CitiMortgage insurance claim

State Farm Insurance Policy # 56-BA-G5661
Fire Damage Claim; #32-K-159-803
Date of Loss: 7/8/2009

Proceeds of $72, 079.50 were written to Citibank, endorsed and cash without my knowledge. I have been seeking assistance in this matter since February 2015, to date I've gotten no resolution from Citibank.

I've spoken and emailed Kyle, Joy, Patty, Lisa, Geneva repeatedly since on or before January 2015, regarding same. Citibank then claimed to have release my outstanding mortgage debt that was already discharged in a bankruptcy filing, and the amount that was supposedly released was less the insurance proceed check that I did not endorse, it was reissued to whom I don't know and no one seems to be making this a priority.

CitiMortgage they changed the mortgage conditions and I owed huge amount of money

I took a mortgage and I had financial problems to pay it off. I got several letters from Citi Mortgage co. I have paid small installments and asked to lower the sum of payments, because I couldn’t pay it off now. They agreed and within one year I have paid off the necessary sum. However, they changed the conditions of the mortgage and provided the letter, where they informed that the interest rate has been increased. Now I owe them a huge amount of money and should pay it within 12 months. It is disaster.

CitiMortgage pay off of a mortgage

My complaint is against Citi Mortgage due to the way that my Pay off of my Mortgage has been treated. Me and my husband filled out for bankruptcy on Oct. 2014 We signed a Reaffirmation agreement with CitiMortgage and the bankruptcy lawyer sent it to CitiMortgage. When my husband passed away on Nov 2014. I got the life insurance from my husband and I sent the payoff for the mortgage to Citi Mortgage. I was short on my payment by $1, 161.00 dollars. This was in April 2015, when I request from them the payoff; they said they could not do it because I was in bankruptcy. BY the way I CAME OUT from Bankruptcy on July 2015. When I spoke to my lawyer he told me they had the Reaffirmation agreement they should not deny my payoff. When I kept calling them about this, they still keep denying me my payoff. Finally my bankruptcy lawyer found out in August of 2014 that the bank did not record my Reaffirmation agreement. I requested from them my payoff again after my lawyer found out that they not recorded my RA and the payment was almost two thousand dollars now. They explained to me that the amount has been rising because the interest that they have to apply to the remaining balance until now. I have been calling this bank since April 2015 when I sent my payoff. I tried calling the bank executive asking them why I have been punished to pay interest when the fault was on their side. Because according to my lawyer I should not been paying interest since they had everything to apply the payoff and communicate to me the remaining balance. Since my husband dead this has been the worst nightmare. My husband was a servicemen of this country . So I am being punished for an error that CitiMortgage did. I have filled out a Complain with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau but at the same time I want everybody to know that CitiMortgage is not the company to make business with. I tried to contact the Office of the President but they would not give me any phone or address. This people are rude heartless they are there only to see how much more interest they can get from people like me. Finally I paid the pay off with the interest on Dec 2015 before the keep applying more interest to the remaining balance. I want the back to recognize that they acted in bad faith. I want the interest of 1359 dollars back to me. This interest was applied to a balance of 1161.10 and my mortgage interest was 4.5 % so you can tell here they are abusing. I want and indemnification for all the grieving, rudeness and bad customer service that added more pain to my husband dead.

I also have a complaint with Citimortgage. They have lost my payments and it has taken them 9 months to tell me what month they now can't find. 6 months ago our mortgage was redone. This payment that they say they can't find should have been included in the new mortgage. However I have sent them bank statement showing I made all my payments. Citimortgage has now sold my loan to a new company and I refuse to send my payments to them until this is cleared up. They still go to Citimortgage. What a screwed up company. Include me in any class action lawsuits.

My home mortgage was bought by CitiMortgage in 2008. Since than 3 times I have received a letter from them stating we misses a payment, they added extra interest and penalties that went into the thousands. The first time they said the payment we missed was from 2005 ya that's right we didn't have our mortgage with them at that time.
I have gone to great length to prove to them they were wrong. They had me jumping through hoops and still did not admit to doing anything wrong after I sent them proof from my bank that all payments have been made. Here we go again for the last 4 months I have had to go through this again at the same time I have had 2 major cancer surgeries..I have not received a statement, continue to send my payments in. Recently found out they do not even report payment to the credit bureau. As soon as I fully recover I will be looking to refinance. This company is the worst, they try to ripe you off every chance they get

I have been paying my mortgage ahead, but they have been holding onto the payments.I filed bankruptcy but not on my home, I am keeping my home.I just received a letter saying i owe almost 10, 000.00 for payments not received and late fees.I've paid and i disagree with them.I think somebody is carrupt at citimortgage now that i've seen all these other people that are so upset by them.Should'nt they have to submit some kind of proof.I can prove I 've paid.

