Denture repair service
On Thursday October 13th My Husbands Upper Denture Broke in two Pieces. We went up town to Our Local Shallotte NC Aspen Dental Office Because their web site said the had a lab and did Denture repairs, they informed us that we would have to go to the North Myrtle Beach SC Office Because they do not have a lab for repairs. So we left and decided we better...
Read full review of Aspen Dental and 1 commentMy dentures still don't fit correctly
I came to Aspen dental with a full upper denture and a partial lower denture. On 9/25/15, I purchased the "Classic" set of dentures. I paid $2523.20 which included: 8 extractions/lower immediate classic denture and Hard Reline, upper classic replacement denture. I went in weekly for adjustments. Finally, after 17 months of trying to fit me, I tried to file a case with the BBB. However, the BBB said that I had one year to file. By this time, I'm just fed up with AspenDental. I had surgery on 11/8/16 for a total colectomy. This means that I have no large intestine. My waste comes out through the small intestine into a bag on my abdomen. This is called an Ileostomy. The most important thing living with a bag is to chew, chew and chew foods to prevent blockages and to increase absorption of nutrients. My diet is very limited but I can't chew much of anything without food getting under my denture. It feels like chewing pebbles. On 7/12/17, I agreed to upgrade to "Comfylyte" dentures, which costs an additional $840. Now I'm hopeful that I'll be able to chew and eat more. With my adjustment requests, Apen started to deny me. I was told by the office manager, Chris, that an alignment wouldn't help me. You know your company's statement,"We're Not Happy Unless You Are." I've never been satisfied with Aspen Dental. Patients need to be treated with compassion and respect. As for me, I need to be able to chew foods. Is that really too much to ask?
Desired outcome: I would like implants, then my dentures won't be moving in my mouth. I will not go back to the Jackson, Mi store.
Dental implant charges
I deal with some form of pain very time I go here. They are very rough on my mouth and I have had two failed root canal procedures in which instruments were left in the canal of my tooth. Both of them took a very long time to attempt but were incomplete. I was advised to have the tooth pulled because they were not comfortable with the long term prognosis of...

I have been trying for weeks to schedule a simple appointment for a new upper denture. My first visit was okay but the office manager refused the explanation of benefits from my Dental insurance company. She spoke with them but still required something in writing. Nothing else was done until I contacted my insurance company. They faxed the pre authorization yet I've still had to call the office manager over and over to get this resolved. As of today she has yet to contact me.
Needless to say I will find another dentist.
Complaint letter re: crown installation
Hi,
Today, November 24, 2022, will be my fourth appointment for having a crown (the same one) installed for the fourth time. Two weeks ago the crown that was installed fell off in my mouth that same evening. That one didn't even hold for 24 hours. If you look in my records, you will see that each time that the crown has been re-ordered/re-made it has been a two- or three-week time between the appointment for me to return to have it installed. Each of those times I've had to eat limited foods, eat on one side, chew in a special way and endure pain because of my tooth/area being sensitive.
The appointment I had two weeks ago I was even given Fixodent and told "use this just in case it comes off again, you can use this to put it back on". I was appalled at being given that information. That was unprofessional and made me feel less than as a patient because obviously it was expected that the crown wouldn't hold. Moreover, my tooth has been filed down each time so "the crown will fit properly". Obviously, the way the scan or whatever is being done for the lab to remake each crown isn't working.
Each time I've lost a crown I've called and left messages stating what happened and to try to make an appointment and no one EVER called me back. However, I've gotten four calls in the last three weeks about paying my
$110 ( or whatever it is) balance. In fact, I explained to the lady on the phone when she called me two weeks ago that she shouldn't be calling me asking me to pay for a service I hadn't even received yet. That conversation happened because she called for a payment two days before my appointment for my cleaning. Additionally, I stated that I have two insurances (my employer and my husbands) and asked had those companies been billed yet, in lieu of her asking me for a payment. Her answer was, "oh, I don't know".
I'm very unhappy with all of the services I've received EXCEPT for the cleanings. I will not return after today and I plan to complain to the BBB and other entities as appropriate because NO ONE has ever tried to effectively resolve the issue with ensuring that I get a crown that will be a proper fit and installed properly. I feel like a guinea pig and there is no regard for my feelings as a patient.
Regards,
LaTricia Morgan

Desired outcome: I should be given a proper apology and compensated for my mental distress, pain and agony. Additionally, I should be given a refund for whatever amount I (or my insurance) was charged for the crown(s).
Long waiting time at 2849 Germantown pkw. Memphis tn
Had an appointment for 8:15 in the morning. After an hour still didn't see the doctor ,so I decided to get my money back and leave
Had they given me a reason becouse the doctor was late in seeing me,probably I would have stayed.
