rebate ripoff
I ordered services for Comcast triple play was told of a Bridgevine rebate of $325.oo in September of 08. They are a company who never sends out rebates and I am still yet to have mine. Then they sent me an email stating that my request for my rebate has been denied because they already paid the maximum amount for my address.I have been going back and forth until finally I was told that the check had been sent where it is they don't know, weren't going to cancel it, and basically it was my problem. I would never do business with this company again. Someone needs to do something about this company before it gets worst

rebate scam
I signed up with Bridgevine for Comcast Double Play (cable tv and high speed internet) in August 2008. They clearly told me it would be $ 66/month for 12 months along with $ 225 cash back and free modem and router after mail in rebate. I have the print out from their website saying so. Gonna attach it here.

When I contacted Comcast about it, I was shocked to find out that the promotional rate of 66/month is good only or 6 months. I waited to see howBridgevine would respond to it. They told me Comcast had the final say on it. I sent my rebate forms for the modem in time and waited. I did get the rebates back- one from D-Link and one from Bridgevine. However, when I inquired about the $ 225 cash back, they told me I had to send in another rebate forms for that. In the beginning when I asked them about the cashback, they had clearly told me once modem rebates are taken care of in 10-14 weeks, they would send me the cash back money. I now found out that was a lie. I had to send in the rebate form for the cash back too. Since I was not told about it then, I am out of luck for that cash back money of $ 225. I think they are so disorganized that they haven't even updated that I have already gotten the rebate for my modem yet. It still says it is being processed. I am definitely going to file a complaint against Bridgevine with BBB. I have the copy pasted version of their Comcast Double Play (for cable tv and high speed internet) with me. I hope that will be sufficient to bring them to book. If any of you happen to have the original printed version of it, that would be great. I didn't have a printer then, so had to settle for the copy-pasted version. Any body care to assist me with this mission? If you could, please write to me in my e-mail [protected]@yahoo.com

Matthew Throop,
Mark has forwarded your email for research and response. In reviewing your submission, the envelope was addressed under Promotion #09-81452. This Promotion did not begin until May 5, 2009. Your service order was placed on April 29, 2009. The scanned submission does not reflect the actual rebate form only service bills from Comcast and confirmation of payment of these bills.
With this said, however, we have confirmed the orders activation and its duration with Comcast. Therefore, we will override the rejection of the submission and issue the rebate in the amount of $150. Due to the overriding of the rejection, you will not be able to see an additional information via our online site. I will email you once again with the actual check mail date.

Here is a copy of my latest correspondence to the Bridgevine debacle. I will update the status if/when I get a response; and because I have a law degree, I will not hesitate one second to file a lawsuit in D.C. Superior Court. The court only charges 5 bucks for small claims under $500!
Hello Mr. Ballard,
I got your information from the following Website Bridgevine — rebate scam. My tracking number is above and my confirmation code is #[protected]. I have tried calling the number on the card Bridgevine sent to me, but the computer just makes up some other tracking number when I punch mine in, so I can not get through. My card indicates that, among other things, my rebate form was missing. The is absolutely untrue. Furthermore, I have been gone from my home for over 2 months and just now received the undated notice requiring me to respond by 07/22/2009. My last correspondence was with chrystabelle.desmond@offerwire.com on 07/03/09, and he told me to wait 8-12 weeks. Well, it has been about that long, and now I come home to a notice telling me to respond by a certain date, and indicating the wrong rebate offer, that my form was missing, and that the order number was missing from the form. This is absolutely untrue, and I have copies of everything I sent. I will be happy to send (again) copies of things Bridgevine says I never sent, but I will be very unhappy if they use the time they asked me to wait against me to refuse my rebate. Please advise.
Thank you,

You're lucky. I didn't even receive router rebate & $200 cashback. I am wondering how we can fight back against Bridgevine Scam. We absolutely do something about such a scam for future victims.

