terrible experience
T.V. is bad enough today as it is with the Viagara commercials when your eating dinner with your family and then you go into the Living room to try to enjoy the evening and there is this Horrible woman Yelling at this Poor kid for who knows what. We all hate it! We had to see it a few times sadly to find out it was of all things "Ice Cream?" It makes no...

The comment "In Your Face' was totally unnecessary in the commercial from Baskin Robbins. You would think that the writers could come up with some "catchy" commercials that are fun like we used to see. No wonder our childred and grandchildren act like smart alecs. It is promoted in many of the ads on television.
terrible commercial
The commercial for Baskin-Robbins ice cream is so offensive and it should be taken off the air. It's a soccer match and a small boy runs over for the ball and a young woman on the side lines kicks the ball away and screams at him "In your face". Please notify Baskin=Robbins they should take it off the air.
Thank you.
If you don't like it don't watch it simple enough, and saying they should be fined 25 Million makes me want to see you in a mental hospital. ITS A COMMERCIAL!
Twice in past month I have stopped at your Baskin Robins outlet on McCorkle Ave in Charleston WV to purchase some sugar free ice cream for my wife who has sugar diab. Both times I have been informed that the store had no sugar free ice cream. Out of at least 25 to 30 or more flavors of ice cream there was no sugar free. This time, however, today, a young man, perhaps the manager advised me that he had a bucket of sugar free ice cream in the back but that if he brought it out he would have to cut it in half and I would have to buy half of it. ?
Is this Baskin Robins policy towards their customers?
I am pretty liberal when it comes to humor, but the "in your face" ad was in the poorest of tastes. The ice cream is the last thing you are paying attention to - instead one is shocked to see and hear a grown woman yelling a rude remark in the face of a child. I figured it would garner enough flack to get the attention of the powers that be at Baskin Robbins. The "high five" replacement is a good choice.
Now they got the coach giving the ###ed Mom a high five. So he is endorsing her behavior.
Just as bad or worse. Get new writers Baskin Robbins, no one except a few ###s here thinks it is funny.
I loved the in your face ad. It was so funny. Thanks thought police for getting it pulled off the air. You must be a bunch of Democrats. I hate you all. Die. Die. Die.
oh for pete's sake it's JUST A COMMERCIAL! as a matter of fact I think it was awesome! now because of all the cry~babies that complained about it, they went and changed it and now it's kinda corny...get over yourselves people...find something better to complain about! geez...you're all just so perfect I'm sure. pssh
So sad that BR caved to a bunch of idiot whiners.
It's called HUMOR people! Get over it!
Great comments Curt! *thumbs up
Oh my God, I absolutely love the "in your face" commercial, it is hilarious...What is offensive about it? Ice cream brings out the kid in this grown-up, that's all it's about...has nothing to do with child abuse, where tha hell did that come from? Loosen up ladies, try smearing baskin- robbins all over your chest, pull your hubbies face into it while screaming "IN YOUR FACE!", then maybe you will quit watching so damn much TV!...Oh and Baskin -Robbins...pleeease put the original commercial back on, it is perfect...I was so upset when I saw it had been changed, I came right to my pc to post my complaint. I KNEW it was because of some bleeding heart, sexually frustrated, soccer moms behind it all! Don't give in, keep the commercial...if you discover that sales drops off considerably due soley to the commercial, THEN change it...otherwise IN YOUR FACE soccer moms!...oh and GET A LIFE too, while you're at it. ;)
Yeah, it might cause a fight, but at least the soccer Mom will get to eat her ice cream.
Go Baskin Robbins!
To Hell with anybody who gets in the way of eating their ice cream! In your face!
She shoulda said 'In your face motha ###a" That would have been funnier.
Get the thing off of the air and fine Baskin Robbins, At least 25Mil, to be given to youth soccer teams across the nation. The kids play hard and fair. It is a good clean sport with a whole lot of cardio exersise. The question is, will this add. cause a fight, by an upset parent, resulting death or serious injury.

terrible commercial
The commercial showing the mon kicking the ball and than screaming at some little child's 'in your face, ' has to be the bottom of the barrel for commercials. If any body yelled at my child like that the cops would be called. I can not believe that a company such as Baskin Robbins would pay good money to have a commercial like that produced. Is this commercial suppose to be making a point. Or just show me this is not a store where I would stop and buy ice cream.
Your commercial is the pits.
If one of your workers would walk into you’re office and scream into your face, I'm sure you would be offend, much less have very ill feeling about that individual. If you saw a mother or an adult person in a grocery store, or any place, screaming like that to a child, I might add, wouldn't you want to call the child abuse center! Where the heck where your heads? We have enough abuse, you don’t have to show them more…. Good Grief
I can not understand why you would air such a commercial showing a woman kicking a soccer ball in the face of a child and yelling "In you face".
