Energy usage
Someone needs to explain to me how my kilowatt usage can double and triple over last year.
Check my account - [protected] for billings for October 2021 through March 2022. Compare them to the previous year.
I have had the well people here checking the well pump. I've had the furnace and geothermal folks here checking the systems from top to bottom. I've had an electrician here 3 times to check the amperage coming and going from the main to each circuit. ALL are in proper working order. None of these professionals can offer any suggestions why the huge increase. We had a new furnace installed in April 2022 as well as a new well pump in the same month. All are energy efficient.
We use propane for heating, stove, water heater. And as important, we have made NO changes to our day-to-day use of our electricity. The thermostat says at 70 degrees year around.
There isx NO reason why the KW usage is so high. PLEASE explain and take whatever corrective action needed. We are retired and cannot afford these ridiculously high prices.
Desired outcome: Find the problem! Advise what actions you will take to resolve this issue.
Billing/payments
I am a 67 year old women living at 2430 North Oakley Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. Please be advised that I have congenital heart disease and may have to undergo surgery to correct my heart malfunction.
My only source of income is Social Social security and I have attempted to make partial payments on my account. It will not allow me to do this. Your employees have tried to force me into a payment program that would effect my ability able to pay for other necessities such as water, food, taxes and cleaning products. I am willing to pay $200 per month toward my bill but your employees are not happy with this. I do not have any other income! This matter has been very stressful to me. They continue to call me with threatening messages saying my power will be shut of on March 29, 2022. I am a senior, it should be after March 31st.
I await your response.
Jackie Walz; [protected]@yahoo.com
Desired outcome: Payment plan of $200 per month.
Hard restoration
I live at 2330 Sunnyside Ave Lansing, MI 48910. Consumers was conducting grid work in my neighborhood this past summer and late fall.
They removed sections of my sidewalk and part of my driveway.
When I was notified about the concrete work being done, I had no time to remove my Cadillac from my driveway.
I don't drive my Cadillac very often. A few weeks ago, I noticed speaks on my windshield. I was able to clear it off with a scrapper. Not really looking the car over I didn't think about looking the car over. Just after Thanksgiving I took my car to have it detailed and it was pointed out that there was concrete splattered on my hood and front bumper. This is after I ran it through a car wash. The concrete has literally removed paint off my front bumper and areas on my fenders.
Why would your contractor spread concrete so close to a parked vehicle and not waiting for it to be moved or place some sort of tarp to protect the car from concrete splatter.
You can reach me at [protected]. first name Tony Pizzo. The car is still in My driveway
Desired outcome: I would like my vehicle repaired. This is a 2019 Cadillac CT6 special addition.

Payment was made for service installation on 10/20/21 two months after engineering study was complete.
We still have no service installed, even though our liason Garrett James has repeatedly assured us it would be done. Today is the next install date he is lying about.
Not only does he not return phone calls, he is now out until 12/27 and his assistant suggests we wait until the first of the year.
As of Saturday, we are homeless since we are unable get service for our heat.
In order to avoid damage to our new home, we are running portable propane heaters at a high cost.
We need service!

