Credit One Bank I hate owning a credit one card

My husband (soon to be ex) signed me
up for this card. The fees are outrageous. I’m charged interest monthly. There is always an additional fee even when I make a payment. Making a payment is also a nightmare because you can’t do autopay. Also contacting corporate is also another issue if you have problems with customer service.

If you are a military family and wanting to exercise SCRA, customer service is useless because they aren’t American and have no knowledge of federal laws. What an experience trying to explain it to someone in Thailand or India! To their credit they tried hard to understand. Their work ethic is by the book so they don't negotiate or reduce fees and if they weren’t made aware it’s like it doesn’t exist! I have no issue with them and totally understand it’s a different culture. They aren’t American and can’t be faulted for lack of knowledge. Take a dollar off? Adjust fees, no way! Only one time I got fees fairly and rightfully adjusted by a Latina woman.

Maybe customer service opened a call center in the USA but to my knowledge one doesn’t exist and that saddens me.

When my husband went active duty I tried to get an American contact for military customers and customer service provided me with a phone number that lead back to customer service. Again I did a background check on the company and found a contact. I have Public Relations & Journalism training so I know how to find people. Credit One top brass exists in the state of Nevada. I do apologize for my hysteria Sirs. I was stressed to my core with a second deployment to Afghanistan within a year of my husband’s return from Iraq.

With this all said, the APP is fine, works well and operated easily with the iPhone X. Cool design, easy access to account(s) and making payments

Credit One Bank SKEPTICAL!

Before I decided to accept my credit card offer from CreditOne Bank, I read through hundreds of reviews. I was so sketchy about it. I too was among the many that at first glance thought it was another offer through CaptialOne. I used my offer code online & accepted that day. After, realized it was actually CreditOne. I immediately went to reviews & read so many bad, horrible experiences. I said, you know what, when it comes I will just not finish the application & cancel the order. Then I found a few good reviews in the mix. I am in the middle of building my credit right now, so I decided to jump with it. I have had this card since November. No issues what so ever. I have 4 credit cards, this one is within the realm of all others as far as interest rate. Annual fee is high, but you know it before hand. & this is only the second one out of four that gives cash back. All the reviews saying they were billed $8-10 a month while not using is obviously confused & did not read their contract. It clearly stated the second annual fee will be charged in monthly installments, that's a lot better than paying the $70-100 at once. Not to mention, don't use the card & just pay the $8-10 bill, that's great for jumping your credit. A bunch of other reviews slammed them by saying that they are charged daily interest. I have used my card for a monthly bill of $100 each month, & I pay it before my next bill comes & I pay ZERO INTEREST. Beware of what you read, a bunch of bad credit people, that don't pay attention to things & blame everyone else for their issues. Pay your bills & maybe you would be in a better position. I do not have perfect credit, but the issues with mine I accept like an adult. Also, they upped my limit $200 after I paid my first bill & DID NOT charge me for that either.

Credit One Bank Shelley

Customer service is friendly and helpful. They have given me a second chance to help me rebuild my credit. This is a good credit card to start off with. I started out with a $600 credit limit. Within six months they offered me a second credit card with a $600 credit limit. At first, I thought this was really great so I accepted it. But now I actually regret accepting the second credit card. The reason why, you get charged a $99 yearly fee that’s broken down monthly and then your interest fee. This is on both of my credit cards. I don’t have a problem with my first credit card I actually really like it. If you’re in a good place with your credit I suggest you not accepting that second credit card. You will still have the yearly fees plus the monthly interest fee on both credit cards and this does begin to add up. Just make sure you pay your bill on time, only if it’s the minimal amount . My monthly payment on each card is $30 a month. But these two fees per-each card usually adds up to about $15 a month. So only around $15 is going towards your balance. If you can pay a larger amount or even pay your balance month, that will help you with your interest rates. You definitely want to download their app I use it all the time to make my payments and to check my statements. I opted out of receiving statements in the mail so I can always view all of my statements online . This works out better for me. They recently have offered to increase my balance on both cards. I’m going to accept it on my very first card but my second card I want to just get it paid off and close it. This card has really helped improve my credit history. And again if they offer you a second card with the high interest rates the yearly fees and you’re in a good place with your credit I suggest you not accept it. I really hope this helps.

