I just filed a complaint and now it said I need a _1 to continue You took my money Money was withdrawn from my NetSpend Account without my permission There was to be no money taken out until October 6 I was at Casey's and I went to use my card which should have had money on it and my purchase was declined I was embarrassed and upset That was all the money I have I want to be reimbursed ASAP

Cancelling Service
I called to cancel my warranty and they told me it had already been cancelled so at that time I asked them if they would be taking anymore money out of my account and they said no. Well today I looked at my bank account and they have taken a payment. I have been on the phone holding for 40 minutes when they say my estimated wait time is 10 minutes.

No technician found - no refund, no service center
In Spring of 2022, I purchased AWR Home Warranty Service, in full, and in advance. During that same spring, my outlets began to arc and blow out. I had already contracted an electrician to upgrade my panel, and I filed a claim in case the wiring throughout the house needed replacement. My $55 claim fee was accepted without any further action.
On December 26, 2022, I experienced a plumbing blockage with the sewer line (not the toilet) backing up into the bathtub and pouring all through the kitchen ceiling on the first floor, below. I had no means to wash dishes, take a shower, use the toilet, or otherwise drain any water without further damage. Claim # [protected].
On December 27, I called the service center (somehow, I got through) and spoke to someone whom I could hardly understand and asked what the status was. From his horribly broken English, I gathered that a technician could not be found to service my plumbing - he claimed that a total of 15 individuals/businesses had been contacted.
On December 28, I was offered $300 to pay towards my emergency repair because nobody was found to do the work. Of course, the buyout had strict stipulations and nobody would answer my question about the repair costing more than the $300 buyout.
SINCE THAT TIME...I have called the customer service center a total of 4 different times to request a refund of the $55 claim fee and the balance of my service contract which, in my estimation, will never be fulfilled given that nobody can be contacted by their company. I have exchanged emails with 5 different company representatives without any satisfaction OR remedy. Each response has been the same: contact the number provided to request a refund. When I called the number provided, I was placed on hold and never spoke to a living person - the last call was a 2 1/2 hour wait time until my phone batter went low and I hung up.
DO NOT invest in this business. It will only result in frustration, loss of income, and a complete run-around.
Desired outcome: I would like a complete refund for my fees and service contract. In full.
Cooktop
I have been paying this company for about two years for a home warranty. Please don't do what I've done. The company is a sham and a total ripoff. I initially contact ARW to discuss what they covered and how the process worked. I explained to the company rep that we had Thermador appliances in our home and wanted to insure they would be covered if I ever need to repair or replace them. The rep assured me they deal with expensive appliances all the time and if something should break they would have them repaired or replaced with Thermador appliances. Recently, two of the cooktop burners stop working. I contacted ARW and was told to "find someone in the area who works on Thermador". After doing so, I contacted ARW to give them the company contact to do the repair and was offered a "$400 Settlement Check" to get my cooktop repaired. I requested that they contact the company and just get the stove fixed, but was then informed that $400 was the max the company would pay for repair or replacement of any appliance. The total repair was $595 plus a $200 outcall charge.
This was not my first issue with the company. About one year ago we had a plumbing issue. The company informed me that they did not service this type of problem. I fought with the rep and was able to speak to a supervisor who finally agreed that ARW covers the problem. After a few weeks they got someone to my house and "fixed the problem". However now we have no water pressure in the guest bathroom. Again, I contact ARW and was told they fixed the problem and the loss of water pressure is not something they deal with even thought their "fix caused the problem".
Please do not be scammed by this company. Run away as fast as you can!

Air Condition
I have been a customer of American Residential Warrenty for about 20 years and I have two Air Condition unit. I need the multiple Air Condition unit plan for both of them to be covered. American Residential Warrently send out a technician to repair one unit and later the second unit stop working. Now I am being told only one is covered with my plan.
Desired outcome: When did American Residential Warrently institued the Multiple Air Condition coverage? If it started after I purchased the Residential Warrenty plan replace my second Air condition unit.
Hvac
I woke up one morning with water all over my kitchen counter coming through the walls from my HVAC unit that is in my attic. I called American Residential to file a claim. I payed my deductible and a company was dispatched. The gentleman said it was fixed, noticed later it was leaking worse. They came back to fix something and went on their way. This was a Friday and when I called back to say it was still leaking they said the could not send anyone out until Monday. They called today to say they checked with ARW and claimed it was preexisting and therefore not covered. This had never happened before and I am wondering if everything with the warranty will be called preexisting.
Desired outcome: I need the leak to be stopped before further damage is done

Washing machine
I have been waiting for over 3 weeks for them to fix it a washing machine that's only 2 yrs old but they have no idea how to fix and have been giving me the run around transferring me from person to person on the phone. Don't trust them with your machines or your money! I have been on the phone with them for over 2 hours and no one knows what's going on!