Desired outcome: Install service today as promised
Want my electricity hooked up asap
Still waiting on service since september was told it would take 10 weeks was told by Richard Ralphael this process would take this long he is my contact but not very helpful, we have been waiting to get into our new home for almsot a year the builder cant paint withouth heat due to the weather here adn use furncae with out electicity I dont know why this process has been held up I get the feeling that its not an urgency for Richard and he doesnt care. I started this proces in September received a disign for $1760.00 was originally told it would be no cost he stated we needed an easment but if we went udnerground we didnt so deicided to go underground now we need an easement again the whole process has been stressful and no help from Consumers Energy. We tried to pay $2600.80 over the phone and online the system wouldnt allow so mailed on 11/17/21 still isnt completed now they say they sent an easement was sent in the mail never received now we have to wait for them to resend just an awful unorganized process.
Destruction of personal property 4133 highcrest dr brighton mi 48116
The crew that came to upgrade service to homes on my street were very unproffesional and down right tyranical. They ated like the they owned all of the road and the personal property of all the homes on the street. They riuned my 3 year old, perfectly poured, single slab of concrete driveway to service the home accross the street. They were not even working on my service. In their small minds they decided they would assume the rights to my property and destroy it as they saw fit.
They had equipment parked in my driveway, scrapeded it up, cut out a 4' x 3' section that will never be right again and most likely propogate a crack from the corner of their destructive cut to the corner of my garage. Even a repiar will be unaceptable because the new piece will now be "floating" and will never be flat again.
I saw what they were working on and the pipe was no more than 8" under my driveway and all they needed to do was remove the curb (like every other home) and hand dig back a little. Instead they chose to destroy a 20, 000 driveway. UFB. I guess thats what you get when you have millenials unsupervised. Make sure they all get their trophy.
Desired outcome: Liberty concrete poured a great slab, I suggest you have them come out in the spring and you pay them to remove the entire single slab they poured and replace with another thick single slab.
Service Repair
Thought I had struck Gold! Unfortunately, repairman that was sent to my home on August 30, 2021. The representative that consumers energy sent identified that the issue was a lid switch, ordered a part and instructed that I call once the part is delivered so that it could be repaired. Well, I did my part and called on October 1st, 2021 and was informed by call center representative that the soonest someone could return was Monday, October 4th between hours of 9am-noon. But wait, she was unable to lock in an appointment after bein placed on hold for 20 minutes. The representative returned back to phone only to say that she was unable to reschedule a return appointment and that someone from scheduling would have to call me back. To my surprise again that representative did call me back and advised during our conversation that the 9am-noon appointment was no longer available and that the soonest I could have someone at my home would be October 4th between noon-5pm. Now I am upset I contacted consumers energy to confirm my appointment only to be advised that I have no appointment in their system. But that they are able to schedule me for an appointment for Tuesday, October 5th between the hours of 9am-1pm. How much do you bet that when I call tomorrow to confirm my appointment they will find me, however, the part that I have been holding onto will not fix my washer issues.
Desired outcome: Credit for poor customer service, as a customer I should not be expected to call consumers energy and verify appointments for a service that I am paying an arm and a leg for
Appliance service plan
I have been enrolled in the consumers energy appliance service plan for more than three years I recently received a past due notice on the plan which I paid the same day as I received it however about a week later I needed to use the plan and they informed me that I was canceled because it was late the girl that excepted payment told me it wasn't a problem that I was still in rolled that I had paid the bill before the grace period and ended so I called to renew my planSincerely Paula J Farris
Desired outcome: Reinstated
Oscillating buzzing in my wall
Approximately a month ago, my neighbor says he lost power in his apartment. The neighbor called the landlord, and after a few days the landlord came to check the problem. It seems the landlord did something with/to the utility meters and the power was restored. Was my landlord correct in his action with the meters? Should we be hearing buzzing? Although I have had no problem with my utilities, I took it upon myself to make this complaint because most tenants here seem unwilling to take voices against the landlord, for some reason. This whole scenario just feels wrong to me, and I think someone at CE should see that there is a possible dangerous action here; and should question whether or not the landlord is liable! Can just anyone tamper with those meters whenever they think it will solve their problem? Is "buzzing sounds" in the walls (that were not there previously) normal? I think not: I have lived here 15 years (sadly) and have never experienced anything like this; and my power has been lost due to storms. I hope CE will look into this problem. They didn't due anything when I did contact them for help. The truck came out here, but the tech never got out of the truck, did not speak to my neighbor or me; and then just drove away. Thank you for reading me.
Desired outcome: CE check out this buzzing sound, and review if my landlord committed a crime of some sort , and discipline him.
I think that CE has handled this problem rather badly. When I informed them of the buzzing, it seems to me that instead of telling me that ' you will need to take this problem up with your landlord', after having been told that the landlord was aware of the problem BUT has done nothing, SOMEONE at CE should have been a bit more concerned about client safety and convenience. I sit here a week after contacting CE and there has been no further action(s) taken regarding this problem. I am not one to cry 'Wolf' just because a dog crossed my path. This IS a wolf, and someone with more clout than I have needs to at least check it out. It might be rabid.
My problem has not been resolved. Please do not consider it so.

Power
We lost power in Tecumseh Mi on 8/11/2021 at 410pm., due to a storm. The first restoration time was 8/14/2021 at 8am, I understood due to the storm. This morning I clicked on the map and it stated a crew had been assigned to the area even though I have not seen a crew in the area. Now the power is not due back on to 8/15/2021 until 1159pm. It has been over 85 degrees each day, food is spoiling and temp inside are unbearable. Others lost power after I have and theirs is already back on. This is not acceptable. Do you even care about your customers.
Desired outcome: no bill for Aug reimburse for lost food
Electric service restoration
I live in Michigan, specifically the Wacousta Michigan area. Every time there is a major outage the CE crews work from the Wacousta area (intersection of Wacousta and Herbison roads). They get power restored there and then report "power restored" from Wacousta east to Francis road when in fact it never is restored. I have The crew resets or replaces that fuse and hase restored electricty each and every time.