Credit One Bank Issue after Issue

I’ve been a Credit One Credit Card holder since October , 14 years with this company, not one late payment, card qualified for the SGLI APR Benefits, and we had a good Creditor and consumer relationship until December. That’s when I identified possible fraudulent activity on my credit card and took the necessary steps to protect my credit which was to reach out to USAA and dispute the transaction in question... The money was returned to my USAA account and only after that I was able to determine that what was initially assessed as fraudulent activity was in fact not. I immediately made a payment to Credit One Bank and 2 days later they “temporarily suspended” my account... mind you my account is still temporarily suspended 4 months later, and I’ve continued to make my payments with my banks automatic payment feature as Credit One does not offer that. Additionally, they “Charged Off” my account for no apparent reason, and when I call to inquire they say it was because I missed payments in October and November, which is not true and I have my bank statements to indicate that. So now my account is in derogatory status with the Credit Bureaus, causing my Credit Score to drop 83 points. I’ve since paid them off in full the entire 1,500 dollars I owed them and awaiting for them to settle my account and remove it from the derogatory status... Not to mention the countless hours I’ve spend talking to “outsource” customer service representatives, who can never answer my questions... They read from a script and when that script is no longer viable they transfer you to someone else, and if you are lucky you will speak to a supervisor if not you will be hung up on... These types of tactics and business practices are truly unfortunate and irrevocable and I would recommend anyone to stay away from this lender, they are predatory and take advantage of people with bad credit... Consumer beware!

Credit One Bank Sweet and sour

Update: Downgraded from 5 stars to 3.
I still love the app but they now have a policy if you try to pay down your bill twice in a month, they lock you out and make 2 small deposits in your bank, then you need to find them and enter the amounts. I’m self employed. I get extra cash some weeks and want to pay down my card.
I don’t have online banking and I don’t save my statements. I can’t comply.
Let’s face it, this company caters to people with poor credit trying to rebuild their credit. They know their clients. They know most of us with poor credit is caused by being unorganized, impatient and procrastinators. Instead of taking 10 seconds to make a quick second payment, they turn it into a long drawn out chore.
I have to risk getting a fatal disease to go into the bank and ask for a print out of my deposit history to satisfy their supposed security measure?!? When they lock me out of paying, they are making the interest they would have lost on the second payment.
They tell me it’s “for my protection” which is BS. Why do I need to be protected from some loony hacker who wants to make a payment on my credit card? I ask that question over and over to the poor schlub who answers the phone but of course he does not have any answer because there is no answer except the true purpose of preventing me from paying down my bill as I get extra cash.
It angers me and I’m working on building up my limit on another card so I can one day phase this one out, but I have years invested in this company to get me to $2500.
Another thing, They sell you minuscule credit line increases for 20% of the increase or more.
I tried calling today to complain, but their phone system mentions the Coronavirus and hangs up on you.

Below was my rating before they started the banking shenanigans.

Great app. Great company.
This is the easiest app to maintain your bills with text alerts and a seamless easy 10 second way to check and pay your bill.
Literally 10 seconds, start to finish.
Great job!

Credit One Bank No AutoPay Feature/Unhelpful contact #s

1)Every credit card company and billing system I’ve ever encountered offers autopay. Credit One is a fairly large creditor to not support that feature in their app. Seriously, get up to speed that’s ridiculous.

2)Their contact numbers listed are literally no help at all. I tried contacting them the minute after I submitted a double payment in error to cancel the latter of the two. I could NOT get through to a live agent using the numbers that they have listed and the options that are given on the automated service. It wasn’t until the next day that I finally thought to just call the number that’s identified for “Lost & Stolen cards”, finally I got to talk to someone and requested to cancel the duplicate payment transaction. They said no, because they could only do that in a 24 hr time frame. Are you kidding me?!? It was still i. The processing state, what a load of BS. And if they actually made it easier to get in contact with an agent, then that would’ve been done! I also got charged a fee for that second payment that i TRIED telling them to cancel. Even though this is honestly because their system is literally terrible, I’m going to be charged a penalty for that. Even though I made my payment successfully on the first transaction. What. The. Hell. So fast forward to this month, I missed the payment date and get at least about 10 calls within the morning I’m at WORK. All from multiple numbers, and get this. They all leave voicemails saying that they can be reached 24 hours a day... so i call back. It goes straight to a live agent. Why the hell aren’t these numbers listed on your God Awful app? Do you only employ live agents 24/7 to harass your clients to payments, but the rest of your ontime paymebt customers are left in the dark only given the contact numbers that literally just get them to your good for nothing automated server?!

