Warning: Poor Quality and Service from Paragon Stairs - Not Recommended
This company, Paragon Stairs, is not the best when it comes to providing quality products and services. I strongly advise against purchasing any of their spiral stair systems as they are cheaply made and not structurally safe. I had to go through the hassle of custom fabricating extra components just to ensure that the product was secure for my customer. The coiled handrail is made of a thin piece of aluminum that was already scratched and dinged up when it arrived at my doorstep. I had to spend extra time sanding everything down and priming/painting the whole thing just to make it look decent.
To make matters worse, the customer service at Paragon Stairs is terrible. They are non-responsive and rude, which only adds to the frustration of dealing with their poorly made products. After all the added repairs and fabricating that I had to do, I realized that I could have just had something fully custom fabricated with better materials for the same price.
Overall, I would not recommend Paragon Stairs to anyone looking for a reliable and safe spiral stair system. The quality of their products is subpar, and their customer service is lacking. It's a shame that I had to go through all of this trouble just to make sure that my customer was satisfied with the end result.
Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs: Poor Customer Service and Misconfigured Product
I had a chance to work with Paragon Stairs last spring when I decided to design a spiral staircase for my home. I was excited to work with one of their representatives who helped me design the project. We worked together until the project was about 80% completed. However, things took a turn for the worse when I found out that this person no longer worked there. At first, they told me that he was out for a few days, but then they said he was gone permanently. I was disappointed, but I decided to work with a new representative.
When the product was delivered, I was shocked to find out that it was configured wrong. I immediately contacted their customer service department and spoke to a representative who promised to present the problem to their engineering department. She also assured me that she would email me the next day with a fix for the error. However, two days went by, and I did not receive any reply. I was frustrated and decided to call again. To my surprise, I was told that the representative who promised to help me no longer worked there. I couldn't believe it! The problem was still not solved, and I was left feeling disappointed.
Despite my negative experience, I still believe that Paragon Stairs has the potential to be a great company. However, they need to work on their customer service and ensure that their representatives are well-trained and equipped to handle customer complaints. I would advise anyone looking to work with Paragon Stairs to be cautious and double-check everything before making a purchase. Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Unreliable Company: Don't Waste Your Money on Promises They Can't Keep
This company ain't worth a dime! They take your money and then don't deliver on their promises. We ordered some stairs from them on 8/12 and they told us that they would ship in 10 days (leave the warehouse 8/22). They even tried to change the shipping date, but I told them that I needed it on time and if they couldn't do it, I would use another company. They said they would get it out on the "next shipment date" but it's been over a month now and I still don't have my stairs. I have to use a ladder to get to my bedroom loft and my builders had to move on to their next project. Who knows when I'll get these stairs and when they'll have time to install them. If you're on a timeline, stay away from this place or it'll cost you in the long run. The customer service seemed good, but I'm very, very disappointed.
Nightmare Experience with Paragon Stairs: Incorrect Products and No Customer Service
This place is a complete disaster! I cannot stress enough how much of a nightmare it has been dealing with Paragon Stairs. I spent over $9000 on two products and both of them were completely incorrect. I have been trying to get in touch with someone from the company for weeks now, leaving messages and sending emails, but I have not received any response. It's like they don't even care about their customers!
I asked for the railing to be re-made because it was wrong, but I don't even know if they're doing it or not because of the lack of communication. I have been waiting for weeks for the product to arrive, and when it finally did, it was supposed to have passed the "QC Check", but it was still completely wrong. It's like they don't even have a quality control process in place!
I have requested some sort of refund since we had to pay four contractors two days work to re-do all of their incorrect work, but again, no response! It's like they don't even care about the money they are taking from their customers. I am beyond frustrated with this company and their lack of communication and customer service.
The railing was made inside out, with the rails and knobs on the INSIDE of the railing. All 8 staircase rails were 18 inches too short, which meant we had to pay our contractors TWICE to install it. It's like they don't even know how to measure properly!
I would strongly advise anyone looking for stairs or railings to go elsewhere. It's not worth your hours and hours of time to deal with this company. They are completely unprofessional and do not care about their customers. I am now going to the BBB and the Attorney General to try and get some sort of resolution to this mess.
