Dental Works Customers don’t matter

The Wake Forest, NC location closed without notice to patients. I need records forwarded to my new dentist. Corporate does not respond to messages, phone is impossible, & the nearest Dental Works office has no clue what to do. I’m in the process of filing a complaint with the Nc Dental Board and leaving reviews about corporate on many Dental Works locations.

Recommendation: Stay away. They could care less about you.

Letter to Dentalworks: I have tried the attorney general's office, BBB, the clinics themselves and nobody responds. Most recently, on 4/15/24 I called the Beachwood office where I currently go for dental services and spoke to a receptionist who took a message for the office manager regarding this issue and she never called back. My account balance has been...

I started with the Grove City, Ohio office near my home. It closed and we were transferred to Reynoldsburg, OH office - 30 minutes away. Today I was informed the Reynoldsburg, OH office has closed and I'm being transferred to the Polaris office (North Columbus, OH) 1 hour from my home - requiring 3 hours out of the day per office visit. Dental Works Refund

On Sept 18th Taylor charged my chase visa 70 dollars on Sept 18 at Dentalwotks Brunswick. As I got to my car I realized I meant to use my YSA card. I went right in and she put in for a refund on my Visa and charged the YSA card. I noticed I did not get my refund and tried calling and could not get through. I drove there and talked to Taylor on Oct 5th in person and she sent a message to office manager, still no refund back to my chase visa. This is unacceptable. It is insane trying to get through your phone lines. I need to be refunded by now!

Desired outcome: Refund my 70 dollars back to my chase visa!

Is Dental Works Legit?

Dental Works earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds Dental Works to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 18% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, Dental Works is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with Dental Works, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

We found clear and detailed contact information for Dental Works. The company provides a physical address, phone number, and email, as well as social media account. This demonstrates a commitment to customer service and transparency, which is a positive sign for building trust with customers.

Dentalworks.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While Dental Works has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 18% of 100 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • Dental Works protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
  • The website belonging to Dental Works has a low number of visitors, which could be a red flag for users. However, it's important to conduct additional research to fully evaluate the website's legitimacy and trustworthiness.

Dental Works Didn't disclosure full mouth x-ray until right before teeth cleaning

I had teeth cleaning done on April 10 at 9am. I scheduled it online and went to their office on the day. They didn't tell me that full mouth x-ray was required until a hygienist was about to clean my teeth. I told them that I have a regular dentist and I was here just for one-time cleaning since my regular dental office's schedule was full around the time period.

Neither did they suggest that I can request images from my regular dental office nor disclosured that my insurance may not cover full mouth x-ray. The x-ray quality was so poor and blurry. I requested them to send the digital images to my regular dentist and they never sent me a patient release form.

This one-time cleaning ended up being about $500, my insurance covered cleaning and I had to pay for x-ray. It is ridiculous that it cost $500 for a cleaning

Desired outcome: I would like they drop the full mouth x-ray bill which I never intended to request the service.

May of 2022 I went to Dental Works at Chagrin Blvd in Orange Village Ohio 44122 to get a crown. I had to come back 4- times because it fell out on one particular incident the office manager sucked my crown in suction tube. The office manager and Dr. Davis promised me a total refund and to nothing happened. I contacted the office manager and she was a professional, ignorant and belligerent to me. Can you please resolve this issue

I had a tooth removed and I could feel everything. Once the service was done I wasn’t prescribed anything but over the counter medication. I paid for my services with cash and I asked for copy of my receipt. They promised to email it and I have not received anything from Dental Works. I believe that there is some fraud going on with this company.

Dental Works Dentistry & Orthodontics

DentalWorks has terrible terrible customer service. I discontinued care with them years ago. Then I needed orthodontic care and they were the only in-network providers in the area so I said to myself perhaps the previous interaction was an isolated situation, perhaps they are under new management and they have made improvements but no that is not the case. I think the service has gotten worse. You may get the work done but you will regret choosing them. RUN

Dental Works Overcharging - Dentalworks polaris

I did a dental service on 06/20/2022 for $122.20. When I spoke to insurance they said Dentalworks Polaris overcharged me for the service and for this reason my Health Care Spending Account card was blocked by payflex as dental works didn't provide any justification for that transaction.

