Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: A Skeptic's Journey to Fun and Flavorful Cooking

So, I gotta say, I was a bit skeptical about Blue Apron at first. I mean, I was only in it for the free box, you know? But then something funny happened - I actually had fun cooking the meals! And let me tell you, I was using ingredients I'd never even heard of before. Like this oolek sambal stuff? Never heard of it. But man, it made my stir fry game so much more interesting. And don't even get me started on the lemongrass. Loved it.

Anyway, I decided to keep going with Blue Apron, but only every other weekend. It's just me and my husband at home now, and I tend to cook like I'm feeding an army. Which means we end up with a lot of leftovers. And let's be real, I end up throwing out a lot of food. So I figured, hey, why not give Blue Apron a shot? I don't have to go to the grocery store, and I'm pretty sure it's cheaper than what I've been doing. Plus, I'm just tired of making the same old meals I've been making for the past 20 years.

And you know what? I love it. I really do. And let me tell you, it's complete BS that Blue Apron isn't enough food. My husband played college football and I'm no lightweight myself, and we've never had a problem with the portion sizes. So yeah, I'm giving Blue Apron a big thumbs up.

One thing I will say, though - when the box arrives, I make sure to get out three Pyrex dishes and sort the ingredients. I've heard that other meal kit services put everything together for you, which would be nice, but it's not a big deal to just use the recipe cards and sort everything out myself. And let me tell you, it's a lot easier than trying to figure out what goes where after the fact. Trust me, I learned that the hard way.

So yeah, if you're on the fence about Blue Apron, I say go for it. It's been a lot of fun for me, and I've learned a lot about cooking in the process. And hey, if you're like me and tend to overcook, it might actually save you some money in the long run. Give it a shot and have fun with it!

Blue Apron Disappointing Experience with Blue Apron: Poor Quality, Small Portions, and High Prices

I was really excited to give Blue Apron a try, but I have to say, my first two boxes left me feeling pretty disappointed. The food I received wasn't exactly fresh, and even though there were ice packs in the box, it didn't seem like they were doing much to keep things cold. In fact, everything had completely defrosted by the time I got my hands on the boxes, and the chicken that was near the ice packs had leaked juices all over the place. Yuck!

To make matters worse, some of the produce I received was pretty sad-looking. The grape tomatoes were soft and squishy, and the peppers were all wrinkled up. And don't even get me started on the tilapia - it was farm-raised, which isn't really my thing. I was hoping for wild-caught, but no such luck.

But the real kicker for me was the portion sizes. Now, I'm not saying that small portions are necessarily a bad thing - especially if you're trying to watch your weight. But these portions were seriously tiny. On the website, the plates look super full, but in reality, they're more like small sandwich plates. And when you consider the fact that the calorie counts for these small portions are still pretty high, it's hard to see how Blue Apron could be a good choice for anyone trying to eat healthy.

All in all, I felt like I was paying a premium price for food that wasn't all that great. I even had to supplement my meals with extra veggies just to make them feel more filling and nutritious. And while the taste was okay, it definitely wasn't good enough to justify the cost or the effort of cooking the meals myself.

Blue Apron Disappointed with Blue Apron: Frozen Meat, Brown Cabbage, and Dented Cans

I decided to give Blue Apron a try after hearing so many people talk about it. I thought it would be a great way to cook a meal for my family and make sure it was healthy at the same time. I was really excited to see what I would get in my first order! However, when my box arrived, I was really disappointed. It looked like it had been kicked around and thrown from the curb to my door! I even took pictures of it to show Blue Apron because I was sure no one would believe that a box could be delivered in such a condition! The items inside were okay, but one of the cans of beans was dented. I threw it out because I had always heard that you shouldn't use dented cans. Instead, I used my own can of beans.

