Carroll Home Services
Carroll Home Services. Second time in two months, havin to wait hours after oil in to have furnace bled. They were fine two years ago. Now they are terrible. Freezin while waitin over 6 hours. No call to tell be anything. Everytime I call it rings then hangs up. Last time it took until after 12am. Told between 6 and 9 pm then too.

In the past few years, my biz has run outta oil multiple times, and Carroll Oil has offered 10 gallons, which only lasts a few hours! Then they try to schedule a full delivery days later. That ain't cool for any biz. Also, tonight they said they'd come at 7PM to reset my boiler. I called at 7:30, and they said they'd be here in a sec. I called at 8:30, and they said a tech would be here in 10 mins. Just called at 9:30, and now they're sayin' it'll be another hour. I'm sittin' in my freezing biz, wonderin' what the hell is goin' on.
This company has a big problem
This company has a big problem. Their skilled technicians keep leaving and they are left with not-so-skilled and not-so-experienced people. Their technicians don't know the furnaces, have trucks with not-so-good parts and equipment to do the service. God forbid you try to talk to someone important to give feedback because they don't exist. I asked to talk to an important person and no one will answer the phone. It used to be a good company giving skilled and timely service, but now it's just a t-shirt company.
What a horrable experiance we had
What a horrable experiance we had. Our heath stoped working in the middle of January, the coldest month even in Annapolis, Md and they were not able to find the problem over 4 weeks. The company kept sending different technicians every week, so incompitent and every time we had to pay for a call service. My new born was only 5 days old when the heath went out. It took the company over 1 month to figure out what the issue was. Over the course of the month they sent 7 different technicians. Then they ordered a part, which took another week to arrive and another week for someone to come and install the new part, only to find out that the heath would not work again. Well, we got lucky with the last guy, he was able to help. What a horrable, horrable experiance.
I've been with Carroll for a long time
I've been with Carroll for a long time. But like, around 5 years ago, their service got all unreliable. Turns out they're not even their own company anymore, they're part of some alliance thing. They stopped calling to let me know when the tech was coming, and they cut back on what they cover in the service plan. So then I had to call them again to get my heating system air bled, and they made me pay extra for it. I thought the whole point of maintenance was to make things work better, you know? Last year, I had a water leak in the furnace line. They said it was an emergency, but it took them over 8 hours to send someone out. They expected me to stay up all night waiting for the tech. And when he finally showed up, it took him like 4 hours to fix it, and he didn't even do the maintenance. He said it was just a temporary fix and it would need to be redone later. So I did some digging and found out they were charging over a dollar more per gallon for oil. When I called to complain, they said I could pay $150 a year to lock in at a lower price. Like, what's the point of that? So I switched to a different company now. I'm paying less for maintenance on my furnace and two air conditioning units than I was paying just for the furnace with Carroll.
We been with Carroll for a long time
We been with Carroll for a long time. Lately, their service ain't what it used to be. Prices for heating oil are way too high. Last January, I was home when they did an "oil delivery". I was surprised 'cause we just had a delivery less than a month ago. I saw the technician outside and checked the oil tank gauge, it showed it was full. I heard him hooking up the hose, but there was no sound of oil going in like it usually is, loud as can be in the house. After he left, I looked for the receipt, but there wasn't one. Few weeks later, I got a bill for almost $1300 for 333 gallons of oil! I called 'em up and told 'em it was wrong. They said it was the same as previous years' usage. I explained that we switched from oil to electric for heating water, so we should be using a lot less. The guy on the phone said, "oh, you should've told us that! We won't deliver as often." He completely missed the point that I was charged for oil I didn't even get. He offered me a $100 refund. I was gonna end my relationship with this company, but I decided to wait until after our annual service 'cause I already paid for that. But guess what? Yesterday, when the service was supposed to happen, nobody showed up. When I called to ask why, they said "it was cancelled by the host". That was the last straw for me.
This company, Carroll Home Services LLC, is not recommended
This company, Carroll Home Services LLC, is not recommended. They have been charging us $700 per month for gas, which is too expensive. We decided to switch to electric heating instead. However, they kept calling us every day, asking if we wanted a refill. I told them that I wouldn't refill until my guys checked the tanks for leaks, which might explain the high bill. They insisted on sending their own guys to check, and instead of closing my account as I requested, they switched it so I had to call them to get any answers.
Their guy came out and said that Carroll didn't fill the tank fully, but claimed there was nothing wrong with our tanks. We still decided to switch to electric due to the high bills. We thought everything was settled until I received two bills in the mail. One was for $116 for their guy coming out (they didn't mention any charge), and the other was for trespassing and refilling my tank without my permission. They filled it halfway for some reason and sent me a bill.
I called them to explain the issues, and the woman on the phone said someone would call us in the morning to resolve it. However, they never contacted me because they only seem to call for money. I advise against using this company as they are scammers. I am currently filing a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com and contacting the attorney general. I may even take them to court for trespassing. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle. There are plenty of other oil and propane suppliers in Baltimore. Don't fall for this unprofessional scam.