I understand sometimes things don't go the right way,and maybe the doctor had some unforseen problems with a patient, but they need to inform the person who is waiting .
Treat your patients like persons not objects.
offfice visit
I booked an appt for severe tooth pain and was told I could be taken care that same day as my regular dentist was closed. They did extensive x-rays, told me what treatment was needed (2 fillings) and refused to treat because it was too close to closing time. I had given all my insurance info so I am sure Aspen will expect to collect payment even though they offered NO TREATMENT at all for my pain. Why would they even book the appt. It was never suggested that I might not be treated when seen. I feel like I was completely scammed!
Desired outcome: Relief from tooth pain by treatment of the problem. At the very least antibiotics! I got NOTHING.
Cleaning: $868.00!!! I have 10 real teeth in my mouth
August 29, 2022. Appointment for a cleaning.
They charged me for a cleaning. I asked what that covered. Oh a procedure for your gums.
OK, I only have 10 real teeth!
The doctor was not prepared to begin the "procedure" She had to crawl around the floor to plug in the machines, then set up the items needed. After about 10 minutes she started on me. Slooooly put some sort of stuff on my right gumes, then left the office. I was waiting for her to drain saliva, but got up and spit on tissues that were in the office. When she finally returned she removed the stuff on the right side, and told me to come back next week! WHAT! I paid $800.00 for this and no one said anything about two trips! I'm here now and want it finished. She went out and asked someone if it was OK. Then took five minutes to put stuff on the left side, and removed the stuff after five minutes. Asked me to set up my next visit in Nov. On my way out (VERY CONFUSED ABOUT THE MORNING) she chased me almost it the exit, to give me tooth paste and mouth wash that she forgot about! She did none of the other things listed on the "treatment plan.
Desired outcome: I want $800.00 back. What she did was not worth $68.00, But she did do something for an hour. Each time , at other dentists I've gone to, REAL cleanings cost $100.00. And the dentist was in the room constantly.
I got no information on what this consisted of!
How long it would take, that it would be another trip!
And this list goes on.
I would have to locate a fax machine to send a copy.
Misrepreseentation in amount due for services.
My husband, Charles Clegg, went to Aspen in Hilliard, Ohio to have some dental work done. We met with the Finance Manager who informed us the TOTAL COST WOULD BE $3263, WHICH WE PAID IN FULL. My husband went to his appointment this morning to have the final impression done. The first thing they did was ask him to meet with the Finance Manager who informed him he needed to pay another $840 to complete the work. THIS WAS NEVER MENTIONED INITIALLY AND I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS WITH MY HUSBAND WHEN HE ORIGINALLY SPOKE WITH THE FINANCE MANAGER IN APRIL OF 2022. Not only do we have to contend with this misrepresentation, but, also the treatment was so shoddy that their own dentist agreed someone did a terrible job of making a temporary partial. Wires were hanging out and poking into his gums causing a great deal of pain. Their new dentist redid the work.
Desired outcome: Want work completed in its entirety without an additional $840 charge.
PAYMENT to get new crown put on.
I had to get a crown put back in b/c the one I had prior fell off. I didnt know how long ago I had had it in. ASPEN DENTAL Finance person said I only had to owe 450.00 to get the crown done. I said that is all I owe, nothing else and he said yes. I paid the bill to get it done. I got a bill in the mail from DENTAL DENTAL that I owe 278.00 on the crown . I feel I should not have to pay this . Delta dental said I can only get a new crown filled after every 5 years and I got my crown completed in 2018. Since I got a new crown put in 2022 I had to pay more .. I am very upset about this and feel ASPEN DENTAL should approve that I do not have to own any more then what I paid. Dental dental said if aspen dental approves me just paying the 450 then that is fine.
i AM FILING A GRIEVANCE and feel I should not have to pay any extra toward the process of what I had done a month ago at aspen dental.
ALISON STANGEL
Desired outcome: I want to not have to pay what I was billed from dental dental of 278.10 extra
My husband, Charles R. Clegg, had dental work done which began on April 18, 2022. Before any work was done we met with the Finance Manager who said the total price would be $3,489.00. (We have the original sheet to prove it.) Over the course of several months, the workmanship proved to be very shoddy. For instance, when my husband complained about the partial being uncomfortable with wires poking into his gums, he went back to show them. The dentist who looked at the work agreed it was not done properly and redid it. Now, after waiting several months, he went to his appointment this morning to have the final impression made and when he walked in was immediately told to speak with the Finance Manager who said he owed another $840 to complete the work. NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER, WAS THIS MENTIONED WHEN HE WAS TOLD THE TOTAL AMOUNT DUE TO DO THE WORK! If something isn't done soon to correct this matter, we are going to file a lawsuit! (By the way, I am his wife and I was with my husband when we met with the Finance Manager originally and NOTHING WAS MENTIONED AT THAT TIME THAT AN ADDITIONAL $840 WOULD BE DUE TO COMPLETE THE WORK!)
