Our flight #1973 was schedule to depart on December 24, 2022. Leaving out of JAX Airport at 9:08am, boarding was schedule to begin at 8:30am, but was delayed for 30 minutes, because of a mechanical issue with the plane. We were able to broad around 10:00am, were to push away from the gate and the pilot made an announcement that the plane still had the same mechanical issue, and everybody would have to get off the plane again. By now, everyone who had a connection in Charlotte, NC, was going to miss their connection. So we had to rebook our flight, the agent who rebooked our flight, told us that we had to split up, my caregiver told her that I could not fly along because of my condition, I have issues with my legs, heart problems, and can only walk 5ft, because of COPD, my caregiver reminded her of my condition a second time, and she told us that if we wanted to get to Las Vegas, that day then we would have to separate, she promised my caregiver that I would be treated like a queen, well that wasn't the case. When we arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina, the young man who brought the wheelchair for me, had to actually run in order that I wouldn't miss my connecting flight which was 2896, to phoenix AZ, my seat #was 16E, which was still too far for me to walk to the bathroom, I had plan to go in between flights but due to the timing, I was unable too. My caregiver, had asked the agent were there any seats on flight 2896 and the agent said no, she lied because there were empty seats on that flight. My caregiver could have been on that flight with me. Her flight went directly to Las Vegas from Charlotte North Carolina to Las Vegas, and they send me the handicap person in a wheelchair, to Phoenix AZ, where I had to change flight continue to Las Vegas, When the plane arrived in Phoenix I had to wait 20 minutes for the wheelchair, when the young man finally came and got me, I told him that I really had to go to the bathroom, and he said ok, he pushed me into the waiting area and left me sitting there for 25 minutes, I was asking a fellow traveler to help me. When the young man popped back up, he took me to the bathroom, and just in time, now I left home at 700 am and now it's 530 pm and this was the first time I have been to the bathroom all day this was very painful. This could have turned out really bad, I could have urinated on my self, and that would have been a very embarrassing situation. My flight # was 2800 boarding at gate A14 the young man took me to the gate and asked did I need someone to do a wellness check on me, and then he left me sitting in the middle of the waiting area out in the middle of the isle and I had to ask someone to push me to the side out of way. By now I am feeling like I do need a wellness check, I was so upset! Now the next thing really upset me, remember the agent in Florida was told that I couldn't walk more than 5 ft, so why would you give me seat 33-C it was very difficult walking to my seat I was out of breath and felt like I was going to pass out any minute. Getting off was a nightmare, I stood in isle for 30 minutes waiting to get off the plane, by the time I got to the front of the plane I was so tired and could hardly breathe, I thought I was going to pass out, I had to sit down. No one should be treated this way. To top it off we had two suitcases and both had my name on them, one suitcase was in baggage and the other one was still in Charlotte, North Carolina, why would they take one suitcase off when both had the same name on it. The suitcase arrived on Sunday, December 25, it was supposed to be delivered that day but we had to go pickup the suitcase on Monday night our selves. I am 73 years old and this is the worst trip I have ever been on. And this is the 2nd complaint I have submitted, the first one was on January 13, 2023
Desired outcome: I would like a refund for me and my Caregiver of $871.00 each and I would like a $1000.00 for pain and suffering I would like to be paid by check, sent to my address, Geneva Williams 4642 Old Court Road Pikesville Maryland 21208
Persons on plane not following flight attendants instructions.
Unfair and unequal treatment. I was on a flight from Phoenix, Arizona yesterday 01/22/23 and witnessed two situations involving Caucasian individuals. The first was a Caucasian woman who was standing in the aisle waiting to use the lavatory when the announcement was made to return to seats and put seat belts on because of turbulence, the women continued to stand there and all the flight attendant said to her was that you are standing at your own risk. Had that been a person of color it more than likely would have been a very different outcome. The second incident we were coming in for landing at EWR a Caucasian white man got up and went to the bathroom. She made an announcement for him to return to his seat he did not. The flight attendant who was sitting in the jump seat near emergency door called her co-worker to ask what to do and was told to wait to see how long he would be in there. Again, had this been a person of color they surely would have been met by police once we landed. American Airlines we see what you are doing your treatment is unequal and not fair. Will only fly on American if it is the absolutely only choice. Prefer Jetblue.
