Add on insurance that was sold to me on part financed car
Hi
My car registration is CX17 PDZ where I paid deposit of 7, 000 and the rest on finance. Total just over £12, 140 plus the 2 insurances.
Aaron Leathem sold me 2 add on insurances that one was gap insurance which he explained would pay out full amount of car that I paid for in the event I had an accident. He then mentioned another insurance that would cover dents and bumps to the car that would be beneficial, where if I had body work damage this insurance would pay out for body work damage.
I collected my car on the 20/9/21 and had a look at the car before I paid the £7000 in the card machine.
I did see a few scratches and scuffs that were promised by Aaron that they would be sorted before purchase.
I mentioned to him why these hadn't been done. He told me to put it through the body work insurance as they would do a better job. I felt very stressed and nervous as he said he needed me to pay for car as was nearly 5.30 and the card machine wouldn't work after that.
I needed the car urgently as live in Larne. I called the office a week or two later to find out by another gentleman that I didn't have insurance for bodywork but for another one which I didn't ask for. It's a wax and upholstery protector which we never discussed.
I'm so upset and feel il never trust a car salesman again. Jonathon (manager)has advised me to report this to yourselves. He has been very helpful and has booked my car in tomorrow for the scuffs and scratches that Jonathan promised would be done before I bought the car.

Desired outcome: Refund for insurance I didn’t ask for
Part failure
I own a Toyota Auris (2007) which I am very proud to be the owner of, however recently the power steering ECU failed causing me to park the car at the roadside.
I rang Charles Hurst Newtownabbey and explained what had happened. I expressed my annoyance with a problem of this kind which happened on a 3 year old car. I asked them if this would be fixed under warranty due to the nature of the problem, which they replied 'we will speak to Toyota on your behalf and get back to you'. They rang back shortly after my phone call and explained that since the car had ran out of warranty (only 2 months!) they would not be prepared to act on this case. For me to get this issue resolved I would have to pay £380.00+VAT for the part and £300.00 for labour. I obviously was not going to pay this amount for a 3 year old car.
I rang around and decided to ring Curtis cars in Ballymena which they offered me the part and labour costs of £450.00. I thought this was a bit better but still dear. My wife later rang and explained the full situation again to Curtis cars and they rang Toyota to see what they could do. Toyota had offered me discount of the part, something Newtownabbey did not tell me about. Curtis cars then gave me a further price of £290.00 for the part and labour!.
How can Charles Hurst Toyota Newtownabbey charge this amount and get away with it?.
Therefore I am making a formal complaint against this company

My Girlfriend bought a second hand car from Charles Hurst, There was a problem with the car after she had it a couple of months so she left it in Charles Hursts and they fixed it, when she went to collect the car they told her who ever was servicing the car in the past had'nt been doing a good job the brakes were bad and other work had been neglected then she showed them the service book fully
stamped by CHARLES HURST.
These people at charles hurst are the biggest bunch of Liars on the planet, they will tell you anything, and are to stupid to realize you can check elsewhere. the worst seems to be the motability adviser in the Portadown branch who tell customers she is putting
this and that on the car extra when it is Vauxhall standard spec, also has the receptionist tell customers she is off work when she is there all the time, all this I can prove, always record what these wasters tell you for future reference.
Defective Toyota Auris steering ECUs?
Toyota Auris cars apparently often have defective steering ECUs! They are therefore unsafe at any speed until this problem is addressed by TOYOTA and remedied!
We have a similar case here on Gran Canaria where on a Toyota Auris with only 62, 000km the power steering ECU failed completely whilst driving and caused complete loss of steering because the steering locked up and so the car could not be steered! Toyota dealer here just shrugged it off and the repair - replacement of the defective ECU - cost over 620 EUROS!
Toyotas with these problem ECUs are unsafe at any speed und should be recalled and the defect remedied! Here action by the EU in Bruxelles is clearly required! Any suggestions? Please write in!