CitiMortgage unethical behavior

I purchased my home back in 2005 and made on time payments for almost 10 years. I had to move for a job and rented the home out and continued to make on time payments even when the renters stopped paying. After a long eviction process the house was destroyed. I spent thousands getting the house livable again and then realized I just didn't have any more money to continue to pay it. I contacted the bank and they told me they could do a deed in lieu if I paid off the equity ln. I got a personal ln to pay off the equity and then did the deed in lieu. It was a long and horrible process where I went through stress on a daily basis. After it was complete May 29th I signed the documents with a notary. Then this week I recieved a water bill saying that I owed over $200 in water from June through the end of September. Even though I had asked the water company to switch it out of my name back in June and filled out paperwork to do so they never did because the bank didn't do their part. CitiMortage now refuses to pay the over $200 bill and the water company says they cannot move a past bill to anyone elses name even though the property records show I didn't own it that whole time. I am so dissappointed that Citi won't make this right when the $200 would be nothing to them and it means a lot to me.

CitiMortgage they took $1, 000 and refused to help me

I wanted to remove my ex-wife from the mortgage. I contacted the company Citimortgage, and the representative told me to pay $1, 000 and they would do the job quicker. Ok, I paid and waited for the news, but they refused to help and denied to return the funds, which I have paid them. I don’t get it what requirements they used and why they have denied. I’m working and have good credit records. I simply don’t understand. Why didn’t return money?

CitiMortgage delay in disbursing money for rebuild after [protected] flood in houston

My house was flooded on 5-26-. 2015 and CitiMortgage has received 30 days ago $104, 000.00 from Farmers' flood insurance for the rebuild.

Despite multiple requests to disburse a first check to my Contractor and allow me to start rebuilding my home, CitiMortgage finds every possible reason to delay start paying my contractor. One of these reasons is the issue of the Builder's/Contractor's license, which Citi must know from having thousand of Texas clients, does not exist in the State of Texas. Indeed the builder has sent proof of his 2 million dollar liability insurance and W9 form. Now Citi tells me for weeks they are internally "examining" an exception request for the lacking Contractor license while sitting on my $104, 000.00 Insurance money and billion dollars of other flood victims. I don't know what else to do recover the insurance money sequestered by Citi in order to start rebuilding my house. I am appalled that a financial institution that had requested billion of dollars in bail out from the government and had to pay penalties for reckless financial behavior is at liberty to sequester third party insurance money leaving the flood victims without relief.

CitiMortgage they will not correct your credit report

Citimortgage will not correct our credit report! They claim we did not make payments or only sent in partial payments which is incorrect we have proven this many times. We have every copy of the checks that we summited and they cashed. They are telling us they cannot correct our credit report. We know this is not true because the financial establishment they turned us over to did correct our credit report from the date they aqquired our loan but they cannot correct citi's part because citi has to do this. We have asked citimortgage numerous times to correct this and we always get the run around. We had to hire a lawyer who has all the documentation proving we were in good standing with citimortgage. We feel citimortgage is making ng fraudulent reports on us and we want it corrected immediately we have been going thru this for 18+ months. No one should have to suffer for something they did not do, especially when we can prove we made each and every payment on time and in full!

CitiMortgage holding my claim check

My husband and I put in a claim for the repair of our roof. Our Insurance company, after a couple of months, finally sent us a partial check enough to get the materials but we had to have everybody invovled to sign the check and send it ti Citimortgage in which they said they would cut us a check after they reviewed our claim. My contractor couldn't believe they worked this way, he said he NEVER ran into such a problem like this. It has taken Citimortgage over a month now to finally decide they were going to send us a check, WE all said WHAT? This was unbelievable that they had to DECIDE IF they would send us our claims check. This made no sense to any of us, unbelievable. Any way they said it would take 5-7 days for them to print the check, we said WHAT again. 5-7 days to print a check? This bank should not even be in business because they have no idea what they are doing. The money it has costs us to fax paper work,
the money it has cost us to do temporary repairs on the roof so the water would stop coming in. WE think THEY owe us more money than what the insurance check is for Citimortgage should pay US for all these extra costs. I am reporting them to the Attorney Generals Office because I think they are in the wrong for what they have been doing. I hope other people with problems with them will do the same thing so maybe we can get this crooked business CLOSED! Thank for reading this complaint!

