Worst travel booking service ever
I have traveled the world 7 x, 152 countries, use all sorts of booking agencies. Booked with CheapFareGuru.com, my goal - get from Halifax to Los Angeles. Booked the ticket, and when the details arrived it was going to an airport in Toronto Island - not Toronto International - and the connector was Toronto International - in the middle of winter. Somehow with luggage, carry on and personal belongings supposed to make it from the middle of Lake Ontario to Mississauga pretty much to catch the connecting flight. When we phoned, which took 8 customer support attempts, from dropped calls, to hang ups, they finally told us it was our fault we accepted. I didn't even know about the Toronto airport on an island and that we would get sent there. We asked for a possible Montreal connection - which is where the first leg was going - to Toronto International - no changes allowed. We asked if they could go from Halifax to Toronto International - no help at all. We had to book another flight for the next day from scratch - costing us 2x as much and losing the original flight. What company strands a passenger on an island with no connection to her next flight. Nobody with any ethics.

Overcharged for plane tickets, Service fee I was not informed about, Failure to provide services for flight changes which I paid for
I called this company on 06/29/22 to get the flight tickets to Costa Rica which had previously been quoted to me. They said that deal was no longer available. Looked up for a different deal, and came back with a cost of $1179.84 round trip. But, I would be flying two different airlines one way prices, which I didn't know at the time. I wasn't pleased with my first flight: 2 layovers of 5 hours each. Was told that was all that was available for the day. I finally relented, gave them my debit card #, electronically signed s paper authorizing the amount and was told I would receive my e-ticket within an hour or so. I worked that night but kept checking my email for the ticket. Nothing. I called the next day and was told it was arriving soon. Later that day, I saw a charge posted to my online bank account for $1099.85 from United Airlines, a $40 charge, and the $39.99 for trip change insurance. I was curious why United Airlines would be charging me directly, but let it go. I work A LOT & didn't have time to investigate at that time. I checked my bank account on July 1, saw my check had come in, and had about $990. I paid my bills online as usual. I checked my account on Sat, July 2, and saw another charge for $1099.85 from United Airlines. Immediately called the travel agency. They told me not to worry about it, it's just something some Banks do, that it will go away because they had already been paid and gave me the authorization #t for it. I called my bank and told them to drop it because of this fact, and was told this charge was a different one coming from United. I then noticed all the payment names had been changed to Eros tours. Never heard of it. Called Eros tours back, told them United had charged me, & was told "Yes, but they have already put in a reversal." I went to United website looking for a contact number, and happened upon a much better flight. I called Eros back, asked them to change it &: I would pay the cost difference of $171. They said they couldn't do it for less than $398. I was shocked. Why I asked? Their"system " is all he said. He then said if I didn't like it I had to go to the airlines itself. I then asked for a refund for the insurance I bought, and he hung up. I called United, got my flight changed, but they couldn't apply my credit already paid because that would have to be paid through the same method as the original. So now I'm out another $533 on my charge card. I asked why they had put in a charge for $1099.85 and they said they didn't. He led me to the receipt for my original ticket. When I added the amount Eros paid the airlines and what they charged me, it was a difference of $75.05! I said that's it, I'm not doing business with liars and thieves. I then bought out my other ticket. I called Eros and told them what I had discovered and I asked for a refund. He hung up on me. I then called my bank to dispute the payments and told them the 2nd charge of $1099.85 was fraudulent. Didn't matter. They kept this charge as processing for 5 business days, leaving me penniless, AND, returned my bill payments for "insufficient funds". The matter is in the bank's hands and I just wait and see. Needless to say, I'm changing banks too. They told me charging me twice was illegal, but wasn't willing to help me pursue it, and in fact, supposedly had disposed of the evidence. I'm hopeful I can take legal action because these people have been doing the same to many many people for far too long.