Good god, I’ve had nothing but the worst experience with this company. Will definitely never recommend it to anyone and will be paying off and closing out this account ASAP.

Unprofessional, tacky, and greedy AF.

Credit One Bank Dont get this card

2/17/2022 2:37pm
2nd review update,

Like i say in my first review there is no NO customer service with this card company. And i was under the impression from when i closed my account and they told it was closed as my request with no out standing debt, it was over. But i get an email from them wanting me to change my review and they say that “” they are sorry a ( member ) has gone through all that”” a member? So i try to contact customer service and still no customer service.

Im tried of all the actual mail spam! Every week, every month... i wont ever be a member of your company again. Not even if every store in the world was owned by your company.

I could have left the original review alone, but you saying im a member, is causing some issues that have to be corrected again. I want you to remove me from your lists you got me on... again. 2/17/2022 at 2:37pm.

2/04/2022at9:39pm.
1st review,

This is one of the worst credit card companies ever. The app crashes so much its the only way to pay your bill other than giving him your bank information. It takes a lawyer and months of time to get him to close your account once you pay it off to save yourself money from the extremely high interest and monthly fees and keep going up.

The phone number you get have certain times you can call to talk to someone, you can call 24/7 and its the same message. There wont be anyone to answer your calls.

And to make things worse... i wrote him and said i paid off everything please CLOSE THIS ACCOUNT... he sent me a new card for a second person to be on my account with the users name ... Close T His Account. After this mess up the account was closed. And i still have this real credit card for proof with the paperwork from the envelope he sent.

Please if your needing money dont take his credit card. You’ll be in more deep than you thought you would have been. Besides that you only get on average credit for the first 8 months is around $120.00.

Keep in mind you can never get ahold of him to get any help if something goes wrong, but you miss a payment... he reports it to the credit bureaus. 2/04/2022at9:39pm.

Credit One Bank Worst credit card company

I recently got approved for a $300 credit limit. The purpose of using the card was to help rebuild my credit. After losing my job during the pandemic, I could no longer make the payments with my checking account. I was still able to make payments. I had to use a prepaid card whereI received unemployment benefits. I still made sure to pay my bill ahead of time even paying twice some time 3 times the minimum payment. One time I made the payment with the unemployment card it said processed. 3 days later I receive a message saying my bank declined the payment. I knew I had more than enough in the account to cover the balance so I didn’t think anything of it and proceeded to do the transaction over l. This time the payment went through successfully. The next month comes, I have the same exact problem. I called my bank to figure out why they wouldn’t process the payment. They informed me that capital one never attempted to take a payment. So I called capital one to figure out what was going on. They ended up closing my account with no explanation other than the fact that I had two payments that was refused from the bank which was a complete lie. So now my attempt at fixing my credit was a complete fail due to capital closing my account as fast as they did. I was told if I made 5 consecutive payments on time that I would get an increase. And what a coincidence that my account was closed on the 5th month. This company is a complete scam. Even in the middle of a pandemic and me losing my job. I never once asked for an extension or any type of assistance to pay my bill. I always paid way before my due date and more than the minimum payment. The funny thing about this all when I told my sister I was going to try capital one she told me not to because they did the same exact thing for her. I wouldn’t recommend this company to not one person not even an enemy. They pretend like they want to help you but it all reality they just want to take advantage. I will never use capital one again ever. The representative that did try explain to me why my card was canceled was very rude m, he barely understood what was going on with my account. Buyers be aware.

Credit One Bank Old Fashioned App/Bad service and fees/interest

App is outdated. Cant do to much with it.

In order to get a 5 I’d say there are several things to consider.
1. Customer Service is most important. 1 star
2. Charges/fees: 1 star
3. Convenience: 1 star
4. App development: (2 star) not up to par.

Customer service: I don’t care about the app really. I’m more concerned about #1 and #2 up there. I have never had a good experience with your reps. Seems as though they are outsourced. Reps are not knowledgeable on product, indecisive, unsure, and not able to to handle the simplest of questions. I called in one time about fees and they told me there are no fees for cashing a cash-advanced check, when your letter showed me fee and interest schedule, she then changed her answer but after having provided multiple responses.