We flew AA to Hawaii in May 2023. It was wonderful. No Delays. The staff was great and the flight was excellent. They were kind and kept checking to see if we needed anything. Our luggage was not damaged or lost. We enjoyed the lounges while waiting for our flights. Thank you for making our trip relaxing and enjoyable.

Our flight #1973 was schedule for December 24, 2022. Leaving out JAX at 9:08am, boarding was to start at 8:30am but was delayed for about 30 minutes, because of a mechanical issue with the plane, we were able to broad around 10:00am, were pushed away from the gate and the pilot made an announcement that we still had the same mechanical issue, and everyone had to get off the plane again. By now everyone who had a connection in Charlotte North Carolina was going to miss their connection, so we had to re-book our flight, The agent that waited on us to rebook the flight, told us that we had to split up, my sister, my caregiver told her that I could not fly along, due to the fact that I could only walk about 5ft on my own. My caregiver told her again that I could not fly along.
The agent then told us that if we wanted to get to Las Vegas that day then we had to be spilled up, she promised that I would be treated like a queen, well that wasn't the case at all. When we arrived in Charlotte North Carolina, the young who pushed my wheelchair actually had to run in order for me to catch my connecting flight which was 2896, to Phoenix AZ, my seat was 16 E, which was not too bad, but still too far for me to walk to the restroom, which I had plan to do Between flights but could not due to the other plane was waiting to take off. Flight 2896 had available seating so I do not understand why my sister could not have been placed on this flight with me, Her flight that she was on went directly to Las Vegas from Charlotte yet they put me who's in a wheelchair on a flight to Phoenix, and still had to catch another flight to get where I was going. When the plane arrived in Phoenix, I actually had to wait 20 minutes for a wheelchair, and I told the young man who came with the wheelchair, that I had to go to the bathroom really bad, well he pushed me to the waiting area and left me there for 25 minutes I was asking a fellow traveler whom I didn't know to help me, when he popped back up, he took me to the restroom, just in the nix of time, that could have been a very embarrassing situation. My flight was 2800, brooding at gate A14, well the young man took me to the gate set me in the middle of the waiting area and ask me did I need someone to do a wellness check on me. Which I didn't but I was upset with the treatment I was receiving. Why would anybody give a handicap person seat 33-C if that person can only walk 5 ft remember now the agent who rebooked the flights, was told this, so why, it was very difficult for getting to my seat, and getting off was a nightmare. We had two bags and both were in my name, when we arrived in Las Vegas only one bag arrived, the other one was still in Charlotte, which arrived on Sunday December the 25th we had to pick up our bags from the Airport, on Monday evening 12-26-02 which was supposed to be delivered by American Airlines, this is the worst trip I have ever been on and I am 73 years old
Desired outcome: I think we should get a full refund for our tickets, for the discomfortI suffered on this trip.
Service
On January 2nd, 2023 I was booked on Flt 1031 from Los Angeles, Ca to Miami, Fla with a connection on Flt. 907 to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Flt 1031 was scheduled to depart Los Angeles at 10:28am. Flight was delayed due to a problem with air traffic control in Miami. We departed at 11:35am. On arrival in Miami I rushed over to Terminal D with 9 minutes to spare and boarded the Buenos Aires flight but was informed after a period of time that we couldn’t take off due to a toilet door not closing and some pressurization issues. A number of mechanics were brought on board and at 10:30pm, AFTER 3 HOURS, we were asked to deplane and wait in the gate area until they towed another plane over. I was then told they were looking for another plane and that we would depart at 11:30pm. This departure time was then pushed to 12:20am. At 12:30am, after boarding the pilot and crew, they announced that the pilot had “timed out”. (Shouldn’t they have known that BEFORE they boarded him). Finally, at 1:30am we were given a hotel voucher and told to be back at the airport at 6am for a 9am departure.
During the night I received numerous texts stating that the departure time had been changed to 10am. When I arrived at the airport we were told that no-one was available to turn on the power to enable the plane’s air conditioning to function. So instead of departing at 9am, as we were told the night before, we boarded at 10:30am.
I eventually arrived Buenos Aires 19+ hours behind schedule, and was told my luggage had been sent on another plane. That added another hour of waiting in line.
As a result of the delayed arrival I missed conducting an important meeting for my company, which cost me $5000. This also put a lot of people at considerable inconvenience.
In all my years of flying all over the world on numerous airlines I have never experienced such a nightmare on any airline. I am expecting a sizeable compensation.