Desired outcome: I want EVERY SINGLE PENNY returned to me.
Poor customer service and reservation changes without customer consent!
On today, February 9, 2022, I called to obtain information on the insurance I purchased and information regarding the possibilities of cancelations and refunds. Once I was made aware of the policy regarding my reservation that it could not be refunded without a fee of $25 or $99 or credit of about $58 I decided to not have any changes made or cancelations. This complaint is not regarding your policy or procedures it’s the customer service agents representing your agency. The level of customer service and attentive to the consumer was not there it was if the Rep Henry was bulling me over the phone and causing great distress and anxiety. I could feel my blood pressure being elevated, because he would not listen to my concerns and hear what I was saying. Henry took it upon himself to cancel my reservation without my confirming me confirming and when ask not to change he keep telling me it’s changed, and I called to cancel it etc. When my call was to inquire on refunds and cancelations due to an event change. Whether or not I was traveling or using the ticket was not his business and I tried to express that, and the call was very heated and disturbing very combative and unnecessary.
After several minutes of the call going nowhere, I asked to speak to someone else and was told NO I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told NO, so the call continued until I demanded he not cancel my ticket as he stated it was done while placing me because that’s what I called to do. After being on hold several more times someone else got on the phone who was supposed to be supervisor not sure they never introduced themselves. This individual said they would keep the ticket active if I sent an email in writing saying the ticket is not refundable and not changeable. I was informed the prior rep’s name was Henry and I requested the person I spoke with go back and view the recorded conversation he said he would.
Why did I need to put in writing in an email stating THE TICKET IS NOT REFUNDABLE or THE TICKET IS NOT CHANGEABLE, or they were going to CANCEL my ticket. If that’s already the policy what kind of non-sense is this? Never in my life have I had such poor service with any airlines or 3rd party vendors! Even when informing them I was at work and my lunch break was over they continued to state I needed to send the email, or they would cancel my reservations.
In short, I’m not sure if I will even fly to Seattle, because the conference was proponed, and I didn’t want the ticket canceled because I can get the full refund if I don’t use it from my employer by filing a claim so that’s why I didn’t want any changes or partial flight credit etc. Which this has nothing to do with the ticket I PAID for and REQUESTED TO STAY ACTIVE AND NOT CANCELED during my phone call to only ask questions regarding the policy on refunds and cancelations.
I would also like to note I had to called back and speak with another rep Alex, who assisted me another time and during another call this week. I could hear the prior rep informing him of my previous call. I asked that my ticket not be canceled. After being asked again to send the email in writing saying the ticket is not refundable, I went ahead and sent it twice because I was told once again, they would cancel the ticket if I didn’t put something in writing to state that. I’m afraid to use this company again!
Desired outcome: Since I was unable to get a full refund or use the insurance I purchased as it was not covered so I was informed by CheapFareguru I'm keeping my ticket.
Charge of Involuntary ticket change
My wife booked an air plane flight from CheapFare Guru and United airlines cancelled that flight and suggested another flight. We had no choice but accepted the change, CheapFare Guru charged us $50 for the reissuing ticket fee due to the change made by United airlines. It was not her desire to change the flight, CheapFare Guru is a rip off agent to charge passengers ticket regardless who made the change. It wouldn't happen had we booked through United airlines directly.
Desired outcome: Return the unreasonable charge for ticket changed by United airlines.