liars!!!
I signed up for Comcast on August of “08” through Bridgevine. I had been shopping around for the best deals and finally found Bridgevine that “beat” everyone. Their website offered double play (cable & internet) for $66.00 for ONE year, connection fee of $49.95, versus everyone else for 6 months term only. I thought it was too good to be true…so I called and verified with a live rep before signing up…she confirmed all was correct including rebate offers. She said that our conversation was being recorded! So…I get my 1st Comcast bill….terms were for 6 months and connection fee of $79.95! When I called Comcast they said it was standard connection fee for having two services connected, (which Bridgevine knew I was getting …DUHHHH it’s called double play! yet I was given the price of $49.95)…. Comcast continued to say that they had nothing to do with what Bridgevine, (their authorized dealer) promised me….so Comcast & I called Bridgevine on three way …Bridgevine confirmed my promised terms but yet nor Comcast or Bridgevine want to take responsibility….my complaint was “being sent to corporate” by Bridgevine… Comcast & Bridgevine promised returned calls by supervisors once my case was reviewed, I called over 15 times, they called me back NONE!
Now October 7, 2008… after still not hearing from anyone, I again called Bridgevine. They responded that after reviewing my initial promotion they see that it really was only for 6 months, not 12, they are apologizing for the representative that misinformed me of the RECORDED initial terms when I signed up, and for all the reps that RE-confirmed the terms every time I called…even the one that RE-confirmed it to Comcast on 3 way. Oh and the connection fee, well that’s up to Comcast to deal with since they scheduled my connection, comcast says that's to be handled by Bridgevine since I aquired their services through them...so that’s all folks, that’s how COMCAST & BRIDGEVINE deal with the complaints from their valued customers!
about the rebates…wish me luck on that!
mr ballard seem to be helpful. hope he has helped you. if not, i'd say report them to the better business bureau AND the internet crime complaint center ic3.gov. no one should go through this. comcast should also have some level of ownership here. they accredited them so that means they qualified their veracity & integrity. in any case, my friend had very similar experience with them until she told them what she was planning to do (reporting them if they did not act). her issue was resolved in a couple of weeks after monthssss of being agitated with them. goodluck!

scam
It says on its website that you get the deals (in my case comcast double play-internet and cable tv) for 66/month for twelve months. After signing up for service, comcast revealed that they have that deal only for 6 months. When I tried to confront Bridgevine, they told me Comcast has the final say. It sure is a scam to get the people to subscribe to cable and different bundles. So beware of Bridgevine. I have yet to see if they gonna honor that $ 225/ cashback thing. I woudn't be surprised if they don't.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
When you find out you've been had by their rebate trick, they charge you an outrageous restocking fee for returning the so-called rebate eligible items.
I recently ordered comcast Internet and cable. I was quoted a $50 install and a $96 (total+tax) bill through comcast bridgevine. I have a confirmation email staying this. Then 6 hours later I get an email from comcast with my bill total, which is completely different. The modem is $9 per comcast instead of $7 per bridgevine, the instal is $70 per comcast, and there is a $10 few per moth for HD and I was told specifically that Hd and DVR were included in my package. This is a huge communication error between comcast and Bridgevine and it is not my fault, it's theirs.
I'm glad I read reviews. I'm gonna go spend the money with Comcast directly. Fu*** bridgeswine. That company is the reason America is failing.
I have to say that dealing with the company was a nightmare with no results, however, once my complaint was posted here Mark was very helpful. My issues were referred to the Sr VP of Marketing & I received my refund within a week.
Mark,
I did the Comcast-Offerwire rebate, which sounded too good to be true because it was so much money; in fact it has been too good to be true, requiring five separate rebates to five separate locations with two different timing requirements. I made the sales person send me the forms before I would complete the transaction, because the silly site would not allow me to download them. I meticulously completed the forms, copied them and when sent in one was "lost" and one "lacked the original proof required" although it was taped to the form. I got the second issue fixed with a call - when I said I had a photocopy, they said, "gee it is right here" and processed it. The lost one would not process so I sent it in two more times - then it processed after I send a letter threatening to sue (I have cheap, good legal service available).
I still have only received three of the five rebates, and each time I call they move alone the process another step - but not before. Oh yea - and the online rebate system has been offline more than half of the times I tried to track status.
It has been a horrendous waste of time, with a process that is designed to lose people along the way (not a surprise) I am willing to bet you are able to maintain less than a 30% payment rate on the complete rebate package overall.
I will tell you who I am because I am still missing two rebates (and they are after the wait time) and this has become a personal challenge. I am actually looking forward to needing to sue over a $50 rebate - if I do I will make it a complete, detailed accurate and entertaining story on a web site that gets offerwire, brdgestone and comcast noticed on search engines. I am kind of anal about details and documentation, so it would be really fun.

