Bay Ridge Toyota Hi, my name is John and I own a 2018 Toyota Camry

Hi, my name is John and I own a 2018 Toyota Camry. I live in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, my Toyota had a problem with the brakes while I was driving, which caused a small accident. I found out that many Toyota models, including mine, had recalls for brake failures from the factory. Toyota confirmed this when I provided them with the vehicle identification number. Now, Toyota won't fix my car unless I pay them $1000 within a few days. Otherwise, I have to wait for weeks or even months for a free repair. They also won't give me another car to use in the meantime. If they don't fix this issue within 2 business days, I'm going to complain to Toyota about wasting my time and money. Anyways, I've owned two Toyotas before, but this will be the last time I buy one after being treated like this.

Bay Ridge Toyota We had an appointment to fix our Toyota Sienna at Bay Ridge Toyota

We had an appointment to fix our Toyota Sienna at Bay Ridge Toyota. They called and said they needed to replace a part to fix the problem. The cost of the part was $1,723.69, and we agreed to pay it. But after they replaced the "damaged" part, the car still had the same issue. I asked why, and they said it could be something else now. Because of their lack of professionalism, responsibility, and honesty, we decided to pick up the car. I asked them to put the original part back, but they refused. They also said we couldn't have the car unless we paid for the part that didn't fix the problem. As a consumer, I will report this business to the *** DMV, ComplaintsBoard.com, and everywhere possible so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Bay Ridge Toyota It's disgustin' what the Toyota repair shop has put me through

It's disgustin' what the Toyota repair shop has put me through. I drove my *** Toyota Camry to the shop on July 12 for a stallin' issue and I ain't gotten my car back yet. Today is October 6. The car is in very good condition and had just had an oil change a week earlier at the Sunrise Toyota dealer in *** , . The Bay Ridge Toyota service department neglects to return my calls for a status update on the repair of my car 'cept that every week or couple of weeks I finally get a reply and I'm told another repair is needed. First I was advised that a $300 diagnostic would be performed and the needed repairs would be conveyed to me. I was told in a few days that the ignition coils and spark plugs would be replaced; then when this did not correct the problem Toyota told me the repair would include a charcoal emission valve; then when this did not correct the problem I was told a distributor assembly would fix it; then when this did not fix the problem (and maybe made it worse 'cause the service manager told me the car would not start) after these other parts were allegedly installed; a computer chip (***?) would be needed. I was informed by the Service Manager at Toyota that they were lookin' on *** salvage yards, amazon etc., for the part 'cause Toyota did not have this part and Toyota would put in a used ***. I researched the *** part and delivery time and it should have taken a week. Toyota tells me as of a week ago that they are still waitin' for the part to be installed. I have asked that my car be returned to me but I am told the part for the vehicle is enroute for delivery and I will be notified when it is installed. I have not heard from Toyota in over a week. As is the Toyota practice they do not update regularly even though I call and call. Eventually someone does reply to me and I am told to wait some more. I am tired of waitin'- I want my car back NOW! Today is October 6. Please advise other potential customers to avoid this Toyota repair shop as it is unprofessional and they do not have knowledgeable mechanics. No STAR rating for Toyota is approved by me (But I was not allowed to submit this review without makin' at least one star-corrupt!)! Toyota owes me a few stars for my perseverance!

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought my 2021 Toyota CHR in July from a local Toyota dealership

I bought my 2021 Toyota CHR in July from a local Toyota dealership. No complaints about the buying experience. But after a month, I noticed the Car Play wasn't staying connected. It would disconnect during phone calls, even though the screen showed I was still on the call. I decided to take it to Bay Ridge Toyota since I couldn't get an appointment at the original dealership. Big mistake. They looked at it and said I needed to use an Apple cable. I was already using one, but I swapped it out anyway. Problem still wasn't fixed. I called Bay Ridge Toyota multiple times, but they kept pushing me around and putting me on hold. Finally, I spoke to Ivy, a call center person, and asked to speak to a manager. She told me to leave my information and someone would call me back. I was frustrated because I had already called several times and gotten no help. Eventually, JD, the Service Manager, told me to bring my car in the next day. I also reached out to Toyota Company, and they opened a case and contacted Bay Ridge Toyota. I spoke to a person in Service Intake, who was a nice guy. He confirmed I should bring the car back the next day. I went back to Bay Ridge Toyota, but they still had no answers about why the Bluetooth and Apple Car Play weren't working in my new car. After spending hours there, they said I had to leave my car there indefinitely while they waited for a master technician to come and help. I didn't want to leave my car there forever, and I asked if they could give me a loaner car in the meantime. Someone told JD, the manager, about my request, but they said they couldn't give me a loaner car. Maybe if I had bought the car from Bay Ridge Toyota, they would have helped more. I thought the car was under warranty, so I could go to any dealership for service. But Bay Ridge Toyota made it clear that because I didn't buy from them, they didn't want to help with my brand new car that I had for only 2 months. I was so frustrated. I called the dealership where I purchased the car and explained the problem. The manager told me to bring the car in on the next business day, and they would work on resolving the issues. I took my car there, and they gave me a loaner car for free. After a few hours, they fixed the software issue, and I picked up my car. They assured me that if the problem continued, I should come back right away, and they would help. I hope it's resolved now. I'm writing this review to highlight the poor service at Bay Ridge Toyota. They're supposed to represent Toyota, but if you didn't buy from them, they don't want to go the extra mile to help. I'll never go back to Bay Ridge, and I won't recommend them to anyone.

