I had a transaction with Bev Smith Toyota on 3.12.2022 and paid $2,000. They promised me a 7-year maintenance plan, but I was wrongly told that it would cover the same duration as my loan and take care of oil changes and car washes. However, when I called the finance manager on Saturday, July 30th to get a car wash, I was informed that they no longer have service retailers and couldn't provide one. I checked my service plan and found out that it only includes 36/15,000 3 services. Paying $2,000 for just 3 oil changes and car washes doesn't make sense.
During the transaction, I had to sign a large iPad in the finance manager's office and was given a thumb drive without any printed paperwork to review what I was signing. I couldn't verify what I had signed until I got home after my first oil change on July 30th and printed my paperwork.
Because of this false information, I am now requesting a full refund of $2,000.

When I went to the finance office, I asked him to explain my monthly payment. He said it was gonna be $548 a month, which was already more than what I was told but I said okay. Then he made me sign papers without givin me time to check em out. He didn't even explain what they were. I don't know much bout buyin cars, and I already talked bout the monthly payments, so I reluctantly signed where he said. But when I looked at my contract later, I saw that my monthly payments were gonna be $621, which we didn't agree on and I can't afford. Especially for a basic car with the highest state interest rate. *** also signed me up for gap insurance, extra warranty, and other stuff we didn't talk bout. That just made my monthly payments and total owed on the car go up. I didn't ask for any of that. I went in today to fix it, but they said they can't do nothin cuz the deal already got funded by the bank. So now I'm stuck with a payment I can't afford and a high interest rate.

I am an elderly black woman who bought a used Toyota Corolla 2020 Sedan less than 2 weeks ago, after trading in another vehicle. I also paid a deposit of *** The auto loan was financed through the dealership's Finance Manager, Mr. *** for a total of *** They changed the final numbers, as the final amount was not what we agreed upon after my trade *** + and the deposit. They told me I can check the documents when I get home because the receipt is on a usb/flash drive. First, the car had mechanical problems after 24 hours, and they refuse to take it back within the legally allowed time. Secondly, they didn't provide the Carfax, which showed the poor condition of the car. To confirm my suspicion, I bought a Carfax report myself. I noticed that this car was the dealership's serviced vehicle for at least 1 year and 6 months. Third, I contacted the Salesman, *** several times through phone and text messages until he finally agreed after 7 days to take the car in for repairs. The same mechanical problems and others came back after 24 hours. Mr. didn't respond to my contact attempts. Fourth, they asked me to bring the car back again for more repairs after I insisted multiple times that the car was defective. I dropped it off today, 11/02. This is the second time in 15 days that I had to return the car. I missed several work days and lost wages because of the car's condition and couldn't drive it. Not only is the car not worth the money, they sold me a DEFECTIVE PRODUCT that they refused to take back. They took no responsibility and were very rude and dismissive. They didn't make any effort to fix the issue or offer solutions, even though it was well within the legally allowed time to cancel the sale specifically for mechanical malfunctions. Anyway, when I got there and talked for a little while, *** said he had a car to show me. A beautiful Toyota *** 2022. He took me outside and showed me the car, and we then took it for a test run as *** showed me all the features. I fell in love with the car and agreed to purchase it as long as I could keep my payments around the same as I was paying. Right now, my car loan is about 459, which I was told would be about the same. In the end, it turned out my payments are going to be ***, but I don't have to make the 1st payment till Aug 28th. I did give them $500 down, which would cover the payment I had on my current loan that was due May 29th. I was ok with all that. After being there for almost 4 hours, doing all the finance paperwork and insurance information, I was ready to drive away and off I went. As I was driving home, something didn't feel right. I can't explain it, but I felt the key that was in the ignition and realized there weren't any buttons on it, just a regular key. When I got to a red light, I called Domonic, the salesperson, and asked about that. He said, "Oh, that car doesn't come with auto locks. You should keep the car for 6 months, make the payments on time, and come back to trade it in for a car that has that feature." I hung up and proceeded on my way home. Once home and talking to friends and family, everyone agreed this isn't right. Everyone I spoke to couldn't believe there are cars out there that you have to put the key in the door. It's like buying a TV and realizing there is no remote control. As a woman, I feel this is totally unsafe for many reasons. I am running out of space here, but what happened is I took the car to a lock place that Toyota deals with and had to pay $250 for them to put in auto lock. Toyota said they won't pay for this, and I want them to.
