Great company to work with and we are over the moon with the results!
Great company to work with and we are over the moon with the results! They did an amazin job on our pavers. The team was super friendly and professional. They came on time and finished the work quick. The pavers look so good, it's like a dream come true. We couldn't be happer with the outcome. Highly recommend California Paver Pros for all your paver needs. They're the best in the biz!
They started my project in June and it's still not done
They started my project in June and it's still not done. We are now October 1, almost, and the follow-up is terrible. The communication is terrible too. It just didn't work out, and the quality of work was really bad.
California Paver Pros is not the company to call if you want reliable service
California Paver Pros is not the company to call if you want reliable service. Although the pavers they installed turned out beautiful, they failed to follow the pattern we specifically requested and disregarded the terms outlined in the contract. The customer service provided by this company is abysmal as they never bother to return your calls, despite promising to do so. I had a third job scheduled with them, which was supposed to be completed in two weeks, but it has been a frustrating one and a half months with no communication from their end, despite them already having received my deposit. I strongly recommend finding another company for your paving needs.
I made a deal with this company in June to get a fresh concrete driveway for $68,000
I made a deal with this company in June to get a fresh concrete driveway for $68,000. They were supposed to begin the work that same month, but they never got started. They kept delaying the job, and in September , they reached out to me and suddenly demanded $90,000. I ended up hiring another company to finish the job in October for $65,000. California Paver Pros are not trustworthy, they lack ethics, professionalism, and seem quite shady. I strongly advise staying away from them!
Absolutely the worst customer service I have encountered in my life
Absolutely the worst customer service I have encountered in my life. After several attempts to reach out to Rob for some repairs needed, he made condescending comments, claiming I know nothing about this industry. He continued with a misogynistic attitude towards me and tried to dismiss my concerns, saying that I don't know the industry standards. First, I'd like to say Rob doesn't know me or what knowledge I possess, so he should be more careful about what he thinks he knows. Second, I am a scientist who is data-driven and therefore have concrete evidence that repairs are needed. Third and last, Rob should never deal with customers in this manner. This goes completely against what you have on your website, claiming the following: "Here at California Paver Installations, we haven't forgotten what the backbone of every successful business really is: the customer. A business is nothing but a hobby without a loyal, satisfied customer base." So with that being said, we will do our absolute best to provide each and every prospective client we meet with an exceptionally friendly and professional service. We do our best to provide this friendly and professional service 100% of the time.
DISASTER!
DISASTER! DON'T USE THEM! From day one, this was a disaster. Starting out with the crew at my house asking me why they're there (not their fault) to the project manager admitting this was a clown show. Project manager doesn't do a site review or markings before sending the crew. The main office doesn't return calls. You can't speak with the owner. When they mess up the job and you refuse to pay until it's fixed, they're extremely quick to threaten legal action and put a lien on my house. Very delayed start, crew not knowing why they're there, project manager showing up way after the fact clueless on what's going on, artificial turf delivered to the side of the road, turf that sucks, pavers that permanently stain from normal dirt and debris, refusal to credit me for unused pavers, more legal threats, telling me it'll be 4-6 weeks for them to remove 2 pallets on my driveway, no clean up, telling us that 'permanent stains' are normal, not telling us in advance these stains are inevitable, using various cleaners and scrubbing to no avail...etc etc etc. And now we're being sued by a law firm in *** - not California. Obviously an attempt to squeeze us. Shameful.
Shady, unethical, deceptive, dishonest, uncommunicative
Shady, unethical, deceptive, dishonest, uncommunicative. I've seen these words used a lot in recent reviews about California Paver Pros. Let me tell you about my experience with them.
First off, they installed the pavers all wrong. I had to ask them to tear them out and do it again. It was a real hassle. And get this, the whole project took over nine months to finish! Can you believe it? The contract said it would only take two weeks, but apparently, that was just an estimate. I tried calling the owner multiple times to get a solid completion date, but they never got back to me.
They claimed to be certified by EID to install water lines, but turns out they weren't. It took them months just to pass a one-hour Zoom class to get certified. And even after that, the first two attempts at installing the water lines failed. It wasn't until months later that they finally got it right on the third try. Talk about incompetence.