James A. Earnhardt is my friend and I can assure you that sending him a letter would do no good since he retired from BR almost 20 years ago.
this is bullsh**. They made the commercial because its funny. If you've ever studied the effects of Mass Media (which I seriously doubt), you would know that a mimic effect due to exposure to negative images through television outlets is extremely unlikely. The only reason those myths persist is because whiny controlling uneducated people like you complain about it. Read a book ###.
LOL, this commercial is great! Lighten up guys, it's hilarious!
Do what I just did...send a letter to James A. Earnhart, the President of Baskin-Robbins. The address is Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Brands Inc., 130 Royall Street, Canton MA 02021. Maybe if enough people write in, they'll drop it. Personally, I think it's the worst example, next to parents fist-fighting, of unsportsmanlike conduct. What message is it sending to kids? And who wants to buy ice cream from a company who thinks this commercial is funny? I live about 1/4 mile from a Baskin-Robbins and I have no desire whatsoever to buy ice cream from there. At this point, I'll take Cold Stone's high prices anyday!
Okay, here we go again. A bunch of people that cannot recognize a sense of humor when they see it. Obviously the company meant no harm with the commercial and are just going with every other commercial out there now days and trying to add a bit of humor into their advertisement. You have all failed at realizing this. And with the current worldly events going on, this is the most outrageous thing that you need to keep your kids protected from you have issues.
I would go as far as to say the people that were so appauled by this commercial are in that Berkeley, California mindset, where they're living in their own perfect little world and wouldn't survive minutes outside of their little comfort bubble they have surrounding them. They believe that everything can be solved peacefully so they *try* and kick the Marine recruiting center out of their town. They also have the beliefs along with others that we should change all of our American beliefs so that people who come into the country aren't "offended".
These are, for the most part, the people who think that we should take the Pledge of Allegiance out of schools, keep English from becoming the "official" American language, and think that America should apologize for all sorts of things that are closely related to those types of topics. I think that is outrageous, and I believe that if they're so easily offended with things of this nature that they should just head on out of the country and head to some place like France, where they have a habit of being "appauled" and complaining about even the smallest events. They would fit in a lot better. I know that is a little extreme but I just get tired of hearing about the small portion of America becoming a weak minded group of, as Bill O'Reilly would say, pinheads.
So to those who fall into the previous group, take the commercial for what it was. As a humorous commercial that wasn't intended to hurt anyone, but to get a few laughs and get their product out there.
That and toughen up some and stop continuing on this current trend of becoming more and more prissy, and let us strive to become more like the generations of the 40's and 50's as far as mental toughness goes. Take the good with the bad and keep on trucking.
Also, If you're so worried about what the kids will see, it's on you, not Baskin Robbins or any other company, to protect them from viewing it.
i thought the commercial was funny. it didn't mean any harm and it does NOT teach poor sportsmanship. IT WAS A JOKE! i couldn't stop laughing and i searched all over the internet to try and find the commercial and send it to my friends. i am not an abuser, i am not a "mental midget" and i am not one of those moms that run up and down the field screaming at little kids. i can't believe that there is all this stuff on tv with sex and drugs and showing people getting killed and people are getting mad over an ad that was supposed to be a joke. most intelligent people would not take that mother to be a roll model and start running out on the field and kicking balls away from kids. and i'm pretty sure that kids aren't going to start acting like that if you pay attention to them and teach them right from wrong. most people would see the humor in the commercial and laugh with it cause it is such ludicrous behavior, like stalking a computer animated gecko on a train...you parents and grandparents and great grandparents who have nothing better to do than complain about a commercial like that, need to go out and get a job or hobby or something because there are way worse things in the world like war and global warming. get a sense of humor and start paying attention to the more important issues at hand...
Get over it! Get a sense of humor!
It looks like they edited the ad. I saw it on A&E network today she gives a High 5 but sound is muted.
in your face tv commercial
I could not believe this commercial, coming from a family orientated company. A mother, screaming into the face of a child at a child's game is totally inappropriate.
What were they thinking?
AHH Stephpen, Jb, Robyn, or whatever your name is, YOU are spending too much time DEFENDING those IDIOTS at BR. Perhaps you work for them? Are you the writer?
To R! Whisper: Where did you learn your concept of 'humor'?
To Amy Williams: I totally agree with you. Humor ALWAYS offends someone, but it's the overserious grouches who get offended by small, funny things like this commercial.
To Todd: I was bummed, too. It always made me laugh, always lightened up my day.
