Will not honor their warranty on order # 389650
Ordered 3 grape plants from Direct Gardening on April 20, 2020. Towards the end of May became concerned that my order #389650 hadn't shipped. Contacted them by email because they never answered their phone. End of May I emailed them telling them that if I didn't receive my order within a week I wanted a refund. No response. June 2nd I requested a refund (Email) as the planting time was over for any reasonable chance of survival of bare rooted plants. On June 4th they shipped the order even though I requested a refund. The plants arrived mostly dead (no live buds). Doing some investigation I realizing this company has some serious problems, I contacted my credit card company and reversed the charges. Direct Gardening fought it through the dispute process getting the charges replaced. The credit card dispute process was onerous and time sensitive. I felt I could always fall back on their warranty. I now asked them to honor their warranty. They refused stating it's because of the credit card chargeback which they still received payment. They didn't honor my request for a refund and now refuse to honor their warranty. So I'm now taking it to others to resolve this dispute.

Thank you for your e-mail. Our records indicate we have received your paperwork and a replacement order began processing for you. However, due to a chargeback being previously filed, the replacement order has been cancelled.

Car warranty - company went out of business
They went out of business and I paid for the warranty so how do I get reimbursed? I went to get my car serviced and they told me to see if someone else was servicing the warranty now but they are not. I called the attorney general office and they told me to file this complaint online.

extended car warranty "company"
Add me the sad list of depressed and misled - taken advantage of and defrauded out of money. I bought their "Super Dooper Deluxe" Warranty and now when I have a $3, 500 "covered" warranty item ... they are long gone.
How pathetic.
I'm wondering ... can I deduct the cost of my policy off of my taxes ... for being a [censor] ... and for buying this policy in the first place?
Sincerely,

Auto warranty & auto extended warranty-claims denied & can't get my refund!
Had 2 vehicle with DB warranties -- DB denies any claim, hard to contact and if you get someone to answer the phone they are very difficult. Sold my 2 and I have turned in the notarized statements as DB requested for a refund. They WILL NOT REFUND MY MONEY as promised (w/in 6 days)...ha! well its been months. THIS IS AN AWFUL FRAUDULENT COMPANY . Pursuing this with my Attorney to take action.
Warranty car
This company is a scam. Please file a complaint with your insurance commissioner investigative department (or consumer investigative department) and the Attorney General in your state. They have been at this for over 6 years stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from people. Do not buy anything from them, and I would suggest start the process to get your money back by filing complaints. Google and read about the Attorney General lawsuits against them in OK, NJ, and WA so far. They have cease and desist orders in these states so far and judgments against them. Good luck, sorry about the fraud.
Fraud
We purchased a warranty for a used vehicle from Direct Buy. We took the vehicle in for service and the mechanic tried throughout the day to contact Direct Buy with no luck; he continually was disconnected. We also tried with the same results. The next day, I finally was able to contact someone buy pressing the extension for sales, I spoke with John and he told me to email the info on the car. He then put me on hold which promptly disconnected the call. I emailed Bernie & John and have not gotten any response to date. We have made continual attempts for days to contact someone at Direct Buy. There system just keeps disconnecting the calls. At this point I just want my money back on the warranty I paid for, it is of no use. We had no choice but to have the vehicle repaired and pay out of pocket. It is impossible to get any response from Direct Buy. I basically was scammed into believing they were a legitimate company. They took my money and ran. Check with Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General office of New Jersey. They know all about Direct Buy...
Extended Warranty
I am a Service Advisor and have been for 22 years and have never dealt with a more unprofessional company EVER. I have tried to contact them to authorize repairs for the past 3 days and never get a response, no voice mail option and I have been disconnected 9 times in just the past 20 minutes! I have sent emails, faxes, searched for alternate phone numbers. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE business practice. DO NOT buy this warranty!
Worthless warranty
run don't walk away from this company!. i was not smart enough to check them out before purchasing a warranty from them. they sold me a warranty and took $300 dn payment from my credit card. i got smart and read reviews and called them 4 hrs later to cancel and they never responded. finally 3 days later i called them back on to be given lies that they would send me a email for me to sign and return and that they would process the refund. needless to say i never received the email and from that point on (they no the phone number of who's calling) they would never take my calls. i waited on hold for over 29 mins before i finally would hang up and then call right back on my sons phone and they would answer immediately and then place me right back on hold (all you get is complete silence while on hold) for an ungodly amount of time until i would hang up. i finally got smart and called my bank and let them know of the trouble i was having and they reversed the charge the same day. i did have to cancel that card (in order to stop them from further charges) and get a new one but it was well worth it! if you have been taken by these scam artist call your bank or credit card company immediately. that's the only way you will get a refund.
Direct Buy Auto Warranty Ripped Me Off. I spent $2, 000.00 on this so called warranty and when I needed them to file a clam on my car, I called the 800 number to file a claim [protected] and the number is no longer in service. These people need to go to jail for ripping people off of their hard earned money.

