Unit construction and Key fab reactivation.
I don't know much about this property management. Because I am a new unit owner of 5 Saddlestone Way NE, Unit 207. I have very bad experience dealing with the management staff especially Bryden and his passive assistant.
It's been more than 4 months the management is ignoring the fix my unit since my unit is damaged by the flooding from unit 207. Since then my unit is very dangerous to live in because of the cockroach infestation. I sent them email too my times and called them almost every day. But I need get answered my call and no call back to fix my problem.
And for building access my wife needed the second key fab reactivation but it's been more than 2 months no issue has been resolved.
I am looking for someone to help me to fix my problem.
If anyone knows how to file a complain to this property management please let me know.

Contract Work
I run a small remediation company in Calgary. I have been doing contract work for Asset West for the last few years. I have done 3 separate jobs for them in April & May of this year. My invoices to them are now 3 months overdue. I have tried email, no reply, called numerous times ,got an answer from Lia once, only to be told at first that the check for payment will be in mail soon (that was in early June and that was a lie) Now after leaving numerous emails, I am yet to receive a reply. Now they leave me no choice but to contact a lawyer and let them handle it. I have wasted numerous hours trying to get an answer from asset West, I got nothing. I am very disappointed in this company and will never do work for them again.
Desired outcome: Would like the payments owed to me asap before this escalates into a court date. I am in talks with a lawyer now.
Received a call from Asset West yesterday (July 17) and was told my payment for invoice would be ready to pick up at their office today (July18) after 1PM . I leave a jobsite early to go pick payment up , only to be told they don't have it there. Wasted a half of days work . I'm keeping track of all my wasted time trying to get my well overdue payment.
Cleaning service NOT Provided
We had a water pipe burst in our Unit it took a month in total to get it fixed (lived with a hole in the wall)
We were told by Asset West they would be sending in a cleaner to clean all the drywall dust covering our whole apartment.
Spoke with someone twice and left two voicemails…my Unit is still covered in drywall dust.
Very unreliable and not impressed with their lack of service.

I am a current resident at a Calgary condo managed by AWPM, we are new renters here and have only been here two months. we were lied to by the owner and signed a two year lease. nowhere in the said lease does it mention AWPM or the condo by-laws they require you to adhere to. we were falsely accused of leaving our dogs defecation all over common grounds, which was strictly hearsay, we have two dogs who go twice a day. two poops a day times 60 days, that's a lot of poop. we have been spied on repeatedly by the staff peering in windows and spending inappropriate amounts of time outside our unit. we have requested numerous times to have our front door buzzer programmed it has now been close to three months and still nothing. my wife has missed detrimental deliveries of insurance papers delivered by fed-ex as they are located in the USA. not one time has anyone said hi to us or introduced themselves, although supposedly many complaints about us have been heard. again no proof has been offered. we now for the second residence in a row, we have to go to court and fight for our damage deposit and our integrity. we have never seen such disrespect from people who we have never interacted with and it feels horrible. our new life has been tainted again by irresponsible landlords and dishonest people trying to make a quick buck off honest people. is it not law to put dd in a separate trust account? why is it that whenever I ask to see account numbers or proof of this it is never produced, and even under oath in a court room no one seems to care? I am confused as to why our fore fathers fought and died to give us a fair and honest opportunity to live our lives does it seem to abused and poisoned by greed. what a shame
Damage Desposit
I'm going to attach an abundance of files to support my complaint, so I will just give point form here to make things easier.
1 - Lost my rental check
2 - Requested a money order (without) reimbursement for it
3 - Did not show up on time to retrieve money order...left me waiting for an hour
4 - Continually harassed me to show my property over the month of August, even though I had stipulated in a written document that the property would not be ready until the last week of August.
5 - Did not return my damage deposit check in 10 days - as stipulated in the rental agreement
6 - When deposit was returned, deductions were taken off in relation to a stipulation in the rental agreement which was unfounded
7 - Lack of response, complete incompetence, which was later recognized by head office
8 - Told by head office that I would receive a letter of apology and the $75 which was wrongfully taken from me
9 - A week passes and I call back to enquire, I am ignored, several faxes and emails also ignored
10 - I am then told that I will not receive the rest of my damage deposit until October now...remember it was originally due 10 days from the 29th of August. Read the attachments to see that the reasoning for this, as stated by asset west was - loss of my check, incompetence of their staff, and a changing of financial institutes - none of which are my problem but fall on the shoulders of Asset West.
11 - I continue to contact the office and am ignored...by this point it is simply principle, not the money at hand or the letter of apology.
12 - I report to the Administrative Assistant that I will be filing this complaint if I do not receive some sort of communication by the end of the day...I am once again ignored.