CitiMortgage sudden switch of mortgage carrier without notification

On August 26, 20014, I mailed Citi Mortgage, Inc., my regular Mortgage payment due on 9/1/14. On approximately 9/3/14, I received a letter from GreenTree dated 8/25/14, notifying me that my mortgage had been switched over to them and as of September 1, 2014, all Mortgage Payments were to be sent/paid to GreenTree. Concerned about the payment I had just mailed to CitiMortgage, I contacted CitiMortgage, who claimed (for the 1st time EVER) that they had not received my payment and suggested I call them back in a week to recheck on if they had received my payment. On 9/11/14 I followed up on this issue, with CitiMortgage, speaking to "Eden-Oper#89047", who told me that CitiMortgage still had not received my check and suggested I cancel it out, and call GreenTree to make new payment. Eden also stated that if Citi Mortgage did receive check it would be forwarded to GreenTree and cashed through them. I told Eden I am disabled and low income and couldn't afford to have the mortgage payment taken out twice (by having to make a 2nd September Mortgage payment to GreenTree, yet having CitiMortgage forward my original payment to GreenTree to be cashed in also), and Eden again suggested I cancel the original Mortgage payment made out to CitiMortgage. I then asked Eden who was going to pay for the cancelation fee since this whole situation was not my fault, but rather that it was CitiMortgage who did NOT inform me whatsoever that my Mortgage was being switched over to GreenTree and after Eden checked with her Supervisor, she said that if I wrote CitiMortgage's Research department, with proof of cancelation fee of $35, as well as a letter as to why I felt I should have the $35 reimbursed back to me, the Research Department would review this, call me, and I would be reimbursed. I then made sure that Eden had my correct phone number on my account and ended the call with Eden promising me that upon CitiMortgage receiving my information, somebody would contact me from the Research Department within 7 days. On September 18, 2014, when my bank could give me proof of the cancellation fee, I promptly faxed all the above requested information to Citi Mortgage' Research Department. On 9/25/14, I again called CitiMortgage to follow up, and spoke to Stephanie Oper#89049. I stated to Stephanie that I had not heard back from the Research Department as I had been promised, and she said that not only had CitiMortgage received my information for the Research Department, but that CitiMorgage had long ago received my payment and forwarded it to GreenTree (they actually had my payment in hand on 9/11/14, when I had spoken to Eden and Eden had told me otherwise!). Stephanie then said she would now forward all this information to her Supervisor who will look at my account and call me within 7 days to have the $35 escalated to me. I again gave her my correct phone number. On 10/7/14, when I STILL had not heard anything from ANYBODY from Citi Mortgage, I phoned CitiMortgage and spoke to Chris Id#77517, who then when he went to access all updates regarding my account, put me on hold and lost my call! I immediately called back and spoke to Emily, Oper# 77511. Emily then told me that the Research Department is working on my case. I could NOT get specifics out of Emily and in frustration, told Emily that I was told the same information for the past 3 weeks and that after being promised a phone call back from the Research Department on a continual basis, I had received NOT ONE CALL BACK in reference to my being reimbursed as promised, let alone any kind of response (via email, etc)! I then found out from Emily that CitiMOrgage still had my old phone number they were using to contact me, despite that I had informed them each time I phoned them, of my updated phone number! I informed Emily that I was NOT going to again call CitiMortgage back again but would take it beyond CitiMortgage if this wasn't resolved immediately! She asked me to give them 2 days to call me back, stating that she would have this escalated (something I had been told each time I called!), and once again promising that if I did this, somebody from the Research Department would call me back. Today is October 14, 2014 and I STILL have NOT had any response whatsoever from CitiMortgage, No phone call back, no email, NO RESPONSE!