I respond to every email that I receive. I have never received one from someone called "iwantmyrebate" can I assume you sent it under a different name?
I can honestly say that we have resolved every issue that has been emailed to me. Unfortunately people don't always go back and post a thank you on sites like this, and that's okay I don't expect them to. If you email me your order confirmation number I will certainly get to the bottom of this matter and contact you directly.

Here's the email that I just sent to Mark Ballard of Bridgevine:
Hello Mark,
I've been scanning the many complaints against your company in regards to the Time Warner Cable equipment rebates that are advertised under timewarnerspecials.com.
I had no idea that I was involved in a 3rd party company until the equipment arrived at my home w/"offerwire" in the header. I knew I was in trouble when I attempted to call the customer care # & received rude, inefficient, scripted representatives that definitely did not care how they were representing their company. The whole experience was long, draining, & ultimately another example of why this country will always be deficient in matters of business growth. We are scamming one another & I am so over it. Aren't you?
It's truly a travesty that many people have had to endure what I have this evening. Your company has upset so many people... It's truly disgraceful & ultimately unacceptable.
Please contact me in regards to the order of operations needed to be executed in order to receive my rebate.
I feel misled & abused by your promotion. I would like to avoid any legal proceedings hence forth. All I want is the rebate that was promised to me.
No magazine subscriptions. No dating advice. Nothing more than the money that I've already spent, returned as a rebate.
Please contact me via email or telephone.
I look forward to discussing the solution to my issue.
Now, let's see if I get any action.
Anyone get a reply from Mark? Looks like he's replying, but no comments on resolution from the public.
I am prepared to be as tenacious as necessary. I feel bad for the people that simply do not have the stamina to see the process through. I know that there are reports on Better Business Bureau website, but this practice of placating, stupifying, & funneling through a convoluted process is NOT ok. I'm tired of giving my hard earned money away to thieves. Haven't we had enough of this BS?
I have the same problem of bait and switch! I am still waiting for a rebate for Comcast Triple Play. This is a definite purpose driven Scam! Just make it as hard as you can and must of their customers will give up in disgust! It should be noted that Bridgevine is a third party, and that their decisions are not necesarily those of the Companies they sell for. In the same vein, the Companies they represent and sell for are responsible to their CUSTOMERS. ATT, Comcast and others MUST be aware of the shoddy, underhanded and deceitful methods being used to rip off customers by Bridgevine. The bottom line is that I, We have been taken to the cleaners and the Companies, ATT, Comcast and others don't seem to mind one bit as long as they have a new customer! I advise those that have not received fair treatment contact their State Attorney General Office and lodge a formal complaint.
I signed up for DSL thru Bridgevine and did receive everything i ordered and my service was activated through my ATT phone service. I did send everything necessary to receive my rebates both from ATT & BRIDGEVINE.
that was back in early MARCH 09 but i still have not received any rebates. I was just on the phone with a rep from att and he gave me this number to call and see if they can help me perhaps it might help others.
It is [protected] you must call between 7AM-7PM M-F. of course maybe its a phony number too. i guess its take a chance if you want.
Other thah getting the rebates i was promised i am very please with ATT'S service. hope this will help.
Mark,
I also was scammed by Bridgevine. I ordered equipment that Time Warner then told I didn't need so I returned it but never received a credit or refund. All inquiries were ignored
fraud
I was defrauded of $100 from Bridgevine.com ($50 router rebate and $50 cash back) Bridgevine.com online purposefully and intentionally withholds needed information required for rebates. After doing everything regarding the rebate exactly by the book, I received the following message:
"Unfortunately, we were unable to honor your request for the following reasons: The service provider is showing a different company as Affiliate of Record for your service order; therefore, the order placed through Broadband National is not a valid service order."
I complained but got nowhere. This company is a complete fraud and it is impossible to get anyone to resolve the issue!