Customer Service
These people are incredible! I had requested a quote on a 2004 vehicle I recently purchased for my son. A “Senior Underwriter” proceeded to call me and gave me a quote that sounded like it was a pretty good deal. He pressured me to give him my credit card at that moment. He said even if I signed up, I had 30 days to cancel for a refund. I told him I would not do anything until he sent me information, and I had a chance to review it.
That evening, I researched this company. The complaints on the internet are a mile long and they have an ‘F’ rating by the BBB Better Business Bureau. So therefore, I would not do business with them.
The next day I receive a call from this Underwriter and he wanted to close on the warranty. I told him I would not, since the write-ups on the internet are so poor. He then took vicious attacks at me and then proceeded to accuse me of trying to scam his company with a “dirty” car. I assume this means one with lots of existing problems. Interesting, since I am the person who decided against potentially doing business with them. He threatened me and said he would “blackball” my vehicle so I could not get a warranty anywhere.
Shortly thereafter as I was locating their company phone number to lodge a complaint, another “Senior Underwriter” called me. He said he over heard the conversation and wanted to find out what the problem was. He said they would put this first guy back in additional training classes. I questioned both of them having the same title.
While this person showed initial empathy to my problem with the first guy, he then tried to close me 2 times. He tried to make me an even better deal, but I told him I would not do anything for several days; but I did grant him the opportunity to call me at that later date. He then tried to close me once more, questioning me on why I would not sign up now for a 6 year program. I told him that he is not a very good listener.
They are incredible, stay away!

DirectBuy Warranty refuses to answer their phones so that myself or our dealership can file a claim. I want my $4000 back if you can't process these claims. This is a rip off. We have also sent emails and there have been no response.
I have been with DBW for 2 years now! I signed for a 5 year contract. I am at the end of my payment cycle with them. My contract was for $1800 for a five year warranty! My contract is a $0 deductible one. I have had two major claims on my 2004 Chevy Venture, replace the main computer and replace the CV joints and front wheel bearings. They did this all without a moments hesitation and with no further aggravation from them whatsoever! I have 3 years left on my contract and look forward to continued business with them.
Not Reputable, Misrepresented
Thank God for websites like this. Finally, we as consumers can help each other. You will regret going with Direct Buy Warranty and if more of us don't take the time to warn one another you'll be their next victim! I'm not going to tell you about my HUGE PROBLEM with Direct Buy, rather I'm going to encourage you read the 100's (hundreds) of posts that others have written about their rude customer service and numerous DENIED CLAIMS. With so many complaints, would you chance a few thousand dollars and risk being without a car until Direct Buy finally decides to declines your claim? You have been warned! I do not know how they are still in business!

Do not buy an extended car warranty from them
Do not buy an extended car warranty from Direct Buy Warranty, firstly they charge your credit card from outside the US. Then when you call their customer service line, they don't even have an office and an answering service answers. I have asked for a refund and they haven't got back to me but I am disputing the charge through my credit card company.
They are a fly by night operation, don't get taken !
undisclosed stipulations
After having this warranty for only 9 months, and having our transmission go out, we took it to a certified repair shop only to have our claim deniued because we had our "maintenance" done at Terrible HErbst which is not an ASE certified repair facility. WE have had our car for four years prior to purchasing this warranty, and have had most all of our "maintenance" done by Terrible HErbst. Even the dealerships accept their service. They said it is right in the contract that all "maintenance " must be done by an ASE certified shop. This should have been disclosed before I purchased the warranty, because then we would have known that it would never have worked for us due to our history with Terrible HErbst. When we asked for a refund they only wanted to give us 1071 of the 1749 we paid. When we asked for a breakdown of their accounting for the cancellation, they would not respond. When I filed a complaint with the BBB they finally responded and siad they would refund 1423.00 WE decided to just take that and be done with them, but now they want us to dispute it with our Credit Card company to get our money back. Th card we origianlly used has been closed by the Evil Bank of America ( that's another story) so we can't even get it back that way. WHen I finally got through to customer service, as they won't answer my emails, they siad they cannot issue a credit to a card they did not charge. REALLY? SO now we are waiting to see if they will send us a check for our refund. Mind you, they have never paid out one cent on this 1749.00 warranty we paid for, and they NEVER would have because of their little loophole in their contract. Yes, I should have read the contract closer, but as consumers, I think we need to realize that companies such as this, are in it to make money, not give you "PEace of MInd" as they state. They will find any excuse to not pay on your claims. READ the fine print carefully. This was a 3500.00 mistake for us.