Aspen teeth liners
I had purchased liners from Aspen about a year ago. I received trays 1-7. Seven's didn't fit, they scanned my teeth they said they haven't came in,SCAN, scanning my teeth 4 times, I wore 6's for 5 months went back to 5's because 6 broke and 7's didn't fit,SCAN,6 broke, 7's didn't fit,SCAN, they didn't get the scans,SCAN, waited for 6 months,5's broke,6 broke and 7 is broken. I want a refund for you not fulfilling your end of the agreement. I am very disappointed in your liners and the service I didn't recieve. I wanted to do something for myself to feel better about myself, since I was told I have cancer, and that dream has been shattered. Thank you. I have talked to a lawyer and have moved forward to a possible legal action. I would like a quick resolution on this matter by a full refund from you for not fulfilling your end of the agreement.I look forward to hearing back from you in a quick fashion. Thank you.
Desired outcome: a full refund of my money.
Temporary crown on upper front tooth
On Oct 14 I contacted local Aspen Dental office in OKC OK to have the crown reinstalled on upper tooth. This is third time in three days temp crown fell off. Now I cannot get anyone at Aspen to see me about this issue at all and the latest excuse is "computer problem". A computer is not needed to reinsert a temp crown the last time I checked. Poor customer service and terrible dental service plagues this Aspen practice. I have already paid for the permanent crown but I fear I will not be receiving it due to the poor service I have so far experienced. Also, no one at this office ever returns my calls when I leave a message for return call.
Desired outcome: Contact me about this issue and put a new temp crown on my tooth.
Double charges
I am being charged for treatments that were done back in May and June 2021 in the amount of $5597.10. I made a payment of $8000.00 on June 21, 2021, with my CareCredit Card and made other payment of $2852.00 on June 25, 2021, with my CareCredit Card. My insurance paid $2489.90. I never received a statement since this was done in the office. I was also told by the office that I was paid in full and that I didn't owe anything back in June. Yesterday I was told that I owe them $55597.10. due to my insurance declining payment. I spoke with my insurance yesterday, and they told me that they have not declined any payments. I am refusing to pay this amount $5597.10.
Desired outcome: I would like my account to show paid in full!!!
My insurance was charged for dentures that I haven't received
I went to Aspen dental in Farmington Missouri for tooth extractions and dentures. Yes I got the extractions and it was very painful I told the dentist that I can feel everything and he did nothing just kept pulling teeth and also told me I was approved through credit company called genesis and they state I was not approved. They also charged my insurance for dentures that I never received my bill was over $3,000 this was all in July 2021. I just had to go to a different dentist and pay out of pocket because they charged me for the unreceived dentures now my insurance won't cover dentures for 5 years.
Desired outcome: I wish to be compensated for the dentures and emotional distress
Dentures - lower partials
I am giving up hope on ever getting my permanent lower partials. I had almost all of my teeth extracted in January and received my immediate dentures. Last month, (September 2022) thanks to Lauren’s diligence and care, I finally got acceptable upper permanent dentures.
They haven’t been able to scan properly for my lowers after several attempts. I was called in *again* for another scan. Waited half an hour past my appointed time without being seen or even acknowledged and left. I work full time and all of this constant having to go in (it’s been pretty much every couple of weeks) is putting a strain on me and my work.
I’m about to look for another place that can do this and request a refund if I can’t get these people to respect my schedule and stop wasting so much of my time. Can anybody help?
Desired outcome: I’d like to get the lower partials I paid for without having to go into the office every two weeks, taking excessive time from work.
