Purchased a extended warranty thru Direct Buy. The heater went out in my vehicle. I called Direct Buy and informed them that the heater went out in my car. They informed me to take the vehicle to a ASE certified company. I did. My car sat there for a day. I called Direct Buy back the following day they informed me that they had to send out a inspector before my car could be repaired. I waited a second day, the inspector came out and asked the mechanic shop 2 questions and he never touched my car. Direct Buy informed me that they would only pay $500 toward the repair. I purchased the Platinum Elite Plan from Direct Buy which they alleged would cover my vehicle bumper to bumper. The sales person who sold the plan informed me that I would not have any out of pocket expenses. Needless to say Direct Buy did not repair my vehicle. When I called to cancel, they gave me the run around, transferring me from person to person and no one was ever able to give me clear answers. I had to wait several hours to receive the cancellation form. When I finally did receive it they pro-rated the amount to $1630 although they never provided me any form of service. Complete rip off.
If you think you really must have an extended warranty, then buy one from the car's manufacturer---never from one of these after-market places. They tend to scam you by not paying, etc.