Vehicle warranty scam
This company is a complete scam. They will tell you every item you inquire about is covered. They will tell you they are one of the best extended warranty companies on the web and they will tell you they are selling you a bumper to bumper warranty. Then you try to use it. They immediately deny all claims then there is no further communication. When they seek it to you the tell you it can be cancelled at any time with full refund then they try and keep the majority of the money paid when asked for the refund. They don't cover any of the items they have listed on their contract and they hope you cancel so they can keep a portion of the money you paid. It is an interest free loan to them and thy know most people won't pursue them. This is not a regulated industry so they can get away with it. Please beware! These guys Are bad!
I bought a BMW from them for what was a great price. The sales guy was nice, although maybe a little rushed when dealing with me, but very helpful. The finance aspect was farily quick, and the gentleman that helped me with finance was really nice. I got the extended warranty that they offered me, and I would like to say that it has been fantastic. I had a starter coil replaced, and I had my rear differential replaced -- the car was 85, 000 miles at the time -- and with each, I only paid $50. In essence, I got $1600 of parts and labor for $100 total. I have inquired with my BMW dealer the cost and coverage should certain items need to be replaced, such as the headlight ballast/starter (what ever it's called) for the Xenon lights, and that is covered. The audio system display is covered. The tire monitoring system is covered. Etc. I asked because I do anticiapte that a 2006 will need some work in the next 2 years. So far, I have been completely pleased with the entire process including this amazing warranty. I live in Austin, so I don't know any one else who has dealt with them, but with as many cars as they sell, I wouldn't be surprised if some issues came along.
Warranty Scam
I dont know what to say, these guys say they cover everything including wear and tear and tires also when I purchased the policy.
After two months, my car had axle problem and i took to them, they said, since I drove it to mechanic shop which is 1 mile, it does come under warranty.
I dont know where i have file a complaint on this people. please advice. I cancelled my policy and they are saying we didnt recieve your email and hence we cannot refund your 50% amount.
What should I do.
on 12/04/2014 I paid $1800.00 cash for a 3 year auto warranty from Jacob Palmer DIRECT BUY to end on 12/04/2017 I never used the warranty and sold my car 5/ 27/ 2015 I had this warranty app. six months. After contacting this company many, many, many, times they finally said I would get a refund of $726.00 I have called them about once a week since I sold my car. Finally they said they sent the check on the 10th of august I am still calling them once a week and on one of the calls I was on hold for 50 min. and I am still waiting for that $726.00 I have no idea where they came up with $726.00 as a refund
Scam - denied claim
I have a 2006 Hummer H2 SUT with 59, 000 miles on it. My transmission went out and I submitted receipts from where it was towed from the side of the road and also towed to the dealership and a letter from the dealership stating that once the transmission sprag broke that lost all gears - their "Master Mechanic" - complete idiot says that there is no way all the gears went out at the same time. The dealership said I would have only had second gear and there is no way it could be driven. DO NOT BUY a warranty from them. They will do everything possible to keep from paying - They refunded partial payment of the premium and canceled the policy. SCAM BEWARE!
I HAVE A 2006 LINCOLN AVA. 98000 MILES MY GAS PEDAL BROKE THEY REFUSED COVERAGE THEY SAY NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR COMPRESSOR WENT OUT DENIED COVERAGE ON AIR CONDITIONER NOT ONE CLAIM HAS EVER BEEN CLAMIED THEY ARE A FRAUD ASK TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR THEY LAUGHED DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY VERY BAD SERVICE
I had my cl55 amg 2005 Mercedes in to the MB dealership March 14, 2013 to check ABS light that has been coming on. Yes I needed Direct Buy to step up for the repair claim. Your correct they denied the claim and agree to pay about 10% of what the repairs will cost. The Mercedes Tech said my claim is almost always approved. The only time in his experience is when an auto insurance company is not legit. Stay away from this Company
Believe it or not, my Dealership advise me that Warranties are no longer necessary. just because it's not worth it to their small town dealership, you're only paying x-amount of dollars for the scams to invest. and when needed. they will used the interest to pay for your repair., Therefore, you still come out head having oil change etc. at Midas, and so on, due to it being cheaper, and in and out faster.
Direct Buys are scams. I keep getting crap e-mails from those jerks, and with a phony address. to make it impossible to block their e-mail address and change their e-mail address.
Don't taken any offers from Direct Buy" not only are they in the 'BURBS" they are impossible to fine their location. absolutely rude Employees, I did not taken their free Invite, I was called back 2x, if the 3x, I would not be polite, yell and scram at them, well, they learn the hard way to avoid harassing.
Rip off
Simply put this company's service is a scam. I believed it would provide a great service as promised. On the site it stated it was number one in the country but I beg to differ. Once I got the warranty I thought I had everything covered. The unusual part is they told me they will not take any money though my credit card and a safer and better way would be through money orders. I believed them. I am a 73 year old man and I think they took advantage of me due to my old age. After while I noticed that my credit card was being charged by them, while I was still sending in money orders. I was basically getting double charged for a service that I havent used. Then when the time came and my car started to act up I took it in for repairs. I asked if they would cover it they said "NO". I wanted to speak to a manager but everytime I requested one he wouldn't be there. I noticed that as they transferred me to another person it would be the exact same person with a different name. Then I cancelled it and requested a full refund for the money orders and the money taken from my credit card, but they only refunded 500 dollars which was the first payment thay they requested up front. In the end they wouldn't reimburse me the remaining 222 dollars and 24 cents. After calling them multiple times asking to speak to a manager concerning this matter, they would put me on hold and never pick up.
Fraud
Too late.. I have already become a victim! Someone needs to dosomething about this company from scaming people. I bought what they so called "warranty" back in July for $1700 something. After a month, my tranny broken down out of no where in lake tahoe during rafting trip. I had to spend $500 to tow the car back to repair shop. Later find Direct Buy Warrant doesn't even cover a DIME! I have been talking day & night with them, and have provided every maintainence record to them (tranny service every 2 years!).. They just dont' cover it by saying they don't cover pre-existing condition~ Godsh~ How do you define pre-exisiting condition? My service shop where i don't my tranny told me everything was in good shape... But by direct warranty's standard, every car is going to have pre-exisitng condtion pass 10000 miels... if that's the case.. what's the point of buying that warranty?
Man.. Their customer service is the wosrt! I am so angry.. It took me at least 10~15 time to fax a single paper to them.. they kept on saying they didn't recieve in the fax... which i know they lie. This is the way of how they delay your claim.
Now.. their cancellation is driving me nuts... They will only refund 50% !... YES, that's right, 50% only... I paid 1700 that means i am only getting 850 back... I wasted $850 for getting NOTHING! NODA~ NOTHING~~
Be WARN! DO NOT TRUST THOSE PEOPLE! THEY ARE BUNCH OF CHEATERS; THEY DO NOTHING BUY TAKE MONEY AWAY FROM YOU!`

