Charged for two subscriptions, when they were supposed to be free.
I signed up for bizrate & the payment for the 1st survey was 4 magazine subscriptions. Free except for a $ 2.16 payment per magazine subscription. My bank acct for these was Aug 5 2021. 8/18-21 I was charged $17.28, which was quickly refunded. On 8/21-21 I was charged $18.34, again quickly refunded. On 8/24-21 I was charged $20.52 & $23.76. I was told it would be refunded, but it wasn't. I am so angry about this. I'm on a limited income & can't afford these charges. Please rectify.
Desired outcome: Refund
Surveys
I signed up to take the Bizrate surveys and once I reached 1, 650 points every survey came back that I was not a good fit for the survey. Of course, this is after I had already answered questions that could be used in the survey - such as brand preferences or brand knowledge. They have been promising me a $100.00 gift certificate for months as soon as I reach a certain point level. Their emails always start with an offer to do a survey with 1000 plus points, but after a few questions they tell me that survey isn't available but I can take one of 250 points and as stated above as soon as I answer all their questions, I'm told I don't qualify for the survey. I'm calling BS on this. They use the answers, but offer nothing in return.
Desired outcome: $100.00 credit to Amazon as promised.
magazine subscription scam
I fell for their free magazine offer "up to 6 free magazines just pay $2 shipping fee" . I called last September & told them to cancel the subscription, they sent me another bill this week. I called again & told them to cancel the subscriptions I don't want any thing & I'm not paying anything. They tried to convince me to keep getting them for another $2 & I told them again NO. Supposedly they have cancelled all of them but considering that's what I was told last year I have my doubts.

wayfair.com
I ordered a tablecloth from Wayfair, and paid extra to get expedited shipping. They gave me a delivery date of Nov. 16. On Nov. 17, I called to tell them it hadn't come. They said they would get it out on the following Monday, Nov. 19, they would call to confirm, and it would be delivered Nov. 20. On Nov. 20, I called again and asked them where the tablecloth was. Then they said it would be shipped out that day and I would get it Nov. 21, and they would email me. No email, no tablecloth, so I l called and cancelled the order. THAT email confirmation I got! I'll never order from them again.
price is per month not per year!!!
I placed an order online (nothing unusual). A pop up came up for me to complete a survey and receive a gift. So, I did!
After completing the survey, (Wow!) I could choose up to four magazines for $1 each.
Upon checking my credit card statements, I was charged for August and September.
"David" at customer service states it's $1 per month per magazine!
That information was not disclosed when I placed the order. I did note that I would have to reach out to cancel in one year and wrote the website address and telephone number down. Thankfully...
"David" states he has cancelled my order and I will be refunded for the magazines that I have not received. I know I've received 2, maybe a 3rd one but not 8!
I'll be watching my credit card statement.
This is a scam.
female underwear didn't order and silver ring with blue diamond size 8 that I didn't order.
They tell me I can't send the items back, or exchange the item for something else. I need wish address so I can send these items back. And I had ordered a pink women's casual checkers faux leather watch, it came to me all broken up. And I ordered a white watch with a bracelet I didn't get the bracelet and the watch want even work. They are horrible sales people.
unethical behavior by unbeatable sales
Unbeatable Sales, a vendor in the Newegg Marketplace, among others, lists itself as a company highly rated for customer service as well as great prices. However, their customer service rating is not even 60%, and is repeatedly given the lowest possible ranking. from jan 25 to mar 3, 2018, I have been attempting to order a Confer Plastics PES1X stairs for my mother's therapy pool. Since the picture displayed in the Unbeatable Sales ad did not match the product number, I needed to inquire as to what was actually being sold. I sent four emails, none of which were answered. I had a Newegg rep send an email on my behalf. This too was ignored. I called and left three messages, which went unanswered, until, on 2/15, I finally got a live body. He assured me that the product was the one I wanted and that the price and shipping charges listed in the advertisement were accurate, so I place the order. When the product did not arrive as expected, I checked for a tracking number, only to find that an automatic message, sent through Newegg, informed me that the seller had cancelled my order! Then began the epic journey to find out why! I called EVERY DAY and left a message asking why they had cancelled the order without informing me and what could be done. I received no answer. I finally got lucky. I called on a Saturday, when Unbeatable Sales offices are "closed", and got a phone rep from the company that covers them on the weekends. She looked up my order and found that they had cancelled it because they realized that they couldn't ship the item for the $15.99 advertised. Instead, shipping would be over $200!