When I started to open the packages that were in good condition, I realized that the meat was frozen. I had to wait a whole day for it to thaw! The recipe I was making was for BBQ chicken "burgers" with coleslaw and potato crisps. Unfortunately, the cabbage was half brown, so I didn't use it. The potato was okay, as was the chicken, but overall, I didn't think the cost was worth it. They give you tiny individual packets of spices and ingredients, and it's actually cheaper to buy your own ingredients and make the recipes yourself. My family liked the chicken, but it was very expensive and not worth it in my opinion. The food didn't seem very fresh either, especially the brown cabbage.

I only tried Blue Apron once, and I wouldn't try it again. I could just download recipes and make my own meals. The food wasn't packed very well in the box, which is why the can of beans was dented, and it didn't seem as fresh as I would have expected. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Blue Apron.

Blue Apron Blue Apron: Quality Grub and Stellar Customer Service

I just gotta say, BLUE APRON is the real deal when it comes to quality grub and customer service. My homie sent me a trial meal, but it took me a hot minute to get it before Thanksgiving. I was a bit confused about how to cancel or keep the subscription going, but I ended up with way too much food for the holiday and a Blue Apron meal for two.

Then, I got charged for a second delivery before I even had a chance to cook up the first meal. It was getting overwhelming, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to stick with Blue Apron. But, I hit up customer service, and they responded to me ASAP. Not only did they refund the charge for the second box, but the delivery still came through as planned.

The way they handled the situation was so professional and understanding. It was a breath of fresh air to see a company care about their customers like that. If and when I decide to join Blue Apron, I know I'll be in good hands.

It's rare to see this kind of service online, so big ups to Blue Apron. I can't wait to have the time to dive into their imaginative menus and become a long-term customer.

Much love and thanks,

Audrey Wells

Blue Apron Disappointing Experience with Blue Apron: Damaged Items, Late Delivery, and Poor Customer Service

I've been a Blue Apron customer for over a year now, and I have to say, I'm not impressed. While the recipes are easy to follow and the food is of decent quality, there have been a few issues that have really turned me off from this service.

First of all, I've had multiple boxes arrive with damaged items. Whether it's leaking containers or produce that's gone bad, it's frustrating to have to deal with these issues when I'm trying to cook a meal. And then there was the time when my box was delayed in transit for 36 hours, supposedly due to local weather conditions. I was in that city that day, and there was no weather delay. When the box finally arrived, the meats were at 57F, which is outside of the safe zone. It took three email chains before Blue Apron would even refund my money for the late delivery and spoiled goods.

But the final straw for me was when I ordered a gift card for Christmas. The website stated that it was "Guaranteed to be shipped by 12/9/16" with a 5-7 business day shipping. This would have allowed me to receive the card before leaving town to visit my family. However, the card didn't ship until 12/20/2016, and with the 5-7 business day shipping, it was projected to arrive late. When I contacted Blue Apron on 12/10, I was told it would ship prior to 12/15, but it didn't. I asked to cancel the order or switch it to an e-gift card, but was told I couldn't do either. I'm not sure what the guarantee was supposed to be, but I certainly didn't get what I paid for.

Overall, I'm not happy with Blue Apron's customer service or their ability to deliver quality products. While I've tried a few other meal kit companies and found them to be similar in terms of food quality and recipe ease, I'm now moving on to Home Chef. I wouldn't recommend Blue Apron to anyone.

Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: Fresh Food, Simple Meals, High Cost

My experience with Blue Apron was a bit of a mixed bag. While the food was always fresh and could last for a few days in the fridge, I found that the taste was a bit lacking. The meals were easy to cook, but they were also a bit too simple for my liking. As someone who enjoys cooking, I found that I needed to add more spices and seasoning to make the food taste better.

One of the biggest drawbacks of Blue Apron is the cost. While the convenience of having meals delivered to your door is nice, it can be quite expensive. For two meals a week, you can expect to pay upwards of $50, and that's just for dinner. When you factor in the cost of groceries for the rest of the week, Blue Apron doesn't seem like the most budget-friendly option.