CitiMortgage loan modification foreclosure

I was granted a loan modification, due t the fact I fell behind on my payments, when my home was damaged by a flood that was not covered by insurance. We did everything that was required by the bank, on time, and was led to believe that our modification was in progress and was instructed to NOT make any payment until modification was complete. By trusting the instructions given by the bank, I lost my home waiting for the process to be completed. After filing a complaint with the OCC regarding this matter, I was contacted by a Citibank employee by telephone, and they proceeded to make fun of what they had done to us, which was very hurtful. I do have all the names of employees that I dealt with throughout this entire ordeal.

CitiMortgage refinanced

I want to sue citi mortage for predatory lending practices I refinanced with my husband. Not only did the charge me $6, 000 and GFE was $3.000 I been over paying on flood insurance by 45.000 yep u heard me and because I never received new deed paid 1000 for that . I cannot talk to fema insurance because my name Is not on that either. It goes up 19.000per year .moral of story they lost my escrow I had to pay that. It was there fault mortgage closed late we paid for 8 yrs for nothing and all said and done . They also were our mortgage company all they had to do was save me the 3.4% interest rates . That's whole reason for this nightmare that I still can't fix 2yrs 5 months later nothing changed except we still owe more than we borrowed back In 2005 and I'm paying fema 139. 513. And they say we only need to pay on 107.000 coverage ludicrous. We owe citi mortage 57.000 plus 148 per month to fema insurance . I AM The most PISSED Off CUSTOMERS THEY HAVE AT THE MOMENT. I CONSTABLES MYSELF ELIGIBLE FOR GOING AFTER THEM . As SOON AS I Can I'm leaving these thieves. I have made so many calls no one available they went as far as forging my husband name. I hope by all the greif they caused me emotional and physically stress .I want the to pay for their Incompetence .

I have talked to them at least 15 times on phone 1-800-283-7918. Emailed them www.citimortage.com I've twittered them 20 times. Nothing is resolved this month I paid 1.023 for fema thru my insurance agent because remember my name not on deed so they won't talk to . Anyways they paid $ 1, 951 and I see fema refunded it back to Citi guess I'll have to wait and see what they Decide. Also they received 100 for home owners they wanted to pay . I have all the canceled checks and paperwork to sue them for predatory lending pratices. I know I would win. I need to hear from other ppl who they been ripping off for 11 years like that have done to me. Nothing is resolved and now my credit card debt is growing sucks.

CitiMortgage payoff

During the final three months of payments with CitiMortgage they added late fees that weren't due. They combined the extension interest (795.00) into the regular payment. Then when I sent in my payment on time they reported me to the credit bureau's as being over 90 days late So my normal payment with them was $581.00 a month. In January they cashed my check on the 16th but then said the payment wasn't $581.00 but $1860.00. The same for Feb and March. I can't even figure out where they came up with this amount. When I spoke with them I was assured these charges would be removed and a report issued to credit bureau correcting the problem. Today, I called and found out this was a flat out LIE.

Over the course of this ten year refinance with them EVERY time I made an extra payment or paid extra on the principle it was applied wrong. These errors aren't a mistake with this company. I believe they teach employees to take on as many fees as they can get away with adding.

CitiMortgage customer deception

Background: 8 years with Citibank; never missed a payment; excellent credit.

Tuesday, January 14: contacted (via "live chat") an agent ("Jason") to discuss refinance options. I told Jason that I had resources to pay down current balance significantly, then would like to proceed to refi on that balance. I said I was looking at many lenders' proposals, but wanted to stay with Citibank if possible given my tenure with them, and depending on what Citi could offer as comparison.

Jason assured me that because Citi valued me as a long-time client in excellent standing, he would cut an additional .1225 percent from the current rate, and quoted me figures that sounded promising. He also followed up with a phone call, and said this cleared with his manager. Said he would email me the application and details immediately following this call, to include this client reward reduction, and that, once approved, this process could be expedited, due again to my "customer loyalty."

In this conversation, I directly asked Jason if I could expect any problems or retractions in the refi process from Citi following the pay-down of balance to much lower figure. "That will not be an issue, " I was assured. "This will all be handled during the closing."

Wednesday: Still no email from Jason.

Thursday: Letter from Citbank, dated Jan 15, stating that that my loan will be transferred to Seterus, Inc effective Feb. 1. Citi wanted to also take the opportunity to say "thank you." As an aside, Seterus appears to be a shady, shifting entity that has received more negative reviews than Citi, to include from the BBB.