They also messed up a stone wall they built. There was a two-inch difference in heights from each side to the middle. They had to tear it down and start over. And let's not forget about the concrete footings for the bridge. When the bridge was installed, the concrete crumbled, causing delays for other contractors. They had to redo it all over again.
To top it all off, they tried to charge me extra for things that were clearly included in the installation plans. Can you believe the audacity? They even offered me a $3,000 credit on the final bill if I promised not to write any reviews. Of course, I declined. I'm not going to be silenced.
The owner had the nerve to call me the worst customer ever and claimed that they did an excellent job. Yeah, right. And guess what? The whole reason I started this $60,000 project was to get rid of the weeds growing in my existing pavers. Their salesman and superintendent assured me that there would be no more weeds. But guess what? This spring, the weeds started popping up everywhere. I reached out to California Paver Pros again, and they had the audacity to want to charge me for weed abatement. I've had enough!
In conclusion, my experience with California Paver Pros was a complete nightmare. They were unprofessional, unreliable, and just plain terrible at their job. I would not recommend them to anyone.
I signed the contract for my backyard buildout in May , and they said it would be done in two to three weeks
I signed the contract for my backyard buildout in May , and they said it would be done in two to three weeks. But it's been almost a year now, and I'm still dealing with this company. In October, my project manager and his crew leader finally came back to address the punch list, but it was the day I had to leave town. He asked for the final payment and promised not to cash it until everything was done. But they cashed it the next day, and when I came back, I saw that almost nothing had been done. I tried to get them to come back multiple times, but they kept making excuses. They didn't return until February, and even then, the sealing work got scheduled and canceled three times. I talked to the construction manager about it, and now they say I owe almost $2,000 for sealing under a separate contract. They also sent me two new invoices totaling over $9,000, claiming it was due to their accounting mistake. I couldn't believe it. Throughout this whole process, they never provided itemized invoices or receipts, and I don't even know what work has been completed. I reached out to a government agency for help, but during a Zoom call, the owners threatened to put a lien on my property.
We hired this company to stain and seal our side yard, driveway, and pool deck
We hired this company to stain and seal our side yard, driveway, and pool deck. They had a rep come to your door in your neighborhood and sell you services that they were offering in the area. Jacob, came to our door and asked if we needed certain services done that they offered. I explained we needed concrete stain and seal. He stated they did offer it and had a rep contact me for a quote. *** came out, and quoted us $8500~ do stain and seal our concrete. We accepted the offer with the full promise he gave us he would be here every step of the way and even come out and watch the project being completed. He even stated the stain and seal we picked would last 12-15 years, then said it was actually 7-10 years. I should've known then it was going to be a problem hiring them. Needless to say, the problems started from the moment I signed their contract to do business with them. They called me last minute before the job was even supposed to start (and I wasn't home, I ended up coming home to watch) asked if they could come "prep" the area, which included taping places off, moving all of our stuff out of the way (carelessly,) and they didn't even clean! Before the stain and seal! I had to personally call the company and get bounced around to get them to come back and power wash and clean before they stained and sealed our concrete. We live in a new development where there is a lot of red dirt, so it was a must it be cleaned, and *** promised us that. After it was finally cleaned, they sent out two workers to do the stain and seal, they even said they ordered the wrong seal, so this seal we were getting was not only more expensive, but even better and lasted longer! One of the workers they sent out, seemed knowledgeable and trained, but the other seemed to have never done a job like this before so of course our home and project was going to be his training site, not ok! The stain and seal took several hours and me going in and out of the house to check their work and if I liked it or not. They missed so many spots, like an incredible amount. Our stain looked like a mixture of the actual stain and several spots you could still see were missed based on the fact we could still see our previous basic concrete color all over the place. They ended up having to come back out to make it look better, and by that time, they were just ready to come to my door, get my check, and leave. I ended up calling the company back and asking for the manager, ***, who came to my house and didn't really say much about the work at all. I did tell him I recognized him from a friend of a friend I've seen post on Facebook, I am "friends" on social media with a girl his wife is related to. (I will get to that shortly.)After about 4-5 months, our concrete has faded incredibly, it scratches even if you walk with flip flops on and we were told if you drive on it (which