Nightmare Experience with Paragon Stairs: Poor Customer Service and Difficult Installation
I'm in the middle of a house renovation, and let me tell you, Paragon Stairs was a real headache to work with. Their customer service is non-existent. Once you place your order, you have to chase them for updates on the status of your order and delivery. My order was late by 2 weeks, and then another 2 weeks, and then another 2 weeks. It was like pulling teeth to get someone at Paragon to call me back and tell me what was going on. And when they finally did call me back, they weren't even sorry about it.
When I finally received my stairs, they were a nightmare to install. My contractor, who is very competent, had to decipher the installation instructions and purchase missing parts. As a result, the installation cost me almost as much as the stairs themselves! And get this, Paragon states that the homeowner should be able to install the stairs themselves. What a joke!
If you're looking for a spiral stair company, I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere. Paragon is the pits!
Disappointing Quality and Customer Service: My Experience with Paragon Stairs
Paragon Stairs, or Salter Stairs as they used to be known, is a company that specializes in building high-quality staircases. I recently purchased a set of stairs from them for my home and I have to say that their customer sales team was great. The designer I worked with was friendly and knowledgeable and the stairs arrived in a timely manner. However, that's where the good part ends.
The stairs I purchased cost me almost $15,000, which included a $5,000 upgrade for teak treads that were supposed to be suitable for the marine environment in which I live. Unfortunately, within less than a month of installation, the largest teak panel warped and split, despite following all the care instructions provided by the company. To make matters worse, within a few more weeks, at least half of the stair treads had started to form cracks and splits.
When I contacted their customer service department, they pledged to replace the broken panel at the top of the stairs. However, that was the last I heard from them. It's been six weeks and I still haven't received the replacement tread. I'm left with a $15,000 unfinished product that's falling apart.
In conclusion, I would not recommend buying stairs from Paragon. There are plenty of other companies out there that offer better quality and customer service. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
Nightmare Experience with Paragon Stairs: A Warning to Potential Customers
I've been in the construction game for a long time, 45 years to be exact. I've worked on both residential and commercial projects, so I know my way around tools, assembly, troubleshooting, and materials. But let me tell you, my experience with Paragon Stairs has been a complete nightmare from start to finish!
First off, the shipping was delayed because half of my order was lost. When I finally received the product, I had to grind off sloppy welds, bore holes that were either done poorly or absent, and upgrade parts because what was sent to me was pure crap. And don't even get me started on the steps and platform steel, they were completely warped! I could go on and on about the issues I encountered. Oh, and did I mention that I've had to contact them twice now to send out missing parts? It's been a real headache.
And let's talk about the tools you'll need. If your experience is anything like mine, and I own just about everything under the sun (many in duplicate), you'll want to keep them all within arms reach. Trust me, you'll be needing them.
To be honest, there isn't one aspect of this experience that hasn't been disappointing. It's been so frustrating that I had to put a limit on how much time I spend working on it just to stay sane.
My advice to you is to check the reviews and do some investigating before choosing Paragon Stairs. Once they cash your check, you'll never hear from them again. Save yourself the headache and find a different company to work with.
Sincerely (and I really mean that),
Jeff Cooper

Unreliable and Unprofessional: My Experience with Paragon Stairs
I gotta say, I almost got myself into a real mess with Paragon Stairs. As a small biz owner myself, I know how important it is to share my experiences with others, so here goes. First off, they were pretty pushy with their follow-up after I reached out, but I needed quick service so I let it slide. When we finally talked on the phone, I explained my project and we set up a Zoom meeting for a few days later. They even asked about my time zone and scheduled the meeting for noon CST.
Well, yesterday was the day of the meeting and I was gonna reschedule because of some issues with my builder, but they said there were no more appointments available so I decided to stick with noon. I pulled over during my drive and got on the call, but nobody showed up. I tried calling but only got an email saying that a new sales rep would be handling my meeting. So I called again (no answer) and emailed to say that I was waiting for them on the Zoom call.
That's when Chris finally got back to me and said that the meeting was actually scheduled for noon EST. Now, I understand that mistakes happen, but he made it sound like it was my fault. I politely reminded him that we had confirmed CST, but then he dropped a bombshell on me - he said that he didn't even make the appointment!
That really made me think twice about doing business with Paragon Stairs. If they're willing to throw their own team members under the bus for a simple miscommunication, what else are they capable of? I mean, I'm looking for a product that will be the centerpiece of my home and keep my family and guests safe for years to come. I can't trust a company that doesn't care about their own colleagues or their customers.