Another issue I had with Blue Apron was the recipe cards. While they were generally helpful, they could be a bit hard to follow at times. The instructions often required you to do multiple tasks at once, which can be challenging even for experienced home cooks. Additionally, there was a lot of assumption that you knew how to chop vegetables properly and add the right spices. In comparison, other meal delivery services like Plated have recipe cards with helpful tips that instruct you how to do every single step, no matter how small.

Overall, I think Blue Apron is a decent option for those who are short on time and don't mind paying a premium for convenience. However, if you enjoy cooking and want more control over the taste of your meals, you may want to look elsewhere.

Blue Apron Mixed Experience with Blue Apron: Quality Decline and Safety Concerns

I used Blue Apron for three months and at first, I was impressed with the quality of the products and the variety of options available. However, after the first month, I noticed a decline in the quality of the produce. I found insects in the snow peas and the peas were chewed up in parts. The peppers had mold on them and parts of the pepper were liquified. The scallions were translucent and soggy, and the zucchini was very soggy. My friend, who also used the service for the same time period, had an even worse experience. She found a dead lizard in her produce and a portion of another dead lizard when she started to chop up the bok choy.

The tomatoes were cracked and soggy, and when I notified the company and sent photos, they informed me that this happens with fresh produce. While they did give me a credit of $24, I was more concerned about the safety of the food. The side dishes were generous, but the protein portions were on the small side. I ended up purchasing fresh produce and more chicken to prepare a full meal for two people. Despite the small portion size, the quality of the meat, chicken, and shrimp was good. However, the other seafood, such as Alaskan pollock, was not so good and had a fishy taste.

The recipes were interesting and varied, and my husband enjoyed the meals because of the red pepper, hot sauce, and spiciness. If it weren't for the scary produce, I probably would have continued with this program. However, after three months, I was a little uneasy about what I might find when I opened up the box. Perhaps it was just bad luck for me and my friend, but it is interesting that we both had the same negative experience.

Overall, I like the idea of preparing and cooking fresh meals, so I am planning to try a different company. While Blue Apron has its positives, the decline in produce quality and the safety concerns make me hesitant to continue using their service.

Blue Apron Blue Apron and FedEx: A Recipe for Disaster - My Experience with Delivery and Customer Service

I recently signed up for Blue Apron and received my first package, which arrived barely on ice and with chicken inside. The second package, however, never arrived. I contacted Blue Apron and explained that I have a RING Camera system and am home all day, every day, and that the package was delivered to someone else's door. The customer service representative told me that I couldn't receive a refund until FedEx had a chance to correct the issue, which wouldn't be until 9pm. This was frustrating, as I live in sunny Florida and the temperatures were in the upper 80s that day. I explained that FedEx had sent a photo of my package sitting in the sun in front of someone else's door, and that there was no way to fix this issue. I wondered if the same thing had happened with my first box, which had also arrived barely on ice.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was connected with someone who was not very friendly. I decided to cancel my membership and requested a credit for the day's delivery. If FedEx attempted to bring the box to me after it had been sitting in the sun all day, I would promptly return it to a FedEx facility. It's not pleasant to imagine a box of food sitting outside in the heat with chicken inside, as even the wildlife would avoid it due to the smell.

I think that Blue Apron should partner with a better delivery company, as it seems that FedEx simply hires people with valid driver's licenses. This is not saying much these days, as licenses are given out like candy. Both Blue Apron and FedEx deserve to lose customers if they can't provide better service. I'm glad that I'm closer to the exit than the entry, and I hope that these companies can improve their service for the sake of their customers. In the meantime, I recommend going to the grocery store instead of risking where your Blue Apron box may end up.

Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: Unique Flavors, Fresh Ingredients, and Well-Organized Delivery

Me and my partner decided to give Blue Apron a try after receiving a free week gift from a relative. We've been using it for around 4 months now, receiving three meals a week for two people, which means we've had about 50 meals so far. I'm honestly surprised by all the negative reviews I've seen online. We've never had any issues with delivery, and everything has always arrived fresh and well-packaged. The cold items are always at the bottom, near the "ice" packet, and there's a cardboard separator for the veggies and other items on top. Each recipe comes with a little paper bag containing all the necessary "knick knacks" that are labeled and ready to use. Each recipe also has its own spice packet and other ingredients like vinegar. I've seen some people complaining that their items weren't sorted or labeled, but I can't imagine that being the case. It's all very well done.

In terms of the amount of food, it's definitely enough for two nice sized, if not large-ish, meals. We often have some leftovers, which is great for lunch the next day. The recipes have been fantastic. They're all extremely well seasoned with unique flavors. We've only had a few meals where we thought, "That was just okay; I don't think I'd make it again." Most of the time, we're saying, "Keep that recipe card; I want to make that again." We've never had a truly bad tasting meal. Of course, this might depend on your choices. When you sign up, you can opt out of certain ingredients or mark for allergies and such. We only selected no seafood and no walnuts. We get a nice variety of recipes, many with ethnic flavors! I'm trying so many different types of food as a result of joining, which is a good thing in my book. The ingredients themselves aren't unusual, but the seasoning profiles are unique. For example, we've had Morrocan-spiced beef, Cajun chicken thighs, and Taiwanese chicken tenders, and the seasonings reflect those ethnic flavor profiles. Almost all recipes come with a nice sauce as a condiment too.

I do know that my mother and her husband signed up and opted out of all kinds of ingredients, and they're not very happy with their recipes. In my mind, I think, "Well, you didn't leave them with much..." But I also know that they have very plain tastes and aren't particularly adventurous. So if you like bland food and are afraid to try new flavors, maybe Blue Apron isn't for you. Or maybe everyone is just grouchy. Either way, I highly recommend giving Blue Apron a try. It's been a great experience for us, and we plan on continuing to use it for the foreseeable future.

Blue Apron Blue Apron's Delivery Issues: A Frustrating Experience for a Loyal Customer

I've been a loyal customer of Blue Apron for over five years now, but I'm sad to say that I'm finally at my wit's end with their service. I've recommended Blue Apron to countless friends, but lately, I've been experiencing a lot of issues with my deliveries. It seems like every other week, my box doesn't show up on the expected delivery date. At first, I thought it might be a problem with my zip code or my local post office, but my friends who live in the same area have never had any issues receiving their boxes.

I'm an avid online shopper, and I've never had any problems receiving packages from other retailers like Amazon. So, it's frustrating to deal with Blue Apron's constant excuses and explanations that don't make any sense. Every time my box doesn't show up, I have to go through the hassle of contacting customer service and requesting a refund. And while I appreciate that they always credit my account, it's not a real solution to the problem.

One time, I was so frustrated that I had to ask for an additional discount, and they ended up sending me two free boxes. While it was a nice gesture, I'd much rather have my boxes show up on time. After all, the whole point of Blue Apron is to make meal planning and cooking more convenient. When my box doesn't show up, it throws off my entire schedule, and I have to scramble to figure out what to make for dinner.

Blue Apron always blames their shipping partners for the issues, but I've had two different companies handle my deliveries, and the problems persist. I've lived in the same place for almost a decade, and I've never had any issues receiving packages before. So, it's clear that the problem lies with Blue Apron.

Just this week, I received an email saying that my box was on its way, but then I got another email from a supervisor saying that a storm was to blame for the delay. It's frustrating to hear the same excuses over and over again, especially when I know that my friends are receiving their boxes without any issues.

I'm considering taking my complaints to social media in the hopes of getting a resolution to this ongoing problem. I've been a loyal customer for years, and I don't want to have to cancel my subscription, but if things don't improve soon, I may have no choice.

Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: Decent Food, Terrible Customer Service and Policies

I gotta say, I tried Blue Apron and it was just okay. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. But let me tell you, I had a real bad time with the company itself. They seem to be all about taking your money any way they can.

I had a few orders where ingredients were missing, and when I reached out to them, they only offered a measly $5 credit to my account. Like, come on, that's not gonna make up for half a meal missing when you're already paying $60 for the whole box.

And don't even get me started on trying to cancel an order. They make it so dang difficult. According to their terms, you can't cancel an upcoming order if it's already been processed or shipped. But when I went to cancel, my order said it was "processing," which I thought meant it hadn't been processed yet. Nope, apparently in Blue Apron's world, "processing" means it's already been processed. What a load of baloney.

I've tried emailing and calling them, but no one seems to want to help me out. It feels like they're just trying to steal my money. I wouldn't recommend Blue Apron to anyone, to be honest.

Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: Beware of Hidden Charges and Subscription Confusion

If you're considering trying out Blue Apron, there are a few things you should know before you sign up. First of all, their free first delivery isn't actually free unless you cancel before you receive it. It's important to understand this so you don't end up with unexpected charges on your credit card.

I recently received my first free delivery from Blue Apron and was charged $60 just a few days later. When I called to ask them to stop the second delivery until I had a chance to try out the first one, I was told that I needed to notify them six days in advance if I wanted to skip or cancel a delivery. This seemed unreasonable to me, as I hadn't even had a chance to try the first meal they sent me.

So, my advice to anyone considering Blue Apron is to be proactive about canceling or skipping deliveries. If you're not sure whether you want to continue receiving products from them, it's better to cancel or skip before you receive your first delivery. That way, you won't be charged unexpectedly and you'll have more control over your subscription.

Overall, I think Blue Apron is a good service for people who want to try new recipes and learn more about cooking. However, their subscription model can be a bit confusing and it's important to read the fine print before you sign up. If you're willing to put in the effort to manage your subscription, though, I think you'll enjoy the meals and the convenience of having ingredients delivered to your door.

Blue Apron Disappointed with Blue Apron: Bad Produce, Long Prep Time, and Filling Issues

Got Blue Apron for my birthday and was curious about the whole thing. Got a package with recipes and ingredients for 3 meals. Found a moldy garlic, a red pepper with a rotten end, a squishy cucumber, and a tiny endive with rotten tips. I cancelled my account and told customer service about the bad veggies. They offered a $19.98 credit, but only if I ordered more food! I don't want more food, just want compensation for the bad produce! At their price, I expect good produce. The meals were supposed to feed 2, but I had to add big green salads I made from my own ingredients to fill up my husband. The prep time on the instruction card is a joke - each dinner took me at least twice as long to prepare, and I'm no kitchen novice!

I was excited to try Blue Apron, but was disappointed with the quality of the produce. I understand that things can go bad, but I expected better from a company that charges a premium price. The meals were supposed to feed two people, but we had to supplement with our own ingredients to feel full. The prep time was also much longer than advertised, which was frustrating.

When I contacted customer service about the bad produce, they offered a credit, but only if I ordered more food. I didn't want to order more food, I just wanted compensation for the bad produce. It was frustrating that they wouldn't offer a credit without making me order more food.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Blue Apron. The quality of the produce was sub-par and the meals didn't fill us up. The prep time was also much longer than advertised. I was disappointed with my experience and won't be ordering from them again.

Blue Apron Deceitful and Disappointing: My Experience with Blue Apron's WW Meals

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with Blue Apron. I thought I was making a healthy choice by signing up for their WW meals, but boy was I wrong. When I got my first order and looked at the nutritional info, I was shocked. Sure, there was some protein in there, but the amount of carbs and sugars was through the roof!

Take the Beef Vegetable Stir Fry with veggies, for example. That bad boy had 34g of carbs and 18 sugars per serving! And don't even get me started on the Italian Chicken & Vegetable Skillet with cheese - 32g of carbs and 19 sugars per serving! And the Mediterranean chickpea grain with carrots? A whopping 101g of carbs per serving and 22 sugars to boot!