Hi,
I had a positive experience with Bridgevine, which I wanted to share as a testimony to their business practices. I hope this helps. Please see below for the correspondence I had with Debbie Garrett whose email address I found on another website. I was very concerned that I would lose the $225 rebate I was promised when I got my comcast service, especially after reading the negative messages on many message boards. I almost did not contact them, but decided to because I figured I had nothing to lose. This email correspondence started on March 31st, 2009, and I'm ecstatic to say that I received my full rebate on April 24th, 2009.

Hello Debbie,
I am writing to you as I need help with my Bridgevine rebate and am hoping that you
are able to provide it. I was looking online regarding information about Bridgevine
and it was extremely disconcerting to find a lot of negative reviews regarding their
practices with customer support. That was also when I found your contact information
and I'm praying that you are one of those few people who can see an issue through to
it's conclusion.
Below is my order confirmation from Bridgevine which I received on December 10th
which states that I am due for a rebate of $225. I'd also had my Comcast cable
installed within the specified timeframe. The problem as it stands is that I was
going to send out for my rebates yesterday 3/30/09 but just noticed on the rebate
form that the application needed to be postmarked by 2/28/09. Debbie, I need to
ensure that I am still able to apply for this rebate, and here is the reason why. I
was out of the country from 2/4/09 to 3/19/09. When I returned, my father had heart
surgery and therefore I was unable to take a look at my paperwork. I have proof of
my travel and my father's surgery if required. I was concerned with applying for the
rebate prior to leaving on 2/4/09, and even started to take care of it on 1/30/09,
however when I looked at the stipulation, I saw that my cable needed to be active
for 60 days prior to applying for the rebate. At that time I decided to wait to
apply until I returned because I was waiting for the bill that would be proof of my
status with Comcast for 60 days service. At that time I did not know about the
deadline of 2/28/09 as it had never been mentioned to me by the salespeople I dealt
with. I am extremely upset and worried that I may not receive my rebate and I
request that you work this through with me due to the special circumstances listed
above. In case you are unable to assist me with this, I request that you forward
this email to your management and provide me with the name and contact information
of the person I should deal with. Once this is resolved, I will take on the
responsibility to go back to the web blogs that had negative feedback regarding your
practices and leave glowing reviews of the assistance I have been provided. I am
sure this will be a strong endorsement for your company.
I will be happy to attach any written proof you request to my rebate application, I
only request something in writing from Bridgevine to authorize my application for
the rebate due to special circumstances.
I thank you very much for your time and consideration in this matter.
Simone

Simone,
Thank you for contacting me so we can work together to resolve your rebate
situation. As you can understand, we have to set limitations on the time for rebate
submission acceptance. However, we also don’t want to deny anyone a rebate that is
deserved. Based on your situation, I will waive the “postmark by” date on the
submission. However, you will need to send the submission directly to my attention
at the below address.
Upon receipt of the submission, it will still go through the normal validation
process. If deemed valid and the check processed, I will advise you of the actual
check mail date. I would also appreciate you posting a “positive” blog on some of
the complaint boards.
Again, please mail the rebate submission to my attention to the address below.