Cancellation refund policy
I requested cancellation for three flight tickets on Air Canada 3 days prior to the first flight. No refund was offered for any portion of the tickets. I bought a ticket from USA to Kenya using Swissair on Sunday using Cheap Fare Guru travel agency. I waited for the e-ticket which the agency promised to send within an hour but instead I received an email asking me to authorize addition of $84.40. which I did and but was issued with an e ticket a few hours before departure. I tried checking in online but the airline could not recognize my e ticket number or booking number. I went to the airport and had to line up for a long time almost missing the flight. When I arrived in Kenya I realized that Cheap Fare Guru travel agency had charged my account twice and overdrawn my account. I informed them and they said they are refunding within 24 hours. By Tuesday night they had not refunded my $998 and the bank had charged $245 overdraft fee. Today is the end of the week and my account is negative. We called and Cheap Fare Guru agency for updates and they said they refunded the funds on Monday we check with the bank. We have checked with the bank all week and the bank tells us that the Cheap Fare Guru travel agency has not refunded.

I booked and paid for two Tickets in Premium Economy Class to Europe, turns out when it was time for me to select my seats they booked me in regular economy. I have been making calls and emailing with Sandy their supervisor who has promised me a partial refund. I do not accept that I have to pay 300.00 ticket to cancel what is not my fault... But, after many weeks I still have ZERO refunded to my CC and Sandy has stopped returning my contacts... 3, 400.00 rip off

You may lose your money when making a reservation from them. I know that many similar companies do the same way and then ask for more money.
Long story short: I booked tickets, got a confirmation email, thought that ok, nothing to worry about. But on the next day, I was notified that the prices got higher and I had to pay the difference or they will cancel my booking. They knew my credit card information, so they just simply charged me without my permission. What the hell is that? Maybe I will be the one who decides what to do with my money? Their customer care doesn't reply, nobody cares.
Please, never use them. They are real scammers.

This was the first time I had ever used this company. I made a reservation for tickets to Italy with them. The policy was a full refund if you cancelled in 24 hrs. or less. The airline was Iberia. After booking, I had some doubts about the airline and looked up reviews. “Awful” was not the word. It was one horror story after another. So, I cancelled my reservation (note, this was less than 2 hrs. after making it). They did not send me a confirmation of my cancellation. After badgering them, I received an email that said that they had cancelled it; it was worded strangely, with no credit amount indicated--nothing. I had also purchased the trip insurance they offered with the ticket, and made sure that it was refundable within 24 hrs. as well. They made no mention of this in the email. I had to send FOUR emails before they responded with an email stating that BOTH the amount for the tickets and insurance would be refunded. Thank goodness I pushed; when I got my VISA bill, the insurance amount had not been credited. They would not answer my emails, so I disputed the charge. The VISA company was even having problems until I sent them the email that stated both would be refunded. The refund was then issued. I now understand why they were so cagey about putting anything in writing stating the amount to be refunded, as every other company does...usually an email confirmation of your cancellation is sent with the amount to be refunded. VISA said without that email that I had insisted on getting from them I would have never won the dispute, due to that the way they set up their policy--purposely not straightforward. This site is fraudulent in my opinion--use it at your own risk.
I am the writer of the comment. The response from Cheapfare guru is not accurate; I have the multiple emails back and forth which prove that they would not say that both the tickets and the insurance would be refunded until I insisted. I also have the documentation from Chase bank on the dispute that shows that what I wrote was accurate. There is a recorded conversation with the Chase representative who asked if I had written confirmation that said Cheapfare guru would refund the travel insurance, which I did because I suspected they were not being honest and had insisted that they put it in writing. I was contacted by Chase subsequent to the submission of those emails to say that the dispute was now resolved and that my travel insurance refund would then be issued. I would be happy to provide any of this documentation to Cheapfare guru or anyone that wants to see it. I would trust the records of Chase bank over Cheapfare guru any day. Look at the other reviews on this company- I am not the only one that has had issues with refunds.

We missed our flight due to weather conditions. We called to cancel flight 2 hours before flight departed. They said there was nothing the could do. They would not reschedule or reimburse us for the tickets. It was a round trip ticket Seattle to Bangkok. We booked a one way flight the next day with a different agency. On our return we learned that CheapFareGuru canceled our return tickets also when we showed up at Bangkok Airport on the day we were to leave. No Email was sent to us, nothing. We got ripped off for a lot of money plus the extra thousands of dollars we spent on last minute tickets. Why are these crooks allowed to stay in business. My only alternative is to take them to small claims court I guess.

I purchased air ticket for two passengers in the amount of $1, 945.92 for the flight schedule for 12/14/2016 from new york to lagos, nigeria. Klm dishonored the ticket issued by cheapfareguru because the money paid was reimbursed to cheapfareguru. All efforts to get cheapfareguru to find alternative flight failed. Several telephone calls to the did not result in getting klm to honor the the tickets because they insisted cheapfareguru had to pay the current fare which at that point was too high because of christmas rush. We had to return home and started calling cheapfareguru the following day. We started looking for another ticket after it appeared cheapfarguru had collected our money without producing valid ticket. To look for alternative ticket became imperative having arranged for the trip to attend a daughter's wedding. We departed on 12/16/2016. Wa came back from the trip but has so far not been able to get reimbursed for the original ticket and the extra expenses to enable us travel. The alternative ticket cost us $4, 630. I am looking for reimbursement of the extra money paid to trave since the original ticket was purchased on 6/20/2016 to avoid the christmas rush that their breach of contract and his honesty made me to pay.