I been a Carroll Home Services customer for like 15 years
I been a Carroll Home Services customer for like 15 years. Just recently, Carroll put in an air conditioning thing in my house. While they was working up in the attic, one of the guys broke through the ceiling. Accidents happen, I get it. Carroll Fuel told me to get a drywall company to fix it (instead of sending their own people), get a bid, set up a time for the work, and all that. I wasn't too comfortable with that, so I asked to talk to a manager. But guess what? They never called me back. So I found a good drywall guy on my own, and when he was done, I called Carroll again to ask about sending them the bill (like one of their employees told me to do). But once again, no one called me back. I called them a total of 8 times, spending hours on the phone explaining my situation to different people who said they could help. They all said they would pass it on to a manager, but guess what? The managers never called me back either. I asked them to pay the drywall company and tell me who to send the bill to, and also to let me know my final balance since they didn't use everything they were supposed to. But even after the 8th call, I tried emailing them and all I got was a rude response. Then I finally got a bill from Carroll, and they added a $171 late fee because I didn't pay (but how was I supposed to know how much to pay when they never got back to me?). Finally, I talked to a manager who said sorry for the mess-up, but then they told me to pay the drywall company myself (even though they made the drywall company wait over a month for payment because Carroll never got back to me), and they said they would reimburse me. They said they would pay for my heating service plan for [protected] as compensation for all the trouble (but that means I have to stick with them for 2 more years). The manager and I talked about other service plans being paid for too, but I guess Carroll Fuel changed their mind because the last email I got said they would only credit me for 1 year of the Heating Service Plan.

I had an incident with Carroll Home Services LLC on 11/7
I had an incident with Carroll Home Services LLC on 11/7. One of their technicians, Carroll Fuel tech #1, told me that I needed a new furnace. However, I decided to seek a second opinion and paid a third party $365 for their assessment. Surprisingly, the third party technician said that my furnace was actually okay.
In response, Carroll Home Services sent a second technician to verify the accuracy of the third party's assessment, and they agreed with them. On 2/15/2022, Kurt M from Carroll assured me that they would refund me the $365. I even have an email receipt to confirm this.
Unfortunately, up until now, I have not received the promised refund. Despite my efforts, including sending 5 emails and making multiple phone calls, I have not received any replies from Carroll Home Services.
This company has been nothin but problems since we signed with them
This company has been nothin but problems since we signed with them. We are on auto delivery and we have run out of oil twice in under a year. When we call, we are on hold forever. When we get then on the phone, they schedule somethin with you and then don't follow through. There is always an excuse. One time the person on the phone just completely forgot. All they do is send someone out with a little bit if oil which last for about 12 hours. Both times we were without heat for over 3 days in freezing temperatures.
They keep auto renewing annual service contract that I did not purchase!
They keep auto renewing annual service contract that I did not purchase! They auto renewed the annual service contract 2 years ago. I called them 2 years ago and informed them I did not wish to continue. I called them last year stating the same thing after I got a bill. They cancelled. Then this year, I got it again! I called them again to inform them I do not wish to have this service contract. They supposedly cancelled. I got more bills from them for the $200+ annual service contract. Now they are sending me bills with late fees! We purchased 2 full house heat pump/ac units from there 5,6 years ago. One of them is already broken and we finally just gave up on having it repaired over and again, and purchased a new unit. I'm EXTREMELY unhappy with this company's service, why would I want to buy more services from them? This is outrageous! Account number: ***.

On 5 April 21, I made a deal with Dylan O, a sales rep from Carroll Home Services, to take out an old HORIZONTAL oil tank from our basement and put in a new HORIZONTAL oil tank outside. Dylan said it would be the same style of tank, just with an extra layer to meet EPA rules. Other than that, it would be the same. I couldn't see the new tank until the old one was gone. It took most of the day to assemble, and that's when I realized it's TOO TALL and not what I asked for. I can't reach the top, and neither can the oil man without a ladder. That's not safe. I told the installers I didn't like it and called their main office. It wasn't until May 20th that Dylan finally got back to me. He talked to his boss, who said they can't replace the Veridical tank. I asked for a horizontal tank and was told that's what I'd get. I want what I was promised.
We've been a loyal customer of Carroll Home Services LLC since 2011, having a service agreement with them
We've been a loyal customer of Carroll Home Services LLC since 2011, having a service agreement with them. However, in 2020, we decided to end our HVAC service agreement. We called and asked for termination, but unfortunately, we still received another bill. To rectify the situation, we submitted a request through their online system to terminate the agreement. Surprisingly, we were billed for a second year of service agreement. In November, we called again to request termination for the two years that should have been canceled. They assured us that they would credit the upcoming year and escalate the issue to management to resolve the previous year's billing. Strangely, they claimed to have no record of our cancellation, which is quite unprofessional. Despite this, we received another bill after that phone call and had to contact them once more today in December. They mentioned that they need to involve their repo department and promised that someone would reach out to us. However, even during this December call, there was no record of our previous contact to address the problem. It's been incredibly frustrating to receive no response or resolution, and we've had to make multiple calls and contacts to get any attention.