I am currently trying to place an order for the HSI offer (AT&T - $19.99/month). Had some questions, and wanted to clarify some info, so called them by the toll-free number listed on their web-page [protected]).
All I got was a message that the number is not in service. ! What ?
And that was right before I wanted to hit the Submit button. Am I lucky?
I have done everything absolutely correct, and I'm still waiting in Feb 2009 on a $50 cash back rebate and a $39.95 D-Link Modem rebate that I submitted in September 2008. I went to www.rebatestatus.com and my submissions show, but after "Submission status" the site says that due to "updated" info, a new submission "might have been created, " and to contact them via an email link. Give me a break. I'm going to call them tomorrow. I was very thorough in submitting for these rebates: I did receive $40 router rebate, $10 router rebate (both on same router), $175 cash back, $20 modem rebate. But still waiting on the $39.95 modem rebate (on same modem) and $50 cash back. I received the $40 router rebate Jan. 12, 2009 (submitted Sept 18, 2008). So maybe the other 2 checks are in the mail, but it's looking to me like a lot of hassle is about to begin. I'll update all.
Wendy, this was the deal for me back in August, so I bit on it.

Wendy,
I had ordered the service thru bridgevine for Comcast Double Play (cable tv and high speed internet) back in August. They clearly told the rate was good for 12 months but later Comcast said it was only for 6 months. I was shocked to get the rebates for the modem, but I won't be getting the cash back of $ 225. In the beginning they had told me all I had to do was send in the mail in rebated for the modem and I would get my cash back bonus in 10-14 weeks. Now they tell me I had to send in the separate mail in rebate for cash back, which actually seems to be the case. Since I am already late for the cash back rebate now, I will be losing it. I think Bridgevine gives false information to the customers so that they can rip us off later. I am gonna file the complaint with the BBB here. I think u guys should do it too. That way they will be forced to bite the dust sooner or later.
Raj
Bridgevine scammed me by promising incorrect cash back amounts (saleswoman on the phone quoted me with $125, actual rebate offer was $100) and including a dummy rebate website on the email confirmation. After checking that website religiously waiting for the forms to be updated, I finally called to find out that that was not the correct website and that the rebate deadline has passed (by 4 days). First, they blamed me for not calling sooner, then they could not give me any valid reason for why the incorrect rebate site was listed on the email. The lady said she would be submitting a special rebate request to bridgevine, but was very rude when I asked her to provide some sort of proof that a request was being sent. I highly doubt that that is being done, so I am contacting bridgevine directly now.
Ken,
I agree with u that Bridgevine is full of scam. They had thing for Comcast double play (cable tv and high speed internet) for 66/month for 12 months along with free cable modem and $ 225 in the beginning of this month (September 2008). Now I have my service and every thing, but I was shocked to find out that 66/month was only for 6 months NOT 12 months from the Comcast. When I tried to talk to Bridgevine, they are not giving me anysatisfactory answers. I wish I had made the print out of that Double Play bundle. They do not have the same bundle now, bu they do have a similar bundle except that it is for phone and tv for 66/month for 12 months with $ 125 cash back.I had only ordered the cable modem from them, so they charged me $ 74.90 including shipping and handling. I have sent them the rebate form- there are two of them to be sent. The first one is to be sent to D-Link for $ 20. The second one has to be sent to Bridgevine itself along with 2 months' bills. The second one is gonna be for the amount of $39.95. I think u only saw one rebate form. Having said, I still doubt if they gonna honor my rebate leave alone that $ 225 cash back. If they don't gimme that double play for 66/month for 12 months, I would like to do some thing against them too. They have promised to work it out with me, but I really don't trust them. I have read here that people get their rebates denied on one or more excuses. Until Bridgevine proves me wrong, I am forced to believe that they are nothing but scam.
Hi I just wanted to let you know that I totally agree with you. This company is nothing but a big scam. They make all of these promises and then for some reason find ways to get around them. For instance the promised rebates can not be cashed in until you have had at least 2 months of service. The problem is that you have to use the rebate for the time you ordered the service and not when it actually was set up. So what they do is not send your equipment out right away and that way you have no way of getting your full 60 days of service in before the rebate that your forced to use expires. On top of that they claim to give you a rebate that makes your modem free but that is not true either because they sell the modem for $50 and the rebate covers $39.99 only. What I would like to do is put together a class action lawsuit to sue not only Bridgevine but also the companies that they represent since these companies allow Bridgevine to screw their customers and do nothing about it. If your interested in joing me in this lawsuit endeavor please email me at johndoe3815@yahoo.com