I mean, I could eat two whole pizzas and a 2-liter of Pepsi for that kind of carb and sugar overload! What's even more frustrating is that when I called Blue Apron to ask about it, they had no idea what I was talking about and just passed the buck to WW. But when I called WW, they were just as clueless and told me to call Blue Apron. It's like they both know how deceitful these recipes are and are just trying to avoid taking responsibility.

Needless to say, I cancelled my subscription with Blue Apron and switched over to Hello Fresh. Their regular meals are way more reasonable and don't come with all the hidden carbs and sugars. It's just not worth it to me to sacrifice my health for the sake of convenience. And the fact that WW allows their name to be used on these meals is just plain wrong.

Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: Shady Business Practices and Weak Meal Selections

I gotta say, I'm not too sure how Blue Apron is still in business. My first order of three meals arrived on time, but it was a bit of a mess. They package a bunch of smaller items inside a sealed plastic bag, but one of the packages of roasted (with liquid) was open and had spilled everywhere. And get this - the dried pepper package was open too! Both packages were already open when they arrived, not because of the delivery process. Blue Apron gave me a $10 credit, but they didn't seem too concerned about the real issue at hand.

And don't even get me started on the meal choices. The selection each week is pretty weak, and two of the thirteen choices cost a whopping $20 more if you decide to go that route. I mean, come on. That's just ridiculous.

But the real kicker happened just yesterday. I got a notice that my delivery was going to be one day late. I called up Blue Apron to see what was going on, and they told me that the carrier didn't put it on the truck. So I called up OnTrac, the delivery company, to see what was up. And guess what? The package never even left Blue Apron! On Trac closed their case because they don't have a package from Blue Apron to be delivered. I'm currently on hold, waiting to speak to Blue Apron again to see what kind of BS they're going to throw my way this time.

Honestly, this company seems pretty shady to me. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Blue Apron Disappointing Blue Apron Experience: Expired Produce, Missing Ingredients, and Poor Customer Service

I was pretty happy with Blue Apron when I first started using it. The recipes were mostly good, although they do seem to have a thing for cole-slaw as a side dish. If you're not into that kind of thing, you might be a bit disappointed. But then I started getting deliveries where the produce was already going bad after just a day or two. That's not really practical when you're only getting one delivery a week with three meals in it.

My most recent delivery was a disaster. The package of Cod fish was torn when it arrived, and all the liquid leaked out onto the other ingredients. They were all ruined and I couldn't use them. And to make matters worse, some of the ingredients that were supposed to be included for the recipes weren't there at all. It was like they packed ingredients for completely different recipes than the ones I received.

I've tried to get in touch with customer service multiple times to get a refund or credit, but I haven't heard anything back from them. It's really frustrating, especially since I'm paying $60 a week for just three meals. I feel like I'm throwing my money away when the ingredients aren't even usable. I end up having to go to the grocery store to buy replacement ingredients because the produce I get from Blue Apron is already expired or rotten.

I'm canceling my subscription because of all these issues. It's just not worth it to me to keep paying for something that doesn't work. I wish Blue Apron would communicate with me and try to make things right, but it seems like they don't really care about their customers.

Blue Apron Blue Apron: Great Concept, Poor Subscription Model and Gift Card System

I recently came across Blue Apron's website and was immediately drawn in by their beautiful ads on TV. The way they presented their meal kit delivery service made it seem like a fun and homely experience. I was so tempted to try it out that when I received their discounts and gift cards in the mail, I couldn't resist making an order.

However, I was disappointed to find out that there was a minimum purchase requirement that forced me to buy double the amount in order to use the gift card. Additionally, I had to subscribe to their service in order to input my payment information, which I wasn't interested in doing. I didn't mind paying for shipping fees, but the fact that they were luring people into monthly subscriptions was a bit ridiculous.

