Trees and perennials
I ordered some skyrocket junipers and a couple perennials on May 24th. They had a chart listed with the "Spring 2022 Shipping schedule" which stated all plants will be shipped using the proper timelines per growing zone listed in the chart. My last date of possible shipment was 6/3/22. As I kept checking the status of my order the shipping dates were moved back every single day I checked...AND it also stated that the items were available to ship-which made me even more skeptical that this was even going to happen. I tried chatting with them on their "live chat" but it is only an automated chat giving me the information I could already see from my order status page. I did get through to CS agents a couple of times. The first girl I spoke to simply gave me the ship date I could already see on my order page, and when I questioned her on if this order is actually going to ship at all, she blurted out "Do you want to cancel?!" before I even finished my first sentence. Right then I felt that this business is not able to fulfill this order, or if they do, whatever they send me will be dead, or just plain crap that they will never refund or guarantee. After I asked her to please listen, I asked her if they actually have the items and if they are really going to be shipped. She made me hold for a bit, then came back and said yes, but they were still waiting on them to be delivered to their location, then they would ship to me. So I thought, ok, maybe this is just a small distributor instead of the nursery I was led to believe. And maybe they were struggling with shipping delays like everyone else. So I gave it a few more days...each day checking my order status and each day the shipping date was extended. It is now June 7th, and to my regret I am just now checking the BBB to see if there are other complaints...lo and behold there are. I went online and canceled my order. I called them back to make sure they are seeing that it is cancelled too. The guy who answered this time said that he could see that the order was cancelled, so I asked when I would be refunded. He said I already was. I asked him to email me a confirmation that the order was cancelled, and that they refunded me my money. He said that the email would come in 48 hours. I thought it was very fishy that a cancellation email would take that long, and that I was already refunded. I called my CC company to see if they could see a credit and they said no, but that I should probably wait at least 24 hours to file a dispute. So I guess I will do that. I would recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing from this company to absolutely not do it...they are very, very, unreliable.
Desired outcome: I want my $82.76 credited back to my credit card for this cancelled order, along with an email detailing the cancelled order and full refund.

Hello I ordered some products plants etc more than 3 weeks ago and I contacted customer services to see where they were I was told they would deliver them when they could I'm at they weren't anywhere near being sent yet I asked if it would be soon and they said they didn't know so I asked if I could add a couple of things to my order which they agreed and did but I said if it doesn't arrive by the weekend which would be nearly 4 weeks then I would think that it probably wasn't coming and will cancel the whole order I was told that would be ok to contact the customer service person Emma if I wanted to cancel my order today Friday I sent an email and I have to cancel my order I was told that she couldn't cancel it because it was too late so that was different information to what I've been given when I will do more things then I found out that she had cancelled it initially she said it would take another 2 days to 3 days to be delivered so I thought ok I don't really want to wait any longer but at least it's coming then I found out that even though am I said she couldn't cancel an order she did cancel it I'm not happy with this level of service firstly having to wait so long then being told I couldn't cancel my order then having my order cancelled by customer service representative after I said ok don't worry I will receive your order as because she said it was due to be sent out in a couple of days so the information has been very cool and now I'm left with no order after waiting 3 weeks and the customer service representative thinks she's been helpful actually I think her attitude was wrong I think she should have been trying to get my order to me not telling me she had no information and then if I liked I could cancel or she also said I can raise a PayPal dispute if I like then she cancelled my order not helpful
Desired outcome: I want my order delivered plus I'd like an apology from the company
Warranty
Purchased several plants and tree last June of 2021. The plants all had a 1 year warranty. 1 of my blueberry plants did not survive the winter. I called Direct Gardening and they said business was sold and the new owners are not responsible for any warranty. They are still operating as Direct Gardening just different address. They did offer a $10.00 credit towards a future purchase, but the cost of the plants more then that.
Desired outcome: I want my Premium Herbert Blueberry plant replaced.

Plants arrived dead I did everything I was asked to get my refund they gave me a certificate for plants.

With such poor customer service it's hard to understand how you are still in business at least respond. That is the least you can do. Order never received
I placed an order (#402874) on April 26th and my card was charged on May 22nd. I have sent 3 emails and spoke to customer service to no avail. I tried to be patient due to COVID delays, but all of the other online transactions that I have placed went smoothly. The man I spoke with in their customer service department said that it has been too long for my order, even with their backlog. Now when I try to call their machine says to "call back during business hours", even though my call IS during that time.
I also sent in an order on March 23, 2021. Check was cashed April 7th. I called on April 21 and was told my order was processing and will be sent asap.
I have called back practically every day since and the line is permanently busy. Still no order received and 3 numbers I have called are all constantly busy. I didn't even get an order number. Anita .A. 06/01/21

This business should be shut down. An order placed months ago, no response to demands to cancel and credit credit card, phone number always busy, automatic email regarding high volume and failure to respond promptly, claims the order cannot be cancelled as order in different department. Just not bad business, but elements of consumer fraud.

