poor customer service and food
Not sure where to start
The sad part is this is your RioGrande store.
Customer service:
1. Hostess was beside herself when 8 people showed up at 8:00 PM and wanted to sit together. Tried to seat us in (4) two seats
2. Sever got zero support from the cook to the manager.
3. We had to track down a different server to get 3 coffees.
Food:
1. the server ask if we wanted all at once or as it come out and with 4 kids I agreed to serve as it is prepared
2. The 6 and 7 meals (chicken) came out together and one of the chicken breath was horrible.
3. The 8th chicken never made it. The sever told me it would be 12-15 minutes.
4. We started our departure at this point. We tracked down the manager to get both meals removed. The bad chicken the the meal we never received.
I have been eating at Bob Evans for 25 years.
I have been buying you stock for 20 years.
I am down with both.
carry out quality/accuracy
This is not the first time I have had an issue with his same location where our order was incorrect. This last carry out was on July 13th 2017 and our order total was $31.92. One of our items ordered was chicken pot pie, and when we got it home it was pot roast. My own order had an order of hotcakes which were the worst I have ever seen from a restaurant. It looked like they put hem in with the good side up so you wouldn't see, but the under side was burnt. There was no utensils, no syrup. My hash browns looked like they were just tossed in the skillet really quick and were not even cooked along with my bacon. I literally got a skillet out at home and put the eggs, hashbrowns and bacon back on the stove to cook them. It is very frustrating that you call in a food order to avoid cooking that night and have to settle for a wrong item and rebook others. I will say that the girl that took my order sounded young and giggly like she was having a conversation with someone else and I had her repeat my order. I am attaching pics of those horrible hotcakes. I wish I would have taken pics of the raw potatoes as well.
terrible service
We went to our hometown location in Tiffin Ohio. Waited ten minutes for our seat which is fine but was then sat in between two large parties with children and the noise level was just unpleasant. Once we ordered we waited over 30 minutes and then only received cold banana bread and no silverware or butter. Fifteen minutes later our waitress returns to tell us they're out of what we ordered. I told her we would like to leave and we we're upset with the service. She returned to tell us her manager said we could just go and not pay for our one cup of coffee. As someone who works in restaurants the manager should have come at least apologized for our experience. So we left hungry and unsure we will ever return to this location.

Last night was our fourth and final unsatisfactory visit to Bob Evans. What has happened to the wonderful restaurant we once enjoyed? The trusty caring waitresses have been replaced with a bunch of whispering giggling girls who appear to lack training in giving good service. We fell for this four times and won't be back until things change. Within these four visits, we have been totally ignored by a waitress, told that a new cook was there and didnt' get our food done, received terrible food on another visit...barely fit to eat, told our water glasses would be refilled...they weren't...a waitress disappeared and didn't give us our check..we had to get it at the main counter...you name it, just about anything that could occur has taken place at this Bob Evans. It appears to be a management problem but we aren't sure. We won't be back until we receive word from you that things have changed. We used to eat there a couple times each week. This kind of service is causing you to lose business.

On vacation in Clearwater, Florida. We stopped at the Gulf-To-Bay/S. Belcher Bob Evans #582 location last night around 7pm. We were seated by door greeter and then totally ignored. I had to flag a server down to ask for someone to wait on us, after about five minutes. Today, 7/20/17 at around 1:57pm, we decided to try again. After being greeted by 3+ employees, we were seated and then totally ignored once again! I sat and watched as at least two managers (ladies with blouse type shirts on) stood and talked, not busy and never attempting to care about us or anyone else. After 6+ minutes, I had to go to the counter and ask for someone to wait on us! How long would we have sat there?! A waitress that heard us, just came in heard and came to take care of us. Her name is Erica and she took great care of us! The door greeter was also very pleasant. Had it not been for those two, we would have left! Both times, tables were left for long periods of time with dirty dishes. Thank you to the two ladies.

