purchased vacation club you ask: It's because they lied to me in order to get me to sign the contract by stating that they had properties all over Europe and especially in Paris. Complete fabrication! They only list 5 total hotels in all of France and only 1 in Paris and it was just outside the city limits. Upon further investigation through one of the on-line travel sites, I found out the place was a complete dump and in a horrible part of town. Front office staff was not on duty most of the time and because of the neighborhood you had to use a keycard just to get into the hotel itself. The final straw was when I discovered that in order to catch the public transportation system you had to walk under a homeless bridge on a daily basis.
We were told that all accomadations that we would have access to, through the vacation club, would be just like the resort in Mexico we were staying in at the time. That is the biggest crock of bull I have ever been told, and yes, I was stupid enough to give some lying piece of garbage my hard earned money.
On a final note, I was told by RCI that if I wanted to travel to any top destination like Hawaii, San Francisco or New York, that I would have to make my request 2 years in advance. When I balked and told them that most vacationers don't plan that far ahead, I was told that you do with RCI if you plan on getting a decent place to stay within a popular city.
My point here is that I agree with MIJDM. We need to stick together and find someone that will file a class-action law suit on our behalf.
I have learned more than most people on these scams. You mention the Verification Officer, haha what a joke. the "VO's" job is to skim over the paperwork where the client cannot read everything. When the paperwork mentions "Usage is on space availability" they will chuckle and tell you "that means you can't call us on Thanksgiving and expect to stay at one of the resorts on Christmas". I made the VO and sales people eat their words, I got out of my contract and money back because of these lies. So Mr We have a Good Resort Company, email me and ets hash this out. But be aware I will copy and paste your lying words to this complaint thread. andykerr01@aol.com
Andy Kerr, From your profile info it looks like you also bought into Hilton Timeshare, Bluegreen Timeshare, Festiva, Westgate as well as others and managed to get out of those as well. Just curious as to why you would keep buying in and then getting out? Surely after one experience you wouldn't want to keep repeating the same mistake! Just curious..

My husband and I purchased a White Pearl membership in September 2014 at the Breathless in Punta Cana. We paid 50% down $5000 and are currenty making monthly payments that they charge a foreign fee for each monthly transaction on my credit card. We did use UVC for a trip back to the Dominican to the Now Larimar earlier this month, we thought we saved some money on the trip compared to what our friends paid thru Apple, but they bought the preferred seating on the plane; which we didn't have the option to get so I don't really know if we saved anything to be quite honest with you. When you book the vacation thru UVC, you call one company to book and reserve the resort itself and then you have to call another number to book the air. All went well leaving St. Louis - Lampert Airport, but the flight back was a different story. When we arrived at the Frontier counter we were informed that our checked baggage would cost us $60. When we asked why, they told us that they computer said we had to pay for checked baggage and it might be because we purchased discount air tickets. We told them we didn't pay that when we left St Louis and they just shrugged their shoulders. What are you going to do but pay it in order to get your bags and clothes home. When I got home I called Frontier and also went on their web site. It looks like UVC booked ecomony seats and they do charge for luggage, which I didn't know because we had always used Apple. I just assumed checked baggage was included in all charter flights. My bad! . My question is: If UVC and Apple are now affliated, why are we as UVC members not afforded the same kinds of seats as someone booking thru Apple and why are we not given better discounts. (Luggage fees thru Apple are included in the price of the air ticket) Especially when we pay all this money up front. I don't feel like I am getting a good deal when I think of the out of pocket money we paid and now what I am paying monthly. Apple quotes you the entire trip(resort and air) they don't itemize it for you. So how are you suppose to know if UVC is cheaper than Apple? Why can't the entire trip be booked thru one UVC phone number? Also, we haven't tried to use any of the free days because we are trying to get a full week to use at one time, . I hope it works as they explained. We are still not sure whether we were scammed or not. We haven't and probably won't use the RCI portion of the membership because we don't earn that much vacation time each year and can't afford 4 or 5 weekly vacations each year. We try to take 1 week vacation each year and are trying to now go every 6 months. I am still on the fence an confused. At the Now they wanted us to upgrade for another $20000. No way, not until I understand exactly what we got. I have read thru the contract but it is too deep. Just when I think I understand it, I discover I didn't understand at all. I also think all the different websites you have to visit are confusing. There is UnlimitedVacationClub.com and UVCLifestylesCollections.com. Still not completely sure how to use the websites. The website they showed us to use at the Now doesn't look anything like the website I get in to. I guess I need to have someone explain it further.
