cell phone was not activated, money lost
To whom it may concern:
I'm writing this due to the horrible customer experience/service at your location on 9528 Roosevelt Ave Jackson heights, NY 11372. I went on 8/1/18 to switch over from Metro PCS because my sister was happy with her service with boost. I took advantage of the free phone because I liked it. It was the LG stylo 3. The employee did all the transitions, charged me $82 and told me If my service didn't work in 10 minutes, to restart my phone. I did it and it didn't work. I was very busy that day so I didn't have time to go back, so I called like 10 times and no one answered at the store. Then I remembered the same girl who helped me told the store manager in front of me they needed a store phone, because she used her own cell phone to port my number, meaning they don't have a store phone I was calling like an idiot. That night I called Customer service and they told me, my number is cannot be ported because it belonged to some weird collection of numbers. I forgot the name but I knew what she was talking about because I used to work for a cable company and that use to happen to me with certain ports of numbers . At this point it couldn't be ported and they advised me to go back to the store to get the issue fixed. The next Day I couldn't go I have a sick newborn at home who sufferers from reflux so it's hard to go out. Today 8/3 I went with my receipt to the store and requested a refund, because it's not my fault the employee didn't do her job correctly. Also I had to pay my cell phone, because it's urgent for me to have one because of my little one. The employee a girl, called the store manager, and he said no, I cannot get my money because I stayed with metro pcs. And if I had an issue to go back tomorrow. First of all I'm not a yo yo, I paid everything should have been perfect, why do i have to lose money for an employees fault, they did not try to work with me
Or anything. Just plain blank no refund, I let her know about my newborn and she didn't care at all. This is crazy, I've never seen employees be so rude and inconsiderate. I have the phone and just want my money back for this huge inconvenience. As I walked out the store my fiancé was sitting in the car, and when I got inside he told me the girl employee was laughing at me when I was walking out. This is ridiculous, disgusting, and I've never experienced such nasty unprofessional service in my life, I would like a refund of my money or I will proceed to contact the better business Bureau. Thankyou for your time Lori.

do not purchase pre-owned devices from boost mobile
I purchased a factory refurbished pre-owned samsung edge 7 directly from boost mobile. I noticed a couple of issues with the phone within 30 days of purchase and tried to get a replacement. What next happened is explained below.
Boost will sell you a factory re-furbished pre-owned phone, but if you have any issues with that phone you have to place a claim through their "90 day warranty exchange program". What it actually means is that you will have to place a claim with brightstar (cell phone insurance carrier) and go through a lengthy burdensome process to get your phone replaced.
Spoke with a brightstar agent. "john" went through a lengthy and scripted explanation about how this claim would be processed and initially said there would be a charge for the deductible of $175.00. I mentioned that I had purchased the pre-owned phone about 30 days ago and that I would not pay any deductible. That what I have is a warranty issue. After being put on hold he came back to confirm the deductible would be waived. Thank you?
I wondered why I was placing an insurance claim, when what I needed was for the vendor to replace a defective item? I called boost. Boost will not replace defective pre-owned merchandise. They redirect you right back to brightstar for your claim. I have never, with any company I purchased a phone from, had to place an insurance claim for a warranty issue.
So back to starbrite I went. After going through their automated process (which never works with my number because boost didn't register my phone with my address. They used the store address!- I found that out from starbrite. Apparently its common practice - and why I could never make automated payments on line. More on this subject below!) I arrived to the place where you get to wait for a "live" agent.
I had to hear the entire script again and then was warned about false statements, and that the called was being recorded. I was asked about damage to my phone and when it happened. I kept explaining it is a warranty issue. They insist on damaged and file the claim as such. I was given instructions on how to complete my claim.
I have to submit what the agent called a completed "claim form" (its actually a "claim affidavit" I had to print from their site), valid id, and proof of address. The id would not be sufficient proof of address and would not be considered for this requirement. Huh?! The courts, police and banking institutions accept it. Why wouldn't starbright? Who checked their id?
I have to submit a current utility bill, auto insurance, or other proof on their list of acceptable options. Do not buy or put anyone in your household who can not provide a utility, property tax or insurance bill on any account or purchase with either boost or brightstar. I now have to call boost and try to get their live agent to update my address, so that it matches with the one I will put on the claim form. If it doesn't match the claim will be rejected.
I can take pics of these items and completed form and upload them to the website. The agent warned not to leave any blanks or unanswered questions as they would reject the claim. It takes them 48 hours to process the information and complete the claim.
Once they receive the above and the 48 "business hours" days have passed I (yes, the client) have to call again and get one of their live agents to review the claim and issue the return label.