My husband and I visited the Bob Evans restaurant in Evansville, IN onJuly 4th. Upon arriving we waited for someone to acknowledge us. Finally a guy showed up holding a dirty wet rag in his hand. He acted confused and didn't know what to do about seating us. Finally a girl behind the counter told him to clean a table and seat us. One side of the restaurant was closed. After being seated at a table that was just wiped down, he started to walk away. The waitress ask him to take our drink order. He brought our drinks in "small" glasses. When ask about a larger glass he said he didn't know where they were. It was only his 2nd day on the job. Finally the waitress (Heather) came to greet us and take our order. She apologized for the wait and we were told everyone called in that day and she was the only waitress. There was a manager trying to help as well as trying to keep the kitchen running smoothly. We were told the Districk Manager (Hal) was in the back doing absolutely nothing about the chaos in the dining room. There were numerous tables stacked with dirty dishes and the carpet needed swept. Finally the guy that seated us started clearing tables No dish carrier just carrying dishes back and forth to the kitchen. All tables were either dirty or had customers waiting on their food. We waited 30 minutes for our food and all together from the time we entered to getting our food...1 hr and 45 min. Totally unacceptable and I might add, the restaurant not only was dirty but paint was chipped on the woodwork and the Windows were filthy. Yes, we almost walked out but Heather was so nice and so apologetic we felt bad for her. She was really sweet and never once complained about how hard she was working. The poor thing looked frazzled and worn out. When we were checking out, the girl (Ivy) at the register was told by a manager to help in the dining room by the manager. Her response, "that's not my job". So to sum up our visit, the food was ok, my macaroni was cold and dry. The restaurant was filthy, the DM (Hal) stayed in the back, the manager, bus boy and waitress were working as best and as fast as they could. Like I said, we would have left if it wasn't for Heather our waitress. She deserves some type of recognition for going above and beyond what her duties were. We have visited this Bob Evenas often but we can see over the last few visits it is really in need of some updates and better team players when it comes to staff. Thank you
bob evans mac and cheese
I purchased your Mac and Cheese at our local grocery store and went to open it for dinner one night. When opened, I noticed a corner section of the mac and cheese was moldy. I double checked the expiration date and it was 7/1/17 so it was not expired. I am unsure why it was all moldy? I couldnt use the product, therefore I took a few pictures and threw it away. Me and boyfriend just went to the Kokomo Bob Evans 6/20/17 around 9am, our service waitress was very rude. My boyfriend had a Cubs shirt and hat and our waitress was taking our order and we asked a question and she starting making fun of him (my bf) for being a Cubs fan. At first he was laughing but then she keep taking trash about them and how he will never see a World Series again in his lifetime. We thought it was rude she doesn't know us. We also over heard being rude by joking around with the table right beside us. I think she was trying to be cute and funny but it comes across rude. bob evans family size mac and cheese
We bought the mac and cheese from Food City in Marion Va. When we went to cook it we found out it was molded. The date on it is 7/08/17. Not sure why this is molded hoping its not the whole batch. We buy mac and cheese and mashed potatoes all the time. Was disappointed it was moldy. We bought it on 6/06/17 and went to cook it on 6/19/17. Was kept in refrigerator til cooked. We will be happy with refund or coupons either one. The number after the date if needed is 14:46 KCL2.
We eat Bob Evans Mac and Cheese at least once a week. Lately it has had a metallic taste and after taste to a point where it is no long our favorite. Had the recipe been changed?
Always loved Bob Evans Mac and cheese. Purchased one today at Walmart and I am so disappointed! It is all runny and taste really bad. Looked for a website to email them with no luck.
slow service. managers indifference towards customers
On June 13, 2017 I placed an order of two breakfast plates.
1. Two eggs over medium, hasbrowns, & toast.
Three eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns, toast.
3. A quart of baked potato soup with onions and bacon bits.
All of this was ordered to go. I paid cash for my order and sat down.
15 minty tea later, the waitress that took my order told me that my order was finally ready, but they did not have the soup and she asked if I would like to substitute something else for the soup. I told her "No, I would just take a refund for the soup. She replied that she would have to get the manager. A few minutes went by and the manager showed up. After she refunded someone else for their take out order that wasn't ready after what was claimed to be 30 minutes late. The manager went on to processing other customers who had eaten there and completely ignored me totally! In the mean time, there my food was sacked up for what was now 10 minutes.
As it was clear that this manager was less than concerned about refunding my money and what they did have prepared was getting cold! I took my food and drove home where everything was too cold to be fit to eat and it was thrown out!
I then headed back out and settled for a pizza!
As humorous as this may sound, I was less than amused after I paid good money for nothing more than bad service from a store manager who wouldn't so much as look at me little lone attempt to make it right.

wildfire chicken salad
I picked up lunch for 3 of us at 11:00 am on June 12, 2017. I ordered a Wildfire Chicken Salad as I usually do. The chicken was grilled instead of crispy and it was so fatty. Just about every bite I took I had to spit out the grissel and fat. The quality of this salad needs to improve at a price of $8.99 for the salad. I won't purchase another salad at this price for the quality that I received. Thank you.

