Monsters of a family
Monsters of a family. Owner is a cheeting stealing person this is your warning.
I went to Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc. to buy a car and boy was it a nightmare. The owner, let me tell you, is a real piece of work. He's a cheater and a thief, so consider yourself warned.
I had such a terrible experience dealing with them. The whole family is just awful. They don't care about their customers at all. They just want to take your money and run.
I can't believe I fell for their tricks. They promised me a great deal on a car, but it turned out to be a total scam. The car was in terrible condition and they didn't even bother to fix it properly.
And when I tried to complain, they just brushed me off like I was nothing. They didn't care about my concerns or the fact that I had been ripped off.
I would never recommend Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc. to anyone. They are dishonest and untrustworthy. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
I had a great time buying a car at Dennis Dillon
I had a great time buying a car at Dennis Dillon. I traveled from Seattle to buy a used ***. Tom C, my salesman, picked me up from the airport and drove me to the dealership. The car was like they said it would be and looked amazing inside and out. Sure, the financing part took a little longer, but it was totally worth it in my opinion. Tom even called me after I left to check if my drive home was alright. Overall, it was an awesome experience from beginning to end. I'm so happy I made the trip! I got a really good deal on the car I really wanted, and everyone I met was friendly and professional.
NEVER AGAIN!
NEVER AGAIN! I bought a car 5 weeks ago, and it's been nothing but trouble since one week after I got it. Coolant is pouring out of it, and nobody would call me back. They don't have loaner cars, and they won't even come pick up the car. I'm a single mom with a baby, and I paid $30,000 in cash for this car. It's impossible to reach anyone in charge. The only people you can talk to are the workers at the bottom. I can't get any managers to call me back, and I can't find the phone numbers for the people who are actually in charge. You can't contact corporate or anyone who can help. All they say is, "I'm sorry ma'am, that sucks. Unfortunately, I can't do anything, but I'll pass your info along." Then nothing. It's complete BS. Typical salespeople. Typical dealership. I should've stuck with *** where they actually seem to care. I'm planning on returning the car and getting my money back, or I might even contact a lawyer. It's sad that I would've been better off with the junk car I traded in.
I had a bad experience shopping at Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc
I had a bad experience shopping at Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc. There were several unpleasant surprises that I encountered. First, I ordered a truck and signed a contract for $68,535, which I thought was the final price. However, I later found out that if I didn't use Dillon financing, it would cost me an extra $2,000. This was surprise number one.
Then, I submitted a cash offer form on their website, and they came back with an offer of a little over $45,000. I sent them detailed pictures and specifications of the truck, and they called me back with an offer of $41,000. I was shocked by this. After some back and forth arguing, they finally agreed to honor the web form offer. Surprise number two.
During the closing, I still wanted to take advantage of the GMC 0% financing offer, but the sales team insisted it would cost me an extra $3,000, not $2,000 as previously mentioned. Surprise number three.
In the end, I chose their financing option to save the extra $3,000, but then they added an additional $1,700 in undisclosed dealer charges to the final write-up. Surprise number four.
Despite these issues, Skyler at Dillon made the financing option better by offering a decent finance rate and flexible repayment conditions. However, I still have concerns about the trade-in sales tax issue and Washington sales tax guidelines regarding down payments and "equity" checks. I hope they know what they're doing in that regard.
Overall, I am happy with the truck and the fact that it arrived after a 4-month wait. However, I would not buy from this dealer again due to poor communication and changing conditions during the sales process. I would rather choose another dealer and wait longer for the truck.

My husband and I went to look at a vehicle
My husband and I went to look at a vehicle. We didn't sign or give verbal authorization to pull credit. Both my husband and I both specified not to pull credit. We left the dealership and within 45 min our credit was pulled. We then called and talked to Josh, a manager. He gave us an excuse of we're short staffed and because of COVID-19. He did admit that there was no signature on the application. He proceeded to try and sell us a vehicle.
I let them check my credit once, but they sent it to ten different credit places, so now I have 8 hard inquiries on my credit score
I let them check my credit once, but they sent it to ten different credit places, so now I have 8 hard inquiries on my credit score. They weren't supposed to send it to anyone else. I specifically said I would be using my credit union and already had approval. They should remove one of those hard inquiries from my credit report. They should also reach out to all 10 places and let them know it was a mistake and they didn't have permission. Actually, two of them got denied because I ended up buying a car somewhere else, so it seems like I was trying to buy two cars.