I called the Denatlworks Polaris office last week and the office manager Abbey told me that she will look into it and revert my by the end of week but till now I didn't heard anything back from her. I called again 2 days back and ask for her but she didn't called me back. Again today I called the office and and asked for her but the staff told me that she is in a IT meeting and can't speak to me. i asked for a escalation number but I was told there is no such thing.

Desired outcome: My ask is either I need the money back or Dentalworks should speak to insurance to resolve the issue to unblock my HCSA card.

Dental Works Teeth cleaning

I got a email from Dental works Mayfield, Ohio saying that they will see me in 15 minutes. Upon arrival the lady Dasha told me that she canceled the appointment. I asked her why and she said she tried to call me to see if I was coming. I told her I didn't get call but a email saying see you soon. She was rude and inconsiderate and said she told the hygienist to go home. This wanted my time because I had to leave work early.

Desired outcome: Reschedule me before Christmas with my current hygienist.

Dental Works Billing

I was called today, Dec. 15, 2022, for the first time for a bill they are telling me I owe since Feb of 2022 that I had no knowledge of. I asked the person that called what is the bill for. What is the date of service? What office is this from? Why am I just being told about this? He said he didn't have any of that information and I must call the office. I called and was able to get the reason for the balance basically they said my insurance didn't pay that portion. Ok, but now how do I pay the bill? Well, the lady in the office said I need to speak to the person that called me, and she doesn’t have information for me on how to pay it. I called back the same number that called me and I was sent to the dental office again. And again... She couldn't help me with how to pay and had no additional phone number to provide me. I am frustrated as hell. How do you call someone to tell them they owe a bill and there's no way to pay it? Angry is mild as to how I feel. Just like someone called me today. I should have been called when the balance first appeared. I have been going to Dental Works for over 8 years. Just know I will never again go to Dental Works nor will I refer anyone ever again. I need answers now and a phone number that can answer and help me. I don't have time to waste on this type of situation.

Desired outcome: I appreciate a quick response as I don't want to be sent to collections for something I had no idea of. Just like someone called me today. I should have been called when the balance first appeared.

Dental Works Nondisclosure of denied insurance coverage

On [protected] I contacted Dental Works {930 Boardman-Poland road. Boardman Ohio 44512 ph.# [protected]) to verify if they accepted my insurance. After confirming that they did I made an appointed for [protected] and had my back molar extracted. After the procedure I went to the front desk and they informed me that I owed $494.34. I asked her (office # spbm) how much of the bill will my insurance cover and she informed me that my insurance is not going to cover any of the bill because she already sent the dental codes to the insurance and they denied coverage. I asked her why it was denied and she informed me that the procedure they used was not covered and I then asked her since she knew my insurance would not cover why wasn't I informed before I had my tooth pulled. All she said was your insurance was denied, how much money do you want to put toward the bill. I was billed $146.93 for consultation (code D9310) insurance paid $00. surgical extraction $237.34 (code D7210) ins $00. mouthwash $25.00 (code Z9610) ins $00. Xray $87.05 (code D0330) ins to be determined. The consultation consisted of the dentist looking at the tooth and saying yes it needs to come out. I believe they were fraudulent in the fact that I was never informed my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure until after the tooth was pulled. I have paid $100.00 toward the bill on the day of service.

Desired outcome: recode the entire discription of services and resubmit to insurance. Or take off 50% of remaining bill.

Dental Works New crowns

I had a crown break that was put into 5 to 6 years ago. Since my husband had been using Westgroove Dental for a few years I made an appointment to get the tooth fixed.

My first visit was on October 14th 2021 and I was told that I should get 4 other teeth crowned also. I followed the advice and scheduled the procedures.

I started the first crowns on Nov. 3rd on the lower right side.