Despite these issues, I decided to give Blue Apron a chance as a new customer because I thought the concept was cool. Unfortunately, the way they lure people into subscriptions is just really bad. They don't even offer a one-time trial to see how the service is. Furthermore, their gift cards never fully cover the cost of their products, yet they consistently send them to me in the mail. I would be willing to pay for shipping and processing, but I would never pay for a subscription just to use a "gift".

Overall, I think Blue Apron has a great concept and their marketing efforts are impressive. However, their subscription model and gift card system need some work. I hope they can make some changes in the future to make their service more accessible to those who are interested in trying it out without committing to a monthly subscription.

Blue Apron Terrible Experience with Blue Apron: Warm Food and Poor Customer Service

I have to say, my experience with Blue Apron was not a good one. I ordered from them for 5 weeks straight, and every time my food arrived warm. The ice packs were completely defrosted, and while they told me the food was still good as long as it was within 24 hours, my thermometer said otherwise. The meat was at a nice 71 degrees, and the actual boxes were even hotter at 75 degrees. Every item was warm to the touch, and the vegetables were actually HOT. The meat was warm too, which is definitely not safe.

I threw away all the food because I'm not risking my health for some subpar delivery service using FedEx (the worst carrier) to deliver perishable food. When I complained about this, they decided to cancel my account without giving me a refund. Apparently, I complained too many times about receiving a hot box of food. Not to mention the many times the gel ice packs were always exploded in the box and all over the vegetables. They also didn't properly seal any of the meats, so I had boxes full of defrosted meat juice leaking on everything. As any normal person would know, this is a huge health hazard.

This company lost a huge market share, and their stocks are down. And now I know why. Thank you for closing my account, Blue Apron. I disputed with my bank to get my money back. This is a scam $#*! company delivering ecoli-infested food. Stay away. Hello Fresh is much better, and so is Dinnerly.

Blue Apron Blue Apron Review: Good Food, Terrible Delivery System and Customer Service

I've been using Blue Apron for a few months now and I have to say, the food is pretty good. However, the delivery system is a complete disaster. I mean, seriously, more than a dozen times my deliveries were left out in the hot sun on the hot concrete, just waiting to spoil. I tried to give them easy-to-follow instructions on how to avoid this, but they just kept making the same poor delivery choices over and over again. It's like they didn't care about the food or the customers at all.

I sent numerous emails to Blue Apron and the delivery service, but nothing ever changed. They made promises they couldn't keep and I was left with wasted food and a lot of frustration. I had to throw away at least 12 meals because of their complete incompetency and unwillingness to do what needed to be done to solve the problem. It was a complete waste of money and time.

I can't imagine the owners of Blue Apron would be happy if they knew how much money they were losing because of their failed delivery systems and poor customer service. I mean, seriously, if they knew what was going on, they would be furious. It's just not acceptable to treat customers this way.

To be fair, Blue Apron did comp my meals that were trashed, but that didn't solve the problem. In the end, I had to quit using them because they just couldn't get it right. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy. It's just not worth the hassle and headache.

So, if you're thinking about using Blue Apron, good luck to you. I hope and pray you don't have to go through the same headaches I did. But if you do, just remember, you're not alone.

Blue Apron Mixed Experience with Blue Apron: Great Food, Poor Packaging

I recently got the Blue Apron boxes for a few months and it was a great experience for me and my husband. It saved us from the hassle of grocery shopping and meal planning for a few days of the week. My husband even started cooking, which is something he never does. We enjoyed a wider variety of food than we would normally eat, which was a nice change.

However, I had to cancel my subscription because the boxes started arriving less and less cold. I live in the desert, so it's pretty hot in the summer right now. I asked if they could fix this issue or if I should suspend my orders until cooler months arrive. They did credit an order where we had to throw out the meats because they smelled horrible when we opened it. We also had to throw out products like sour cream and creme fraiche because they were always spoiled and separated when we opened them.