They had this "sale price" online for 60k on a used truck
They had this "sale price" online for 60k on a used truck. No proof online that this price has any rules. I took the truck for a spin and really liked it. I told the sales guy and manager that I'd get pre-approval for the sales price, sales tax, and doc fee and come back tomorrow. I came back the next day and all of a sudden, the truck's price went up by 2k because I wasn't financing with them. I insisted they stick to the advertised price. They wouldn't budge and wouldn't lower the price to what's shown online. They advertise this price on Autotrader, Cars.com, their own website, and nowhere does it say the price will go up for a cash buyer. I still want the truck, but I want it at the advertised price.

We bought a car at Dennis Dillon GMC in Boise and paid extra for a bumper to bumper warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles
We bought a car at Dennis Dillon GMC in Boise and paid extra for a bumper to bumper warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles. The warranty should have started when we drove the car off the lot, but when we tried to schedule a service repair, we were told that the warranty had already expired. We've only had the car for less than 4 years. The warranty claims department said that the dealership backdated the coverage to when the car was made, not when we bought it. They understood that it was strange for the warranty to include a time when we didn't own the car. They told me to talk to the dealership, but the dealership is refusing to fix the mistake. They admit that they backdated the warranty to the manufacturing date instead of the purchase date, so we ended up paying for coverage before we even owned the car.
On Friday, November 18, we bought a car from Dennis Dillon Auto Park and Truck Center
On Friday, November 18, we bought a car from Dennis Dillon Auto Park and Truck Center. The Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement has a section called "Insurance Information." In this section, there are three things: 1. Theft Prot Product $299.50 2. Brake Pulus Product $349.00 3. Brake Plus Contract $1,201.00 Total $1,849,50 We asked about these extra charges, if they were optional, what they were for, and for any documents related to them. They said these charges are normal for all dealers and must be paid. They said there's no documentation like an insurance policy or disclosure available. They also said there's no contract documentation for the third item, even though it's called a contract charge.
I bought a new 2022 GMC Yukon in November
I bought a new 2022 GMC Yukon in November . Dennis Dillon called me weeks later saying they forgot to add the Cilajet protection, which cost me $2,983.82. I called them multiple times in the following weeks, but only spoke to a manager in January 2022. The manager said no refund would be given, but if I came back to the dealership, they would remember to apply the Cilajet this time. I explained that I work every day and can't spend a whole day driving over five hours roundtrip and waiting six hours for the Cilajet. Plus, the longer they wait, the less effective the Cilajet becomes. Dennis Dillon broke our agreement by not applying the Cilajet I paid for. It's not fair for them to now say they'll do it if I sacrifice a lot of work, time, and money. They need to give me a refund.
I bought a 2021 skidoo Tundra snowmobile from Dennis Dillon Powersports on 12/19
I bought a 2021 skidoo Tundra snowmobile from Dennis Dillon Powersports on 12/19. They told me it had a one year warranty. They said I should bring it in after using it during the winter to have the mechanics check it and make sure everything is working before the warranty ends. In August , I took the snowmobile in for a check-up and because of a recall notice. When they finished, they charged me $364.84 for the check-up. They did some services that weren't needed. Since they are an authorized skidoo snowmobile dealer, I expected them to know what maintenance a 9-month-old snowmobile needs. I think Dennis Dillon took advantage of the situation and did unnecessary maintenance on purpose. I complained to the service person named Rusty, and he said he would talk to his manager, but he never called me back. I want a refund for the unnecessary maintenance.
On October 14th, 2022, I reserved a 2023 GMC *** and paid $1000 for the reservation
On October 14th, 2022, I reserved a 2023 GMC *** and paid $1000 for the reservation. The salesman, caught on my camera system, verbally agreed that the truck would be delivered by the end of December. Both parties had this expectation. However, the business has tried to sell me a truck that is not the one I reserved. GMC has informed the dealership that the build is delayed, but they have told me that the build is completed and are waiting for the dealership to arrange shipping. The transaction order through GMC is BXCBMN. I specifically ordered a certain model of truck, but the only options the company has offered are a completely different truck or waiting for an unknown amount of time. I contacted a manager and was told that the $1000 is only refundable if the truck doesn't arrive. They are holding my money while GMC and the dealership go back and forth, with no expected delivery date. The verbal agreement was for the end of December, but it is now the end of January with no resolution. I recently reached out to the salesman, who offered the same resolutions of another truck or waiting indefinitely for mine to arrive. I have given the dealership multiple chances to do the right thing, but there has been no resolution other than waiting indefinitely. I would like the opportunity to find my truck through other means since neither GMC nor the dealership have any idea where the truck is or when it will be delivered.
