Aspen National Collections This debt was owed by my ex-wife.

My response but they haven't removed their claim from my credit report. -. - 12-16-2023

I am challenging the credit report under the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act. I challenge any entries on my credit report based on the fact any adverse claim against property in rem and not against me personal in personam and should not be against my credit report because any lein there on goes against any property that I do not claim. If this lein is valid this property would stand for it but it is not a claim against me personally because it is an in rem claim only against the property and it has not been reduce to judgment therefore under the federal Fair Credit Act should be removed from my credit report. Further, I am reserving all rigths against this for slander of title against other properties of which I may own. Your credit reported rating adversely affects my other property and actually creates a slander of title for which I have a reservation of rights against all parties.

Desired outcome: Remove all claims from my credit report.

While many travel companies are legitimate, it's important to be cautious and do your research before booking a trip to ensure that you are getting a good deal and not falling victim to a scam.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While Aspen National Collections has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. • The website belonging to Aspen National Collections has a low number of visitors, which could be a red flag for users. However, it's important to conduct additional research to fully evaluate the website's legitimacy and trustworthiness.

Aspen National Collections This collection agency added my name to an account that I am not responsible for

This collection agency added my name to an account that I am not responsible for. This has now impacted my credit. The account in question is not owned or co-signed by me. I tried to contact Aspen National, but they wouldn't help. They wouldn't give proof that I was linked to the account. I have no papers to support my case since no evidence was given to me to argue against.

Aspen National Collections A balance of 2111 has been reported on my credit report and continues to lower my score

A balance of 2111 has been reported on my credit report and continues to lower my score. This company has never once reached out to me to explain what these charges are for nor attempted to settle. There is no account number or contact information to even verify if this is my account. My husband had a timeshare through Grand View, but we always make timely payments. This charge has nothing to do with me and I would like it removed as it is ruining my chances for any credit or loans to help pay for my daughter's college. Simply contact your customer to settle and explain the charges or contact them before you send it to collections. This was not handled correctly and I would like it removed from my report immediately.

Aspen National Collections We got a letter from Aspen sayin' we owe 'em money, but we don't

We got a letter from Aspen sayin' we owe 'em money, but we don't. We called 'em up to clear things up, but they didn't wanna look into it. The person on the phone wasn't helpful at all, they just kept tellin' us to make payment arrangements. Me and my husband ain't sure 'bout the claim 'cause we been payin' Wyndham every month for years. We told Aspen 'bout it, but they didn't even acknowledge it. So we reached out to Wyndham ourselves and they sent us an email sayin' we don't owe nothin' and to ignore Aspen's letter. But then, a representative from Aspen called my husband and kept arguin' with him. We sent Aspen the email from Wyndham, but they still sent us another letter sayin' we owe 'em. We even filed a claim online with the WA State attorney general's office.

Aspen National Collections On 6/11, I got a collection notice from Aspen National Collections in the mail

On 6/11, I got a collection notice from Aspen National Collections in the mail. They said I owed them ***. They added an interest charge of $53.39 and another category called "Fees" for a total of $594.19. When I called them to ask about these "fees," the person I spoke to, Casey D., said it was their company policy. I asked for more information, and he insulted me by saying, "They are fees, Mr.." I asked him to explain how they calculated these "Fees" in simpler terms. Finally, he told me that their company charges 33% of the collection balance. I have doubts about the legality and ethics of this practice. I told them that my wife and I have been greatly affected by COVID-19, and we have lost a lot of income in the past 18 months. We asked for help, but instead, they insulted us and acted unprofessionally.

Aspen National Collections This here's about a collection added to my Credit history 'bout a Grandview Timeshare

This here's about a collection added to my Credit history 'bout a Grandview Timeshare. The amount is 485.38 as said by agent, Mark S. on ext. *** Timeshare was owned for years together and transferred to my ex as part of separation. Aspen had the wrong address, contact deets, telephone as confirmed on call and never contacted me. I gave 'em my current info for future contact. I'm disputin' this credit reportin' 'cause I was never contacted and only found out 'bout it when automated credit management kicked in. To make things right, I wanna get rid of this entry or I can work with credit union to sort it out 'cause it's wrongly on my account instead of my ex. In the big picture, ~$500 ain't worth my time to fight it for months through credit reportin' and legal means to have it removed. So, I'm willin' to pay it for my ex (reluctantly) as long as the entry from my report is gone. Not marked as paid but gone.