Charges/Fees: for anyone out there looking to get this card listen up .. it’s important to understand Credit Ones system because they rip you off. Greedy company! I don’t recommend them. Example:
My billing cycle: 02/21/2022-03/20/2022.
Transactions in this cycle: 1

I paid it off as soon as it cleared. And guess what? Paid a $4.95 fee to have the funds immediately available which I paid otherwise the funds are not available until 7 days later. Oh ya .. When the billing cycle ended I was charged an interest fee of $1.57 that was reported as a balance to the credit bureaus. Even though my payment posted well before 03/20. They don’t even want to give a credit increase. I have good credit and have NEVER EVER been LATE with credit one or had more then 2% utilization on this cards since I’ve had it (11 months). I have never given you an issue on my part and you have given me a horrible experience. Bad business partners for sure.

That little billing rip-off they got is pretty low to take advantage of people with bad credit and are risky individuals. So use Credit One only to provide you a tradeline to build your credit. Don’t give them your money in the form of interest and fees. That’s crazy. I’m super frustrated with their service and fees and not giving me a credit increase after my end was good. Those are the most important things to me. I could deal with a bad app. I can’t take bad service.

Credit One Bank Everything was pretty great until this last update!

Update... it’s now Sunday morning, 2 days since my review... and this issue has not only not been resolved it’s worse because now when I try to “chat” with whatever robot is failing at running this bank and app, I am not allowed to type anything in I’m only allowed to pick from preselected topics and get generic automatic replies that do nothing. And of course every time I try to call them they’re closed! I sent emails 2 days ago but of course, i’ve stopped checking for replies after two days of nothing. So I can’t log into my account from the app or from the mobile site or from the website or by talking to someone on the phone or my chatting with someone and the help section, or by any other means... so I’ll give you an hour to respond to me and fix this problem or I will be filing every complaint I can starting with the ComplaintsBoard.com and whatever else I can find.

I just want to log into my account for the love of God! What is wrong with you people, or your robots running this thing?

Maybe if you would use the enormous amount of money you steal from overcharging your customers for something useful, like buying Technology from the century or to pay actual people to work at this “bank” rather than wasting it on crap football teams, like the Raiders, then maybe you would be able to help your customers rather than just write them off... because, you’ve already got our money, right?

FIX THE [protected]@MN APP!

I have not been able to log into this app for over 2 days! it just spins and spins and spins and then it says it times out or they cannot complete my request and I try again later or that the app is unavailable because they are working on making it better which is obviously not the case. Take me forever to get it to update to for some reason and now that it finally updated, I was able to get into it wants to see that I have a offer for a credit increase which I was glad to except however four times now it just spins out as it supposed to be instantly granting me my credit increase in four times I’ve had to close down the app and then my entire phone and now I just can’t get into the app at all again. So fix the app and stop wasting my time and then maybe I will change my rating.

Credit One Bank Good app with some annoying glitches

I got a card with credit one while I was building my score. At the time I had a smaller limit on my preferred card with my credit union and credit one gave me a higher limit than they did surprisingly.

I don’t carry a balance on the two cards that I hold with credit one as a matter of fact I don’t even use them anymore. So I literally only use the app to make payments for the annual fees .

They are constantly working to improve the app and admittedly it does look a lot better thank it did even this time last year. However it has glitches that are becoming increasingly annoying.

As soon as I log into the app, I receive an alert stating “due to inactivity the session has ended” which makes no sense because I had just logged in. I log back in and it will do it a few more times. It doesn’t appear to matter what I’m doing; making a payment, checking my messages/alerts, reviewing profile settings or whatever.

I also had to change my address on each card 2 times each (a total of 4 times) because you have to update each account you have with them instead of them updating all your accounts automatically or at least giving you the option to update all your accounts with your new information. After I changed my address on my cards the first time, it said it takes about 3 business days to update. So I thought everything was fine. Almost a month later, I received an email from credit one, informing that “the check I requested had been sent” (horrible wording BTW since I never requested a cash advance) which caused some alarm and prompted me to call them to make sure my accounts were okay. While I’m the phone with them I discovered that the check had been sent to my old address (I wasn’t too concerned about this due to setting up mail forwarding prior to the move)! While on the phone with the representative I checked the addresses in the app and they were showing my old address again. So I had to update each account again and received the same message about 3 business days. While on the phone with customer service I asked the rep to make a change on my account so that no cash advance checks are issued (hint if you don’t want these just call and let them know).

I checked the address on the accounts again today, one shows the correct address and the other is STILL showing the old address. So I’ve updated it yet AGAIN and hopefully this will be the last time.