My complaint is two things
My complaint is two things. The first part is I was looking to buy a truck with hauling capacity of 10,500 pounds minimum so I could purchase a bigger camper. Dennis Dillon had a 2019 *** on their lot I explained to the salesman the reason for wanting to purchase a different truck and when I asked about towing capacity he said he thought it was 8200 on the truck. I asked him if he was sure due to most *** are 10,500 and he told me he would look it up. He allegedly looked it up and came back and said it would indeed tow 10,500 pounds. I did express the importance of it having to two that much due to the new camper I was wanting to buy was nearly 8000 dry weight and he assured me it was 10,500 so I bought the truck. In looking at a camper to purchase I was looking at one 7200 pounds dry weight and nearly 90000 loaded. The salesman at the camper place questioned me about towing capacities so we doubled checked and to my surprise my truck only tows 8400 pounds. I would have NOT purchased the truck if i had known this. Now I am unable to purchase the camper I actually purchased the truck for. I called Dennis Dillon and they said sorry, nothing we can do about it, if it makes you feel better we fired the salesman due to him having a history of lying. NO THIS DOES NOT HELP ME! My other complaint is I was asked and accused by the salesman at the direction of the floor manager if I was a racist due to I was wearing a *** 2020 het and shirt. I was HIGHLY offended being called a racist due to the fact I support MY President! I am American and I love my country and served proudly in the military.
On August 21st, 2022, from around 2:30 to 6:15pm, we made the decision to buy a 2016 *** Tuscan from Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc
On August 21st, 2022, from around 2:30 to 6:15pm, we made the decision to buy a 2016 *** Tuscan from Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc. The dealer talked about the price that was advertised while we were driving the car and discussing payment. When we sat down to go over the details, he brought out a sheet with line items and showed us the advertised price. However, I was confused when I saw that the price of the car had two additional charges totaling $1675 for "fees" called BRAKE plus pro and installation charges.
At first, the salesperson referred to these charges as standard dealership fees. Then, he mentioned that if I truly cared about my boys, I would willingly pay these extra fees for the safety item they add to every car. According to him, this device could potentially prevent 90% of all rear-end accidents by making your 3rd brake light blink three times when you press the brakes. The cost of this so-called "added safety item" was over 10% of the total purchase price of the car. However, a quick search revealed that I could buy the same device at *** for about $18.99.
They claim that they must charge this fee, which is added to the advertised price. Brake Plus is a simple circuit that attaches to your 3rd brake light to make it blink. I watched a video they showed me, which depicted a person flying through the front windshield of their car during an accident at around 23 seconds in. The video claimed that this device could potentially save 90% of all rear-end accidents, as mentioned around 40 seconds. My minor children were present when they showed us this video.
They refused to sell us the car for the advertised price, and they didn't explain anything about this device while we were test driving it. The nearly $1700 blinking light charge was only disclosed after all of my credit information had been added to their system. They wouldn't sell us the car for the advertised price, nor would they completely remove the charge. This unnecessary additional charge is clearly a scam. The salesperson did offer to reduce the charge by $1000, which supposedly covers the cost of the item itself, but they wouldn't budge on the installation fee of almost $700.

This Dennis Dillon place is tricking customers by adding fees ($1,673 in my case) to car purchase agreements for a Brake Plus system that they say is mandatory. They admitted in another response here on ComplaintsBoard.com that it's optional. Here's what happened to me: On 11/1/2022 I went to Dennis Dillon to check out a 2021 *** CX-5. It was priced around the *** fair price at $28,963. I decided I wanted it and got approved by my credit union. I came back the next day to buy it and the business manager pressured me to let them handle the financing. I kept saying no. When they brought out the purchase agreement, it had 2 extra charges (in addition to the doc fee and taxes). They added a BRAKE2 fee of $998 and a Pro Installed Safety Kit fee of $675. The sales guy said those were for a brake system that prevents accidents, comes with all their cars, and are part of dealer fees. My lender said they wouldn't finance those 2 fees unless they were part of the market value selling price of the car. I asked if they could include them in the vehicle price in one line item. The business manager said no and used that as a chance to push their financing even more. He said I could just get the financing through them and refinance with my bank a week later (without caring about how that would affect my credit/APR). I said no and asked again if they could lower those fees or combine them with the vehicle price. He said no, so I left. They called and asked how we could make a deal. They ended up adding the brake fees to the car price, making it $30,636.50 ($32,911 with tax). Then I saw here on ComplaintsBoard.com that the brake add-ons are optional and very overpriced. They never told me they were optional, otherwise I wouldn't have walked away. I was deceived and I'm glad my lender didn't finance those fees, which gave me enough time to realize I was being cheated out of $1,673. Buyers, be careful.