Aspen National Collections I ain't responsible for no $625 debt that Aspen National Collection is tryin' to collect

I ain't responsible for no $625 debt that Aspen National Collection is tryin' to collect. I done sent 'em multiple letters askin' 'em to prove this debt, but they ain't responded with no proof. I need some dang evidence that I'm the one they wantin' to pay this debt, and some kinda contract that says I gotta pay it. Y'all should know that under FDCPA Section 809 (b), y'all can't be collectin' on a debt 'til it's been validated. 'Cause I'm disputin' this debt, y'all shouldn't be reportin' it to no credit agencies. If y'all already done reported it, y'all better let them credit agencies know it's disputed and delete it from my credit report. Reportin' false info or messin' up the info y'all report is a violation of the FDCPA and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Aspen National Collections I bought an RV membership from Colorado River Adventures

I bought an RV membership from Colorado River Adventures. We used it once and then we sent them a cancellation letter in 2018. They continued to charge us yearly fees for 3 years, but we never got a bill even though they had our forwarding address. Last year, we got a notice from Aspen National Collections saying we owe almost $1000. We contacted Colorado River Adventures, but they wouldn't talk to us. We had to talk to Aspen, which we did. I told them what we had done, but they didn't care. So, I sent them signature required return receipt letters with a copy of my cancellation letter and an explanation of how we received no bills and only used it once in the first year, for which we had paid our dues. The membership was paid in full before we canceled, but they continue to charge yearly dues even though we sent a cancellation letter. Aspen said they won't communicate with us anymore after October last year, but the problem is I sent them all the info after that date and they never looked at it. Now it is on my wife's (***) and my credit report, hurting it. They won't communicate with us in writing anymore. This is wrong.

Aspen National Collections I got a call from Tom at Aspen National Collections about late maintenance fees from ***

I got a call from Tom at Aspen National Collections about late maintenance fees from ***. When I talked to Tom, he started yelling and asked why we hadn't paid our fees. We were in lockdown for Covid and didn't have a job at that time. Tom didn't care and threatened to report my information to the credit bureau before the account was supposed to be reported. I gave him my personal information and asked if we could pay online. Tom said we weren't going to pay and accused us of playing games. He said he would report us to the credit bureau and hung up on me.

In 2021, my husband and I contacted Aspen again and spoke to Tom. Tom was rude and refused to help. We said we could set up a payment plan, but Tom wouldn't accept $100 a month and hung up. This representative doesn't want to help, but keeps calling us to ask what we can pay. Aspen National Collections is currently being sued for unauthorized collection fees that are 33% more than the collection amount. I want to pay the amount our timeshare provided or make the payments through ***. I also want Aspen to adjust my credit report with the correct amount. Aspen National Collections is not being reasonable, charging extra fees, and not willing to work with us.

Aspen National Collections On December 15, I got a notification from my credit monitorin' service sayin' that my credit score had changed

On December 15, I got a notification from my credit monitorin' service sayin' that my credit score had changed. On that report, I saw a collections account of $383 from the Williamsburg Plantation timeshare that got transferred to Aspen National for collections. I right away tried contactin' both Williamsburg Plantation and Aspen to get more info 'bout the collections account 'cause I hadn't received a bill, phone call, or email 'bout this debt. Bein' an active duty military member, I currently live overseas and forward all my postal mail to my PO box. My phone number has changed, but my personal email has stayed the same. I never knew 'bout this debt and was shocked when I found out I was in collections. After not gettin' a response from my timeshare, I emailed Aspen's customer service hopin' someone would get in touch with me ASAP to sort out this debt. When Aspen finally called me usin' the number I gave 'em in my email, I talked to agent Jessica and paid the full amount to her. I asked 'bout a goodwill deletion 'cause I genuinely didn't know 'bout this bill, and she quickly told me that "my collections account is too new to remove, we only remove older accounts." I'm disappointed in this company 'cause I always pay on time and genuinely try to keep things in order with my constantly changin' military obligations. Judgin' from the other complaints, it seems like Aspen National helps out folks who've been sittin' on collections for years or have "older accounts" instead of assistin' those who do the right thing and pay as soon as they find out 'bout their collections. I'm askin' Aspen National to remove this collection account from my credit 'cause I paid the balance in full right after I got notified.

Aspen National Collections My account was reported to my credit as collections

My account was reported to my credit as collections. After many tries to fix it. Since October I've been dealing with David M. from Aspen National Collections. He was a really nice and understanding person. My ex wife and I were going through a divorce and in the middle of transferring the deed solely into her name. She had hired a lawyer to handle the paperwork and try to delay any action. In January, David called me again and said I needed to set up a payment plan to prevent it from affecting my credit report. I immediately explained my situation with my ex and how I thought it was taken care of. We discussed the initial details of a payment plan and I said I could call him back to finalize it before I bought my new car on Feb 15th. I gave him permission to leave a voicemail if he needed to reach me. Based on our conversation, as long as I followed through, I wouldn't be sent to collections. The following week, I called to follow up with David and understand the payment plan terms better, but he wasn't available at the time. Considering our past interactions, I didn't feel comfortable talking to someone new. On 2/12/22, I missed a call from David M., but he didn't leave a voicemail. Three hours later, they reported it to my credit on a Saturday. I took immediate action on Monday morning and paid off the debt in full, as shown in the attached document. I asked a supervisor to remove it from my credit report due to the overall miscommunication and my situation with my ex. He said he thinks I wouldn't have paid it off if they hadn't reported me. However, my promises and recorded phone calls clearly prove otherwise. I need this removed from my report right away. I did exactly what I was supposed to do.