Good app overall but the aforementioned glitches are infuriating.

Credit One Bank Worst Credit Card I have

The only reason I give it a 2 is because of 2 reasons. 1 I was locked out of my account and couldn’t sign in to make a payment. For over 2 weeks and 6 Phone calls they kept giving me different reasons. I have had this card for 2 years and I have never been late and I have always paid my full balance before my due date. Granted I got this card only to help get my credit score up because I was informed by the a few different credit companies to do it. But anyways by the time of my 6th call I was very upset. I asked if I was late on my bill and they said yes by 3 days and it was going to take at least 24 hours for me to start up a new online account because I don’t have one. I told them BS because that is how I have been making my payments for 2 years. She offered to make a payment by phone but it was going to be a $10 Charge. I called BS again because it was all their fault not mine. They finally waved both charges and took my payment and magically without starting a new online account everything was back on. 2 I let my daughter take my card to go on vacation Incase something happened and she needed money or a fast way home. She left on a Monday and I wanted to make sure she had a card that had plenty of money but not a large amount so I gave her this card but I had used it during the holidays and they left like the first week in January which was 2 weeks before my due date. So I paid the $19.95 for Express fee to get the card paid off and available within 24 hours like they said. I paid it Saturday Night Sunday Morning and they arrived to their destination that Tuesday but no one had a Credit Card just a Debit Card to rent the hotel room. So I told my daughter to just use my card. They tried to run it and they said it decline because there wasn’t enough on the card. I call them and asked why because Express was suppose to be within 24 hours and they informed me that the first $100 is available in the first 24 hours but the rest would not be available until Friday. So I complained and they just didn’t care. I told them it was false advertising and they should explain that rather than telling us it would be available the next business day. I honestly don’t know why I use this company. Plus all the information on the Credit Report they give you for free is completely incorrect. They have me down only having 5 open accounts and I only owe less than $25,000.00. Hell we bought our house 10 years ago and still owe over $200,000.00 on it and they are not even showing it.

Credit One Bank FIX THIS NOW AND STOP BEING SUSPECT!

I have two accounts for Credit One bank. Two. Both are linked to this App. Both have different due dates for my convenience. When payment is due for each account I pay on the due date or one day before. The accounts are clearly displayed with all details on the app with a prompt to MAKE PAYMENT on each of the two accountants within their own fields and separate from each other. So when you click MAKE PAYMENT logically you are moved forward to PAY THAT CARD PAYMENT. But this doesn’t happen. Somehow payment can be diverted to the other account THAT ISN’T DUE! This shouldn’t be possible unless you intention and deliberately DO THAT YOURSELF. But it is possible and does happen! Leaving you thinking you have paid the due bill when in fact the credit has been applied to your other account. Consequently you are summarily charged an undue and unwarranted LATE FEE! And have to take valuable time out of your day to call and resolve this debacle over the phone. One using the App shouldn’t be so inconvenienced by a simple glitch that can easily be interpreted as suspect and potentially fraudulent. Because why in the world after having selected to pay CARD ONE would the App default to CARD TWO without boldly and clearly notifying you in the midsts of the transaction? This is fundamentally a design fail that only benefits the company. I don’t memorize my card numbers or remember to double or triple check if I’m indeed paying the right card AFTER I selected the card to start that particular payment IN THE FIRST PLACE! That would be redundant and only a person who doubts their actions would be so inclined to behave this way. It’s illogical and neurotic to keep asking yourself “is this the right card?” in the process! Healthy minded people will trust they’re not gong to be deviated from the path they’ve selected like this App does to them leaving one peeved with frustration and suspicious of this company for not resolving this obvious problem. If you don’t have two accounts or just pay them both way ahead of time you may not have had this experience. But if your payments are very close to due date and you have two cards you will likely have experienced this AND COMPLAINED ABOUT IT! After having made the error of trusting this process three times and being disappointed by this occurrence I will change my behavior to avoid this from now on. But this needs to be fixed and fast. Too many people will be undermined by this design and pay fees that are unfairly assigned. Credit One bank has a legal and moral obligation to fix this issue at once. Or risk litigation from someone with the time and resources to pursue damages because it can be easily perceived as yet another bank money-making hustle. Do the right thing Credit One bank. Fix this App. It’s otherwise a great App that’s useful and convenient.