So, my advice to you is to look elsewhere for a company that cares about integrity and community. Don't fall for the slick marketing and sales tactics of Paragon Stairs - they'll never meet you or see your home, and they're only interested in making a quick buck. In these uncertain times, we need to support local businesses that truly care about their customers and their communities.
Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs: Late Delivery and Poor Customer Service
I'm a business owner and I really hope the real business owner reads this. (I don't have a problem taking this down) I just wasn't given the access to speak to someone directly. It started with the salesman Mark Lanaro who sold me two stairs on 1/20/22. I stressed how important it was that I receive them by 2/2/22 for the super bowl events at my restaurant/nightclub. He told me the stairs I bought were in stock and would be shipped out on 1/24 with a 7-day shipping to CA.
I called back on 1/26 and the rude CSR person that answered said that it was in "production" and she didn't have a date that it would be shipped. She said, "someone will call you by end of the day tomorrow". This was the beginning of my frustration. I got a sales call within an hour but couldn't get a call faster after I purchased the product. That's a bad sign right there. By the end of 1/27, after not receiving a call from the manager Matt or the salesperson Mark, I called back again. The CSR still had no date so I asked to speak to a manager again. Matt was irritated with my call right from the gecko. He was pretty condescending to a customer who wired $6900 8 days before. He was acting like he was doing me a favor. We had a lengthy argumentative conversation in which he implied that I was making this up and the salesman never would say these things to me. Then he said I should read the DocuSign that says it would be shipped on the "week of the 24th" (This is true). And to add to this, it would take 7-10 business days to get to CA.
I told him that I wasn't looking for a discount, I just needed the product for the event. He didn't really care. He said it would be shipped the following day. I asked to speak to someone above him and he said the owner was also the customer relations manager. I was stuck because I wired the money in cash. I should have paid with a CC.
Today, 1/28, I just got a text saying I will get the stairs on 2/7 late afternoon. Leaving me two days to install the stairs. This is not cool.
I am a supporter of small businesses. Which is why I bought it from Paragon. The same product is available at Home Depot for less and faster delivery.
I hope the owners read this and see that their employees are running wild with no respect for their customers.
Terrible Experience with Paragon Stairs - Poor Quality Workmanship and Mistakes Galore
I recently had a terrible experience with Paragon Stairs, also known as Salter Spiral Stairs and SS Industries, when I ordered an exterior galvanized 2 story spiral stair set. The whole process was nothing but trouble and mistakes from Paragon.
The major problem was with the center pole, which came in two pieces that did not fit correctly together. One piece had a flange on it that was supposed to slide into the other, but we had to grind out the inside of the bottom pole because all the galvanizing dripped in at the galvanizing factory. No one checked if the pipes would fit together, and it was just shipped out to us. We had to do a lot of grinding to get the excess galvanizing out of the inside of the 3 1/2" pipe and kept trying to fit the top column into the bottom one, over and over. We finally got it started and tried banging the column down where they went partially in to each other, and now they are stuck. Paragon's engineers' solution is for me to try to cut the top pipe and try to bang it up, and they will send us another 2 columns. The top column only went in about 2 1/2" of the full 9". These columns should fit perfectly and should slide right in just by the weight alone, this is a disaster. Also, when you sign paperwork for your order, you are signing a non-conformance statement where Paragon is not responsible for any restitution for your additional expenses due to their fault, so be careful.
Besides the major problem with the 2 center columns, there were more mistakes from Paragon. All the holes in the spindles were drilled too small for the screws they sent that holds the aluminum handrail in, so I had to buy different SS screws. One of the platform railings was fabricated too long, and a new one had to be made. There is rust already forming at the welds on some of the steps. There was excess galvanizing on the poles, which I had to grind down to slide the steps on, compromising and defeating the whole purpose of hot-dipped galvanizing.
We have spent hours trying to get this inferior product together. Now we have the center pole stuck, which we cannot bang down anymore and cannot separate them. The engineer at Paragon suggested we drill a hole in the top column, slide a steel pipe through, and try banging it up.
Paragon said the best course of action now is for them to send me 2 new columns, which means we have to take apart the entire lower section that is already installed with the railing.
The quality of workmanship is extremely, extremely poor. I have filed a BBB complaint number; *** with BBB of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania.