I reported the exact spot my power is out it would take 1 guy an a pole to get the power back on for my area even supplied a photo of the broke connection an nobody cared to even come look at it an now have to wait 2 more days for power. It's at the corner of vanvleck and Chipman in ionia County I supplied photos of the connection an a map with pin as to where it is
Desired outcome: Send someone out today to connect it
Power outage flip flop
We secured our $1, 000 worth of meat during a power outage (about a half an hour away), they said the power was back on. After a few hours, we loaded all our meat in a cooler to return to our freezer. About 5 minutes from home, we lost power again! Then we had to return all our stuff to the old location. It would of been better to not have turned it back on at all. This is the second time this has happened. Our rates went up this year and our service is horrible. Customer service was rude and not helpful. Wish I could get out of this monopoly. I'd switch power companies in a NY second.
Desired outcome: Switch power companies
Website and general customer service
It is beyond me how a company that provides power to a good portion of the midwest can't even have a functional website; one that makes it nearly impossible to PAY THEIR BILL in a timely and convenient fashion. My time is no more valuable than the next persons, I understand that, and so I do my best to manage my life and affairs in a convenient and efficient fashion while always thinking of the people in and around my life; I'm only one person. Consumers Energy, you have a virtual monopoly on the business of energy service to the area I reside in and I promise you, it isn't that hard to get the little things correct when you have the amount of resources provided to you. DO BETTER, I shouldn't have to log in, log in again, add a payment method and add it again only to find that somewhere along the line, the select a payment date is no longer available and therefor, no payment can be made. I'm guessing you provide these "convenient payment methods" for a reason and I'd hate to see that your money is being wasted on a simple payment platform that only works half of the time. Figure it out, you worthless and unfortunately necessary buffoons.
Yours truly,
Disgruntled enough customer.
Service truck damaging property
I have several issues with Consumer's that I plan to address through the Better Business Bureau. The latest is in regard to calls I made to report a tree that had come down during the recent storms that was hung up on one of the lines running across our property and blocking an access road on our property.
The first call was made during the week of June 21st after several storms had gone through. Two calls were placed that week since I had two different "tree issues" to report. After each call my wife noticed a Consumers car come down our drive and then quickly leave. Never did they make an inquiry to the homeowner to identify the problem(s).
After noticing that cleanup crews had come through the area and that the tree I had called about was still hung up on a line I called again. I spoke with Scott, I believe on June 29th. Scott indicated there was no work order for our property so created order #[protected] to remove the tree.
I also shared with Scott the other issues I had been trying to resolve with Consumers for several years. Scott said he would forward this information to a Ms. Heath.
The next day when I returned from work I saw that a crew had been there and had removed the tree. However they unnecessarily drove though a grassed area leaving large ruts that will need to be repaired.
More distressing, they ran their large tuck into our retaining wall doing damage to a very expensive wall. They knew they hit it but did not attempt to stop to speak with the homeowner either when they arrived or after they hit the wall. Pictures taken show clearly the tire tracks of a large truck running right into the wall as well as the damage done to the wall !
I have seen these truck roar down our 300' driveway several times over the years. They show no care or respect for the homeowner's property, pet safety or anything else except for how quickly they can get in and get out.
The following day Erik (Forestry/[protected]) came to our door. He was there to address another issue I had told Scott about. I had been trying to get answers from Forestry for several years. Erik did not give me the answer I wanted but he at least showed up and came to our door! When told about the wall damage from the previous day he said he would file a complaint for us. Did he?
Consumer's has two easements across our property. Even though these reduce our property value we get nothing in return. We deserve respect for our property and some caring when driving equipment on our private property to reach your easement.
You should be able to identify the drivers that caused the damage. If any of your workers claim they tried to contact the homeowner they are being untruthful. My wife has been confined at home for several weeks recovering from surgery and we have 5 very vocal dogs that alert us to any door knock or doorbell. Ask Erik. He set off the dogs.
So, what are you going to do about it? From my past experiences I don't expect much.

Driver
Today is 03/02/2021 and the incident happened around 12:00 pm. The driver of truck number 36-039 in Alma Michigan was sitting in the southbound turn lane on Wright Avenue at the stop light of West Superior. The Alma College bookstore is to his left. I was to his right in the straight-away lane. When the light turned green, we both left the intersection...

We live on e bacon road in whetland county and have one of your turbines right across the street and now all we can hear is the motor of the turbine and the wushing noise from the blades, we were told there would be no noise from these turbines in a letter we recieved, so now because a land owner didnt want this noise by his home but wanted the monetary benefit we have to live with this noise i think not, wedonot want to listen to this noise every time we want to enjoy our pond and property we bought this property to enjoy it not to listen to all this noise!and we have 3 of these turbines near our home we didnt sign on for these turbines and feel we do not have to live with the negative effects of them, we are home owners and feel we should be able to enjoy the property we pay for!
Very aggressive dangerous driver of consumers energy truck
July 9th 2020
Allendale/ Standale area Michigan
At Cottonwood and Balwin street area. A big Consumers energy truck with an auger on top was riding our bumper for a mile or so until I could pull off. I was going 10 over the speed limit to get away from him he stayed on us. I caught up to him at a stoplight but could only get a plate number.
PF05777. Very scary for us senior citizens . I don't think this young man should be driving a large truck. I called 911 and gave them the plate number. Please get this fool off the road! I will continue calling Consumers Energy until something is done.
