January 21st, 2024 I enrolled in the Appliance Service Plan from Consumes Energy. Feb 12th I called because my washer was making an odd sound and the sent a technician over that afternoon to diagnose the problem and repair if necessary. The technician arrived a few hours later and opened the dor, spun the drum and said the bearing was bad and that it was a very labor intensive job and that the repair would not be covered by my Appliance Service Plan eventhough the clothes washer was an appliance covered under my plan. This was not disclosed to me prior to purchasing the plan and furthermore, I was never given a copy of the terms and conditions of the ASP during my "free look" period and have requested a copy sent to me several times and to this date, have not received a copy of the terms and conditions. I had the washer disassembled only to find the diagnosis given by the technician was not accurate and that the bearing was in good condition. The problem was a broken drum spider/cross piece. This part is not listed in their list of non covered parts and should be covered under the plan. I informed Consumer's of my findings and they only apologized and have not done anything to rectify this issue. In frustration, I told them to cancel my ASP and refund any monies which they have yet to do. They said they could cancel my enrollment in the ASP but I would be charged $125 for the service call and diagnosis. Mind you, he was in my home less than 5 minutes and incorrectly diagnosed the issue with the washing machine. I will not pay for this inaccurate diagnosis and this has cost me more time and frustration than it is worth. I want consumer;s to cancel my ASP immediately and to refund any monies charged under this plan.