Credit One Bank Taking my business elsewhere

The app works decently, but the company as a whole is just disappointing. I recently had to cancel my card because of a ‘fraudulent’ charge that wasn’t at all fraudulent and I approved over 5 times.

My card was flagged for an Amazon charge that was my monthly auto draft, that had been coming out of my capital one card for months.

I one day receive a phone call and email about a charge being flagged, and as I am grateful for fraud protection, this is where it gets frustrating.

I called capital one customer service to figure out the issue. I was told the charge was flagged for fraudulent reasons, I told them thank you but I approve the charge. The woman told me that my account would be suspended for 24-48hours. Ok I thought, a little drastic but every company has their own SOP. The woman was very rude when I asked her the details of my account and why this was happening, she eventually hung up! I called back and spoke with someone much nicer, without mentioning the hanging up on previously.

Then two days later I receive the same notification, after amazon went to charge my card again because it was declined the first time. So I called in and went through the same conversation with someone else on the phone. They kept assuring me I could use my card, the charge would go through, and my account would be unfrozen(since I couldn’t even log into my own account either due to the fraud!).

This went on for two weeks! Every other day I was on the phone with a customer service agent. At one point I was told, ‘it’s capital one that flagged the charge, I can’t help you.’ So why give out a customer service number where no one can actually help? And aren’t I calling capital one?!?!

I travel for work, and rely on my credit card for times when I cannot use cash or my debit card. I am extremely disappointed with the zero customer service. How can you not authorize charges on your own credit card? The same $12.99 that had been auto drafted from the same credit one card for months. I was told to change the card I was using to make the payment! Is that really how a credit card company wants to operate? ‘sorry ma’am, you’re going to need to change the card you pay your amazon bill with’ I thought the point was that you wanted people to use your credit cards?

During the two weeks, I was told so many different things. From, ‘yes your payment will go through’ to ‘you need to change the card to something else’ and ‘we cant do anything about it’. I was literally told at least three different things in regards to one transaction!

For two weeks I was unable to log into my account, use my card, or do anything at all with it. I feel like I completely got the run around and I am extremely unhappy.

I had no intention of closing my account, but after the horrible experience I saw no other choice. Two weeks of the being told completely different things, my account being frozen, not being able to use my card is just unprofessional. I understand that capital one is just a huge credit card company that doesn’t care AT ALL about the customer, but come on! This is just ridiculous. This letter will most likely fall on deaf ears, since that’s what I experienced with capital one the entire time I’ve been with them which is very disappointing.

My hope is that someone actually reads this, and helps get the customer service department better trained in regards to educational training and customer service in general. I felt completely lied to and like I was a joke. I hope no other customer has this happen to them and that they will be helped.

I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Summer

Credit One Bank The Bank Who Doesn’t Have Your Back

I was the victim of a fraudulent transaction on my card - a charge of $1,835 for health
insurance that was a scam, and a big one. Apparently, the SEC and FBI were investigating the company (Jericho Shares for anyone trying to avoid being defrauded when buying health insurance) for bilking unsuspecting customers out of $195 million. This was in December . I should add that my partner was experiencing bizarre and significant health issues at the time and needed to go to
a doctor but couldn’t because we never received health care I.D. Cards or any proof of coverage (because we had none). Months later, after getting real coverage with Blue Cross, we discovered he had an undiagnosed HIV infection from years earlier that had progressed to full blown AIDS. That diagnosis was delayed by several precious months because of this fraud.

But I digress. So I report the transaction to Credit One in January this year. They issue a temporary credit for the disputed charge and I’m thinking the matter is behind me. Three months later, they charge me once again for $1835 stating the merchant had provided proof that the charge was valid and that the proof was enclosed with their letter. There was no such proof contained nor was there in the next 9 identical letters I received over the next few weeks. I call their customer support team once again, which as an additional gripe, is next to impossible to get to on their automated menu (to speak to an agent is not an option and truthfully you’d have to be pretty desperate and have the patience of Job to do it anyway). So you just keep punching numbers until you get lucky. This is now June. I am transferred 8 times over 2 hours with no one able to provide a satisfactory answer or to authorize a credit for what is CLEARLY FRAUD.

I finally speak to someone who informs me that there is a 31 page member agreement that was sent to them as proof that states we had 45 days to request a refund and missed that deadline. Only thing is, we never received and certainly never executed this agreement. Our dispute was dismissed on the basis of an unsigned and never received document that stated we had 45 days to ask for a refund for insurance that this company isn’t authorized to issue in the first place. Brilliant work fraud detection team! Gold star for you!