rebate hassle
I just got my rebate for $70 denied. No explanation. The rebate staus said pending but I e-mailed Bridgevine to see what was taking so long.
Now that I see just how many people are getting screwed by Bridgevine, I urge you to file a complaint with the FTC. They can not resolve your individual conflict but if enough people submit complaints, they will launch a fraud investigation.
Here is the link.

I would like to say that I did recieve my rebate. It took me contacting Bridgevine directly and the person who assisted me said that all my information was there and she did't understand why they were denying it. She fixed the problem and I recieved my check a couple weeks later. I all but forgot about this post until it was -promptly- answered two months after it was posted. I am obliging them by posting that I recieved it so, here you go.

We also had the same problem with bridgevine with their rebates and free services that are not really free. we have charges on our bank accounts related to them. Beware of this company and other fraudulent online companies!
BRIDGEVINE IS A FRAUD AND SCAM COMPANY
bridgevine scam
They did not honour my rebate of $300.00 and made me wait for 24 weeks to finally give me a conclusive reason for denial.
Every representative I talked to had a different story or had a bad attitude towards me and most refuse to help me.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I was on the phone with xfinity comcast agent in CT on 04/17/2018 from 430pm till 448pm

Usurally in some events, It is Wise to read before you go ahead to get the services. It is your right to Ask Q's before you continue, The agents at Bridgevine are patient and will be willing to answer all your questions all you have to do is ask.
Especially those in the caribbean thoser ppl are so relaxed and looking at it from my side It may be their faults sometimes but you cant put the blame on one person but you also have to look at the mistake that you may have made.
I'm not taking sides or anything i'm just saying we Should look at both sides of the coin.
Correct questions return correct answers.
tanooki.
Please email me your order confirmation number and I'll get to the bottom of this. We in no way try to deny people their rebate as long as they fill out the paper work correctly.
Thanks

I recently just ordered my Comcast service from them. There is supposed to be a shipping confirmation e-mail within 42 hours, but when I called them up after 3 days they told me I canceled the order for the modem.
So, they got me to sign up for the service and didn't even send me the modem this is very underhanded. I didn't receive anything telling me I had canceled the order for my modem either.
This must be their way of delaying me, so I can't file for my rebates. Not to mention the shipping cost was an outrageous $15 dollars for ground shipping for a modem which is somewhat small and light weight.
If, possible do not order your service from them, but instead directly from Comcast.

I had submitted my three rebates for my internet connection for a total of $140.
Initally they showed the rebate status online but now they told me the original company i submitted my rebates to went bankrupt and hence there is no status on my rebate status. I called the customer service to inquire about my rebates keep telling me that they have emailed their corporate office for status and they havent' heard back from them. It has been over 5months since i submitted my rebates and it has been almost a months i have been waiting for their corporate to reply.
So I do think this rebate from bridgevine is a scam; and this is my own experince. I got timewarner cable from them.
I agree! I did not get my rebate too! Do not believe in them!
This is how I fell for this Bridgevine ### guys. It was from August of 2008

I got screwed by this company too. I ordered Comcast high speed internet though them and in return I was supposed to get a free router and modem. Well the router and modem arrived in an open and damaged box, plus comcast said they couldn't give me service at my address. So I returned the package to bridgevine and over a month later they still have not refunded my money. One phone number has been disconnected and when I call their corporate phone numbers they keep transferring me until they hang up on me. Stay away from this company!