I purchased an extended policy from Direct Buy which doesn't run out until November 2018. Now I understand they are out of business, and their phone number has been disconnected. What now? Anyone know of a class action suit against them. Count me in.
I paid over $4000 for an extended warranty on a Viper. After over a year, tried repeatedly to contact them for a fairly small claim, only a couple hundred dollars for 2 switches. Can't reach them. Zack, once again, was the original contact, and I questioned their veracity at the time. Was reassured that any negative feedback was due to dissatisfied customers who had previous conditions on their vehicles before purchasing a warranty. I am out a large chunk of money for essentially nothing. No warranty, no refund, and I paid up front.
I canceled my warranty..i sent the docments they needed...odometer disclosure statements all notarized...i did this paper work on 10th dec 2015 have tired to contact won't answer the call...no refund has been sent to me.

I heard this company has reopen under another name. That should not be allowed. What in the world is going on here? Very sad If that is true. I hope every one get they claims taken care of, are get there money back.
Hi my name is Bonnie Anderson I purchased a Extend Warranty 2014-12-11 And 65914 miles TO 2018-12-11 miles I paid a down payment of a $150.00.down A monthly payment of .$85.67 .I stopped payment in February 2016 After I could not reach them by phone.after I read so many complaints about them I got to wondering. so that is why I called them. Thank God My Car Is still running okay. No i would Like to get a refund of what I spent because I have to purchase another warranty.i have to start all over again
PLEASE contact your Attorney General and your Insurance Commissioner in the state you reside. This is the ONLY way to get these scammers to stop. They got kicked out of NJ, and sued by the Attorney General Offices in NJ, OK and WA. I have contacted and spoken with both of those in my state of CA, as I have requested a refund after only 6 mo on a contract and have not been paid. I paid 2k for my warranty and was due back 1, 400 for the unused portion. I have been waiting for over 6 mo and have the same issues with them not answering the phone, losing paper work etc. This is not a real company and they have gotten away with this for over 6 years that I can see so far. Can you imaging the hundreds of thousands of dollars they have stolen from hard working people? How there is no criminal complaint filed against these people is beyond me. Clearly fraud. There are several suits agains them privately you can find if you google that also. PLEASE file a complaint either online of call, so each state can start the ball rolling to shut them down. I think they are no longer answering phones due to the fact they are on the run now. They owe judgements and fines of over 500k in Texas alone. Google and look up Direct Buy Associates Warranty and Direct Buy Warranty. File the complaints!