We are then told that we need to file a police report and submit it to Credit one to reopen our dispute case. Which I did, which I sent, which I confirmed they had received. And which we are going on 5 weeks later and guess what? Still no credit for the $1835. But numerous phone calls about my late payment this month. On that matter, they are a well-oiled precision machine.

So what am I thinking? WRONG!
WRONG! The last time I checked, Credit one Bank, you were supposed to be on my side, since I am you know, your customer. You’re supposed to protect me from fraud, not enable it. And you’re certainly supposed to resolve a legitimate fraud dispute case faster than 9 months. I could have brought a child into this world quicker than your customer service works. Or doesn’t work as it now appears. You are a travesty of a bank, disloyal to your customers, incompetent in the best case and co-conspirators to committing fraud in the worst case. And it is my hope, that any prospective customer of yours who reads this review, will finish it, go to your invitation for a credit card at 26% interest, and flush it down the toilet as I now wish I had done 5 years ago. Because while my credit score may not be perfect, I still expect, no, demand respect and competent service. Neither of which you seem able or willing to provide.

Have a lovely day!

So I have disputed charges for the same case on 3 different occasions now and find myself absolutely no further along in the process then when I started this case ("#"). If an individual finds an employee of credit one bank speaking clear and understandable English I feel that is so rare of happening one should just go with it. As I mentioned on the other...

I tell him I want to close my account, but only after I know where my refund is going to. He completely over talks me and closes my account without my permission! I call back and...

Credit One Bank Lack of Customer Support

I have Faceboook ads set up with automatic payments using my Credit One card. It was working fine, I've checked my balance and that is ok, yet the automatic payment is failing. When I go to pay the outstanding balance on my ad account, it goes through just fine.

I NEED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT THIS, and NEVER GET AN OPTION TO SPEAK WITH AN AGENT!

Desired outcome: Fix my account so that the automatic payment works

Credit One Bank Sending payment info

I sent pay off check, to the customer service address,in Los Vegas NV, instead of the payment processing dept in City of Industry, CA, I can't find a live person to speak with, to find out what has happened to that payment or if it will be sent onto the proper dept. it was sent on 8/7/23, its now 8/15/23, and no payment has been posted. The automated system sucks cause it doesn't allow for stupid accidents on mailing payments.

Desired outcome: I just want to make sure they received my payment, and when I can expect it to be posted. or let me know what has happened to the pay off check.

Credit One Bank Credit Card

I just want to know why, why, why was derogatory information sent to experian, for being $1 over limit for 2 days?

My credit limit is only $300. I paid the bill on july 28. I made a purchase that I calculated to be less than what was available. However they calculated it, it took it over, and as soon as I saw it was over, I paid $2.00 to bring it current.

The damage to my credit was done due to the company being overly anxious to report a $1 overage.

Thank you

Desired outcome: RETRACTION OF DEROGATORY CREDIT REPORTING

Credit One Bank Website and customer Service

First - I can not get into the website to review charges. I have not used this card in months, pay monthly, yet the balance keeps going up.

Second- There is not way of speaking to a live person to find out what is going on. It just lets you pay your bill w " Customer Service" number [protected].

I think someone is using my card and have no way of verifying this.

Can I be provided with a number in which I can speak with someone?

Thank you

Carbone.[protected]@yahoo.com

Desired outcome: Not sure yet because I do not know my charges.

Credit One Bank Credit card account

I received a 'Pre-Approval' for a credit card with Credit One and took it, but very soon realized that this is a scam company that takes advantage of people who are in financial straights in order to line their own pockets...

I used the card, like a fool, to buy some groceries and to get a cash advance from a local ATM, only to find that this con artist organization has an almost illegal interest rate, as well as charges you a substantial monthly fee, even if you do not use the card at all. I had a large balance on the card of around $600, and every month they were tacking on an extra $100 plus in interest payments, while they continuously increased the interest rates.

So, I paid off the entire balance, then put the card away, never touching it again, thinking stupidly that this took care of the issue, but then I checked the online account site this morning to see that I now had an almost $90 balance, with no explanation of the new charges.