obviously we have to, the tire marks would easily wash off, ,) it has these white spots that pop up in random places (at first we thought it was bird droppings, but it is not,) the red clay dirt still appears after 24-48 hours of rinsing it with basic hose water, you can still see several spots that they missed. I ended up texting *** and advising him we are not happy with the results after this amount of time, and he referred me to ***, the ***. *** called me, we discussed my concerns above, and stated he would come out to look at the project. He came out, and seemed to notice all of my concerns and asked me what I would like to happen from here. I declined them coming back out because I don't think they have adequate employees to do the job correctly based on my experience with them already, and that we would appreciate *** refund they could give us so we could get the job fixed. He said he would talk to *** (the previous manager who was out here) and get back to me that afternoon. Well, he never willingly got back to me. I finally called him within a week of him coming out to look at the areas and he had the audacity to tell me that he spoke with ***, no refund would be honored, and that since we were "close family friends" they would come out and fix the areas that looked bad. Such a joke, as stated above, I recognized him from a friend of a friend on Facebook, and have never talked to the manager a day in my life before that. That is T a family friend. He also advised me the white spots that were popping up "must be coming from something in the sky." Makes no sense. The problem is we had poor work done. A company should honor fixing something that a customer is not happy with, and clearly they took the time out of their day to come and take a look at. I finally spoke with *** again on 04/11 via text from his cell # and advised him we would like someone to come out and fix the areas that needed attention (we didn't want to invest anything else with another company or individual at this point,) he said we will get that done this week and will call me as soon as he can lock down a day with 100% certainty, never heard anything after that, so I text him again on 04/19 (after I told him we would like them to come and fix the areas they have promised they would fix) that he would be looking at that today and sorry we did not get that done last week, he thought for sure a small window would open up to accomplish it and they would get it scheduled this week. Never heard anything again, until I text him again on 04/27, 04/28, 04/30 to see when and if they were still coming out. I did not receive a response to any of these messages and have officially stopped initiating contact. It is clear they are not going to honor their promise and have no intention of making it right, and have just wasted my time. We are very unhappy and dissatisfied. Such a large amount of money for such a headache. 100% do not recommend doing business with them.

I got a pergola built by California Paver Pros in my backyard
I got a pergola built by California Paver Pros in my backyard. Since they installed it, the fan ain't been workin' right. They fixed most of the leaks, but the worst part is that the flashing they put in blew off in just a month. And for a whole year, they've been tellin' me they're comin' to fix it, but they never actually show up. I've sent 'em multiple emails, texts, and tried to reach out, but they just keep stringin' me along.
Poor quality workmanship and terrible customer service
Poor quality workmanship and terrible customer service. When they finished the project in February, I didn't realize it was done because they only put sand between the concrete decking slabs, which didn't seem sufficient. They never even sent me a bill. I had to call them to ask when they would be done, and they said the project was already complete. Unfortunately, before the rainy season even started, most of the sand had washed out, and now it seems like I'll have to hire someone else to properly fix this project that was just done in February. Since October 26, I've been in contact with three different employees from the company, trying to get them to address the poor quality work. However, they have recently started ignoring me, despite me sending them photos and making several phone calls.
We had around **** square feet of pavers and around 160 linear feet of retaining wall put in our backyard
We had around *** square feet of pavers and around 160 linear feet of retaining wall put in our backyard. The installation started in early February and finished in early April . On May 19th, I noticed some shifting in a section of our retaining wall and pavers. I reached out to the salesman that day to let them know about the shifting, and he said he would contact the office right away and they would get in touch with me to schedule a repair. However, I didn't receive any contact from them. After a week, I started calling the office, but most of the time I got an answering machine where I always left a message. Sometimes I did manage to speak to someone in the office, but they always said we were on the schedule, yet no one showed up. Finally, they did send someone to our home to assess the damage and take pictures. However, there was another round of back and forth with the office, with them rarely returning our calls or giving us updates on the status. I reached out to one of the owners, and he assured me that someone would come to our home on 7/26, but once again, no one showed up. There was no call to update us, and I had to leave another message.