I signed up for unlimited vacation scam February 2015 at now sapphire resort over in Cancun. ($4000/4years). Tried canceling membership as soon as I got home and found out that all I got was 25% discount. During "presentation of 5 hours" I was told I can book now sapphire for $57/night, it actually never drops below $250/night as I found out later. Obviously I couldn't cancel anything without paying $2000.
I called chase and disputed $1000 charge I placed during presentation.
Blocked their Miami office (that was calling me every day) on my iPhone.
Last week I got a letter from chase that I won the dispute.
I will never stay at any resort in the future that employes scam artists.
God I wish I would have checked this page out before being roped into a 6 hr marathon of empty promises. Stayed at Dreams Huatulco, Feb 2015, will never return because of am resorts/Unlimited Vacations!
As it turned out the good news was that it was the first day, and one of the empty promises was two weeks in hawaii to be booked immediately. They delayed and delayed until a booking in the industrial part of Mauii with terrible reviews was offered. When I demanded my money back I received several timely delays, refusals to refund, legal threats, etc, and finally with arduous direct conversations all but $400.00 was recovered. Thank you MasterCard. Whew!
These folks are crooks! Run, don't walk, when approached (and you will be) by these professionally trained dishonest people (word I wanted to use was censored)
My niece gets married in Playa del Carmen in September. We'll stay at the wedding resort for three nights then finish with four nights at Zoetry Paraiso de la bonita. We have booked it using "8 premier" nights. This is a 2 for 1 resort as contract states. No surprise when booking and all seems in order. No hidden fee. Our friends that went with us to Secrets The Vine last January are looking forward to next January staying at Secrets playa Mujeres. We went there for an evening dinner and were impressed. We plan to use our VIP weeks for them as I believe they have an expiration date. The VIP week will cost them $1500. Our friends plan to pay us $200 additional. I am hopeful for a great experience and will update as before when I return.
I went to a presentation in Cancun about a year ago. It was at Secrets Riviera Maya. I was lied to about discounts and I feel "pressured" into signing a contract . Feeling buyers remorse I went back to this hotel two days later and tried to cancel this bogus contract. I was supossedly refunded my $5099 with an Am Ex credit slp by the mediator but the charge still appeared on my credit card for 10 days. I then filed a dispute with Am Ex and sent them all my documentation with names etc.. It was a done deal and the dispute department stood behind me 100% and the charge was removed. Stay away from VACATIONS UNLIMITED AM RESORTS! They are nothing more than scam artists!
After arriving at AVIS in Cancun we were harassed so badly by a guy there to visit this timeshare. The AVIS people said we had to talk to him to get our keys for our rental car. A half hour had gone by and we still hadn't received our keys after many assertive attempts. It was a total joke. I will NEVER visit that timeshare and I will tell everyone I know to never talk to them. We ended up giving the 20.00 the guy wanted for the "free lunch" that would have been provided just to shut him up and get out of there. Total scam. slippery business. hope they self destruct and dissolve soon. Now for AVIS...
This comment is not just to the am ex guy. We have been to secrets resorts 7 out of 9 years. Every vacation has been great. So we finally went to the presentation through my friends membership. 2400 us dollars total for my wife and myself to secrets Moroma. My friend Craig received 4 free nights for my purchase( that is how you make out). I bought in the spring. Silver for 30yrs. I just booked a vip week at (cost us 1500 for 2, on apple it was 3689 for 2 people) with secrets silver sands for the spring without a problem. Still a little worried about the contract if UVC goes out of business. For anyone out there who possibly thinks they could get something for nothing you are fools. It is going to take 4-6 vacations to break even then after that you start saving. Very smart business, if you ask me. They want to lock you into coming to am resorts and not competitors. They are not going to pay anyone to come to an am resorts time after time for free. My friend Craig and his wife have been using it for a few years. A few little issues but nothing to consider it being a scam. I do not know about your am ex situation. But I have cancelled things on my visa/master card in the past and sometimes it takes 7-10 business days. The preferred category clause in my contract, I have to pay extra for a preferred room but if we get the regular room we still have preferred privileges. They did a really good job going over the contract with us. It seems to me that people are nervous and afraid to seem confused. Do not feel stupid if you do not understand something, ask. It is a little confusing but show me a contract that isn't. It took us 5 hours to finalize everything. Yes it stinks but its over and we are happy. I think what people do not like about it, it is the same as buying a car. You are in there for hours and afterwards you still think you could of got a better deal (possibly could of). I felt that way. The cost is much more than a car so that is what gets everyone so frustrated. After crunching the numbers, if you go on one all inclusive every couple years then its not for you. We have been and plan on going 1-2 times a year and when we retire in about 15 years a lot more.