I am to return the phone with the provided label. They will inspect the phone for damages and determine if a replacement or repair would granted. They take another 48 business hours before a phone (mine or the replacement) is sent back. I was told the whole operation would take about 7 business days by the time all was said and done. During this time I will have no phone service unless I have another phone which will work on boost's network.
I have purchased new and pre-owned phones in the past. Warranty issues come up often with these items and I have never been without phone or service for any length of time. They generally accept the warranty claims over the phone and send you a replacement with additional instructions for the return.
I understand that brightstar has their process for claims and that they follow these processes to mitigate their own losses and damages, but I purchased a defective item from their client. Subjecting me to this process on a warranty claim shows a lack of good faith towards the consumer and is completely misidentified as a damage claim.
Additionally, boost mobile completely washes their hands of you once they sell you the item. Their only concern is to collect on the service, which isn't provided by them either. Boost mobile sacrifices any semblance of customer service and contracts out everything but collecting the payment.
I will say. It is a good thing they don't have contracts that keep you obligated to deal with them.
Disappointed in nyc
Brightstar sucks! I have had to submit the documents 5 times...5 TIMES!
First was told that they never received, yet..i got a kickback email from me submitting the document saying it takes 24-48hrs for viewing. BUT THEY NEVER GOT IT RIGHT?
OK, so i spoke with a "supervisor" who told me to go through the website to submit it online for faster service and she would even note the acct to have it viewed immediately. NOPE! She lied too. I was told upon calling back to check on it they received document but the date was not showing..BS! If this document didnt have my info on it I would upload it so you all can see the date is clear as day on it.
So where I am right now... is pissed off!
I just got done uploading doc on website as well as emailed brightstar the same original bill this time after I personally highlighted MY NAME AND DATE ON DOCUMENT WITH ARROWS POINTING TO BOTH. If I get another bs story tomorrow, then I know this company is trash! At this rate i am considering to end insurance on all 4 lines on my acct or looking for a new service provider that does not deal with brightstar..BRIGHTSTAR IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY WITH MINIMAL QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS TO KNOW THEIR JOB! WORST EVER..I RATHER SPEND MONEY ON A NEW PHONE WHEN NEEDED THEN TO GO THOUGH THIS AGAIN!

phone purchase
I have been with Boost for years and have never had any issues until today. I purchased a preowned galaxy s7 edge and finally got it. I was super excited but after being transferred to technical support and being on the phone for 2 hours and still not being able to activated the rep said it had to be defective and would require me to send it back. I was bummed. He said use the packing slip as it was prepayed bit I didn't have one in the box so he said pay for it with my own money and he would put in my notes to credit my account with $20 either include it with the refund or add to my wallet. I sent back a defective phone with my own money, no problem Boost was going to take care of me. Well I got my refund for the phone but no $20 for mailing their defective phone back so I called them. They couldn't find it in their notes so I asked to speak to a supervisor, Stephen, supposedly he tells me no one is above him. He tells me he can not give me my money back because it's not in my notes and he can't give money back just because I didn't like the phone. I tell him if I didn't like it then why did I buy a replacement yesterday, same color same model. It was defective. He can't help me I get aggravated and honestly lose my temper boost is robbing me. Stephen tells me he will hang up on me. So basically if this next phone doesn't work I have to pay to return it as well and just keep paying to send back their defective phones? Who does business like that? Hopefully the phone works but if not I'm switching to Straight Talk. Who treats loyal customers like this when their own reps promise to reimburse the shipping? Insane!
unlocking policies
Well I have been with boost mobile for over 5 years and I never had so many problems with my phone. I don't think it's the phone I think it's there service, I have been getting so many drop calls, my phone has been freezing every other day, not able to use phone when you go so far out of town and all other stuff. So with that being said they send my phone a signal and it still did the same thing. I ask them to unlock my phone so that I can go to a different carrier but they refused even though my phone is paid in full. They tell me about a 12 month policy that they don't inform their customers about and until the time comes that you want to switch then here is this 12 month unlocking policy which don't make sense for them to hold you there service if it sucks. So they credited me $60.00 dollars but again my phone still does the same thing. I just need help unlocking my phone without having to pay extra because my phone is paid in full. I already spoke with managers and supervisors which is not the same in there company, but no solution was ever solved. I want to get this issue resolved and switch to different company because they have poor customer service and poor phone service.
promotions
I gave been a customer for about 10 years or more. I asked an agent what I qualified for on discounts. I found out none special, just the ones that everyone gets. That is sad to reward a very long time customer like that. And in the time I have been with boost I have 4 phones in my house. I will start looking for a company that rewards loyalty. The agent wouldn't give me the information to contact anyone regarding this matter. I did take screenshots.
