Sim Contract not agreed to
On 30th of August 2022 I received a call from a cell c consultant. He offered me a new contract. I was not happy with his unprofessional approach as he told me what he will do. I refused and said he must call me after work in order for me to think about it. Hence at 16:35 I received a sms that my order is approved I never agreed to it. Since then I am struggling to sort this out this problem. I had to run around for something that is not my fault.
I have call and have sent many emails to cells exclusive department. What is upsetting is that i always have to make follow up. I also went to Cell c store in N1 City, and was informed that they also does not get any feedback.
Desired outcome: I wish that Cellc can take accountability in this regards.i want all the money deducted payed back to me.

Fibre from cell c

I have called Cell C and informed them on the 1st of November that I’ll be moving properties on the 27th November. Its the 24th today and the matter is still not sorted. I have a very important meeting to attend, but as things stand I need to maybe just make another arrangement because I don’t believe they will have the matter resolved.
Since the beginning of my relationship with Cell C they have dropped the ball so many times that I don’t actually know why I’m still with them.
In the last 3-4weeks I’ve spoken to multiple agent. Very nice people but they are clearly working in a company with a dysfunctional process.
Lately, for the past week I was ask 4times to agree to the new debit order so we can finalise the order of the new line. Because apparently you cannot just keep you contract to the new address.
Now the downside is that they are the middleman, Vumatel still needs to be contracted to do something as well and only heck knows how long that will be taking.
My argument is not just the annoyingly bad service and experience I’ve had with them, they are making me jump through so many hoops and let me not answer my phone once ,because I’ve actually have a job that is more important than hearing the disappointment, they would send me an email informing me that they couldn’t reach me.
I do think that companies that want to step into the market and compete with the big guys should make sure that they know how to deal with the process , because their inexperience clearly shows. Anyone that’s think of joining CellC maybe give them a skip because I don’t think my request is difficult, I’ll be moving properties, to a property that’s already fibre ready.
I’ve been logging so many calls and spoke to so many people that giving specifics will take so long. The two agents I’ve dealt with last was Siphelele and Nobility.
I will be sending a formal compliant on the 27th November to both the Ombudsman and ICASA if this matter is not resolved. I will also invoice CellC for the inconvenience and for the additional costs incurred if they do not deliver. And maybe just to inform the rest of society I’ll send a play by play feedback to my editor friend and warn society that if you are with CellC that you rather make sure you don’t move properties.
It is utterly unacceptable that I have to be treated like this and companies like this still come to you and debit you the full amount and don’t give any gesture of apology. My time costs money in the same way lawyers and engineers enjoy.
Get you house in order CellC and fix my problem. Also consider me gone if you have not sorted my matter out.

Unethical conduct
Absolutely horrified with their level of service to say the least!
They upgraded my contract to x 3 times the amount WITHOUT my consent. When I wanted to cancel my contract, the rude consultant indicated that she can not assist because my details are incorrect and could not be verified by the system, this is just after I have spoken to another consultant who were able to verify my details, and casually said "go to a store to cancel".
After leaving a review on Hello Peter, I was contacted by them only to be told AGAIN that they cannot assist with the cancellation because the system were unable to verify my details.
So they steal from you and then make it impossible to cancel your contract!
After reading other reviews and Facebook comments, it became evident that I am not the only one ... so is this how they are making money?
Unethical, pathetic company I NEVER want to be associated with.

Mobile account
I took out a Cell C mobile contract in February 2022. The debit order to go off on the 10th of each month. In March my account was debited for part of February and full amount for March (R855,58). April and May debit order went off without any problems. In June, Cell C customer care contacted me advising I'm one month in arrears. I checked my bank account and the debit order for May of R534 did go off my account but I noticed that the debit order for June did not go off although there was sufficient monies in my account on the 10th. I then made a payment directly via EFT on 22 June for R539,01 (interest incl). Cell C then debited my account on 25 June for R534. This means they got paid double in June. Since then I had made numerous calls, spoken to numerous agents to set the record straight, sent numerous emails with PROOF of payments made. Every time I'm advised, they are working on it, or the matter is resolved but never is, just to receive another phonecall advising my account is in arrears and so it went on backwards and forwards for months. After 5 months I have totally given up. In the meantime, I have continued to pay my account via EFT sending proof of payment to them, but they still have the audacity to debit my account up to 5 times in one month, adding R70 per "insufficient funds" on to my account?! I kept all the proof, bank statements, a long list of phonecalls made, who I spoke to and my emails sent to them. I have proof of everything, but for some reason they are not efficient enough to pick up their mistakes. My credit score is affected by this as well. According to my records, I'm up to date with my account. Can someone please help me.
Should you need any or all proofs of payment etc, I will gladly send same.