Bay Ridge Toyota On 3/2/22, I went to Bayridge Toyota for a power sliding door recall on my 2015 Sienna

On 3/2/22, I went to Bayridge Toyota for a power sliding door recall on my 2015 Sienna. Everything seemed fine the next day when I came to pick up my van. However, I noticed that the backup camera wasn't working, the check engine light was on, and the traction control was lost. The manager assured me they would investigate these issues for free. On the third day, I returned to the shop to collect my car, but to my dismay, it wouldn't start. The manager then informed me that I had to pay them to examine my car. I reminded them that when I brought my car in on 3/2/22, everything was in working order, and now my car was completely dead.

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought a 2019 Toyota Camry from Bay Ridge Toyota on 06/23/2022, but today, on 06/24/2022, the car ain't working

I bought a 2019 Toyota Camry from Bay Ridge Toyota on 06/23/2022, but today, on 06/24/2022, the car ain't working. They lied about the price, and now the car won't start in less than 24 hours. I contacted the dealership, and they said they can't do anything. They won't give me back my old car or a refund. I wanna cancel the deal 'cause the car ain't working, and it's supposed to be certified pre-owned. They also said I got warranty at any dealership, but that's a lie too. Please help me 'cause I paid a lot of money with a certified check, and now I don't have a working car, and they don't care.

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought a new 2020 Toyota Sienna in 2019 from Bay Ridge Toyota @ ***

I bought a new 2020 Toyota Sienna in 2019 from Bay Ridge Toyota @ ***. The car is still under warranty and Bay Ridge Toyota does not wants to honor their warranty. I am a 64 1/2 year disabled widower who is unable to get around without my van. Toyota have had my van since September 16th @ 8:00am and as of today, they still have it and it's not being taken care of. The manager Mr. T. D. @ Bay Ridge Toyota states that the problem with my van is a mobility problem and that I needs to be the one to take it to Mobility. That they don't transfer cars. But when I purchased the car they transfer to their lot but now that the car needs to be repaired they don't transfer. That I'm on my own.

Bay Ridge Toyota I got three letters 'bout some safety issues with my Toyota Corolla

I got three letters 'bout some safety issues with my Toyota Corolla. They say there's a problem with the airbags and seat belt thingy, and also with the paint peeling off. They told me to go to a Toyota dealer to fix it, but when I tried, they said my car ain't in their system and they can't do the paint job. I called again for the airbags, but they turned me down once more.

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought a Toyota RAV4 2020 on 1/**/2020

I bought a Toyota RAV4 2020 on 1//2020. This guy Steve from Toyota made me buy an extended warranty for $4095, even though I didn't want it. I asked for a refund just 3 hours later, but Steve said it was already in the contract and couldn't be removed. He told me to bring him the warranty booklet from the mail so he could start the refund process. I gave him the booklet on 2/*/20 and he said there wouldn't be any penalty. It's been more than 6 months and I still haven't received my refund check. I've called Bay Ridge Toyota many times, but they just keep making excuses.

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought my car from Bayridge Toyota in 2010 or 2018

I bought my car from Bayridge Toyota in 2010 or 2018. I found out there is a recall, so I went to Bayridge Toyota and spoke with the manager at that time. He checked my car and said I'm okay and sent me on my way. He said if I see any damage or cracks, to come back. Everything was good until recently when cracks started to appear. So, I went back to the dealership and spoke with the new manager. He said the enhancement warranty is expired and they cannot help. The defective dashboard is the company's responsibility. It's a manufacturing defect and they are responsible for replacing it as long as I own the car. It's not my fault that I never received a letter to notify me. I just want to replace it. That's all. It's their responsibility.