Being over charged for a flight.
I called American airlines and scheduled a flight from El Paso to Fresno. The
call taker made the reservation for me, however the day before the flight I was not receiving the normal emails I usually receive before my flights. I checked online and found that the call taker did not reserve my flight when requested
on day of phone call days earlier. I then needed to call and request a new flight
which changed times and changed cost of flight for over $100.00 dollars. I am a frequent flyer with AA and complete upset that I was charged over $100.00 dollars for a mistake the call taker failed to book my flight and I had to book a new flight for over $100.00 dollars more!
Desired outcome: Refund of the $100.00 dollars more I was charged for call takers error.
Damaged luggage
I went on vacation with new luggage and before I reached my connecting flight, noticed one of my handles on the suite cases was broken, when I received my second piece of luggage it was also broken, the bumpers were no longer on the bottom, causing the luggage not to stand properly. I filled out the proper form on line from the information given to me by an American Staff Member.
I was declined reimbursement and then requested a supervisor who again denied my claim I then wrote a third time and mailed it on Nov 1 and have not heard from anyone. It has been over 30 days and I have no luggage or reimbursement. I am so very disappointed in AA. I was mislead when I was given the information from the airline I had explained to him my luggage was damaged in transit, where do I write a letter he handed me a postcard form and told me to fill out the form on line, I was unable to attach the photos, but I mailed them US Postal. Right now I have no luggage or call back from any one. I am not satisfied with how things are being handled.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement for damaged luggage, receipts were attached and photos of damaged luggage
disallowed flight credits for my my wife and I

Bertha Villamor 8t3yj98
We had credits for around $1100.00 apiece. When I called reservations i was first told that because i had to cancel for a second time the credit was cancelled. When i spoke to a supervisor, she said it was because to credit was expired. I was never told either of those things when i decided to take the credit instead of the refund. The original tickets were for first class round trip to LA. We are in our mid 70's and cancelled because the cruise we were going on was canceled for covid protocols. I cannot see why loyal customers would be treated this way. We have never used another airline in the last ten years.
Sincerely,
Donald Ray

I want to start my complaint and refund request by stating we purchased our American Airline tickets March 31, 2022. Although the tickets were less money in March then when we traveled, we paid more money in March to book the one offered nonstop flight. As our travel date got close, American Airlines changed our flights several times and the final change had a very short layover in Charolette (going) and Dallas Fort Worth coming home. At that point, I called customer service to question our options because I did not feel a 50 or 55 minute connection time was enough. The customer service rep I spoke to told me that there was nothing that could be done. She further stated that people make the connections all the time. I advised the rep that we were (3) females in our 60’s and my one sister had mobility issues. The rep stated that she would have some type of transportation at our arrival gate to get us to our connection. The rep told me we had no other options and never offered me a refund.
On November 3, 2022, our flights to Phoenix (connecting in Charolette) went off without a hitch. There was no assistance waiting for my sister at the arrival gate but we got to our connection at the start of the boarding process.
Fast forward to November 11, 2022. As we were waiting for our Phoenix flight (407) to DFW, the monitor notified us of a flight delay. We also received an email and a text that our DFW flight to Pittsburgh was also delayed until 7:10pm. Our Phoenix flight originally was to depart at 2:30pm but our connection arrived and we were all boarded with the doors closed at 3:05 pm. The pilot announced an hour and 48-minute flight time. Still manageable to make our 7:10 flight.
We left the gate and stopped and sat on the tarmac. The pilot eventually came on the intercom and apologized saying that “SOMEBODY inadvertently had forgotten to send in “our numbers” so that we could take off. We sat on the tarmac for 25 minutes and by the time we took off an additional 35 minutes had gone by while we waited for the mistake to be corrected.
We arrived at the very last gate in the C concourse C39. It took 10 or 15 minutes to get off the plane. Unbeknownst to us, there were at least 13 other people on flight 407 that were going on to Pittsburgh. We moved like a herd down concourse C, onto the tram and arrived at gate D4 at 6:55pm to discover that the flight had already departed.