Update: I have given Paragon Stairs the cost that I will incur to completely take apart the stairs as they suggested due to their mistakes and put the new poles in. Paragon has offered me a lesser amount, which we did not accept, and our warranty would also be eliminated for any future claims.

Buyers Beware: My Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs
So, I gotta say, I'm not too thrilled with Paragon Stairs. I mean, if I could give them a big fat goose egg out of five stars, I totally would. They're just not worth the hassle, you know? I mean, I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with them - just check out the other reviews on this thread. It seems like everyone's had issues with the steps being all wrong, and having to fight tooth and nail just to get any kind of help or support. And don't even get me started on the fact that I never got any kind of credit or refund. It's just not worth it, folks. So, if you're thinking about buying from Paragon Stairs, I'd say you should probably think again. Buyers beware, and all that jazz.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Paragon Stairs: A Review
I recently purchased a set of spiral stairs from Paragon Stairs. I was excited to receive my order and eagerly awaited the delivery. However, I was disappointed when the delivery did not arrive within the 7-hour window that was promised. I waited for hours, but there was no sign of the delivery.
After a while, the delivery finally arrived, but without requiring a signature as they had previously stated. I was concerned about this, so I decided to call Paragon Stairs to voice my concerns. Unfortunately, the customer service representative I spoke with was not very helpful. They were quite haughty and basically told me to stuff any concerns I had.
As someone who values good customer service, I was not impressed with the way I was treated. I believe that a company should always strive to provide excellent customer service, and Paragon Stairs fell short in this regard.
I am currently in the process of disputing the credit card charge for my purchase. I am hoping to receive a full refund for my order. In the future, I will be more cautious about doing business with companies that do not prioritize customer service.
High-Quality Staircases and Excellent Customer Service: Our Paragon Stairs Review
So, we decided to give Paragon Stairs a try and boy, were we impressed! We ordered a mid-range spiral staircase and it was a breeze to install. The handrail was made of sturdy metal and held screws with ease. We were so happy with the quality of the product that we decided to upgrade to a higher-end model for our next project.
But here's the kicker - we ran into a snag during the building inspection. Turns out, we needed to pour a one-foot deep foundation under the pole, as per Paragon's specification. At first, we were frustrated by this unexpected requirement. However, after consulting with Paragon's customer service team, we realized that this was a necessary step to ensure the safety and stability of the staircase.
Overall, we highly recommend Paragon Stairs for their quality products and excellent customer service. While there may be some unexpected hurdles along the way, their team is always willing to help and ensure that their products meet the highest standards. So, don't hesitate to give them a try for your next staircase project!

Mixed Experience with Paragon Stairs: Quality Staircase, Poor Customer Service
I recently bought a spiral staircase from Paragon Stairs for a price of around five to six thousand dollars. The customer service was pretty decent until I paid them the money, but after that, it was a complete disaster. One of the major issues that I faced was that the stairs arrived without a top railing on the landing, which was a critical component. It took them months to send the missing railing, which not only delayed my final inspection but also posed a safety hazard.
I must say that my salesman, whose name starts with a "R," was not very helpful, and the sales manager was equally bad. I had to follow up with them multiple times to get a response, and even then, they were not very forthcoming with information. It was quite frustrating, to say the least.
Despite these issues, I must say that the quality of the staircase itself was pretty good. It was made of galvanized steel, which is a durable material, and it looked quite stylish as well. The installation process was also relatively straightforward, and I was able to get it done without any major hiccups.
Overall, I would say that Paragon Stairs is a decent option if you are looking for a spiral staircase. However, be prepared to deal with some customer service issues, especially after you have paid them the money. If you can handle that, then you should be fine.
Paragon Stairs Review: Good Salespeople, Terrible Shipping - Avoid at All Costs
Paragon Stairs is a company that has some good salespeople. They know how to get your money, but after that, things start to go downhill. The shipping companies they use for delivery are not very good. They won't deliver on weekends, and the time window they give you is from 9am to 4pm. This is not very convenient for people who work during the day. You pay a lot of money for shipping, so you would think they would be more flexible with their delivery times.
I had a bad experience with this company, and I would not recommend them to anyone. They need to find better shipping companies to work with, or they will continue to lose customers. If you want to avoid headaches and frustration, stay away from Paragon Stairs.
