I believe it is essential to bring this issue to your attention, as my experience with the company's representatives was far from the level of service I expected from a reputable brand like Athleta.
During my initial call, I encountered an unhelpful and, in my opinion, discourteous customer service representative. After identifying myself and explaining my request for a return, it became evident that my billing address was not up-to-date in my account due to a recent move. When I attempted to provide my new address, the representative responded with undue sternness, insisting that the address I provided was incorrect. I calmly suggested providing an alternative address, but before I could do so, the representative abruptly began repeating something in Spanish, which I could not understand, and promptly terminated the call.
Undeterred, I made a second call, and this time a female representative answered. At the outset of our conversation, I kindly requested that she refrain from disconnecting the call and remain on the line with me. She agreed to my request, but unfortunately, my concerns were not met. When she asked for my order number and billing address, I informed her of the address change and emphasized my prior unpleasant experience of being hung up on. Despite my requests, she abruptly disconnected the call while I was providing my billing address.
This marked the second instance of call termination in a row, both occurring during my attempts to seek assistance with a return through Athleta's customer service. Frustrated by the consistent lack of professionalism, I called once more, now considerably upset. Upon connecting with the third customer service representative, I pleaded with her not to repeat the previous occurrences and explained the situation with the prior two Athleta associates. She assured me that she would remain on the line, and indeed, she successfully assisted me in processing my return, for which I was grateful.
However, the heart of the matter remains the unsatisfactory customer service treatment I received from the initial two representatives. Such incidents should never happen to any customer calling Athleta for assistance. I held Athleta to high standards, and the experiences I encountered contradicted these standards.
I implore you to investigate this matter and take appropriate action. Athleta's customer service representatives should embody the brand's commitment to excellence, and no customer should endure discourteous or unprofessional treatment when reaching out for assistance.