reboost card
I seen a ad about getting a free reboost card. I followed all proceeder until finally when it seem like a scam I called boost. The first time I got unhunged up on. The second time I was on the phone 1hr and 55mins. To get told I was a lie after they pulled the ad up and seen it. Then after I said I'm just calling coorporate then then tried to brush me off with a payment that I didn't want. The whole matter of me calling was to find out if it was real or fake. If it was fake y'all needed to know before more people called. And I was treated like I was trying to scam them. When I got scammed I been with boost for 3years. I never got treated so unfairly they had me second guessing myself. I'm pissed.
boost up iphone purchase
I called in to customer service to inquire about purchasing an iPhone 6 plus. The csr told me that I qualify for the boost up program and could finance the phone for 1 dollar! So I went in the store at 356 East Pipeline Rd Hurst Texas 76053. And the lady sold me the iPhone 6 not the plus! I'm not too familiar with iPhones so when I got home my daughter told me that wasn't the six plus but it was the six! Which is on sale for a 100 dollars I might add so there was no need to finance a phone for a hundred dollars when I could have just bought it! So I take the phone back to the store to return it 4 days later and she said they don't do returns! I told her that it was told to me that the return policy was 7 days. And she still said no! Now im supposed to be stuck paying 300 plus dollars for 18 months for a phone that's only a hundred dollars. An its not fair! I have been a loyal customer of boost mobile for ten years and this is not acceptable!
pensacola, navy blvd/chiefs way location
I went back to boost because I bought three phones from there. none lasted over six months. something always stopped working on them. the customer service rep, who was inept, inexperience, bigoted and rude to say the very list, could not even read properly, not only did nothin to help but grabbed my phone proceeded to reset it without my permission and damaged my phone further. boost owes me a new phone and apology. I will probably file a lawsuit at this point and switch carriers. I have been a boost customer, in spite of their overall lousy reception here since 2013.
the store in the 1500 beville rd complex in daytona beach has it's employees blocking front door with duel employees right in front of it
Today at approximately 10:30a.M. 2 employees were chain smoking away as I entered and exited my local publix (who's management said it is against complex policy for their employees to smoke in front of building). I had to walk in the road to avoid them and then they tried to ask who I was doing and I told them, "it is extremely tacky to have employees, especially management, allowing this smoking and participating in it!" they had me repeat it and then laughed and were on new cigarettes as I left publix, again having to walk in road to avoid their smoke. I tried calling your number for customer service, waited a long while then had the phone clerk tell me I needed to go to boostmobile.com right away, only to find out there was no customer service online. Hopefully this gets to you well and you correct if because I stand by what I told the employees, after they made me repeat myself, "I would never shop at a place that cares more about getting quickly to their next smoke than their customers!" thank you my name is shaun perdue and my phone number is [protected]
the phone and internet service
Ive only had the lg x charge for 2 weeks it doesn't connect to Wi-Fi im supposed to have unlimited internet and its beyond slow ive called and i have gotten no where with this i think this is very unacceptable and also false advertisement...something needs to be done about this IMMEDIATELY...i cannot evem load up a google web page and says concurrently that i am offline when i know ive never touched my data turn off and on button...THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE
lying supervisors and refusal of refund
I have been having major issues with Boost mobile in the past few months. My phone was overheating & malfunctioning so I sent it in and Boost made me jump through a bunch of hoops without any resolve to get a basic refund. I was contacted by someone who agreed to send me another phone as a stand in while I returned the other. While inquiring about my refund, I was told several different stories, one hand I could get my refund but when I talk to other ppl they said I could not get it. I was annoyed now & it was escalated to where I spoke to a supervisor who said I could get my refund & Boost could send me a new phone, covering the charge of whatever I chose & that I could get my refund in 2-3 business days. Relieved, I waited 2-3 days but got no refund. When I called Boost to address this issue they said the refund was not in the call notes & there was no refund to be had. Basically, this lying supervisor just said that & now I am looking like the liar now bc all the others going through the call notes didn't see this. I was livid.. What kind of company is this which allows them to lie to loyal customers. Mind you, he wasn't the only one to tell me I could get my refund. By this time I am calling all the time, drilling them for my refund bc I was told I could get it all the while my phone still wasn't working. One supervisor tried help & when she realized there was no way to fix the phone, she told me she will call me right back and never did. I was waiting on my landline with a dead phone in the other hand. Boost has a bunch of supervisors lying to customers and giving up on them. Now, Boost has my money and my phone and they 'launched an investigation against the ones who lied to me' We know that's not gonna do anything & the headquarters # was down so I can't file a complaint there either. This company no longer deserves my service... 7+ years of loyal service and I get treated like this. Lied to, put through hoops and people giving up when they can't or wont resolve an issue. Never. Again.
tiny, cylindrical bluetooth speaker
On 5/8/18, I purchased the item in the subject line at a local Boost Mobile location. A week later I chose to return it because it did not work. The store rep arranged a
"good faith" exchange of the same item, another brand new one for me to take home and try, in lieu of a refund.in "good faith" I did what she suggested and had to return that item 2 weeks later for the same reason.