But the tipping point was when we received an order with pizza dough in it. The dough had expanded because it was so hot in the box and had exploded out of the packaging. When I reached out to customer service, their response was, "we make sure we package our food so that it arrives cool and at the proper temperature for you." Obviously, that wasn't the case. Since this wasn't my first issue with the ingredients not being cold enough for safe consumption, I was very disappointed with their response.

Despite the issues, I still think Blue Apron is a good service. I just wish they could figure out a way to keep the food cold during shipping, especially for those of us who live in hot climates. I canceled our subscription and will hold off on trying any other box services like this until winter.

Blue Apron Not dependable

They delivered a day late twice. One week after the second delayed delivery, they didn't even send the box to the shipper. Got an email saying it was on the way, but it never came.

I think the customer service is a bot. No personality, canned responses.

Blue Apron missing products

It's 50/50. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they are terrible. It probably depends on definite employees.
I am saying that sometimes you can get deliveries with products missing. Calling and telling them is useless, they won't come again and won't bring you what you need. That would be stupid.
But it's also stupid to be so inattentive.
I want to ask you to make your service better because missing products is not cool, guys.

Blue Apron food arrived late / rotten

Our first (and last) delivery arrived over 24hrs late. It was shipped from Dallas on Thursday AM, didn't arrive til Saturday PM.

All cold packs were warm, the raw fish and chicken meat were warm. We have been having temperatures in the mid 90s. We opened the fish and were greeted with a strong ammonia smell. We had to throw away the meat due to food safety concerns.

I have cancelled my membership and demanded a full refund for the rotten food we received.

Blue Apron Nothing special

We tried Blue Apron meals and were not impressed, pretty average meals and there was nothing special.
We decided to cancel our subscription but that was a pretty hard thing to. We actually cancelled but were still charged and they still sent us meals.
We had to contact them for the second time and control the entire cancellation process.
Blue Apron is highly unprofessional and they simply can't manage anything without additional control from customer's side.
Please, don't waste your time and money, there are better options.

Blue Apron Customer unfriendly business

There is no way to cancel and in my opinion that's a big problem. So if you are planning to order from Blue Apron think again.
I made an order here and due to some financial problems I decided to cancel my order. And when I contacted Blue Apron they replied in a rudely manner and said they don't do refunds. I wasted a lot of time trying to get my order cancelled but everything was useless, there was no way to change their mind.
This business if customer unfriendly and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Blue Apron Unfair payment method

The site itself is very nice and informative. Here you can find lot of useful information about cooking and many great recipes! But better use the free version, because guys are not so honest as you might think. They charged me for who knows what and they actually took my money without my permission! When I contacted customer service and asked them to cancel my subscription, they said that it was not possible, because I have already paid my monthly fee. I told them that I did not want to pay anything and that they stole my money, but they said they did nothing wrong, so I lost my money and my account is still there. I will use Blue Apron till the end of the month and will cancel my account.

Blue Apron Disappointed

I wanted to try something new and decided to try Blue Apron service. So I went online and ordered some meals. They guaranteed the delivery would be on time. Well, several hours later nothing was received, so I contacted their customer service. They called me a liar and said that my order was delivered. Only later I was informed that my order ended up in a different city! I contacted customer support again and they cancelled my order. There was absolutely no help. They never sent my anything else and never refunded me. I'm so disappointed. That was the worst experience I've ere had.

Blue Apron seller hasn't returned my items

I love cooking and baking, and I placed large order on the website www.blueapron.com. The seller confirmed and provided the receipt and some information. Basically, everything was ok until the delivery time. The seller didn’t put all items in the package and didn’t warn me about it. I called to the customer services and asked to deliver the remaining items. The seller excused and told that within 7 days I would get everything. Scam. I got nothing and the seller didn’t reply now.