Not being able to blacklist my phone
I owe 2 months on my Cell C contract. I made arrangements to pay this.
However my phone got stolen on the 5th of November. Cell C is now refusing to give me my ITC number. I even got an affidavit and took it to a store and you guys are STILL refusing.
I am still willing to pay the outstanding amount but no one wants to help me and now I am without a phone and cant even claim from the insurance.
I know of people that have been handed over and could still get there ITC numbers why are you guys refusing this? I am not even given the option to activate my account again. This is such a bad experience
I please need this resolved urgently i can't earn a living without a phone

Cell C Contract
Your consultant offered me three data contracts, with the agreement that I could also load call time, however, the contract limits me to only data, and I cannot add call time to my monthly spend, nor load directly from my bank!
Today, 10/11/2022 marls the fourth time, I have called to try and migrate the contract to one where I can load both.
In an era where people work with phones, this is utterly disappointing that it get's limited to one or the other!
Desired outcome: My contract to be migrated to a contract where I can have both options available, at more or less the same monthly cost, or the contract cancelled so i can return to pre paid!

Cell c mobile contract
I entered into a contract agreement with cell c in November 2018. my cell phone was stolen/robed in April 2019. I requested for sim-swop but cell C couldn`t assist me with reasons known by them.
I continued paying the contract and it was due in November 2020.I phoned and arranged for cancellation of the contract but cell c didn`t do it instead they deducted the account up until July 2021 when I decided to do reversal in my account. In February 2022 they handed my account over to their legal department. I just find out in October 2022 when I was applying for my daughter`s student loan that cell c has blacklisted my name in the credit beaurox.
All I need is the settlement letter that I have fully paid the account in November 2020. I do not even care about the money that was illegally deducted from December 2020 to July 2021.
Desired outcome: ALL I NEED IS JUST A SETTLEMENT LETTER.
Cell C is a scam, I will warn everyone I know not to buy or to get to any deal with cell, this is so frustrating and out of order.

Unable to port out from cell c
I started porting my number from 04/10/2022 and it failed 7 times so far and there's no resolution. The porting department would either advise me to try again or I'm told they have escalated the matter to their back office which I cannot speak to and I never receive any feedback for that "Back office" which I think does not exist. Yesterday (08/10/2022) I was told the issue has been resolved because it wasn't just me that had the problem. I went to Telkom, they did their part successfully. I got the Cell C sms and I replied with just the OTP within a minute as I have been doing. I called them today, still failed. WHY IS CELL C BLOCKING ME FROM LEAVING THEM?

Being overcharged for nonexistent contract
I took a phone and later added a router at cell c in 2018. 2021 July I asked them to block my cards because my phone was stolen and the person was using my phone and number, they cancelled them. When I reactivated I only reactivated my cellphone number and not the router one. I called them asking about this, they said I had two contracts with them plus top up. I asked for proof of this and the consultant cold not find the proof of the contract she mentioned and escalated the case [protected]. Funny thing is during the security check they ask me how many contracts do I have I say 1 and pass the security check which should not be happening if I do have a 2nd contract. On my cell c app there is only the R99 contract showing, the one I know of yet I am billed R538 every month. I called to follow up they said they closed the call because they tried to call me (one time) I have been the one calling to follow up the other times. So I asked the consultant to open another case and escalate it link it with the old one, nothing has came out of that one as well. I would need their communications in writing via email at this point because it doesn't seem like they are even investigating this. I am really tired of telling the same story to your many consultants and still not be assisted.
Desired outcome: Proof of the contract and recordings of the day they say I upgraded my data contract. I want them to pay back my money and cancel every contract except the R99 one because it's recent and I will cancel it once it expires.

Paid Up Letter
I have been trying to get a paid letter from Cell C for some time now - my account was settled under debt review a long while ago, this is the only paid-up letter standing between me and my final clearance certificate. I've tried calling, I've emailed every possible "customer" address and my debt counsellors have done the exact same and all we get is crickets. They are all over you like a rash when you owe them money but when all you need is the record to say you've paid then silence!