I suppose I should be grateful they cancelled the order instead of charging me this outrageous amount, but the fact that all of this was done without any attempt to contact me, no attempt at even the basic courtesy of returning my calls and emails, and that they did not know their product well enough to correctly advertise them or calculate their shipping smacks of either a seat-of-the-pants organization, or a total scammer. Certainly NOT a company who puts any priority on customer service!
Hello,
I do want to apologize for the trouble you had with one of our marketplace vendors on our website. I would like to further investigate this for you, would you be able to send me a message with your order information referencing your experience?
Thank you,
Louis [Newegg Support]
$100 complimentary reward
Made a purchase at spirithalloween.com and was asked to complete a survey for a $100 reward which I thought was for spirit Halloween. Would have been nice to know the $100 reward was a magazine subscription I can't even have because I live in Canada! When trying to complete magazine order it does not let me choose Canada or enter postal code instead of zip code!Thought I was doing survey for a spirit Halloween gift card! ! Very misleading! Will never complete one of these surveys again!
hairthirst.com online site for hair products
I have attempted to reach hairthirst.com since I placed my order on Dec. 14. The funds were removed from my acct. On Dec 15. I never received a confirmation email, an email that my item was being processed, or any shipping confirmation. They have my email address as I have attempted contacting them several times at the email they provide on their website and FB page. I also messaged on fb...NO REPLY... they have at least 3 different emails, 2 of them are invalid. Any time I call customer service the number is busy. They say they will respond to emails within 24 hours. It has been 2 WEEKS and still no reply. I just want to know the status of my order. Is this A SCAM? Is this how you run a business and how you treat your customers? SO WHERE IS THE PROOF THAT MY ORDER HAS BEEN PROCESSED?
Do not buy from them, they take your money and never ship your product or respond to your messages. They are a scam! Thank goodness I bought the item thru pay pal so I can hopefully get my money back.
My experience also.
Rip off
It's a huge rip-off and one of the biggest lies on the internet. Be careful and don't fall for their sweet promises.
And they promise a lot. They say you will get a huge award if you fill out a survey, but in fact, after you do this, you will get some kind of junk - coupons, discounts, credits... and 1-5 dollars, it depends. Not to mention, that you will spend about 30-40 minutes of your life on filling the survey out. Your time costs more expensive, so you decide whether you need it or not.
magazine subscription
In around March 2016 I answered a survey and was offered four, one year magazine subscriptions for $2 per year. Everything is fine for about a year. It automatically renews in April 2017 for another year as reflected on the expiration date on each of the ensuing magazines I receive. Six months later in October 2017 I get the same subscription charges showing on my credit card statement. I call the third party company that is responsible for Bizrate's customer service (Synapse) and am told that I had automatically renewed for a six month subscription (at the yearly rate, i.e. double the cost of a regular subscription). They also informed me that I should have received notification of the change (which I didn't) and were quick to apologize for me not having received the notification (even before I told them that I had not received the notification, indicating to me that this is their modus operandi of their scam).
This is clearly a scam! They illegitimately change the terms of the agreement without notification, without ever noting those changes in any ensuing communication (such as the subscription expiration dates on magazine covers) in the hopes that the consumer will not notice and/or question the charges as they are all smaller amounts in the $20 range.
survey magazine renewal - customer care line
Last year I had filled out a survey after completing an online purchase, It was a bit misleading with a promise of "$100 reward" when instead it was "$100 worth of magazine subscriptions". Whatever, it's the internet. I'll take my free magazines and be on my way (Better Homes and Gardens is Legit, I don't care who you are). HOWEVER, I didn't realize that somewhere in the process they received my debit card information, and just this month RENEWED all of the magazine subscriptions at full price, and my guess is that they would continue to do so every month -I had moved in the last year, completely forgetting about these magazines since I wasn't receiving them anymore-. I called the company I filled the survey out for to see if they could do anything, initially they thought they could help, but then apologetically called back stating they could only get me the name of the survey company- Bizrate. No phone number, no email contact. Long story short, I scoured the internet and finally found a facebook reply where they gave someone there customer service line: [protected]. If you're in the same boat I was, give them a call. You should have a code on your bank statement starting with the letters "TME" that will help them locate your order and cancel it. It's not a hard process as long as you're polite to whoever picks up the phone, finding the phone number is a huge pain in the butt though. Hope this helps someone!
survey rewards
If you ever get the opportunity to fill out a survey after a purchase online, don't bother! A $100 reward is not a bunch of magazines that you end up paying for anyway. A $100 reward should be just that. 100 dollars cash or gift card. Just a note to any companies that use this survey company, I will not purchase from your company in the future. This comment is to Bizrate rewards, "Do not waste consumers valuable time with this bait and switch tactic. If you are going to continue to use magazines for the reward, make sure the consumer knows this before completing the survey"!