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought the 2017 Toyota Camry on 7/* for our company

I bought the 2017 Toyota Camry on 7/for our company. I told the financial guy, Jacky, that I didn't want any warranty for the car I bought. He was okay with it. Then, I signed the retail installment contract, which didn't show the warranties on that day. On 7/*, I went back to the office and asked Jacky to find out the costs. He gave me the paper which had $190 insurance gap, $449 theft deterrent system, and Express paint $1000. I didn't agree to buy any of these services initially. Why were these costs still added to the sale price paper? I need these money to be refunded. Additionally, the salesman, Ali, didn't tell me that the 100,000 mile manufacturer warranty needed to be paid for $895. I told his supervisor that I didn't want it and wanted this warranty removed. He said it was already a few days, so he couldn't do it. This was a really bad experience buying a car from this dealer.

Bay Ridge Toyota I bought 3 new cars from Bay Ridge Toyota

I bought 3 new cars from Bay Ridge Toyota. They put an extended warranty on all 3 cars without me knowing. When I traded in the first car for an SUV, the finance manager said he wasn't supposed to tell me or do it, but he would cancel the extended warranty and give me a full refund after I signed the paperwork. Then he said he couldn't do it. So, I called Toyota Motors and they said that's not true. They have to give me a form to sign and I'll get my refund. I emailed the general manager, ***, and he emailed me back. He said he and another guy would look into it and get back to me. It's been over a week and I haven't heard anything from anyone. I have 3 extended warranties, 2 from my trade-ins and 1 on my new purchase. They add up to over $10,000. I never keep a car long enough to use it. I just want what's mine, nothing more, nothing less.

Bay Ridge Toyota On 8/26/22, I got to Bay Ridge Toyota at 7:15 am for my yearly car maintenance oil change for my 2014 Toyota Corolla

On 8/26/22, I got to Bay Ridge Toyota at 7:15 am for my yearly car maintenance oil change for my 2014 Toyota Corolla. I decided to wait for my car like I usually do. About an hour later, a customer service worker brought me into his office and pointed out some other issues with my car. I chose to fix two out of the three problems. The parts cost me: $72.00 for spark plug change (*** per plug, 4 plugs), $16.00 for 2 Brake Shim grease, $8.20 for the oil filter, $31.50 for (GTMO BK SN WTY), $1.53 for the gasket, and $3.27 for washer fluid. I had a coupon for a discount, which I used. The labor cost was $462.50. They returned my car to me after 1PM. The mechanic who worked on my car left it sitting and went for lunch. The customer service person and I searched the garage for him, but he was nowhere to be found. I was then told that he was out to lunch. If my car had been attended to that morning, the job would have taken at least an hour. I am willing to pay for one hour of labor, but not for the time he went to lunch and the personal time he spent on the phone, which I saw earlier that morning. This is not the first time this has happened to me at Bay Ridge Toyota, but I hope it will be the last. They charge $179.00 per hour for labor, and that's what I'm willing to pay, but not for my car just sitting around unattended. The last time this happened, the manager offered me a free oil change when I was charged over $600.00 for the same situation. I won't tolerate being intentionally overcharged, and I'm asking for a refund of $283.00, an apology, and continued reliable service. Please help me, as I don't have money like that to give away. I'm a senior citizen being taken advantage of.

Bay Ridge Toyota I took my car to Bay Ridge Toyota to have the check engine light looked at

I took my car to Bay Ridge Toyota to have the check engine light looked at. They said it would cost around $380 for the inspection if I didn't get the repair done there. Later, a salesman called and said they needed to do a more detailed inspection that would cost an extra $700 if I didn't have them fix it. I agreed. After the inspection, they said it seemed like a serious computer problem, a rare one, and it would cost $5,000 to fix. I wasn't sure what to do, so they told me to think about it over the weekend. I called them back after the weekend and they assured me that the $5,000 repair would solve the problem and the check engine light would go away. They even offered a warranty on the parts. So, I agreed and paid for the repairs in full.

Now, my car has been at their shop for over 3 weeks. It's really hard to get in touch with them, with long wait times on hold and no voicemail for the manager. Finally, the manager called me back today after I left many messages with the receptionist. He said the problem has been fixed and there are no issues with the car, but the check engine light is still on. He said I would need to change the transmission to make the check engine light go away, and it would cost me $3,700 at cost price. I told him there's no way I'm putting more money into the car, especially since he promised me that their best mechanic had thoroughly checked everything and that the check engine light would be fixed after the initial $5,000 quote. He just said they follow error codes, so I asked him about the deeper inspection I paid an extra $700 for. He didn't have much of a response, just said that's all he could do.