We bought a 2015 Buick Enclave from the Used GMC dealership in *** a couple years ago and it started leaking oil recently
We bought a 2015 Buick Enclave from the Used GMC dealership in *** a couple years ago and it started leaking oil recently. We got the extended Warranty too, and we still have coverage. In April this year (2022), we took the Enclave to the service center to get the leak checked. DD said the oil pan was leaking and it would be covered..great. They also found an AC condenser leak, which would be covered. Again, great. They fixed it and a week and a half later we got our car back, only to find it was still leaking. We took it back around May 18th and told the service rep we felt a shudder when shifting - this time they said it had a leaking pinion seal (covered by warranty), but nothing about the shudder. In the next couple of days, we noticed more leaking and the shudder got worse. The third time we took it back, they said it had leaking valve covers and a torque converter that needed to be replaced. It's still leaking oil... We paid $250 deductibles each time. In my mind, if the problem was an oil leak, they shouldn't have given it back to us until they were sure the leak was actually fixed. Every time, it started leaking again the next day, so it seems like if they just put a piece of cardboard under the car, they would have seen it was still leaking. I talked to the service manager and we didn't have to pay for the valve cover repair, but we still had to pay a deductible for the transmission work (during the conversation, I also explained the shudder and he practically diagnosed it over the phone, so why wasn't it diagnosed the first time?). I'm really unhappy with the quality of the REPAIR here - it's also clear that they use their service reps as a buffer between the tech and customer, which is fine if the reps know cars, but not if they don't.
I bought a car on lease about 2 years ago and I've been checking in periodically to see if I can buy it instead
I bought a car on lease about 2 years ago and I've been checking in periodically to see if I can buy it instead. When I got the lease, they didn't give me the option to finance a car traditionally. They said leasing was the standard. I didn't know what questions to ask since I was a first-time car buyer, and they took advantage of that. One of their employees reached out to me after I posted a review about my experience. They wanted to discuss options to lower my total payout or refinance, but I wasn't interested in buying a new car. I haven't heard back from that employee since. I contacted their leasing department, but they couldn't answer all my questions and referred me to a finance manager. I left voicemails, but no one called me back. Whenever I mention terminating my lease early, they give me the runaround and say the necessary people are in meetings. It's been over a week and I still haven't received a callback. They told me I need to send a 30-day notice and get the car appraised, but I have more questions before starting that process. There are cancellables on the lease that will affect the termination cost, and I need to discuss this with a finance manager. It seems like they're avoiding me because terminating the lease is less profitable for them. The lease agreement says I can terminate it, so I don't understand why they're giving me a hard time. They're quick to enforce anything that benefits them, but not when it benefits me. This isn't the first time they've avoided or withheld information from me. The lease terms are intentionally confusing and manipulative. For example, there's a "service or maintenance" clause that costs almost $5000, but I haven't received any paperwork explaining what it covers. When I asked the leasing department, they said it's the warranty. Why isn't it clearly stated as "Warranty" on the paperwork? It feels like they're trying to confuse me to make more money. I want the finance manager to contact me so we can find a solution.
I wanted to share our experience with Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc
I wanted to share our experience with Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc. in Boise, Idaho because I think they might be involved in some shady business practices. I don't think this dealership represents the values of honesty and integrity, especially considering my previous positive experiences with other dealerships. In October, our 2016 truck was totaled in a hit and run, and in January, we had a negative experience with Dennis Dillon. Our salesman, R, seemed great at first, but things took a turn when we discovered the details of their sales scheme. He even threatened us when we questioned him about it. When I emailed the company to inquire about the price of a new truck, R responded with a vague statement about providing the best price possible. However, he failed to give us an actual price. When I asked him to provide the details in writing, he refused, claiming that he could get fired if he did. This raised some concerns, but I didn't have time to investigate further due to personal issues related to the hit and run incident. Despite my reservations, I decided to proceed with the purchase after R assured me that everything was legal and that we would receive a great rate. However, once we arrived at the dealership, we encountered several problems. Firstly, it took us an incredibly long time to finalize the transaction and leave the dealership, which was a frustrating experience. Secondly, R pressured us to fill out a survey and sign up for additional services before we could leave. Lastly, the financing process turned out to be deceptive. The base price of the vehicle was as agreed upon, but Dennis Dillon provided us with undisclosed incentives, and they refused to explain where these incentives came from. We also discovered that R and the finance person, B, had misled us about the financing terms. They claimed that we could only put down 20% and had to finance through them to receive their exclusive deal, but this turned out to be false. Additionally, they initially offered us a high interest rate, but after we expressed our disappointment, they miraculously lowered it. However, we later found out that we could have obtained a much lower rate elsewhere. B also sold us a protection package without informing us that certain aspects of the package were not available in our state. Overall, our experience with Dennis Dillon Auto & Truck Center, Inc. was disappointing and left us feeling deceived.