I've been a member of UVC club for one year and I've used the service for 3 vacations. I have had enjoyable experiences at the resorts that I've booked at so far and I have received the benefits that were promised. Basically, you pay for your vacations upfront and receive resort discounts on the back end. In addition, depending on what member level you purchase, you also receive free nights which can be redeemed at any of their all inclusive resorts. The free nights that we've received will cover most of what we have paid for our membership. You will receive at least a 25% discount on their resorts and sometimes more. A huge bonus is that VIP status gets you preferred check in and late check out when available as well. I traveled to Cozumel in 3/2015 for spring break and booked a garden view room. Early check in was not available and we waited 1.5 hours. In lieu of the wait, we were upgraded to an ocean front room for the duration of our stay. The only downside is that you don't get any discounts on air fare - you still have to book flights on your own. As long as you are diligent in looking for cheap flights, you can still save on the entire cost of the trip. I will agree that their sales pitch is pretty aggressive - its a long presentation and they give you a-lot of information up front. Like any other deal, you have to negotiate a good price. Make sure you read all the info in your contract two or three times. You can miss out on extra benefits if you don't know what's being offered. You have to travel 2-3 times per year in order for the benefits to pay for themselves. If you plan to use it once a year, don't bother - it wont make financial sense. It is overall a great vacation plan. Their resorts are very well maintained and you will experience first class service. I'm satisfied with my membership. Eventually I will upgrade to the next member level.
Well, lots of comments mostly negative. We too purchase our second time share. We have one through Interval International that works fine, but after listening to the sales pitch, this sounded great. We thought that we would be smart and buy at ground level, the Black Pearl. The resorts are fine. Then we went to Puerto Vallarta and we talked to another sales person there (as they approached us to buy), who informed us that "IF" we upgraded ours to SILVER the benefits would be much greater, and in fact showed us. After two days, and several sales people discussing the same things, such as preferred club, better times, etc. etc., the list was long, and also telling us that the Resort we stayed in, Dreams Puerto Vallarta was one of the best selling points for them(this is where we stay), we thought that since Dreams was older that the upgrade would give us better suites in the Preferred Club, so we upgraded. Now, keep in mind we deliberated this over two days and several sales people. It has been nothing but a lie, the upgrade gives us nothing more at all, in fact they have now even cancelled our VIP weeks, which they told us we could use anytime(they were making a note on file), sure the notes are there when we go down in person and discuss, but apparently once we leave, the notes magically disappear. To bring insult to injury, the most favorite and the reason we upgraded was the hotel, and now it has been sold. I know, before anyone goes on to say "These things happen", please be careful and keep in mind that this was THE ONLY REASON we upgraded, they had this resort for ever, and like the sales people told, their best sales pitch. I don't want to go on complaining about the actual other resorts, they are just fine, assuming we can ever get into the "Preferred Club", which by the way since 2012, has been never, always full. I would believe this if we did not go down at least 6-7 per year, and also when we go our friends go, and they purchased directly through a travel agents, guess what, they are always upgraded, we actually laugh about it, but it is sad, the reason they upgrade "Them" sales pitch again, the reason they do not upgrade us, we are already members. Very sad really. We have voiced our concerns to the company and guess what, nothing gets answered. So, our suggestion, DO NOT BUY INTO THE SALES PITCH, or just get Black Pearl good enough.
Here I am trying to book our vacation, as uvc promised a 1 week vacation with rci but did not informed us that there were so many restrictions! If anything we end up paying more than internet prices. Unfortunately we signed the papers in June it is now September. Deceived us during our trip and wasted 3 hours. I was skeptical and should have not let them lured us in. Is there anything we can do to get our money back!? Please inform us thank you
Stay away from them! Don't listen what they have to offer which is just air!