Payments on my account and other issues about dental services
Went to aspen they did a checkup and cleaning and gave me a total of dentures service and dentures would cost me I paid $5,000.00 in cash that day my insurance paid 1,000 then the next visit I paid 1,000 and then another 1,000 then they said I was all paid up but they sent a bridge not crown to be put in they never said it would cost only a fraction of what a crown cost so I got the bridge I am not satisfied with it then I had to pay extra here and there for some sort of stupid stuff the total for all was less than 7,000 now they tell me I still owe for my partials over 2,000 I don't have the money and the say I only paid 3,400 the first day a 1,00 another time and a 1,500 another then they said I owe 221 and I can get ty partials now they say I owe almost 3,00 for my partials I questioned them about the 5,000 they say I never gave them so I told them about the girl waiting on me she was on the cell phone and people kept coming interrupting her while she was with me I gave her the 5,00 she put a book on it and forgot where it was I told her then she put it under her computer and proceeded to tell me about my account and said good bye never gave me a receipt I feel like I have been made a fool of and I still do not have my partials I was to meet with the district manager the next day but she never showed up I called 4 times to see if she was there I feel they warned her about me all I want is to be done right and get my partials they say I paid over 6,00 but my crowns only cost 1,00 each so I ask them what did they do with the other 2,00 and something that was supposed to go on my partials they did not have an answer just told me to talk to the district manager now how can I get my teeth that I have already paid for thank you
Dentures
I’ve been trying for over two years to get an appointment for a fitting and adjustment on my lower dentures as they don’t fit and they are cutting my gums and under my tongue to the point of bleeding on a daily basis. Every time I try to get an appointment I never get a call back and when I actually do get an appointment it gets cancelled and rescheduled for a month out. I thought they had a money back guarantee and also thought they would be more professional. I am seeking a refund and possibly getting an attorney.
Desired outcome: Full refund on dentures so I can go somewhere that will actually see me and not give me the run around.
LaVale Maryland dental office
I started my dental care in the Lavale Maryland Aspen Dental office in April 2022 and during the first visit for the consultation the dentist Darcy Allen assessed my teeth and what dental work I would need to be done. During this initial visit, she was rude and very short with answering any questions my wife and I asked one of the dental assistants if she...
Read full review of Aspen DentalExtraction of impacted wisdom tooth
During the weekend of September 24, 25, 2022, I developed a toothache. I moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida last year and did not yet have a dentist. On Monday morning, September 26th, I called a dentist who was recommended to me but was unable to get an immediate appointment. Luckily, or so I thought, Aspen Dental was able to see me that very morning. I informed them that I only wanted the problem taken care of and that I would come in for a regular checkup at a later date.
They did X-rays and informed me I had an impacted wisdom tooth on the upper right hand side that appeared to be decayed and would need to be extracted by their oral surgeon. The dentist said she would prescribe me some pain medication in the meantime.
The guy that handles the scheduling told me it would cost me $606 after insurance and that I would need to pay upfront before they would schedule it. So I paid. I asked if I would be knocked out for the procedure and he seemed surprised that I asked. He said I could be but it would cost me over $500 more. I declined because I’m a 71 year old woman on a fixed income. He then tried to schedule it for the following day. I couldn’t take that appointment because hurricane Ian was supposed to hit our area directly and my park had a mandatory evacuation in place for 7 a.m. the next day. I had to leave. The next available appointment wasn’t until October 6th in a different office about 8 miles away. I scheduled it.
The pain I was experiencing became excruciating. The pain meds had codeine in them and were making me sick. I couldn’t even get out of bed. I made it back to Tarpon Springs on Friday, September 30th and placed a call to the Tarpon Springs office to see if I could get something without codeine. The dentist who had seen me then prescribed me amoxicillin and ibuprofen which after a few days helped tremendously.
The day before the surgery, I called the New Port Richie office where the procedure was taking place and asked if I could drive myself to the appointment and was told I could since I was only getting Novocain. A friend of mine wouldn’t hear of it and said she was going to drive me anyways.
The next day, October 6th, I showed up for my 10 a.m. 15 minutes early to complete more paperwork. The surgeon was running behind and I wasn’t called in until 10:40. When I sat in the chair the assistant showed me the X-Ray and I noticed the impacted tooth was at a slant kind of above the tooth next to it. I asked her if that would make it harder to remove and she said no. When the surgeon came in I asked him if I would have any stitches. He said it was unlikely. He then administered three shots of Novocain which were like nothing I had ever experienced. They were so painful and the third one actually ended with a flash of extraordinary, burning heat.
What happened next is still very difficult for me to even think about. The surgeon was pushing and prying so hard I thought my jaw was going to break. The crunching and cracking sounds were unbearable. He told his assistant to push the other side of my head toward him. I was right in a vice. He finally got the tooth out and proceeded to give me stitches. He then left the room and the assistant was rattling off things for me to do and not to do. She put gauze in my mouth and handed me some gauze to take home then walked me to the front where my friend was waiting. And I was out the door, trembling, shaking and now starting to cry. They didn’t even schedule a post op appointment…not that I would have went. I have never received any type of follow up from them, unlike the numerous texts and emails I received about my appointment.
It has now been 4 days since this happened and I still feel traumatized.
Desired outcome: I would like monetary compensation and I would like to make sure this never happens to another patient.
Here are some photos taken October 8th and 9th, 2022.