We all went to the customer service desk located in concourse D. We waited an hour in line and when we got to the desk the rep told us American Airlines was not going to do anything to help us because we missed our flight because of weather. I told the woman that we missed our flight because “SOMEBODY” neglected to do their job in Phoenix leaving us stranded on the tarmac for 35 minutes. The rep then stated that was an air traffic control issue and we were out of luck. The rep then advised us that American Airlines had no flight to Pittsburgh for us until Sunday November 13. Two days. All the other people who missed the Pittsburgh flight were listening and started telling the rep that a 2-day delay was not acceptable. No hotel, no transportation and no food vouchers. The rep never attempted to assist us. She said a supervisor was not available and was unwilling to make any attempt to confirm the reason for our delay that we were all telling her occurred.
I called American’s customer service number. The rep booked us on the Sunday flight at 8:47a to Pittsburgh seats 22B, 23B, 23C. I was told I would receive an emailed confirmation but never did receive one.
By this time, it was after 9:00pm. My sisters and I got online and found a flight to Pittsburgh on Southwest airlines the next day out of Dalles Love Field. We went to baggage claim and inquired about our checked luggage. The woman told us it would take at least 6 hours to find our luggage. We left the airport without our luggage and took an uber to a hotel where we slept in the clothes we traveled in all day.
The next morning (11/12) we took another uber to Dallas Love Field to catch the Southwest flight. While we were waiting, I received a telephone call at 8:15am from [protected]. A woman identified herself as an American Airlines employee. She said she had (3) seats for us on the 8:47am flight and inquired if were we coming for the seats. I told the woman that the rep the night before said there were no flights for us on American Airlines until Sunday and we had purchased a flight with Southwest Airlines.
By this time, I was extremely frustrated. I called American customer service. I explained the whole situation to the rep. Why would this woman call and offer me a flight that she knew we had not checked in for? The night before they knew we were on the ground and left at least 15 of us stranded prior to the 7:10pm delay time that they sent to us? Our delay in Phoenix was caused by a mistake made by an American employee. Nobody would inquire.
I told the rep we were out $438.00 for the Southwest flight, $50.00 in (2) Uber trips, and $97.45 for a hotel room. Not to mention food. American airlines plays a tape at the beginning of their flights thanking everybody for choosing American Airlines for their travel. I asked the rep what could be done to keep us as loyal customers? The rep told me he was canceling the Sunday flight and putting us in for a refund of our original ticket price of $449 and some change. He explained to me how to file for the refund online when I got home.
When I went online to file for the refund the page showed us requesting a $449 refund. The narrative box would only hold 200 characters. Nowhere near enough room to document what had occurred. I requested somebody call me and have yet to hear from anybody (9 days). I was issued a $170.31 refund. My sister Roberta Marburger was also given a $170.31 refund. My sister Rebecca Schellhaas was given a $114.63 refund and then a $30.00 bag fee refund. What the heck! We all paid the same price for our original tickets and (2) of us checked bags.
We are all angry. We understand that mistakes happen. Somebody in Phoenix dropped the ball. The chain of incidents that occurred afterwards were not our fault. The customer service rep in Dallas was useless and did not show any empathy for our situation. In reality she actually called us liars. The inability to talk to anybody by phone in the customer refund department to explain our situation is unacceptable. The ability to talk to any type of an American Airlines supervisor is nonexistent. The scheduling of flights with short layovers and over booked flights only compounds travel issues.
This whole travel incident has left us with a very bitter opinion of American Airlines. We feel we should be entitled to a full refund to compensate for some of our additional out of pocket expenses. I am asking that American Airlines treat us as you would want one of your family members treated and refund us our full original ticket price.
Thank you for your attention.

Gate changes/ planes leaving early
First flight left 5 minutes early 2nd plane changed gate locations to opposite side of airport… no text or no anoucement ran the airport and got there as door closed and the anti-American employees wouldn’t let me on and smerked at me when I said my dogs will be unattended all night…. The employees are not nice people if they worked for me they all would be unemployed….2 flights they screwed me out of and know I have $159 hotel extr $24 for parking and dog’s unattended…
Desired outcome: Reimbursed hotel and parking and proper customer service training
Flights and baggage
I have issues with the delays which have caused me to miss connecting flights and lose my reserved rental cars. I also had a issue with a recent flight where the flight attendant did not even offer me a snack or drink but did to the passenger sitting right next to me. Also, I arrived to my final destination and my bags didn't make the flight and my baggage didn't arrive until the next day causing me to submit my reports after the required timelines.