Well it's evident after reading this some of you have never had any business dealings when it come to
I'm a diamond member with UVC I was in the first group of people who bought a membership when they started this about six years ago. I will say I was skeptical at first but I didn't make an immediate decision being a businessman I simply told him put numbers on paper let me go back and look at it and crunch numbers and see how it works out with me doing the math, it was very evident that as another member stated this would pay for itself after a few trips approximately 10 with the package I received. I invested about $40, 000 but in return I got 63 premium nights or free nights I also received 42 vip nights along with RCI, Ice, the registry and the yachts program. We have used the ice program even though we are loyal cruisers on Royal Caribbean they actually saved us about $900 on a suite on the last cruise we just did they were actually cheaper than Royal Caribbean. So I would just suggest if you didn't read the information that was given to you or didn't understand it and didn't ask question that's shame on you but the other thing you need to realize is there's a reason you have pearl, silver, gold, gold plus, platinum and diamond and there's a reason they're priced at different price points if you buy a pearl membership you're not going to get the same benefits as a diamond or a platinum member it doesn't work that way again any other loyalty or reward club doesn't work that way why would this one be any different. I mean really you can't go to Ford dealership and buy new escort and drive off in a new Cadillac doesn't work that way. Anyway we been very happy and very pleased with what we bought and what we got for what we spent. We have also been very pleased with the additional services and benefits that came with it, like I said we saved $900 on a cruise using ice and our son and daughter-in-law went on the same cruise and were able to use the discount also on their room I found out at that time I could use the discount for up to eight rooms in any one booking. So sorry this isn't a complaint but I figure the company deserves opinions from all its members not just the unhappy ones.
The below, which is an email I just wrote to PROFECO (the Mexican's government's Office of Consumer Affairs, describes that the horrible experience I am having with Unlimited Vacation Club:
I am hoping that you can help me with a dispute that I am having with Unlimited Vacation Clubs. On November 29, 2015, I attended a very high pressure presentation at the Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort in Cancun, Mexico, aimed at selling me a membership in the Unlimited Vacation Club (UVC).
The sales representatives were friendly and very personable but I later realized, after doing some online research, that the facts that were presented to me were false. I had been concerned that I could not afford to stay at the resorts but the sales representative told me, after a series of complicated calculations, that with promotions it would cost $50.00 U.S. per night per person. Since that seemed affordable to me, I agreed to purchase a thirty year membership in the club for $8, 025.00 U.S. The membership offers an at least 25% discount for staying at the resorts.
After I agreed to purchase the membership, the sale representative encouraged me to move from my hotel into the resort for two days to try it out. I did so and inquired while I was there of other guests how much it cost. It was much more than I thought so I searched the internet and found numerous postings from others on Trip Advisor and other vacation club review websites that the UVC membership was a “scam”, that false representations were made during the sales presentation, and that attempts to cancel even during the five day “cooling off” period were met by refusals by UVC to refund monies already paid and threats to collect more. One person stated that he had worked for UVC and that their sales representatives were trained “to sell air”. He said misrepresentations were routinely made and that he left his job because he could not stand it. I also then checked the cost of the various resorts and realized that, even with a more than 25% discount, there was no way that a stay would cost only $50.00 U.S. per night.
After reading the above information, I immediately emailed UVC cancelling my membership on November 1, 2015, within five business days of my signing the contract. I followed the email with both a written cancellation by overnight Federal Express service and by registered mail to the address to which notices were to be given as set forth in the contract.
This morning, I received a call from Fernando, one of the sale representatives, stating that because I stayed at the Secrets Playa Mujeres resort for two days, if I cancelled my membership, I would have to pay half the membership fee or $4, 012.50 U.S. dollars for the two nights I stayed there. When Fernando made the offer to allow me to stay at the Secrets Playa Mujeres resort for 2 days to try it out, he did not inform me either that (1) it would affect my ability under Mexican law to cancel within the five business day period or (2) that I would be charged $4, 012.50 U.S. for the two nights.
I entered into the contract based on misrepresentations as to the benefits that I would receive from the plan and I accepted Fernando’s offer to try it out for two days in good faith. I was never told that, if I decided not to continue with the membership, I would be charged $4, 012.50 for the four nights. I realize now that the offer for the 2 night stay was totally a trick to take away my right to cancel within the five business days.
I have satisfactorily resolved the above dispute. Susan Tomita
This is a SCAM!
I tried to book a resort with the pre-paid nights I purchased and was not able to do it. Rooms were available if I wanted to pay in cash but were not available for the night I got with the contract.