Was in your Preston Hwy, Hillview KY restaurant this morning and ordered the Sunshine Skillet meal. According to the menu, an open faced omelet with Bob Evans Sausage, Home Fries, cheese and sausage gravy. I was asked if I wanted white gravy or sausage gravy. I chose the sausage gravy. I did ask if the gravy could be to the side.
When the food arrived I noticed that there was no cheese. Waitress brought cheese upon my request. About a quarter way through the meal I realized that I was not seeing any Bob Evans Sausage. I asked the waitress if the sausage gravy was a substitute for the sausage? Had one waitress say that the Sunshine Skillet did not come with sausage and the other waitress say she thought it did.
Looking at the Bob Evans website it states 8oz of Bob Evans Sausage. Looking at the menu, it also states the meal comes with sausage.
I have ordered this meal in the past and remember having sausage included.
I am disappointed that my meal was short changed and even after inquiring the sausage was not added/included. I did not finish leaving more than half the meal. At this point you are asking for what I want to resolve this issue. At this point in time I am unclear as to whether or not the Sunshine Skillet comes with sausage or not? If the meal is to include sausage then proper training of employees at this restaurant is required. If the meal is to include sausage then I would want my $8.79 refunded. If neither of these are true than I have not complaint.
We have other restaurants in the area that we can have a nice breakfast meal, it probably will be some time before I chose Bob Evans again.
bob evans family size macaroni and cheese
At approximately ten o'clock pm on saturday, april 29, 2017 I purchased the family size of bob evans macaroni and cheese at the hy-vee in perry< iowa as I often do as it is a favorite in our household. much to my dismay when I removed the outer cardboard covering and looked inside the package it had a huge blob of mold smack dab in the center of the package! it also had a very fowl odor. I am a very loyal customer of many of the bob evans products and was quite disappointed. I immediately called nancy who is the shifts store manager and explained that because it was ten o'clock in the evening and I live several miles away that I wouldn't be able to return it until monday afternoon may 1, 2017. I really enjoy all the bob evans products and hope never to experience another incident like this again. I am disabled and live on a very minimal fixed income and appreciate your quick attention to this matter. thank you in advance to your prompt attention to this matter.
disrespectful staff
I recently dined in at the bob evans in bridgeport, oh. I would first like to say that it started out as a wonderful experience, our server, shay was very nice, she was very knowledgeable of the menu and also offered us some really good suggestions off the menu as we was having trouble choosing from the great selection. The food came out pretty fast and everything was wonderful. About half way through our meal we heard arguing from the back of the kitchen area, and a crew member came out of the doors and walked to one of the computers then walked back toward the back of the kitchen on his way through from what I observed it looked as if he accidentally knocked something off of a cart sitting in the middle of the walk area. And another server, a young girl with blonde hair and glasses started to yell at the young man, she called him a f-ing r#d, and the young man came back out of the doors, our server, quickly defused the situation by telling the young man not to cause a scene in the front the restaurant. He said something to the young blonde serve very low to where we could not hear him, and walked in the back. She followed him yelled and cussing. A few minutes later our server, shay, came to our table and politely apologized for the scene we had witnessed. She asked if we needed anything, brought us our refills we requested and again apologized. When she walked back up behind the counter she was called to the back, after her being back there for a few minutes we could her a little arguing, mostly from the young blond server, she came from the back of the store saying "f - you" to someone we only assume it was our server. I was very upset by this. Mainly because no manager was there to defuse the situation, our server took charge and tried to stop the situation from getting out of control. Only to be treated with a tremendous amount of disrespect from this young blonde server. I felt that this girl was very unprofessional in so many different ways, I myself work as a manager in a resturant and I would never allow my staff to treat eachother with this type of disrespect, and I feel that if bob was alive today, he would never allow this girl to treat her fellow co-workers in that manner. And I think that the manager on duty that day should be talked to. Because we never seen him/or her one time, the only person who ever came to us to offer us an apology for this incident was our server, and she was the only one who took charge to diffuse the situation before it really got out of control. I feel at the least she at least deserves recognition for standing up and taking charge. I would be proud and honored to have an employee like her work for me. She made our experience great at bob evans even with the incident that happened during our visit she still made the meal enjoyable and I would just like to find a way to tell her thank you and to keep up the good work. I only hope one day it pays off for her. She was a pleasant person, and we would return to bob evans because of the service she provided us during this trip. Thank you, shay. You were wonderful.
I am going to post this as many places as I can. As I am very upset about this and I think that this needs to be addressed by the store's general manager or owner.