In March this year, I hired this company to stain the concrete around my pool
In March this year, I hired this company to stain the concrete around my pool. I paid a deposit to have the inner part of the concrete design one color and the outer part of the concrete a different color. The outer design was sprayed first with the wrong color. I showed them pictures and was told the concrete didn't take the color and they would come out to fix it. It is now almost September and I have yet to have anyone come out to fix the problem. I have called numerous times, but no callbacks. They said they are short on employees and will send someone else when they can. They also said they accidentally overbooked and gave me many excuses for an incomplete job. I decided to look for another contractor to see if anything can be done. Unfortunately, because the stain is already down, there isn't much they can do to cover the existing color. Moreover, when they sprayed the outer design, they didn't cover the inner concrete design. The off spray from the stain landed on parts of the inner design, causing that color to seep through additional colors that could be placed on top. At this point, the only possibility is to try sandblasting the entire surface to remove the current stain and start over. Nothing, not overlays, tiles, or anything else can cover the disaster as it won't adhere long term to the stain. I have phone records, text messages, and pictures that outline the timeline of this nightmare caused by a company that is supposed to be professionals.
California Paver Pros were hired to do two jobs: 1
California Paver Pros were hired to do two jobs: 1. Lay overlay tile on my covered patio 2. Work on my landscaping and hardscaping of my home. After taking a $1000 deposit from me and agreeing to schedule the work as soon as HOA and County permits, I had to repeatedly chase them to schedule work. I also had to pay a further $300 deposit for the patio work and paid $3000 total. Eventually, they agreed to work on the patio project first. The work they performed was very pool. Many tiles were loose and they used sand suitable for pavers instead of tile grout. I had them come back out to replace several tiles and they did (after missing two appointments). I have since hired another contractor to review their work and found that multiple tiles are loose and will need to be replaced. The new contractor is going to replace the sand with tile grout but has advised me the tiles should be replaced due to the poor workmanship and that they will likely crack or shift over time. Also, the tiles were cut poorly and cracked along the edges. This job was clearly rushed because California Paver Pros originally said they would need 3-5 days to complete it but then somehow did it in a single day. The company then failed to return my calls for arranging further work, would not respond to email and texts, and constantly gave me the run around for some weeks until I informed them I would use somebody else. I even messaged their CEO. I would like my $1000 refunded as they have never completed any work related to that deposit and they lost my business because of failing to schedule work, communicate, and for poor work on my patio. If they are not willing to refund that deposit, I will contact a lawyer to seek full damages related to the poor patio work also.
amount still remains
amount still remains. Overall, my experience with California Paver Pros was extremely disappointing. The job started late and the workers seemed confused about their purpose. The Project Manager, who admitted to being thrown into the job last minute, called the whole situation a "clown show." The artificial grass that was delivered ended up getting damaged within a week, and the PM responded with a threatening text demanding payment. We also had extra pavers that we paid for, but they refused to credit us or remove them for over a month. The final cleanup was never done, and soon after completion, our pavers were stained by leaves from a nearby tree. When we reached out to the company, our requests to speak with the owner were ignored, as were our calls to the main office. The paver manufacturer and other experts confirmed that we should have been warned about the potential for staining and that the pavers should have been sealed. However, the salesperson insisted that sealing was unnecessary. We were never informed about the risk of staining from leaves sitting on the pavers for more than 24 hours. Despite my efforts to clean the stains, a significant amount still remains. Overall, I would not recommend California Paver Pros based on my experience.
On 10/05, I signed a contract with California Paver Pros for maintenance work.
On 10/05, I signed a contract with California Paver Pros to have them clean, sand, and seal a specified area of pavers. The contract price was $6,029.20. On 11/01, at 10:50 a.m., the company arrived at my house, power washed the pavers, and left at 1:15 p.m., promising to return after lunch but did not. The following day, despite the forecast of rain, they returned to prep the job. By noon, it was raining, and they were mistakenly applying sealer. After raising the issue, the owner assured me of proper completion on a later date. On 11/03, the workers acknowledged the rain damage and planned to redo the work. They only cleaned the pavers and left. The next day, they sanded and applied sealer. I withheld inspection until the sealer dried. Once dry, I found uneven shades and uncleaned areas, with a mess left behind. My complaints and photographic evidence have since been ignored.