So you say, just call them and figure it out, but that is a laugh, as these criminal companies do everything possible to make it a joke to try and speak to a human being. Talking to a pre-recorded robot is not remotely helpful when you need real answers. Maybe I need to just give them the $88, and then close the card out completely and cut it into pieces. I was trying to avoid that because closing an account hurts your credit score, but I am trapped here. If I never use the card, these scam artists are just going to charge me around $90 every month because the card exists.

I made a terrible mistake getting caught in their web of lies, and now I am lost as to how to escape these predators!

This is the second version of this complaint that I have filed because 'Complaints Board' does not allow you to correct typos in a complaint once it is submitted.

Desired outcome: Contact by a live agent from the company, and removal of any charges on my card account.

Credit One Bank Credit card

I'd like to file a complaint about the bank verification letter they keep asking me for when I've already done what they've asked me for! And they keep saying they need more information when I've provided all they asked for ! As soon as I sent the letter of verification they debited my account for the $226.71 so that means they are calling my letter good but they won't release my card.

Desired outcome: Release the hold on my account so I can use my card like it was designed for!

Credit One Bank asking me for Payment verification.

I am absolutely insulted being asked for Payment Verification. Have you ever heard of Navy Federal Credit Union? I wouldn't mess with them if I were you.

I will send you what you want. If you misuse any of my information I will sue you.

You need to be very careful who you mess with. I see from reading your reviews that you try to strong arm people who pay their bills in full.

Desired outcome: Turn my account back on. It is fully paid.

Credit One Bank Fraudulent use of my card charged back to me

On June 19, 2023, at 2:46 PM CST I was at my work located in Richardson, Texas when I received two text messages from Credit One Bank alerting me to two purchases in two separate locations, Clique in Queens, NY and Foot Locker in Elmhurst, NY, that were declined because the card was over its limit. I logged into my Credit One account ending in **24 and discovered there were two unauthorized purchases on my account. These purchases were for $119.76 at Champs Elmhurst, NY and $141.54 Asphalt Store in Elmhurst, both on June 19, 2023. I immediately contacted Credit One Bank to report the unauthorized purchases and I was transferred to the fraud department (outsourced to a call center in Pakistan) where I was asked several questions about the purchases. I answered them as follows: 1. I did not authorize anyone to make purchases with my credit card. 2. I did and still do have possession of the card ending in **24 and there are not authorized users on the account. 3. I was physically in Richardson, TX while the purchases were made in Queens and Elmhurst, NY. The card was cancelled, and a new card was issued. On June 20, 2023, Credit One Bank notified the three credit bureaus that my card ending in **24 was over the limit, and my Credit Score was injured by 47 points negative. One June 26, 2023, I received an email saying the charges were authorized because a chip card was used, and I was charged for the purchases. I have submitted complaints to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency who handles these banks. My great credit has been injured and my next step is to hire an attorney. This issue has not been resolved as of July 25, 2023, and I have closed both of my credit card accounts.

Desired outcome: Financial compensation for all the aggravation they caused me and injury to my good credit rating and proper reporting to the three credit bureaus.

Credit One Bank No activation?

I applied for this card. I never heard whether or not I was accepted. I received the card in the mail but it said that it was $75 to activate. In the meantime, I was offered one with a much higher balance, and lower annual fee. I put the Credit One card to the side. I figured I had to activate it and pay $75 if I needed it. NO, it came activated and now my credit is tarnished because I am late for the $75! What if someone else opened my mail with an activated card? This is bad business! I am trying to rebuild my credit since my recent divorce ruined it. Now I'm showing LATE on a card that I did not even think was activated! THEN I just tried to log on my computer to sign in after having to change my password 9 times, because the phone ap doesn't correspond with the website on my desktop, it keeps kicking me back to the sign in page. I can not get on either my phone OR the desktop site. Bonkers!

Desired outcome: I would like to pay the $75 and I really think you should take that 'Late Payment' blemish off of my credit. This is exactly why I did not even want to get one of these low limit, high interest cards.

Credit One Bank Late Payment Fee

My payment was due on Sunday 7/16/23, I am unable to get access to my account on Sundays. I paid it on Monday 7/17/23, but yesterday they already posted a $39.00 late fee to my account. You would think I would have had at least till the next business day to be able to post payment. I have had this card for years. It's bad enough that I am charged a yearly fee. Now $39.00 for 1 day late? Once I pay off my small balance, I will no longer use this card.

Desired outcome: I don't need them to refund anything. Like I said, I'll just pay off my balance and be done with it.