Horrible
Me and my friend ordered from this site www.bizrate.com and we both did not receive anything and lost our money. After all that we went online and checked the reviews and were shocked. This website Bizrate is a 100% scam! Do not order anything from them because you will lose your money and I can guarantee that. There is no way to reach customer service and they ignored both of us.
BOGUS CO. DON'T BUY ANYTHING
Given a phone #[protected]. That they say 'has been disconnected temporarily' or 'all circuits are busy, please try again later' But of course, no one is EVER available. Cannot cancel the 'continuous service' and we are charging you MORE MONEY now.
BAD BAD BAD ...they say I can get a refund, but how do I do it if they never pick up their phone?
Joke service
I tried to order online from Apex a motorcycle battery. BizRate popped a window up at the very beginning with a survey asking how I felt about Apex. How would I know? I had never dealt (and never will again) with Apex. I couldn't get past the survey to order until I filled out their worthless survey. Apex lies about shipping the next day. It's been three weeks now and I'm told it will be another month. I asked for my money back and all they will do is give me a credit on my account. I'll never deal with these idiots again. What good is a credit?
automatic renewal of mag subscriptions
After contacting my bank for info regarding 3 overpriced, unwanted, never requested magazine subscritions (the bank will follow up as needed), I contacted the magazine publishers subscriptions departments, then the company that actually processed them, and THEN finally learned that BizRate was the "outfit" that had sent me complimentary subscriptions for answering a survey; these subscriptions expired, and thenBizRate had authorized automatic renewal at the FULL PRICE for another year for all 3, without notifying me that the subscription was due for renewal. According to the subscription processing company (Synapsse.inc [protected]) BizRate claims that the "customer" has to cancel the free subscriptions or they will be automatically be renewed & billed. The "billing company: has agreed to cancel all 3 and refund the monies debited from my account (over $100.00); I have cinfirmation #s and names; will check with my ban on Monday, and also share these details. Bottom Line here: BIZRATE is a ripoff internet website; cannot be trusted, uses very sneaky methods to scam or con people into replying to what appear to be helpful surveys, "rewarding" them and then setting them up to be "fleeced". I have heard negatives about BizRate previously; i will now make sure I NEVER do anything with anyone connected to BizRate again, and will make sure eveeryone i know, or do business with is also warned.--the "bizness" is disgraceful. Am trying to contact someone with the company directly, but am not holding my breath...people using online services need to be VERY AWARE of scams like BizRate attempt to run...

Using this information, I was able to cancel all of my subscriptions as well. Thank you!
Hi can you please tell me how you cancelled your subscription, i want to get out of this.
Bizrate had another company, Synapse, take money out of my bank account to pay for two magazine subscriptions I never ordered but they claimed I did. Synapse claimed I ordered two magazines from Bizrate, ( they have no info or phone numbers or addresses from Bizrate)for 2 dollars each for one year and after that I authorized through electronic authorization to keep receiving these magazines indefinitely for $29.00 and $35.00 annually for the rest of my life until I cancel. Supposedly they sent me a blue postcard informing me of this agreement I made on line. Synapse quickly agreed to refund all monies when I asked for proof of this contract and information on Bizrate. This whole thing is a scam. Stay away from Bizrate and their website
Bad service
I ordered a chair from you and it arrived with a broken part. What ensued was e-mails sometimes answered after a few days, sometimes not. After more than a month the situation seems resolved. Most of my correspondence was with Andre Bernard, some w. chat. I don't know if Andre is overworked, incompetent, in need of training or what, but an e-mail or two telling me what was going on would have shortened or eliminated my annoyance. I am a long time satisfied customer with Sierra Trading Post, and perhaps they could help. But I am unlikely to ever become your customer again.
Other sites such as resellerratings.com gives Accessories4less 4 out of 10 score. Too big a difference from ratings on Bizrate Customer Certified to have confidence in Bizrate and it's customer certified rating.
Misrepresentation
The best way to tell these guys are lying is to read anything they put on their website. If one of their providers says in stock ready to ship its a lie. If one says, free shipping, its a lie. If one says easy returns, its a lie. I have twice used this company's website to buy something and been ripped off. I have complained through their survey about the poor, no nonexistent, service I have gotten. BEWARE - don't fall for anything their selling because it is a bunch of BS.

missrepresentation
I made a purchase from Absolute Bird Control, Inc on 6 Apr 2010; at the end of my purchase was this : " Please take a moment to rate your shopping experience at Absolute Bird Control and you'll receive a Special Thank You valued at $100, just $2 for processing . I thought something might be suspicious here so I began to back track to undo the questions I...