At the end of May 2021, I called American Residential Warranty to file a claim on my A/C Unit. I paid a $55 claim fee and was issued claim number [protected]. On 5/28/21, a representative from A-Comfort troubleshot my A/C unit. He performed a leak test and found an indoor coil leak. He also noted my A/C unit was old explained the issues he found and my options. He also stated this would be a temporary fix because my A /C unit really needs to be replaced. He said he could put some freon in my unit as a temporary fix until we heard back from ARW to confirm what is covered in my contract. I paid A-Comfort $310 with my credit card to cover the cost of adding freon to my A/C unit.
On 6/8/21, I called ARW to f/u on my claim. I was informed my contract does not cover adding freon to A/C units. I said fine, but they also stated my A/C unit needs to be replaced. I allowed A-Comfort to add freon so that I could have AC in my home while we waited on a response from ARW.
On 6/17/2021, Ashley with A-Comfort resubmitted an invoice to ARW listing the options to repair my A/C unit. I did not receive a callback or email from ARW. I called ARW back asked for a Customer Service Manager. He told me to send the invoice with the amount I paid for my new A/C unit to [protected]@arwplans.com he said I would be reimbursed $600 towards my new unit.
On 6/17/21, I had a new A/C unit installed by a vendor of my choice Progressive. I paid $5700.42. I sent email correspondences to ARW on 6/17/21, 7/6/2021, 7/13/21, and 7/2021 and no one has responded to my emails or attempted to call me.
This is my third request to cancel my contract with ARW and stop withdrawing $59.99 out of my checking. I would like to be reimbursed for $600 for a new A/C unit and $59.99 for the fee you withdraw from my checking account on 7/20/21.
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed $600 as quoted towards the price of the new A/C unit and $59.099 which was withdraw from my checking account after I asked ARW to cancel my contact last month.
HVAC repair approval
This place is ridiculous! I have a claim for AC repair. The HVAC repairman came out, inspected, found a leak and busted pipe. The approval he got to do the work was $500. He was able to fill the freon. For the repair, we are still waiting on approval…that was 2 weeks ago. The freon will keep us cool for a while. The freon will eventually leak out. Last time I called America's Residential Home Warranty, I was on hold for 20 minutes. No representative answered.

Electrical Claim
On May 25, 2021, I placed an electrical claim with American Residential Warranty. Omni Electric was sent to my home to evaluate and estimate the repair cost. On June 4, 2021, Omni Electric sent an invoice in the amount of $625.00. My responsibility for the cost was $325.00, which I paid, and American Residential Warranty was to pay the remainder of $300.00, which have not been paid.
Since, that time I have been attempting to contact American Residential Warranty to get them to send the $300.00 payment to Omni Electric only to be transferred to the resolution department and remain on hold for over an hour or more than be disconnected.
To date, American Residential Warranty have not paid the $300.00 for have my electrical repairs.