This is Citibank's gesture of thanks to a loyal, responsible customer. Their loss of teensy capital = decapitation of customer.

CitiMortgage over charge

In 2010 after refinancing, our mortgage was purchased by Citi. I have been paying our mortgage through their online site since then. In December I set up the payment for 1/1/2014. On 1/6/2014 I went to my bank's on line service (Bank of America) to pay some other bills and found that CitiMortgage had taken double the amount that I authorized. I called and was given a case number and told that the overage would be returned to me in 2-3 business days. Here we are now 5 business days after I informed them of the error (10 days after they have taken the unauthorized funds) and they still have not returned the money. Every day we call and are promised that it will be taken care of later in the day or at the latest the next day. It turns out that we are one of many, probably thousands. Some people aren't even aware that this has happened, yet. Never once did they contact us with an apology or an explanation. We have had to make every call and ask for every little shred of information. I have contacted government agencies and news outlets about this. But in the mean time we are being held hostage by Citi.

CitiMortgage harassment

I purchased a home and CitiMortgage was our mortgagee. We were going to be late one month due to unforeseen expenses that we incurred one month. I called the bank to notify them and ask for a one month extension. I have had them as our mortgage company for 6 years and in 25 years have never once been late on a mortgage. They denied us. They told us we could fill out paperwork which was extremely intrusive in our lives including our 401K, etc. We did this due to the phone calls that were relentless. Starting at 8:00 am each month before the payment was ever late. We have never gone 30 day overdue. We have been able to make the payment in the month it is due, but are 2 weeks late. We sent back the paperwork fed ex and the calls still came in and continue to do so. I have talked with someone at that company now for over 7 months trying to get them to help us. THey REFUSE. They charge a $75 fee every month that I have to pay and STILL continue to harass. Horrible company to deal with. Wish I could just get out!

CitiMortgage property damage lies and cheats

Citimortgage is a company that lies, cheats and steals money from hard working consumers. They have held up repairs to my kitchen for nearly 2 years. Do not endorse any funds made payable to you and Citimortgage. They will not send you the funds needed to repair your home. They will keep the money. I have not received the money that was sent to me by my insurance company to repair my kitchen. My insurance made funds payable to me and Citimortgage. I followed their instructions and endorsed the check. Citimortgage was supposed to return the funds to my contractor. It is now the 2nd year and these ### have yet to send me my money!
Do not trust Citimortgage. Do not endorse any checks to them. They will steal your money. Citimortgage is a theif and a cheat! Stay away from Citimortgage. Their employees are liars and cheats. They will take your money!

Funds can only by payable to one entity. What you state here is not possible.

Was your mortgage in arrears in some way? If so, they have every right to have kept the money. - COMPLETELY INCORRECT. A DAMAGE CLAIM CHECK IS USUALLY MADE PAYABLE TO THE HOMEOWNER, THE MORTGAGE HOLDER AND THE CONTRACTOR. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

CitiMortgage making home affordable

My parents have been trying to work with Citibank Mortgage for over three years regarding a loan modification. They keep being turned down, and both are on a fixed social security income, which they boyh took at age 62 & no additional form of income.-being told they make too much money, as Citibank adds 33% to their monthy income -that is their formula for determination. Also, they have been trying to get the due date of the loan changed, as they both get their SS checks 3rd Wednesday of every month. Bank refuses, so interest & penalities rack up monthly. And the kicker? They were SUED by Citibank Mortgage because Citibank filed a remortgage deed in the WRONG (Cook) County. Anyone have any suggestions where they go from here?

CitiMortgage money owed for payments

I also was put through a modification that lasted over a year, Citi also demanded I give them all full payments back in the amount of $11, 000 dollars or they were going to foreclose. Citi has now sold my mortgage, and still owes me $2800.00 dollars in payments that they reversed due to Citi mortgage customer service error. I want my money back...Citi employees informed me Citi had never processed a modification and was unfamiliar with how to proceed. Someone please step up and help us...the [protected] number no longer works, surprised, no...thank you Kathy

You need to take action and file the necessary FDCPA complaints right away. It is illegal for Citi to collect funds and not apply them. Furthermore, it is illegal for the new mortgage holder to pursue foreclosure. Citi is notorious for abusing clients that are not represented properly. We have successfully hundreds of cases similar to yours. Feel free to call my office at 877.297.7011 or visit www.thefreshstartfirm.com for more information.