Paragon Stairs Review: Don't Waste Your Money on These Guys
Paragon Stairs ain't worth it. I spent a ton of cash on a Spiral stairs from them, but when it finally showed up, it was way too short - like, 9 inches too short. I told the designer dude and he said he'd fix it, but then he sent me a bill for the extension. I told him it wasn't our fault, it was his mistake on the measurements, but it took over a month for them to finally show up with the right size. And now the safety gate is messed up and the designer won't even answer my calls. I've been trying to get through to customer service for weeks, but the dang phone just keeps ringing busy. Don't waste your money on these guys.
Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs: Not Worth the High Price Tag
I gotta say, I'm pretty bummed out about my experience with Paragon Stairs. I was really excited to get my hands on their Aluminum, 6.0" diameter, black coated, 9.5 feet High stair, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. I mean, I paid a whopping $8320.00 for this thing, and I gotta say, I don't think it was worth it.
First off, let's talk about the quality. I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. I mean, for that kind of money, I was expecting something a little more impressive. And when it comes to quality to value, I'd say it's only worth about 1 star. I mean, come on, Paragon, you can do better than that.
And don't even get me started on the installation guide. I'd give it a measly 1 star. It was confusing, hard to follow, and just an all-around pain in the butt. And the delivery? Ugh, don't even get me started. I'd give it 1 star as well. It was late, and when it finally did arrive, it was damaged. Not cool, Paragon, not cool.
And as for customer service? Well, let's just say I wouldn't give it any stars at all. It was terrible. They were unhelpful, unresponsive, and just plain rude. I mean, come on, guys, I'm a paying customer here.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend Paragon Stairs to anyone. I mean, if this is their top-of-the-line stair, I shudder to think what their lower-tier options are like. Save your money and look elsewhere, folks.
Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs: Poor Quality and Lack of Accountability
I recently purchased a spiral staircase from Paragon Stairs and unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. I opted for the galvanized option, but upon delivery, I noticed that the production quality was poor and the galvanization was not properly done. Despite paying a hefty sum of 5K for the stairs, I was disappointed with the quality of the product.
To make matters worse, my contractor informed me that he could not assemble the staircase without making modifications to it. I contacted Paragon Stairs and they initially agreed to cover the cost of my contractor's modifications, which was a relief. However, when I submitted the bill to them, they went back on their word and refused to pay for the damaged product as they had promised.
As a result, I was left with no choice but to pay an additional 4K to repair the defective stairs that were shipped to me. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially considering the amount of money I had already invested in the product.
Overall, I would not recommend Paragon Stairs based on my experience. The poor production quality and lack of accountability for their mistakes left me feeling unsatisfied with my purchase.
Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs: Poor Customer Service and Damaged Products
I gotta say, I ain't too happy with Paragon Stairs. I ordered my custom spiral stair case way back in July of last year, and it's now the end of May and I still ain't got the whole thing. They sent me the stairs in October, but some of the parts were missing and others were all busted up. And let me tell ya, their customer service is a real joke. It takes 'em forever to get back to ya, and when they do, it's usually just to give ya the runaround.
This guy Kahiem is supposed to be in charge of customer service, but he's about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine. He never gets back to ya when he says he will, and when he does finally get in touch, he acts like it's all your fault that the stairs are messed up. I swear, I think they're just trying to drag things out so that you can't dispute the charges on your credit card.
And it ain't like this is the first time they've screwed up, either. This is the fourth time they've sent me damaged or missing parts. I mean, come on, how hard can it be to get a spiral stair case right? It's not like it's rocket science or anything.
All in all, I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with Paragon Stairs. Their customer service is terrible, and their products ain't much better. If you're thinking about ordering from them, I'd say think twice. There are plenty of other companies out there that can do a better job.
Disappointing Experience with Paragon Stairs: Poor Quality and Lack of Customer Support
We was super stoked to get our stairs from Paragon Stairs and put them together. But what we thought would be a piece of cake turned into a total nightmare. The kit didn't come with the right screws (we had to buy them ourselves), the steel railing posts didn't have the holes drilled in them like the directions said they would, and the steps had to be sanded, stained, and sealed by us. Plus, the quality of the steel was pretty subpar. We tried to reach out to the company to get some help with all of our issues, but they only responded once and didn't really seem to care. We definitely don't recommend Paragon Stairs, especially since they charge so much for their spiral staircases. Save yourself the hassle and look for other options.