Air conditioning unit
We payed to have your service. We file a claim to have our AC looked at. Only to be told that you have no one in our area that can come look at it. So our only recourse is to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed or be cashed out! That's our options! Why did you even accept our business of no one was in our area? Your service and company are worthless. A waste of money! I will never recommend you to anyone.
Service Provider False diagnosis
Called to file a claim on AC not working. They sent a tech that falsely diagnosed the problem to sell me a NEW system of $4900. I called a local company that fixed a simple issue in 30 minutes. The company that was sent by ARW disconnected the system and falsely said we system was full of mold to the insurance company in order to get me to buy a NEW system and have my claim denied. Now ARW will not pick up the phone, answer my emails, ect. These people prey on the elderly. A local company came in and fixed the system for $200. So I cost me $55 from the insurance co and $200 to a total of $255. The tech also told the insurance company that is was a gas system that is not covered. Its Not - Its electric.
Desired outcome: Wantt my $255 back and Cancel my warranty with refund
Insufficient repairs on residential refrigerator
On or around November the 2nd, We contacted ARW Insurance because our refrigerator stopped freezing. We were advised that we would have to pay $55 service fee to schedule a appointment, which was ok with us. a claim was filed, a tech was sent out. We were told by the tech that everything was now working correctly and that we would have no more problems with the refrigerator. Now, 30 days later, we are having the same problem that this tech and company claimed that was repaired. We contacted American Residential Warranty, and discussed the situation with them, and we were advised that the 30 day warranty was up, and that our allotment money was spent, which we were not aware of when we first signed up for this insurance. We have tried unsuccessfully several times to communicate with associates and supervisors about the situation. They are supposed to be problem solvers. We asked that the same company be sent back out to repair the problem they were paid to repair . Filing an expedited claim
I called your company Wednesday, November 25th, and spoke with some old guy who could not pull up my account. I have spoke with 3 people this morning that can't speak English at all, it was very difficult to understand what they were saying. I had to demand a claim# 726201800. I have a leak under my kitchen sink and I have asked for an expedited appointment, one customer service rep. tells me the appointment will be Tuesday, Dec 1st, another representative says it will be Wednesday before they can dispatch my claim. This is unacceptable, I have asked to speak with a Supervisor on every call, and have not received a call back. I want a call from a Supervisor today and I want this issue resolved today. My next step is to report this company to the Better Business Bureau.
Services delivered & poorly rated contractor
On 8/20/2020 I called to make a service claim. My claim number is 17181618. It was in reference to plumbing . My first concern is that it was an emergency and the first appointment was Saturday, 8/22/2020. I was assigned Eagle Plumbing. I was not familiar with the company and looked on the Better Business Bureau website to find information. The company is rated F.
On 8/21/2020 I called to ask for another company and to ask why would you have a company rated F as one of your contractors. I was told that I needed to speak with a reviewer or hearing officer type person to ask for another contractor. I was placed on hold. I waited on hold for one hour, 30 minutes and 11 seconds. During that time no one came back to the phone to say sorry for the wait or would you like a call back due to the volume.
I called back on another phone to complain about being on hold and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 46 minutes and 7 seconds. I hung up- once again no one came to the phone to say we are busy - can we call you back- no other contact was made with me on either call once I was placed on hold.
So now I find myself with a service appointment with a company that is rated F by the Better Business Bureau. I am seriously concerned and apprehensive about the service that I will receive. I have had this warranty service for several years and the service has seriously deteriorated.

I have an iPad that was having a charging issue. After trying several cords both apple and off-market, it would not charge.
I took it to Apple who tested it and told me the charging port was defective. As I have electronics protection, I filed a claim and paid the deductible. I sent it in only to get it back with a "new" screen. The original screen was NOT defective.
However, the "new" screen immediately separated from the unit. I sent it back a second time. Once again, all they did was fix the screen and did not address the charging port. This has been going on since August.
The third time it went back again for the charging port, they kept it 2 days and said they were sending it back "as is". They stated it was locked and on the cloud. The last time they told me to send it back, they only sent me a label, no paperwork to fill out. And the reason for that was I was told "they aren't interested in fixing it" but they need the unit in hand to replace it.
So when I finally got it back (mid-November), they stated because it was locked, they sent me an email stating that the claim was going forward and an agent would call. Ten days later I called them and that's when I was told they weren't interested in fixing it. Now finally that I have it back - still not fixed - they want my cord. This is all just stall tactics and ridiculous.
It doesn't charge with ANY cord, apple or not.
By the way, in the paperwork they sent back they said they tried to get ahold of me which is totally untrue as I track every call to my cell phone.
Today I called and asked for a refund on my deductible which they refused to issue because work was done on it.
However, the work that was done was not correct. It was not the work requested and now I have had to replace the unit because "I" am not interested in continuing this farce of sending this iPad back and forth.

will not cover expenses
American Residential Home Warranty is a rip off. My AC unit stopped working on a Friday, when I got home that afternoon I called them to start a claim. It took them almost a week to send a tech to see what the problem was, even though this is consider an Emergency because the temperature outside is more than 90 degrees. Their reason it took them so long is because they need two business days to process that claim and send someone, they do not work on weekends.
After my AC unit was check, I was informed that my unit had no repair and the American Residential Home Warranty would not paid for a new one and they would only give $511.00 after $89 they paid the tech. The estimate to replace my unit is around $8000.
I got insurance so I did not have to worry about these big expenses, but all these companies will quit on you once things go south. So disappointed.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.

Do not, under any circumstance, use American Residential Home Warranty. This company is a scam full of crooks. I had paid $90 per month for one year before I had to submit a claim for a new water heater on 12/6/16. I submitted a claim and was told that my model was older and that I was only able to get back $300, but of that $300, $25 additional dollars was supposedly given to the contractor. I checked with the contractor and they said they did not receive the additional money above the $55 service fee I paid them when they showed up. The fine print says that the liability clause may affect the payout but they do not ask for your model # up front so the only way you will know is when you submit a claim and are told you still have to pay 90% of the bill! That company steals money and hides behind fine print that the consumer has no way of knowing about until it is too late! Stay away from this company and tell everyone you know to do the same.