Umm, this ad was way out of line and it was NOT funny.
r! whisper
Get a life, people. Commercials are not meant to be taken seriously. What is wrong with our society when we have to pull commercials just because they offend people? Oh, no! We upset someone! Can't have that! First they pulled the Dunkin' Donuts commercial because Rachel Ray was wearing a scarf that resembled something Muslim. Oh, no! Can't offend the Religious Right! Now this... What next?
That commercial was hilarious. Now it's absolutely stupid, just like nearly every commercial on TV. Humor always offends someone. Maybe that's why every commercial on TV has become ridiculous and dumb. Everyone's afraid to offend someone, so they end up saying nothing at all.
Rediculous - Are you kidding me. This is just an over zealous soccer mom with a stick up her butt. This commercial is in no way degrading and very far fetched when it comes to child abuse! In my opinion I think children are getting babied a little too much in today's society. Parent can't dicipline a child without thinking twice if the authorities are going to knock on the door!
Lighten up and laugh a little. I was bummed when the pulled the commercial.
I personally found it hilarious, I mean come ON people, its JUST a commercial. A funny clip showing that the parent wanted the icecream even more than the kid! Big whoopie. I can hardly BELIEVE people are ACTUALLY taking time out of their day to complain against this. What's the point? What's done is done. And nobody actually got hurt; I can guarantee that that kid was one happy camper after they got their paycheck. Sheesh...
Yeah, it was Funny! It would have been awesome if the soccer mom kicked the kid in the face and totally ripped her. Then she could have punched the ref and the coach in the face and kicked them in the balls! Now that would be funny. Then when the cops came, she could have wiped them all out with a semi automatic. Woo hoo. NOW that would be funny! Go Baskin Robbins! jb and David, you rock!
OMG you scare me! Are you kidding! It is called HUMOR! That commercial was awesome!
The lame ad they used to replace it is stupid and ineffective.
These commercials are not what is wrong with America - YOU are!
*Runs off to send supportive email to BR
Well, the PC police have won. The ending of the commercial has been changed so the woman high fives the coach instead of saying "in your face" to the kid.
Some people have no sense of humor. The whole series of BR commercials has been very humerous, showing what crazy things people will do to get to BR.
The original commercial was not mean spirited but amusing and zany. And I bet most kids "got" the humor more than the humorless parents.
in a day where there are many problems on sports fields where parents are fighting with coaches, refs and other parents this was not a good idea. many kids have gotten hurt by these things happening and we need to make a field more positive. Is it not enough that we have had kids killed due to this bad behavior and example? remember we teach by our actions.
bad service
Between July 5, 2008 and July 9, 2008, I went to Baskin Robbins store in Hatfield, PA (located at 1250 Bethlehem Pike Hatfield PA) FOUR times (on 4 different days) and every time I asked for ice cream in large waffle cones. The store operators never had the cones on any day of my four visits! They claimed they ran out of large waffle cones because they made them in limited numbers because the cones go bad after two days if not sold. Well, I will never go back to this store that forces me to eat my favorite ice cream in a cake cone which I really do not like much.
I can understand if it wasn't four days in a row how you can have a resonable complaint, but since you went four days in a row, and the supply truck comes only once a week, sometimes places run out of things. Just get a cup next time. Doing so would mean getting the ice cream you like, but with out the stress of eating a cone you really don't like that much.
Not honoring the 31 cents limit 10 per person
Me and my family of (5) members went to baskin robbins 31 flavor wedsnday 4/30/2008 @ 8:45 pm in honor of the .31 cent scoop night. the limit was 10 scoops per person. Instead of having my whole family in line i had them to sit down and waite while i approach the counter and request 2 scoops of 5 different ice cream which was a total of 10 scoops the...

Tonight while watching "Saving Private Ryan" Baskin Robbins aired same commercial twice . --the one with the mom telling her little boy (who is outside) to hurry and she would take him tom B. &-----then you see the man in the commercial turn the hose full force on the child --there was no smile on his face and he continued to direct that strong strem of water on the boy (who was struggling to get out of the water).. To me the message was one of abuse and the act of hosing the child was not done in fun. After that I'm not sure I would run down to buy the B&R ice cream. Please review content. There is enough abuse of kids without a major ice cream supplier encouraging bad behavior. Thank you for reading
what about the one where the father is squirting his kid with the power hose? that's just as bad as the demented mother.
I agree. I was shocked the first time I saw this ad. Such a horrible example for a parent. If one wants to raise a bully, this is the ad to watch...
You are absolutely right. Children see a demented mother illegaly kicking the ball, then screaming at and taunting a young child. Hardly an example of sportsmanship or leadership. It is no wonder our children have no respect for others. Idiots like Baskin Robbins are endorsing this idiotic behavior.