Desired outcome: Miles and monetary outcome
That this scammer caught
I recently applied for American Airlines and “got hired on.” However after giving them all my information to be hired. They demanded I send them my bank name and my full name, so after doing so they refused my bank and asked me to use a family members account because they were sending a check for the equipment I was to buy. After this it got confusing so I asked the guy if we could set up a call for more understanding to ensure this wasn’t fraudulent and even called him and it went straight to voicemail. This is hands down fraudulent, his name was Jim Oebker, beware. I don’t believe this is actually American Airlines but a scamming company. The number he has used is [protected]. They do ask for your drivers license and act very professional but the catch is, they won’t talk to you on the phone, spelling errors, and they expect you to figure out what equipment to use for they’re company.
Ground service
The rude woman at the front desk got mad at me because I asked to check in some of my luggage early and I did not know that was against the rules. Because I insisted, she got mad and canceled my flight without telling me. So when I go to check in with all of my family, I get the run around, I get ignored, and they had me all through the airport trying to get to this flight that I was never going to get on. Then they tell me that I missedthe flight because I arrived late. I learn later that I was not late, because my flight actually got delayed and I was actually early. But they did not tell me that because I was no longer on that flight (since she had cancelled me off that flight). So they make me think it's my fault that I missed my flight and in reality I miss the fight because she changed my flight. I sat and cried out of anger and humiliation and they did not care. That was their way of reprimanding me and I was never informed of what really happened. Inhumane treatment of fellow human beings.
Desired outcome: An apology and money reimbursement for the stress I went through
Resolution to my claim and compensation in the amount of items lost with her baggage in the amount of $2100
Sent my daughter to seattle washington on august 14th 2022 from manhattan ks, her baggage was misplaced after the flight arrived and lost a total of 3 time while we tried to recover it I filled a lost baggage claim 2 months ago with only the computer generated responses every thing she owned was in her luggage including $800 in clothing and shoes and ipad, laptop, jewelry make up. They told me initially 15 days after I made the lost baggage claim its been over 45 days and i've already had to replace her clothing out of my own pocket,
Capitan putting plane at risk
A stewardess comes from the back of the plane. Pulls out a beverage cart and blocks off the aisle. The co-captain goes into the forward restroom and a male steward enters the cockpit and closes the door. The co-captain comes out of the RR and waits by the cart with the stewardess until the steward comes out. I do not know what was going on in the cockpit at that time. They may have been playing chess.

flight to Anguilla
On Wednesday, 6/15/22 I was booked on American Airlines flight #2283 leaving LAX at 9:38 pm and arriving in Miami 6/16/22 and then on to Anguilla, flight #3503, leaving Miami at 10:31 arriving at 1:59pm.
I read the airline and Anguilla tourist information and received a COVID-19 Rapid test which stated the results were negative. When I presented my passport, vaccine records, and COVID report at the check- in counter I was told by the American Airlines ticket person and their supervisor that I was not eligible to fly. I asked if I could retake the test in Miami during my 4 ½ hour layover or in Anguilla and I was told that I could not board. My only option was to rebook. I was able to fly out on Friday night, 6/17 and arrive in Anguilla on June 18th. I flew with two others in my party and this whole situation caused a great deal of distress. As a result, I missed 2 days of my vacation.
When I arrived in Anguilla and had a chance to reconnect with my party, I was told that a couple that flew with them on both legs of the trip from LAX to Anguilla were allowed on the plane at LAX WITHOUT ANY COVID TEST JUST THEIR VACCINE CARDS. They were tested upon entry into Anguilla and allowed into the country. While I was upset that my vacation was shortened due to this issue, I am irate that American Airlines has an inconsistent application of their COVID policy.
This vacation was a reunion and there were activities that were paid in advance and additional expenses that I incurred due to this error. The following is a summary of those expenses which I feel should in some way be reimbursed by American Airlines.
Taxi on 6/15 from LAX back to car $156
6/16 Sunset cruise in Anguilla (unable to reschedule) $229
2nd covid test on 6/16 $60
6/17 Sailing adventure to Anguilla [censored]ly Pear Cays $399 (unable to reschedule)
6/18 Kayaking trip at Crocus Bay $160 (unable to reschedule)
6/18 taxi to LAX $156
6/16, 6/17 - 2 nights shared accommodation $1,000
Total financial impact of American’s error $2,160
Desired outcome: I would like some kind of compensation. I would like a voucher if not for the full amount at least $500 to compensate for the ruined family reunion.