Dead flowers and shrubs
They lied about my order. They shipped dead plants that they claimed were JUST DORMANT. They refused to replace my full order (nothing lived!). They replaced only part of it. They claimed that it was OK to plant after the first frost in Ohio. All of the replacement plants died too! They promised IN WRITING to honor the same guarantee as the original order for a period of one year. Eight months later, they disavowed their original stated policy. Now, I have NO LIVING PLANTS. I am out $450.00. They do NOT have a customer service phone number that anyone will answer. They only deal with you via email and they just keep restating their same claim even when presented with the evidence of what they actually told me in writing the year prior. They claim that their customer service director named GRACE AVERY (if she is really even a person) does not accept phone calls. She only deals with people via US mail. I sent my same complaint to her via US mail six weeks ago. She must really be busy because she cannot find time to place a phone call, a text, or an email to me to even acknowledge my complaint! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE RIP-OFF ARTISTS! They have a GREAT website with lots of color pictures, but you do NOT get what you are shown.
Trees ordered
I ordered some trees and good faith after a month and many reminders got the package containing some seeds a pamphlet and some sticks instead of trees after lots of emails and reminders I was asked to send back shipping label, three went after seeing ding the labels a5 first they refused having received the labels, few emails later and after providing tracking number now they say they want to the trees back, ridiculous and horrible company refusing to issue an refund Instead asking you accept replacement voucher, highly fraudulent company

They would get a 0 if had could give it. Last year I ordered $500.76 of thyme. When I finally got them, they were black and smelled like mold. I called and they said they were dormant and to plant them. I paid two people to help me plant the 700 plants. Not one lived. I had taken a picture of the shipping label and all the information on the bag as it was raining and I was afraid it wouldn't survive. Of course, it got thrown out but the picture was perfect. When I called them again, they told me to wait until they had a chance to grow. Dead is dead but I waited. When I called and emailed again, they said I had to mail the original label on that nasty bag back. I sent the pictures that were very clear but they refused to give me my money back. Even after I sent pictures originally of how black and dead they were when received. I fought like hell for a year and they finally sent replacements. Guess what? Half were dead but some had green and about 87 were missing. I contacted immediately about the missing and cut the label and all information from the package and kept it. I let them know the condition was not good and how many were missing. A month later they had me mail in the label and a letter requesting replacements for the 87 and told me to wait to see if the thyme grew. It didn't. I got a replacement credit for the 87 missing plants of $53.87 but they refuse to give me the remaining credit so I can actually get something that will live. I am wondering if anything lives they send. DON'T BUY FROM this RIPOFF deceiving company. ALL THEY DO IS GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND HOPING YOU WON'T PERSUE.
Plant order fulfillment/guarantee of replacement
I plan to report my grievances with everyone and anyone/any where and any place I can. If I had only done my research before ordering! The business is a joke, a blunder of true idiots! They should be closed down! Took 8?weeks to get my first order, never received a second order placed while I was convinced my guarantee was being honored on the first order! Had to file a complaint with my credit card company because after 10 weeks of follow up and given the run around on when it would ship. I was told it may be too late to cancel the second order that it may be in processing. I thought I would split my side with laughter...how long does it take to process? What a package of true NUTS! Got my money back on my second order thanks to Chase but never received my replacement plants. Their guarantee is as valuable as the cat crap covered up in my flowerbed!
Seed potatoes
I ordered seed potatoes for $17.97, plus $9.99 shipping, totaling $27.96. They arrived timely but wet and smelly.
I planted the ones I could salvage, and not a single one grew.
I followed their ludicrous rules and returned the shipping label, a copy of my invoice, and a handwritten note. They STILL won't honor the guarantee that is on their website.
Even though their prices are cheap, try to find a more reputable company. I just ordered seed potatoes from Potato Garden. They had some good reviews on "Dave's Garden".

If you have ever had to deal with any horrible company and thought it was the worst, Direct Gardening company is thousand times worse. They sent me dead plants and when I asked to return, they wanted me to send the original package back and to pay for the return shipping cost. What? I cannot believe that there is a company like this exist in America.
This company not only makes money from products they sell but they also make money from overcharge for shipping. At the end, you will lose money one way or another way. I purchased 24 white strawberry roots; it took them a week to ship the order out and took ten days for me to receive it. The worst thing was all the roots died and the package was a plastic bag. I returned the package by USPS and paid only $4 for two days shipping. So, they made at least $7 to $8 for only the shipping. This is why they love to send dead products. They don't care about their customers, they only care about how to steal your money. They are the scam company.
Please, do not ever ask for the refund if they didn't issue the cost of shipping. You should call your credit cards to dispute it. If there are many people call and dispute transactions. For a long term it will hurt the company for it and you will get the full refund.

You should call your credit card company to dispute the transaction. This company is the worst of the worst. You will be overcharged for shipping and if you return the order you have to pay for a return shipping and they won't refund the shipping cost.
They sent me dead roots and asked me to pay for return shipping. I called my credit card company. The problem is solve.