It's enlightening and entertaining to read these posts once in a while. I've posted a few other comments/fears previously that you'll see if you scroll down. In September we attended a family destination wedding for 3 nights in Playa del Carmin. The resort was not at all the caliber we've come to enjoy with our UVC membership. We then finished the trip with 4 nights at Zoetry de la Bonita. WOW! After our purchase in July of 2014 we had alot of the same anxiety that other express. I am glad to report that each trip has been nothing short of amazing. Our friends who have traveled with us love the resorts as well. In January we will be using a VIP week for $1500 to Secrets Papayago in Costa Rica. Our friends are going thru the sharing program for $1700. They'll hear the presentation and we get a free night. Believe me if the experience is not good I'm willing to post it in my next update. So far all of our apprehension has been put to rest. While it is a substantial investment, I'm thankful to report what I've seen in the product has been worth it thus far.
Ok, just scrolled furter down and read a post from ScortchedEarth on Feb. 26, 2015. I'm honored he took the time to mention me 'wheat1' in his rant. I'm not sure who GarryM is. I can assure you my wife and I are real people with real jobs who must enjoy the same type of vacations as each of you who write. Otherwise why would we waste our time with this dialogue. I can relate to the concerns expressed by others and have had repeated conversations with the company regarding those concerns. Again, it appears I'm in the minority, but at least I can report they have been responsive.
We just got back from Puerto Vallarta after staying at the Villa Magna Condos from Nov.9th thru the 23rd, 2015. These Condos are on the same property as the Dreams Resort. While out and about walking thru the Dreams Resort we began talking with the concierge and were asked if we would be interested in attending a presentation by Unlimited Vacation Club by AM Resorts to see what they had to offer us by becoming a Member. He offered us a nice gift if we would attend and we reluctantly said okay, even though we’ve done this before from time to time with other club offers.
The next day we went for Breakfast with a Sales Rep and got asked a bunch of questions and then after getting to know us better we went back to their office and they began showing us all the Benefits a Member receives and what the cost would be. After many hours of negotiation and questions it all sounded good, and we decided to buy a white pearl package. We made a 50% Deposit, signed many pages of a Contract and left feeling good.
We went back to our Condo and after supper my wife did some searching on the internet about Vacation Club Unlimited by AM Resorts and found a lot of negative reviews ( not saying they were right or wrong ) and then I started doing the same and after a couple of hours of looking at reviews, we just did not have a good feeling ( for some reason) about our decision and I immediately emailed our contact at Unlimited Vacations Club and told him our situation, that we wanted to Cancel our Contract and the next morning he emailed me back and said to come back to their office and we can discuss.
After we arrived the next day they connected us back with our original sales rep and we explained our situation as to what we read on the internet and did not feel good about what we read and until we could do more homework on these reviews from the internet, we wanted to cancel our Contract.
He said okay he understood and did in NO way try to talk us out of our decision and told us to write out a letter, dating it and signing it, explaining that we wanted to cancel our agreement - applying our 5 day cancellation clause, which we did.
I requested a letter back from them stating that my Credit Card would be credited back after the cancellation process was completed, which he gave me, and he stated that it would take approx. 5 to 10 days for this cancellation to be completed?
Not much else we could do but wait, we left and I kept checking every day to see if my Credit Card was credited and in exactly 8 days later, my Credit Card was credited the full amount of my deposit.
I want to make it clear to everyone reading this, that we were in NO way pressured to buy from them, just told continually about the Benefits they offered by becoming a Member and they all were very understanding & respectful of our decision to Cancel.

Yes, I am all in with you on filing a complaint with the Attorney General's office. They scammed us as well. We belived them in all what they promised. What do we need to do? rizz656@comcast.net
Thank everyone for your comments, you did save me to sign with this people. I was ready to sing and lucky for me I got an email realizing that the WiFi was working, so I Google the company and read all this comments. I stopped everything and they told me to write a letter of cancelation, i asked why if a I did not sing nothing with them and the told me that I already had a membership ( I don't know hiw) I was so upset that a wrote the letter right away. After that without signing or any agreement about the super promotion they told me about the refound. I did not agree or sign and my credit card was alreqdy charged for 10k. I called my credit car company (capital one) and happily they were very helpful and cancel this transaction.