Me and my hubby Max signed a 1 year deal with Carroll Home Services to get heating oil
Me and my hubby Max signed a 1 year deal with Carroll Home Services to get heating oil. They said the contract would lock in a fixed price for each delivery all year long. But guess what? When we checked our bills, the price had shot up big time from what they promised. So I asked for a copy of our contract in November, and what do they send me? A whole different contract, with no signature! On top of that, they went ahead and made a delivery after our contract was up, without even asking us, and charged us almost double the original price. Nowhere in the contract does it say they can keep delivering after it ends, and there's no renewal clause either. I've tried getting in touch with them multiple times, and they keep saying a sales boss will call me. But surprise, surprise, no one ever does. Just the other day, on 12/28, I tried calling again and they said a boss would be on the line soon. I waited for a whole 30 minutes, and then Carroll Home Services hung up on me and never called back. This is all so shady and greedy. They ripped us off for a whopping $1,631! It's just not right, you know?
I've been a customer of Carroll Home Services LLC for about 4-5 years now, and I've had the unfortunate experience of running out of fuel oil 3
I've been a customer of Carroll Home Services LLC for about 4-5 years now, and I've had the unfortunate experience of running out of fuel oil 3 or 4 times during that period, even though I'm on their auto delivery service. This time, they blamed it on covid, but it's actually a common problem with Carroll. When I reached out to other companies for emergency fuel, they were shocked that this happened on auto delivery and said they would offer a monetary discount of around $100 for the inconvenience. However, Carroll doesn't offer anything to their loyal customers. We usually go without fuel for at least 24 hours, but this time it's been over 48 hours since we were told the delivery would be yesterday morning according to the schedule. Still no delivery. It's frustrating because this happens every winter, twice last winter. When you have to open windows in the middle of a 30ish degree night to air out smoke, the house gets really cold. The delivery drivers have expressed their frustration with the horrible scheduling and always having to deal with urgent situations. The last time I spoke with customer service, I was so fed up that I considered canceling their service. However, I decided to give them one more chance because the customer service representative was really nice. That was two outages ago when they claimed the truck couldn't reach our house due to snow, but when I checked outside during the call, the lane was perfectly fine. I had been driving in and out with a regular car without any issues. I'm tired of all the excuses and freezing in my house for the past two nights. The temperature only reaches around 53ish degrees during the day. Thank goodness for space heaters, but they cause my electric bill to skyrocket. Carroll doesn't pay for that either!
I signed a contract with Carroll Fuel services after I bought my home in 2021
I signed a contract with Carroll Fuel services after I bought my home in 2021. The contract was from 11/8 - 11/8/22. When they delivered the first oil on 11/10, the Carroll oil technician told me there was an oil tank leak and couldn't give me the oil. Carroll Fuel then told me to use Greentrax for oil tank removal, which I did. Because of the cost, I didn't replace the oil tank right away and used a wood burning stove and electric heaters to heat my home for the rest of the winter. On 12/30/22 (after the agreement ended), I got an invoice saying I owed an early termination fee of $399 and my account was suspended. Confused, I called to ask why I had to pay the fee since I didn't terminate my account. I talked to "Melissa" on 1/8/22 at 9:25am and she said my account was terminated because I switched to a different oil service company. That's not true at all. I never switched companies and I didn't ask to terminate my contract early. After looking into it more, she said they tried to reach out to me before canceling my account, but I didn't respond. That's also wrong because I talked to "Dylan," a Carroll sales consultant, about pricing options for future tank replacements, and I talked to another female representative to let her know I wouldn't replace my tank. I want the early termination fee taken off my account and my account closed with Carroll Home Services.
I made a deal with Carroll Home Services in 2021
I made a deal with Carroll Home Services in 2021. On 01/06/2022, right before the contract ended, I called them to fill up my tank. The cost per gallon of oil was about $2.50. During that call, I asked for the new price and they gave me a higher one, so I decided not to renew my contract with Carroll Home Services. They informed me that since I wasn't renewing, I would no longer be part of the "auto-fill" program. If I wanted a refill, I would have to call them and they would do it on demand. I agreed. In August 2022, as I was getting ready for winter, I called five different companies to compare prices. Carroll Home Services was more expensive than the others, so I declined their service and let them know I would be using a different, cheaper company that came in August and refilled my tank. I established a contract with this new company. On October 17, I found a receipt from Carroll Home Services on my doorstep for $52.59, stating that 8.9 gallons had been delivered. I called Carroll and asked why they made the delivery when I didn't have a contract with them, had declined their price in August, and hadn't requested their service again. They said my account hadn't been canceled in their system and that I needed to pay the bill. I refuse to pay this bill because, although it's not a lot, I can't imagine how many families are being pressured by Carroll to use their services just because they have access to the refilling outlet outside our homes. No one would accept a service without knowing the cost, especially in this economy. The invoice is ***; delivered at 14:09 10/17/22; Driver No. ***; Truck No. *** Thank you for your understanding, and please let me know if you have any questions.