Purchasing a new contract on my existing account
For the past two weeks i have been trying to open a 2nd contract on my name for my son. they assist me with a new contract and says its approved, but then after 2 days i will contact the contracts department to see how far my order/delivery of the new cell phone will be, only to hear it has been rejected. when i do ask the reason why i get put trough from one department to the next with no assistance. i then went the route of re applying for a new cell contract for my son with the exact same problem, ie contract has been rejected and been put through to different departments without any answer as to why. this contract is for my son for his birthday and his birthday has come and gone and still i dont know why the contract has been rejected.

Hi : Since August 2022 I have been experiencing a huge problem where Cell C debited money without any dispute but it says my account had not been paid. The bill keep pillling up with charges that am not aware of.
I called customer care service since 10th of September since now no one is help but instant they hang up on line. I decided to pay my account using a direct deposit to pay for my account from 4 days prior but still they charge me for for that.. Currently my bill are too high, no payment update instead Cell C keep deducting R66 from my account without my Concern and I received my statement a night before my payment
How will I settle for this Matter
Contract cancelation - impossible process
On the 1st of November 2022 I called to cancel my contract as it is at end of term on the 6th of December.
I was told to call again on the 7th of November to give 1 month notice.
I called before this date in July and August to cancel. I was informed on both occasions this had to be done on the first day of November.
When trying to cancel via 084143 and 147 service it takes forever to go through the menu or you are placed on hold for well over 5 minutes.
I called 6 times on the 1st of November only to be told on the last call to try again the 7th.
The agent before that could not help me because I failed the verification process which I used the next call only to succeed.
Even while trying to cancel due to affordability they still try and sell me a new contract. No respect for resolving my request, rather just want to get me to continue paying.
I am now fearing that they will tell me on the 7th that I had to cancel on the 1st and that the contract is going to auto renew and that I can not cancel and have to pay a penalty for not giving enough notice as per my contract.
Desired outcome: Cancel my Contract before renewal on the 6th of December.

A company of crooks, they did the same to me.
Put it on email and cc Complaints@thencc.org.za so when they do these run around forcing us to take new contracts but somehow the cancelation department disappears on the day of cancelation then you know what to do. You send all correspondence and drag them to filth.

Last year in July, I gave notice to Cell C to end dongle stick contract. They read the e-mail, but did not cancel the contract. End of that month, I received an invoice. Again I contacted them, they said they will cancel, but did not. After that, books of communication has been going on between me and Cell C, but they do not credit the "arrear" amount as they are suppose to. They handed me over to attorneys, and I explained to them as well the whole useless situation. Yet, they keep calling me. And now my credit score is affected as I am 2 months in arrears with Cell C (WHICH I AM NOT!)
Desired outcome: Write off the alleged arrears amount as I gave proper notice. Staff of Cell C did not do their work and now my credit profile is negatively affected.

Loan phone
I just got my 2 months old phone (contract) booked for technical issues. It's anl Samsung A73. The store is refusing to give me a loan phone at the moment, they have excuses every time I go to the branch. This is a huge inconvenience for my livelihood! Paid up letter
Paid up the account 25/5/2022 , I have not received a paid up letter.i last requested one this afternoon at their shop and was told it will take long for me to get a paid up letter as the people at their shops are requesting on clients behalf 🙄.
I called in on the 11/10 and was told that they will request on my behalf,which is not guaranteed but just to give benefit of the doubt. I was also told that I can also try send a request on my side only to find the email given by staff member was incorrect.

August 2022, i took a sim - data contract with Cell c.
It didnt work the whole month then i called them and told them my problem. The agent told me that everything was fine on 5he system. But still no network coverage..
September i called them again and another agent told me that they gave me the wrong package that doesnt support my network area. I told them that its not my fault they must cancel the contract because i cannot pay for something im not using. 😭😭
Yhooo these people dont wanna help me, they debit in my account and when i call them they always tell me that tbey gonna lodge a complain, theygonna call me befor 48hrs. After 2 days when i call them back they busy telling me that theyve been trying to call me and my phone was off. Which is a lie they dont call me back.
I want cell c to cancel that contract because its not my fault, they gave me the wrong package.

Leak of personal information / Breach of POPI Act
Good day,
Kindly note that I have recently been contacted by no less than 2 strangers. When asked where they obtained my number, they promptly advised that same was given to them by CELL C. Please see below screenshot of one of the most recent interactions.
Please advise why CELL C is leaking my information/number to third parties? This is a breach of the POPI/POPIA Act and I didn't agree nor consented to my information being "spread around". You know I can sue you for this, right?
I suggest you conduct an internal investigation and establish how my information got out and by whose authority. As I deem this unacceptable that third party companies are being fed same.