The las coment is not true, of course you did purchase the membership, UVC reps never ask for the credit card if the client is not agree, its not fair you lie this membership works if you know how tu use it,
Has anyone just not paid? I'm sure they would threaten you with fees and late payment reports but has anyone just not paid?
I'm wondering the same thing?
It is jan. 31st at 12:50 am. My wife and I signed the contract the 27th for a silver membership . We just got back yesterday Jan 30. After spending over 20k on something you hope is a good investment, as soon as we got home i figured I should do some research on the opinions of this club we just agreed to join. About 80-90% of all the reviews have been negative to neutral. Mostly negative. We had really high hopes for uvc but we are fairly conservative and work way too hard for our money to ignore the fact that most people seem to be unhappy with the pricey investment. Luckily the wire transfer has not gone through yet, probably due to the excellent security measures of my bank. I sent an email to cancel the contract to the rep at the resort we stayed at (Dreams Punta Cana), move some money around so they can't get to it if they try and plan on calling them tomorrow. I am curious to see if they try to scare me into staying with threats of collections even though it hasn't be 5 days yet. I don't have much to lose by cancelling the membership but if this is really a crap membership I have a lot to lose by staying with it. One thing common sense tells me is that they aren't going out of their way to sell this to us because it doesn't make them money. It seems to me that you really have to do your homework every time you plan a vacation to get the price match with 25% additional discount to make this thing work for you. It's alot of work that they are hoping most people won't do? Just a thought
My husband purchased a Silver membership while in Mexico on 2/8/2015 and boy are we sorry! As very well seasoned travelers and owners of other time shares; we were conned into their web of lies and deceit also. We only wish that we too had run into the Michigan couple who clued one "almost victim" in on the scam. Let me tell you, these guys are good and very well trained. With our membership we received 2 "free" 7-day cruises and $3, 000.00 in savings credits. So, in checking on taking one of our "free" cruises; we find that they are NOT free at all. No matter who we talk to at UVC; the story is the same. We can honestly book a cruise directly through a cruise company and STILL pay less than what our "free" cruise would cost INCLUDING using our "free" cruise certificate and our savings credits! Are we mad; yes! We're REALLY mad. These people are TOTAL SWINDLERS AND LIARS and are very good at what they do to innocent people. I only wish that we had access to a computer to check on reviews for this unethical company prior to getting lured into their lair. What was represented to us is not what it is at all. The resorts are beautiful, we stayed at Now Jade and loved it, but they are ruined by the dishonest scamming that goes along with the experience.
our discount website has great rates without having to pay Thousands of $ upfront to join Unlimited www.myhotelgenie.com free for the general public to use.
I purchased the membership during my stay at Secret Playa Majures in February. I singed up for their membership for two reasons. The experience at the resort is amazing and they offered me a great package. I too was very nervous after I paid the membership because even without all the free gifts, it is still a large amount of money. The first reaction I had was fearing this maybe a fraud. However, today, all my concerns are put to ease when I contacted the US customer division. Apart from the excellent custom service, I confirmed that the discounted rate I will be getting is very close to what the sale rep have answered me. I also checked the price against other trip agency. To my relief again, the price with the membership price is way cheaper than the travel agencies' ($140 @ Costa Rica Secret vs. 373 AND fees). This is the kind of saving I had expected when I signed up for the membership. I am taking my time to write this comment because I shared the many fears and worries expressed by other travelers. I believe some of us worried so much because it is a large amount of money we have paid down. Our rational self of course would want to make sure we made the right choice. Now, having gone through the research myself, I am a bit more at ease. Of course, I have NOT actually booked anything yet, so this review maybe updated in the future. However, at least for now, I do not believe this is a scam. To everyone who worried they have been ripped, I would suggest you to at least do some research yourself on the prices. This is a membership that would save you money if you travel frequently. Finally, for all are considering the membership and reading this post, I would highly suggested you do some calculations before purchase. This membership works if you do your math homework and get the right deal; Choosing the wrong deal will cost you money. that is for sure. Bargain, Bargain and Bargain. Should I accepted whatever the first offer they gave me, I would never get my money worth due to my life style. However, with some discussions with the reps, the current deal I have will save me lots travel money. The key is do your math and bargain for the deal that works for you. Wish you all happy traveling and happy saving $ =) [full disclosure: I neither work for any travel agencies at this moment or in the past nor am affiliate with UVC in any ways]
did you check apples to apples