I recently visited a resturant, which I go to often, and had some of the worse food, service, and treatment that I have ever gotten.Our food was cold, we ordered salad she brought it to the table and said you didn't carry the dressing but if that was all we wanted she would whip some up it was nasty...

We saw on the sign outside of the establishment in Bowie, MD, that the turkey dinner was 6.99. This drew us in. We asked our server about the advertisement and we were told that the dinner was the smaller size. We said that was fine and placed the order. When we were presented with the bill it read 7.99 for the dinner. When we questioned this st the register, the cashier would not change it. This was a very disappointing experience.
soup and service was awful.
Bob Evans Henley road. My Daughter and I dined in 11/15/16 around 6:00 pm. We were greeted and sat down in a timely manner. I noticed the restaurant wasn't very busy. The waitress took our drink order and we told her we would also like to order now. She took some time to get our drinks and rolls we had ordered. Then we waited and waited and we were thinking about leaving when our waitress brought our food. The waitress told my daughter to be careful with the soup because it was very hot. We started to eat and my daughter said to me that the soup was cold. I tasted the soup and it was cold. We waited some time again before I could get her attention. We told her about the soup and she left and then returned with some hot soup. The waitress never returned to our table. We got up to pay for our dinner with no bill. I told the young lady what we had to drink and eat and she rang us out. I did notice that the manger was cleaning off tables on the side we were sitting at. Maybe the manger should be more attentive on how slow the kitchen staff was getting food out or how long food was sitting before delivering to the customers table. My wife and daughter had eaten at this location on 11/14/16 and had told me there service was terrible but the food was good. There are problems at this Bob Evans location if you care. I don't want free food and I don't need anyone to call me or email me your sorry. What I do want is good service and good food or is that to much to ask for.

On Friday Oct 21 at the Fredonia N Y store, we were not waited on after being seated for 31 minutes.Asking to speak to the manager, who was unshaven and wearing yesterday's shirt, his reply was where were you seating. I no complaint about my seat. We will not be returning any time soon.

I placed an online order at Bob Evans Rio Grande on October 20th. The order was suppose to be ready at 6:30 pm. I walked in at 6:30 and no one was at the carry out counter. I waited for 30 minutes when someone finally asked if the order that was sitting on the counter was my call in order. My food was cold when I got it home and part of my order was missing. When I called to lodge a complaint the manager asked the waitress to ask me who was calling. I replied a customer to which the manager told the waitress that they were too busy to talk and they hung up. I never saw a manager the whole time I was in the restaurant. I'm not sure what qualifies you to be a manager but obviously at Bob Evans it's not much. I will not be returning to this particular restaurant and will make sure to inform anyone I see of the horrible experience I had there.
server left & no one covered our table
This was one of the worst dining experiences I can remember. We were seated, ordered drinks and placed a lunch order. After about 15 minutes the server was no where in the dining room. We waited and waited and were about about to walk out when a different server spoke to a nearby table who did not get the side of bacon ordered and their meal was nearly finished.
This other server asked us what we had ordered because there was four plates left under the heat lamps. The wait staff had no idea which tables these orders needed to be served.
Our food was finally served but the food quality was substandard because the bun was toasted and lettuce had turned black from the heat lamp; the plate was also scalding hot. Needless to say, I was not very happy with the food quality due to neglect on behalf of the staff at Bob Evans. A sandwich with Texas Toast on top is not very appealing and that is exactly how it was served.
The young lady who served the table was very polite and considerate considering it was not one of her assigned tables to fix customer service issues. A modest tip was given directly to this server and the manager frowned at the gratuity.
I work in the food service industry and have for several years, its no surprise for management to send an employee home during slow periods. It is disturbing to not service the customers who are inside the establishment awaiting quality assurance at a professional level.
How can I recommend this restaurant when I waited nearly an hour to be served a late lunch?