Travel date 12/25/16 & 1/10/17. Booking id # 5ifdqy this company failed to send my booking to british airways for an international flight. My flight was changed according to them by the airline but they did not notify me of the change until I went online to check in at the airport and it did not show all my flights.

If you read the complaint properly you would see that it is against the booking agency Cheapfareguru. I have the upmost respect for British Airways.

I purchased 2 adult round chip air tickets going from Philadelphia to Perth $1766.00 per ticket on 6/13/2016 and the traveling day is 7/10/2016 returning 8/14/2016.Tonight 6/23/2016 I called to the customer support to ask for the cost of cancellation fee, they put me on hold for like 20 minutes and finally told me it would me $650.00 per ticket. I asked Ron Kumar ( customer support ) how you came up with this figure, on your contract it ranges from $200.00 to $450.00, then he answered me "that's the way it is"
I can't imagine we live in such a civilized society and yet we continue to allow these people to get away with an unfair business practices .

Purchased a ticket via CheapFareGuru and later they cancelled my flight and said that they couldn't confirm my card! But they actually took my money and they still owe me. They keep telling me that it was not their fault and that they never took my money, but I already contacted my bank and they confirmed that CheapFareGuru did receive the payment! No matter what do not deal with this company!

Bought airline tickets in january 2016 from slc to ams and due to a medical emergency was not able to fly on departure date.. Cancelled a day ahead (after 2 hrs on hold with cheapfareguru) finally was able to cancel flight and receive a confirmation email stating that i had re-issue credit with the airline and would have to re-book directly with them. Have now called delta/klm directly and they told me i can only re-book with cheap fare guru's re-issue desk since delta/klm does not have access to the "bulk" ticket pricing the tickets were issued under. I have now spent hours and hours listening to "your call is very important to us, please don't hang up ..." have also emailed them asking them to call me but to no avail-- so it would seem that since delta can't re-book directly as guru says and guru won't answer or respond, i appear to be out of luck! BEWARE of cheap fare guru

Sorry to say that this company, cheapfareguru, is totally fraudulent and grossly mismanaged. My wife got sick after reserving the ticket and we got a physician's letter as well. I wanted to cancel my flight arrangement but for the last 10 hr, no body comes on line. Next day, a guy picked up but when he learnt that I want to cancel my ticket, he just ran away and put me in stupid music.
Is there any place where some actions can be taken. My airline United Airline suggested me to write to unitedairline.com/feedback. I'm going to suggest them to disassociate themselves from this scam.

They are a fraud, do not give them any Personal information. I have given them all my credit card information. They charged the fare, they charged the dummy charge, for a brife moment my ticket was confirmed, but a day later airline canceled my ticket. This was a nightmare to book air tickets from the company. I selected a round trip from Phoenix to Paris from website and booked the flight for a family of four with all personal infomation as well as credit card info. After done the booking, I got emails from the company, saying that in order to complete the credit card transaction, I need to send them an email with a sample statement from them, stating that I will never argue or dispute with them about the payment. The problem is that I even did not get a detailed iternity regarding the trip and they already asked to release the payment. So, they sent me an iternity. Surprisingly, the iternity is completely not what I selected originally. They just gave a completely different iternity to me and asked me to approve the payment! After seeing this, I immediately called my credit card to cancel the payment. Fortunately, I stopped this fraudulent charge at last minute. So, I will never do any business with this company and will never recommend this company to any innocent customers like me. Learn my lesson and never do business with this company!
Wish I had read these reviews first. what an ordeal. could never get through to customer help line on their chat now. could not get through on phone by pushing #2 for current reservation. I would hold on for an hour and then they would hang up. that happened 4 times. next time I hit #1 for new reservation and they answered in 2 minutes. told me they cancelled my reservation and were keeping $50.00 service fee. they said they nev er spoke with me to make confirmation. I did indeed speak with agent who called at 7 a.m. and told me they had a problem that my address was not my address. I said it was. I have lived here 18 years. They said no. wrong address and then cancelled me and charged me 50.00 plus I wont get remainder of money back for 2 to 3 billing cycles. I am outraged. how do they get away with this. I should have booked stright through Frontier airlines. other people who wrote reviews are correct. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