Staff bullying
I am an ex-employee of this company. I strongly advise anybody who is considering applying for employment with this company to think again. I suffered horrible verbal abuse and bullying by a female Manager in this company for nearly 2 years. I ended up walking out as I could no longer tolerate being screamed at, having paperwork thrown around the office, being accused of things I had not done in a loud and vicious manner, continuous whining about the owner behind his back and worst of all, the total loss of my confidence and self esteem at the hands of this person.

TheyRip you off and spit in your face
Darren Potter and Asset West are useless. All the buildings are full of party people. Tons of drugs and drinking and loud music all night. Then when you complain they say hey just phone the RCMP dont bother us we are busy just taking your money and doing nothing with it.
If you are looking for a property management company steer away from asset west! They will bill you like crazy and do nothing. They had some painters outside our condo and it said on september 7 2011 we will be painting. Well its now september 8th and all these bums do is get paint all over my car and patio then cuss at me when i complain.
I complain to asset west and well "Its not our problem its yours." I suggest using peka instead at least they listen to you. Dont let Darren Potter steal your money. Avoid Asset West Buildings at all costs! Glen Smith is just as bad as Darren. I suggest Watching its a wonderful ife Darren Potter is just like the Mr. Potter in that movie. A money grubbing slumlord who couldnt care less.

Darren Potter is an arrogant bully, liar and thief. He interferes with Board meetings and inflicts HIS legal opionins as facts to manipulate members. He sent computer generated e mails saying he was a busy guy and would get back to me at his convenience, for 2 and a half months. He finally sent me a response when I sent him some more aggressive e mails. He responded with a lecture on being professional. Followed by another month of ignoring me, and finally sending me an arrogant telling me. He (and the board) are not obligated to consult with the owners in the complex, and did not have to explain thier actions or processes to same. We are to comply or face fines. He has repeatedly tried to weasel me, a cancer patient, with a medical license to use Medical Cannabis. The last 2 months he has wasted the condo owners money on perusing and garnering support to burden a sick man with is ego. He tells me I have to provide him the medical records to determine if he felt my medical condition was acceptable to him. Apparently the 5 REAL doctors and Health Canadas conditions do not meet his particular medical requirements. I have yet to receive his MD doctor credentials. He also insisted I provide copies of my license and medical records. Considering the dozens of complaints against this weasel, why would I leave secure medical documents with him. Avoid any dealings with this parasite. Most likely the one or 2 comments praising this worm are written by him. No decent human being would do business with this bully.
I agree with the complaints - I've had years of experience with poor service from AW. They rarely get back to you in a timely manner. They are thieves - and have no conscience regarding taking your condo association fees and doing as little as possible / nothing for you in return. It's highly likely that the positive comment was posted by one of these unsavoury, seedy clowns - or an affiliate - as well as the ridiculously fake personal testimonials on their website.
I disagree with this completely. Asset West has been completely professional for us! When you have a concern, they approach it in reasonable time. In my case, I had a concern about a repair that was done as I didn't believe it was done as well as it could have been. I called and expressed my concern, they listened to my opinion and they came over to understand my concern. After a good discussion about what I expected and they expected, we decided that yes in fact, it could have been done better. A couple days later, it was fixed and the contractor apologized to us (not necessary!). I know that guy didn't work for Assetwest, and was a subcontract, but it was nice to know that Assetwest really took time to make sure all was right, and they protected me as a tentant.
And I know in my case, Asset West may manage the building and our suite, but they didn't manage ALL the units in the building. So, this review is just hateful and for some reason someone without a spine is trying to spread lies. Decide for yourself, because (even though I don't live in an Asset West suite anymore) I certainly enjoyed my time dealing with them!