On Nov. 10th I went to have the crowns installed. The dentist pushed so hard putting it in that I almost couldn’t stay in the chair. That tooth stated hurting from that day on for over a month.

On Dec. 3rd I had the work stated on two teeth on the lower left side. At this time I told dentist about the pain that I was experiencing from the first crowns installed. Did nothing about it.

On Dec. 20th the next crown was installed. Complained about the pain from the first crown installed and still nothing checked.

On Dec. 29th started working on the tooth that had the crown that was broken and started the dentist visit. Again complained about the pain and nothing done.

Jan. 5th went to have last crown installed. The crown was not made properly. Had to take another impression to get crown made.

The next visit for the crown install was told that the impression did not arrive at the lab in good condition and another impression made. They took X-rays of the tooth that has been hurting.

The next visit for the crown install did not have the crown in box that was sent. During this visit I was told that I would need a root canal to fix the pain. I became very upset that nothing was going good. Took another impression for the crown.

Still having pain and got an appointment to have first crown checked. The day of appointment dentist called to cancel the appointment and gave me a prescription for antibody.

The next appointment had the final crown installed. Done by a different dentist and this time it went smoothly.

By this time I was totally discouraged with Westgroove dental and went to a different dentist office. This office took great care of me and great care of me. They removed the first crown that was put on and reported that an excess of cement was used and the tooth was cracked. I expect that the excess pressure used when it was installed cracked the tooth and that was what caused the month long pain that I suffered. I let them finish repairing the tooth and I have been pain free since.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a partial refund of the $5000 it cost at Westgroove to compensate for the pain and the extra expense to fix what I believe was poor job on first crown and other problems I experienced at your office.

Dental Works Billing issues that should have been submitted sooner!

Was devastated by all the pressure of Dental Works trying to get me to pay a final bill that should have been paid by the insurance (2018-19) I paid an additional $90-$150 ($60/$30x3), of my own money that I never got refunded. I told them they owed me a refund! This was never resolved. I was heartbroken as I initially gave a Five star rating.

Desired outcome: A Refund!!!

After being in dentist chair for 45 minutes they told her to either pay or go home
Tried calling and talking to them but office manager was rude and talked over me

Desired outcome: Sincere apology

Dental Works Dental charges

On 9/29/2021 I went to dentist because I had a tooth ache, they said I need to have the tooth pulled and I need to spend 6, 000 to get two implants and a bridge. I told them no, I cant afford that, the billing lady in office said it was a package deal. I said im am sorry, I just cant afford that price. dont do anything, just pull the tooth and I will decide later after everything heals. They charged me 1882.00 for pulling the tooth. She said it included 300.00 dollars for a bone graff and stitches.

on 10/06 2021 I went back and they pulled another tooth and stitched it up the same as the one on 9/29/2021 and charged me 190.00

both times they pulled a tooth and both times they stitched it up, but the first tooth cost me 1882.00 and the second tooth cost me 190.00 and the only difference was the second tooth had a bone graff, which was 300.00 dollars. so the most I should have paid for first tooth was 190.00 + 300.00 for bone graff for a total of 490.00 dollars, all xrays and office visit was paid by my insurance

1882.00 -490.00 = 1392.00
I was over charged 1392.00 dollars

They wouldnt give me a copy of the costs, just a receipt for paying the bill

DENTALWORKS 5555 YOUNGSTOWN WARREN ROAD
NILES OHIO [protected]

Desired outcome: 1393.00 refund

Dental Works Permanent cap

This is a claim against imperial oaks dental in spring Texas. I had two temporary caps place on my front teeth in September 2021. When I went to get the caps off the assistant used the wrong glue. It took 3 people to remove them. I needed two more caps placed on my teeth. Even then was a nightmare. He sliced my tongue (resulting in urgent care antibiotics). I have been calling for weeks because I cannot even eat and I'm still waiting almost 5 weeks later to get my crowns on. Whatever policy's etc need to be done this place needs to be shut down.