I am seeking a full refund.
boost service
I went to switch to boost from metro at the store on pace blvd in pensacola florida. Not only did it take 5 hours for me to get service, the service is horribly slow. I have never made a more disappointing decision in my life by switching to boost mobile. Next month I will be switching back to metro, where they will provide me with another free phone but better service and it will only take 30 minutes for the switch. I will never return to boost mobile nor will I recommend it to anyone. They are by far the worst phone service you can get.
not receiving text messages
I'm not getting certain text messages. I have had people call me wanting to know why i haven't text them back. I have deleted my call history. Old text messages. Restarted my phone. Optimized my phone and still nothing is working. I have had this phone for about 2 months and have had same problems after having it for 2 weeks. If the same problems don't get fixed with this phone I may condider going to a different phone carrier.
boost billing
Client phone number [protected]. I changed my Boost mobile plan to move from 2 lines at $35 each to an unlimited family plan for a total of $80 per month. I was informed I had a $20 credit that would be applied on the next billing cycle, so I expected a bill of $60 for my first month on the family plan. Instead Boost billed me $188 in the first month. $58 on 4/23, $50 on 4/23, and $50 on 4/23 again.
I have spent hours on the phone with Boost customer service only to be transferred around to various customer service agents, hung up on, and transferred to American Express claiming it is their problem. The agents have a limited command of English and no ability or willingness to solve the issue. Managers are non-existent or purposely unreachable.
The desirable resolution is a refund of $128 dollars.

service
Danielle,
I feel your pain with the Network unavailable issue... The identical thing is happening to me. The difference is, after 4 days, all day, after being transferred to non-existent extensions, lie after lie compounded with more lies, that "MY ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED" crap, my last and final call while utilizing and expending my entire 50 minute roaming allocation per month to BOOST, I made myself so clear, my ears are ringing. I am a cancer patient who is currently undergoing the most aggressive chemotherapy there is, to date. I have been hospitalized -3- times for emergent services due to life critical effects. I live alone. I have to maintain an ongoing, constant and frequent line of communication with my Oncology team. I cannot do so once my 50 minute roaming free-bee is gone. It was gone last month for two weeks. I am reporting them to all regulatory agencies, as well as put it on record that in the event I have an emergency and need to speak with my doctors or vice verse, and am unable to do so absent any connectivity, AND, in the event I should suffer a premature demise due to connectivity issues, there will not be a Boost Mobile nor Sprint Corporation for long. My family will own them. I am also filing Grand Theft charges against them for illegally withdrawing 3 months of payments for $45 without any such permission, express or otherwise, AFTER already auto paying on the 13th for my monthly service, WHEN I HAVE NONE! I need this to remain out there, until they opt to delete it (which they will.) If my attorney will consider adding you as an additional complainant, please let me know if this is something you would desire to pursue. Thanks... Good luck! (Viral with continous posting)
mobile network not available
Everyday I am unable to make/receive calls same with texts when I am at my home. I receive an error message "mobile network is unavailable" I am however able to use the mobile network data ( not WiFi). I have made multiple calls and spent hours on the phone troubleshooting and resetting. Each call ending with the representative telling me that they can't resolve my issue and I should contact the maker of the phone lg. Funny right? The error clearly states MOBILE NETWORK not available. So I call them and am laughed off the phone as I knew I would be. So my network carrier cannot fix the issue and the manufacturer cannot fix my issue. I requested a refund from boost and was told that because I used 7 mins worth of calls that they cannot refund me... WHAT? I used 7 mins of an unlimited plan and you won't refund me? Ok so my next question was since the issue is with the mobile phone I bought from boost when I got the service ( not a byop) then your company should send me a new phone.. The boost representatives response was and mind you this was a manager" I don't have a new phone for you, I can't refund any money, I can't resolve your issue, I can transfer you to another dept". What department she wouldn't say. I asked what they were going to do that she as a manager couldn't? Again no answer... No explanation. Basically told me they won't do anything. Don't get this service. Boost mobile does not care about doing the right thing for a person that pays for service.
customer service
I have been unable to use my phone for the better part of 2 weeks while at home. I was told the cell tower close to where I live is being repaired. When I called today to get a update or additional info, I was told while they have no idea when the tower will be fixed that I should consider moving in order to have better service with your company. How unprofessional is that and why would this agent who represents your company feel comfortable saying something like that to a paying customer. I have been a loyal customer for at least 3 years or more and this is the type of service I am to expect when calling customer service? Needless to say I will be leaving this mobile provider and switching to at&t with my fiance who also was a boost mobile customer!
